Most Latin American countries entered the ranks of middle-income levels almost simultaneously with Japan and South Korea. However, while Japan and South Korea embarked on the path of economic development through technological innovation and industrial upgrading, Latin America fell into the middle-income trap. By examining the history of industrial and technological development in Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico, three representative countries in Latin America, this paper finds that the fundamental reasons for Latin America falling into the middle-income trap lie in the tension between the choice of industrialization path and primitive accumulation, as well as the institutional deficiencies in technology and industrial development. Latin America, which has fallen into the middle-income trap, finds it hard to upgrade its technology and is trapped in premature industrialization and the middle-technology trap. It can be said that Latin America has fallen into a double trap, which reinforces each other and forms a solid trap pattern. The warning from the Latin American experience is that late-developing countries need to maintain an open attitude during the process of technological catching up, build a complete technological innovation system, enhance industrial and technological governance capabilities, and seize the window of opportunity for technological and industrial upgrading. This article provides a review of the historical trends that are shaping global competition for standard setting in emerging technologies. Specifically, it explores how the traditional rule-makers of international standardization, namely the United States and Europe, are responding to the rise of China in standard-setting. The article argues that three polities are adapting their standard-setting strategies to shifting power dynamics in the international technology order. To preserve its competitive advantage, the US is becoming more interventionist and proactive in setting technology standards. China has developed a long-term standardization strategy to bolster its domestic industrial development, increase its influence and reap greater profits from the process of rule-making. Finally, the EU is seeking a third way that strikes a balance between competition and cooperation to preserve values like interoperability, which have historically benefited its single market and the global economy at large. Our historical review shows that, while the three polities have different priorities and face distinct challenges, they all seem to converge towards a greater role for governments in standard-setting. As global economic competition intensifies, collaborative innovation in strategic emerging industries has become a key factor in promoting economic growth and business development, attracting widespread attention. To delve into the mechanisms of collaborative innovation among China's strategic emerging industries, this study employs a social network analysis. It investigates the characteristics of these industries by analyzing 8,775,496 invention patents, exploring the impact of inter-industry innovation networks on collaborative innovation. Furthermore, this study incorporates industry knowledge acquisition as a mediating variable and the network density within individual industries as a moderating variable, to more comprehensively explain this impact mechanism. We find that relational and structural embeddings within inter-industry innovation networks significantly positively affect collaborative innovation performance, highlighting the importance of partnerships and the critical role of network configurations. Additionally, the breadth and depth of knowledge acquisition mediate the relationship between relational embedding in inter-industry innovation networks and collaborative innovation performance, emphasizing the pivotal role of knowledge acquisition in fostering collaborative innovation. Lastly, the network density within individual industries positively moderates the relationships between both relational and structural embedding in inter-industry innovation networks and collaborative innovation performance, revealing specific impacts of both internal and external industry innovation network characteristics on collaborative innovation. These findings not only provide practical guidance for collaborative innovation across industries but also offer new insights and implications for policy-making and academic research. In future industrial development, special emphasis should be placed on establishing and maintaining partnerships, optimizing inter-industry innovation networks, and enhancing the breadth and depth of knowledge acquisition to foster sustainable development of collaborative innovation. Given that eco-innovations and the associated renewal of regional economic structures are pivotal in addressing environmental challenges, regional research is increasingly focusing on their spatio-temporal dynamics. While green technological and industrial path developments in specific regions have received considerable attention, little effort has been made to derive general patterns of environmental inventive activities across regions. Drawing on unique data capturing both green incumbent and green start-up activities in the 401 German NUTS-3 regions over the period 1997–2018, this paper sheds light on how eco-innovation activities unfold in different regional contexts. For this purpose, we introduce sequence analysis methods into the research toolkit of research on regional development. These novel methods allow us to understand to what extent regions engage in eco-innovation activities, how these activities change over time and to what extent similar or unique eco-innovation trajectories (co)evolve. Based on this empirical approach, we distinguish different types of regional eco-innovation trajectories and find a strong persistence and path dependency in green regional development. Over the last twenty years, there has been swift growth in industrialization and technological advancements, driving economic progress. Nevertheless, it is inevitable that these sectors will bring about environmental shifts. Thus far, endeavors have been undertaken to assess the influence of industrialization and technological advancements on environmental deterioration. Additionally, the extensive discussion surrounding the impact of financial development, trade openness, and technological innovation on the environment has not yielded conclusive empirical findings. Studies often operate under the assumption of symmetric relationships, potentially leading to biased results. Adding to the discussion on the drivers of carbon neutrality, the time-dependent effects of critical aspects such as financial development and technological innovation should inform meaningful policies for environmental management. This article explores the time-varying causal association between trade openness, industrialization, financial development, technological innovation, and CO2 emissions in Thailand using novel time-varying Granger causality tests. The time-varying causality outcomes demonstrate that the associations change significantly over time, in contrast to the results of Toda-Yamamoto causality. Overall, there exists a bidirectional relationship between industrialization, financial development, trade openness, technological innovation, and CO2 emissions over different time sequences. Blockchain technology has the characteristics of distributed storage, peer-to-peer transmission, strong confidentiality, and convenient traceability. It has become an important application for accelerating the industrial digital transformation. After fifteen years of development, blockchain has become well-known to the public and been applied in the digital transformation of many fields. This paper analyzes the origin and development of blockchain, summarizes its attributes in detail, and systematically summarizes the importance of the blockchain in empowering digital transformation. To explore the active research fields and development prospects of blockchain, the analysis data are based on information from papers published from 2015 to 2023 in the core collection of the Web of Science database, which were analyzed by CiteSpace V6.2.R4. The software depicts blockchain literature information, such as main authors, published institutions, active research fields, and evolutionary trends, using knowledge maps. The advantages of blockchain are security, privacy, and the ability to create smart contracts and consensus mechanisms, and it has been applied to digital transformation in fields such as financial transactions, supply chains, and the Internet of Things management. This paper also discusses the high-level applications of blockchain in cutting-edge fields such as smart grids, e-healthcare, the Internet of Vehicles, and machine learning. The paper draws conclusions and implications from the findings and argues that, to accelerate the digital transformation of industry, it is necessary to adhere to the technological innovation of the blockchain and expand its application scope. Regulatory agencies and industrial associations must also strengthen their supervision and cooperation to ensure the safe and effective promotion of sustainable development in the digital economy. China's industrial sector generally relies on electricity as its main source of energy, and industrial production can be affected if there are problems with the electricity supply. In order to deal with the uncertain electricity supply and achieve the "dual carbon" target, the industrial sector needs to take effective measures to enhance carbon total factor productivity (CTFP). We use the biennial Luenberger productivity index (BLPI) to try to provide strategies for low-carbon industrial development in China. The results indicate that the overall CTFP of China's industrial sector showed an increasing trend from 2006 to 2019. Technology change was the main contributor to the change in CTFP, but fluctuations in efficiency change remained a challenge. Differences were observed between the light industry sector (LIS) and the heavy industry sector (HIS) in terms of changes in CTFP, with LIS showing more stable changes and HIS experiencing larger fluctuations. Most sub-sectors showed increased CTFP during the sample period. R&D investment and R&D personnel have a positive impact on CTFP, while energy structure is found to hinder CTFP. According to the research results of this study, we offer the corresponding policy implications. This study is the first to explore the balance between low-carbon goals and industrial production from the perspective of improving CTFP, providing a new viewpoint on the contributions of technological innovation to solving socio-economic issues. The conflict between rapid economic development, resource mismatch, and ecological damage is growing more severe. Industrial structure upgrading, as a bridge between economic activity and the ecological environment, is a crucial strategy for solving ecological and environmental problems. Based on the mediating effect and threshold models, this study selected 30 provincial panel data points in China from 2000 to 2020 to study the impact of environmental regulation and technological innovation on industrial structure upgrading. According to the findings, environmental regulation has a "U" shaped impact on industrial upgrading and passes the three threshold tests, with technological innovation playing a partially positive mediating role. There is regional heterogeneity in the impact of environmental regulation on industrial upgrading, with a "U" shaped impact on the eastern regions; there is inhibited industrial upscaling in the central and western areas. Foreign trade hinders industrial development in the eastern region but promotes rapid development and achieves structural adjustment in the central and western areas. The expansion of fixed asset investment hinders industrial restructuring. Government regulation can encourage industrial structure upgrading in all regions. We propose policy recommendations based on China's current situation. The development of technological innovation should be promoted, and environmental rules should be differentiated according to local conditions. This study has a certain guiding significance and reference value for balancing environmental governance and economic development, effectively implementing an innovation-driven development strategy, and formulating China's regional development strategy. Resource-based regions support national economic development and are essential sources of basic energy and raw materials. In the post-pandemic era, however, there are practical situations to deal with, such as a fractured industrial chain, a weaker industrial structure, and a sharp reduction in economic benefits. Based on data collected from 68 cities in China, from 2010 to 2021, with 816 observations, this paper explores the industrial development process of resource-based regions in China and the change in the toughness of the industrial structure under the impact of COVID-19. The paper studies and analyzes industrial development trends, industrial structure toughness, and spatial spillover effects. The methods used are the Markov chain model and the Industrial Structure Advancement Index. By building the spatial Dubin model, the paper analyzes the spatial spillover effect of regional industrial development. It decomposes the spillover effect using the partial differential model based on regression. The results show that, during the study period, the comprehensive development level of industries in resource-based regions in China was slowly improving and tended to stabilize after entering the post-pandemic era. The evolution of an advanced industrial structure is significantly heterogeneous among regions, and each region has different toughness. The impact of COVID-19 has reduced the toughness of China's resource-based regions' industrial structure. The spatial spillover effect of regional industrial development is significant. Labor force, technology input, and industrial-structure optimization have different impacts on the industrial development of neighboring regions. In the post-pandemic era, China has used new management methods for more innovation. In order to achieve low-carbon, environmental protection, and sustainable development of resources, realize the rapid recovery of the toughness of industrial structure in China's resource-based cities, and reduce the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, China proposes to expand the supply of resources, improve the allocation of resources, optimize the direction, promote the rational flow and efficient aggregation of various factors, and enhance the impetus for innovation and development. Multi-scale urban innovation networks are important channels for intra- and inter-city knowledge spillovers and play an important role in urban industrial innovation and growth. However, there is a lack of direct evidence on the impact of multi-scale urban innovation networks on industrial development. Drawing upon the "buzz-and-pipeline" model, this paper analyzes the impact of multi-scale urban innovation networks on industrial development by taking the automobile manufacturing industry in China's five urban agglomerations as an example. Firstly, based on the Form of Correlation between International Patent Classification and Industrial Classification for National Economic Activities (2018) and co-patents, we construct urban innovation networks on three different geographical scales, including intra-city innovation networks, inter-city innovation networks within urban agglomerations, and innovation networks between cities within and beyond urban agglomerations. Then, we employ the ordinary least squares model with fixed effects at the urban agglomeration level to explore the impact of urban multi-scale knowledge linkages on the development of the automobile manufacturing industry and the results showed that urban innovation networks at three different geographical scales have different impacts on industrial development. Specifically, intra-city innovation networks have a facilitating effect on industrial development, while both inter-city innovation networks within urban agglomerations and innovation networks between cities within and beyond urban agglomerations have an inverted U-shaped impact on industrial development. The interactions between urban innovation networks on three different geographical scales have a negative effect on industrial development. The Victorian Age was a period of economic progress for England, driven by technological advancements and the expansion of power. During this era, the British Empire dominated much of the world, and the imperialists bragged that the Sun never sets on the vast empire. The main factor behind this rapid economic progress was industrialization, which was marked by the establishment of various industries across the nation. But the industrialization of Great Britain was not without its consequences; the advent of the Industrial Revolution brought with it an increased demand for cheap industrial labour. It was the poor working-class families that were brought in to supply this cheap labour to meet the increasing demands of the fast-progressing nation. Many children from such families were also hired to keep the nation's economic graph pointing upward. Child labour, thus, became a by-product of industrialization in England. While the mighty nation revelled in the glorious result of the Industrial Revolution, the poor children toiled hard, hidden away in dark, gloomy factories. This paper aims at exploring the issue of child labour during this period through the poem A Voice from the Factories: In Serious Verse by Caroline Norton, a prominent Victorian poet and activist. The study deployed two multivariate linear models in estimating the nexus of economic growth, technological development and in-country utilization of natural gas, using annual time series data on five variables - real gross domestic product per capita (RGDPC), natural gas consumption (NGC), technological development (TECH), trade openness (TOP), and industrialization (IND) - from 1986 to 2019. Using the method of error correction modeling (ECM), it is observed that technological development, gas consumption, trade openness, and industrialization have growth-stimulating effects on economic activities in Nigeria. The study further revealed that technological development, trade openness, and level of industrialization positively influenced natural gas consumption in Nigeria during the period. Based on our findings, we sustain the argument that (i) gas utilization and technological development are strong predictors of economic growth, and (ii) technological development greatly determines the level of natural gas consumption in the economy. We therefore recommend design and implementation of policies that promote research and development so as to ramp up technological innovation and development initiatives towards achievement of planned economic growth. In addition, improvements in technological development and convergence of global economies due to liberalization policies demands commensurate infrastructural expansion of natural gas production to reduce or eliminate possible mismatch between production and consumption of natural gas profiles. Purpose: The work aims to consider the evolution of leadership styles in the context of industrial development. The research aims to study changes in leadership approaches at different stages of industry development, such as industry 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0, identify the characteristics of each stage, and discover how these changes have affected leadership approaches. Particular attention is paid to identifying factors that determine the evolution of leadership styles, mainly changes in the technological, economic, and socio-cultural environment, to understand how these factors influence the development of leadership approaches and how this is reflected in organizational strategies. Design/methodology/approach: The article analyzes scientific literature and studies historical data and events devoted to the evolution of leadership styles in industrial development. The authors conducted a cross-sectional approach to a comparative analysis of leadership styles at different stages of industrial development in order to highlight the main differences and common elements. Scientists also used a systematic approach in the article to understand the interaction of factors of industrial development and the choice of leadership styles. The theoretical volume examines various approaches to leadership, and the practical aspect of the work is based on factual data and conclusions for the further use of the obtained results by modern leaders and managers. Findings: The study found that technological change defines a new context for leaders, which requires adapting and developing new management skills such as flexibility, adaptability, and collaboration. The general conclusion of the article is that the evolution of leadership styles is closely related to industrial development and requires constant improvement and adaptation of managers to changes in the technological, economic, and socio-cultural environment. Practical implications: Leadership is associated with technological and economic progress. The old approaches to leadership should be more relevant in today's world. Leaders must actively adapt their skills to new requirements, learn flexibility, and improve strategic thinking. Such changes in leadership practices have great potential to improve productivity and achieve success in the era of Industry 4.0. Social implications: These articles can be used as a basis for developing modern strategies focused on the challenges of Industry 4.0 and will contribute to further developing leadership potential in conditions of constant change. Originality/value: The study of the evolution of leadership in the context of industrial development consists of analyzing and comparing different leadership styles at different stages of industry. The study allows us to consider changes in leadership approaches and reveal their impact on organizational effectiveness and corporate culture. With the development of the digital economy, industrial structure upgrading plays an important role in realizing high-quality development. Exploiting the quasi-natural experimental setting provided by the Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Zone (BDCPZ) policy in China in 2016, this study evaluates the impacts of the BDCPZ policies on regional industrial structure upgrading using a combination of propensity score matching and difference-in-differences (PSM-DID) with panel data of 30 regions for the period 2008–2021. The results are as follows: (1) BDCPZ policies significantly promote regional industrial structure upgrading. This finding holds after conducting the placebo test and replacing explained variables. (2) BDCPZ policies enhance upgrading through technological innovation and financial deepening. (3) Heterogeneity analysis shows that the promotional effect of BDCPZ policies on industrial structure upgrading is more obvious in economically developed regions, megacities, and east-central regions; overall, regions with high industrialization benefit more. These findings have important implications: First, they provide new empirical evidence from the perspective of policy evaluation on how the digital economy affects industrial structure upgrading. Second, this study sheds light on the mechanism underlying this relationship, helping us understand how the digital economy can further affect the development of the industrial structure. Third, the policy effect is heterogenous, providing a scientific basis for the government to formulate differentiated implementation policies for different regions. As Minister of Industries in Cuba between 1961 and 1965, Che Guevara addressed the challenge of increasing production and labour productivity in conditions of underdevelopment and in transition to socialism, without relying on capitalist mechanisms that undermine the formation of new consciousness and social relations integral to socialism. Under capitalism, Guevara noted, competition for private profit drives the application of science and technology to industrial development, revolutionising the productive forces. Socialist governments must find alternative methods. To these ends, Guevara set up nine research and development institutes, focussing on sugar cane derivatives, minerals and metals, the chemical industries, agricultural by-products, the mechanical industry, technological innovations, and automation. He established an institutional framework to begin experimentation at different ends of the production chain simultaneously. The short-term results were inevitably limited, but more significant than the productive achievements attained was the methodology introduced, the application of science and technology to production. Can the adoption of information technology (IT) by firms drive green innovation and stimulate sustainable development? This paper employs a quasi-natural experiment, namely the "Pilot Zone for Integration of Informatization and Industrialization" in China, to evaluate the effect of IT on green innovation. Our findings reveal that IT significantly fosters the proliferation of green invention patents but has inconsequential impact on green utility model patents. Notably, the positive effects of IT on green innovation are further amplified when firms receive scrutiny from analysts. Moreover, IT can facilitate green innovation in the source-governance category of conventional energy and not only in end-of-pipe regulatory compliance. This paper reconsiders the roles of actors in regional innovation systems in the context of transformative industrial change. Empirically, it draws on evidence from the Värmland region of Sweden, where regional innovation system actors, with partial funding from the Swedish Innovation Agency, are striving to build a bioeconomy upon the traditional forest-related industries. The main findings include that transformative industrial change adds a variety of responsibilities to regional actors, including the provision of change legitimacy, influencing the industry's innovation directionality and achieving social acceptance for change. At present, realizing the upgrading and sustainable development of industrial clusters has become an urgent problem. Based on this, based on data mining and artificial intelligence technology, this paper combines the actual needs of industrial clusters and technological innovation to construct an analysis model of the influencing factors of technological innovation in industrial clusters. Based on the complex network foundation, this paper regards the activity of the innovation network as the result of the joint influence of the presence index, closeness index, betweenness index, agglomeration index and path length index. Moreover, this paper combines the actual situation of the cluster to construct an evaluation system for the activity of the innovation network. In addition, this paper uses the PROMETHEE method based on the cloud model to evaluate the activity of the innovative network to be studied in this paper. Finally, this paper designs experiments to verify the performance of the algorithm model constructed in this paper. GHG emissions growth of Vietnam is highest all over the globe and the carbon intensity of this economy is considered second highest in Asian economies. As the energy intensity level is rising constantly, thereby, the predictions indicate that Vietnam will become highest GHG emission in the region. In order to address the issue, the current article aims to investigate the impact of green finance, technology advancement, energy efficiency, industrialization, and population growth on sustainable development in Vietnamese context. The time chosen for the study is 1991 to 2020. The study has used the Dynamic Auto-regressive Distributed Lags (DARDL) and the Bayesian Auto-regressive Distributed Lags (BARDL) model for data analysis. Findings exposed that green finance, technology advancement, REO, REC, industrialization, and population growth all are positively connected with sustainable development. In order to explore the evolution process of regional vegetable circulation efficiency and its influencing factors, this paper uses Super-SBM model considering unexpected output and GML index to calculate the vegetable circulation efficiency of 13 provinces (cities) in Central China and its surrounding areas from 2015 to 2019, then conducts spatial autocorrelation analysis on the vegetable circulation efficiency in this region through Moran index. Finally, SPDM model is constructed to explore the spatial effect of the influencing factors on the vegetable circulation efficiency in this region. The results show that (1) the vegetable circulation efficiency of most provinces (cities) in this region is low. (2) The Global Moran's I of the vegetable circulation efficiency in this region is positive, that is, the vegetable circulation efficiency in this region shows a certain degree of spatial agglomeration effect. (3) The level of scientific and technological innovation and the degree of government support have significant positive direct and indirect effects on the efficiency of vegetable circulation in the region, the quality of workers has significant positive indirect effects, and the level of economic development and industrial structure have significant negative indirect effects. A true history of industrial technology and innovation must factor in the history of labor and skill required to make a specific product. Mainstream perspectives on industrialization in Britain's cotton industry view technological change in spinning as motivated by productivity gains, facilitated by the fortuitous availability of high-quality, long-staple cotton. However, material evidence shows British cotton textiles advanced to match Indian cloth quality, suggesting that spinning machinery also evolved apace to achieve product quality. This article demonstrates that alongside the cotton staple, the spinner's skill and dexterity determined final cloth quality. The three main spinning machines were technically path dependent, with mechanized spinning of fine cotton based on the original Indian jersey wheel technology. Technological innovations mainly focused on improving product quality, with mechanization a means to bridge the British skill gap in cotton spinning. In order to evaluate the science and technology innovation policies of five national high-tech zones in Hebei Province, the application scope of PMC index model was extended from a single policy to a policy group. The joint analysis of calculation results and policy contents was applied in the research. It is found that there are significant regional and thematic imbalances in the formulation of science and technology innovation policies for these five national high-tech zones in Hebei Province. Specifically, Shijiazhuang Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone has significantly higher level of science and technology innovation policy strength, especially for important innovation resources such as platforms, talents, and high-tech enterprises. In terms of policy themes, the five national high-tech zones have relatively weak policies on innovation output and open innovation. The logistics industry and the manufacturing industry are mutually productive factors and service objects, which determines that the two must develop cooperatively. In the increasingly fierce market competition, open collaborative innovation is more conducive to improving the level of linkage between the logistics industry and the manufacturing industry, and promoting industrial development. Based on the patent data of 284 prefecture-level cities in China from 2006 to 2020, this paper uses Gis spatial analysis, spatial Dubin model and other methods to analyze the collaborative innovation between the logistics industry and manufacturing industry. The results lead to several conclusions. (i) The overall collaborative innovation level is not high, and in terms of the evolution cycle, collaborative innovation has experienced three stages: embryo, rapid development and stable development. (ii) The spatial agglomeration characteristics of the collaborative innovation between the two industries are more and more obvious, and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration play an important role in the collaborative innovation between the two industries. (iii) The hot spots of collaborative innovation between the two industries are concentrated in the eastern and northern coastal areas, while the cold spots are concentrated in the south of the northwest and southwest areas in the late stage of the study. (iiii) The positive influencing factors of local collaborative innovation between the two industries include economic development, scientific and technological level, government behavior, and employment, while the negative influencing factors include information technology level, and logistics infrastructure. Economic development has a negative spatial spillover effect on surrounding areas, while the spatial spillover effect of scientific and technological level is significantly positive. This article aims to explore the current situation and influencing factors of collaborative innovation between the two industries, with a view to proposing countermeasures and suggestions for improving the level of collaborative innovation between the two industries, and also providing new ideas for research on cross industry collaborative innovation. Innovation platforms can be useful for promoting the diversification of regional industrial paths. Until recently, the literature had depicted such platforms primarily as a tool for enabling local knowledge recombination – and not for anchoring non-local knowledge. In many regions, however, 'smart specialisation strategies' for modernising and transforming industrial structures are difficult to implement without transplantation of non-local knowledge. This paper explores innovation platforms as a tool for anchoring non-local knowledge. We elaborate on recent Chinese experiences by studying diversification-oriented regional innovation policy in Guangdong province. We employ an embedded single-case study design, involving a regionally typical diversification strategy, which we substantiate by tracing platform development with two non-local actors, a university and a technology firm. The paper reveals that non-local actors can play an important role in unlocking regional industrial development potential, especially if platforms enable these actors to relate to local industry by performing desired intermediary functions. Green development efficiency has become an important research topic as many countries are striving to transform development model. This study conducts static measurement and dynamic decomposition analysis of the green development efficiency of the Yangtze River Delta in China using a DEA-Malmquist model. The result shows that the green development efficiency of the Yangtze River Delta is generally on an upward trend, but varies considerably within the region. Moreover, this study analyses the influencing factors and spatial effects of green development efficiency using the spatial Durbin model, which shows that there are obvious spatial correlations and spatial dependencies in the green development efficiency of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, and the influencing factors such as financial development and industrial structure have a positive effect on the city's green development efficiency and have a positive spillover effect on the surrounding areas. However, technological innovation has a negative spillover effect on green development efficiency. Finally, this study proposes to improve the regional coordination mechanism of green technological innovation, guide the development of financial agglomeration and leverage the spatial spillover effect. Innovation efficiency is an important manifestation of regional innovation capacity, and how to improve regional innovation efficiency is crucial to regional development. This study empirically explores the impact of industrial intelligence on regional innovation efficiency and the possible influence of approaches and mechanisms. The empirical results revealed the following. First, the development level of industrial intelligence can positively affect regional innovation efficiency, while beyond a certain level, its role in promoting regional innovation efficiency will weaken, exhibiting an inverted U-shaped effect. Second, compared with the application research by enterprises, industrial intelligence plays a stronger role in promoting the innovation efficiency of basic research by scientific research institutes. Third, human capital situation, financial development level, and industrial structure upgrading are three significant channels for industrial intelligence to promote regional innovation efficiency. Therefore, accelerating the development of industrial intelligence, formulating individualized policies for different innovative entities, and rationally allocating resources related to the development of industrial intelligence are needed to be taken to improve regional innovation. Helped by natural resources, the early and rapid rise of industrialization and infrastructure, businesses created innovative products that were in demand. This paper investigates the makers of agricultural implements and machines in Lanarkshire, especially outside Glasgow, as innovators and leaders in the trade. It looks at their character, why they were innovative and the implements and machines they were renowned for. As a key strategy to promote system reform, improve the investment environment, and encourage industrial agglomeration, the national high-tech industrial development zone (NHTDZ) policy in China can not only reduce energy consumption through the scale effect but also improve energy efficiency by modernizing industrial structure and fostering technological innovation, thereby alleviating environmental pollution. Existing studies, however, focus solely on the effects of NHTDZ policy on social and economic development, ignoring their impact on the ecological environment, especially carbon (CO2) emissions that contribute to global warming. Thus, this article analyzes a panel data of 285 prefecture-level cities and above in China from 2003 to 2019 to assess the influence of NHTDZ policy on CO2 emissions, treating the NHTDZ construction since 1988 as a quasi-natural experiment. The results indicate that the NHTDZ policy would mitigate urban carbon emissions, particularly in middle, southeastern, medium-sized, resource-based (RB), non-key environmental protection (non-KEP), and non-two control zone (non-TCZ) cities. In addition, the mediation mechanism test demonstrates that the environmental benefits of the NHTDZ policy in China are attributable to the scale effect, the structural upgrading effect, and the technology innovation effect. Rumah Unggul Sistem Panel Instan (RUSPIN) technology is the development of Rumah Instan Sederhana Sehat (RISHA) with several improvements. Besides resistance to earthquakes, this technology has advantages such as ease and speed of installation compared to conventional houses. As a new technological innovation that has been proven, to develop RUSPIN technology to be an industrialization model in the future, therefore a study of technology business plan is required. Research objectives eager to see the market and industrialization opportunities of RUSPIN technology. The study using Business Model Canvas (BMC) concept which strived to combine 9 business aspects such as customer segments, value proposition, channels, customer relationships, revenue streams, key resources, key activities, key partners, and cost structure into one complete concept map. As the result of this study, the market opportunity for RUSPIN technology is very large with the market segmentation is families that do not own a home and the target market for Low-Income Families (MBR). The Agency for Defense Development (ADD) has functioned as South Korea's central institute for weapons research and development (R&D) since 1970, when it was established by the Park Chung Hee regime (1961–79). As argued in this article, this quasi-private, quasi-public military institute also fostered major advancements of science and technology during the transformative decade of South Korea's "militarized industrialization," the 1970s, with a lasting impact on the private sector and business relations with the state. Drawing from in-person interviews with living scientists who worked on military projects of the Park state, as well as official records of the ADD and recently declassified government documents, the article tells the story of the ADD's founding and details how, as a key player in Park's pursuit of security independence, the agency spurred technological innovation and industrialization. Through weapons development, the ADD localized R&D, facilitated technological collaboration, established quality control and standardization methods within corporations, and enhanced the scientific workforce with advanced training, altogether promoting the scientization of the Korean private sector. By merging state and business efforts, and by combining military with civilian strengths, the ADD led a process of national scientization and technological governance that still operates at the heart of Korean economic growth today. Industrial policy based on Smart Specialisation emphasizes the exploitation of industrial linkages based on technological rather than intermediate product linkages. This paper develops microlevel analysis using the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) patent citation database on the intensity of technical relatedness depending on the cited and citing technological fields. The results are used to estimate the patterns of interregional knowledge spillovers in the European Union and explain spatial differences in patent growth. The arrival of the dual-carbon era indicates that it is imperative to reduce industrial carbon emissions with high carbon emissions. The implementation of carbon emission reduction will inevitably have an impact on industrial development. Three different carbon emission scenarios were established. Based on the average annual carbon emission growth rate of the past decade, it is set as a medium carbon scenario. According to the economic development stage and actual social development situation of each region, the corresponding annual average carbon emission growth rate is increased and decreased to set up high carbon and low carbon scenarios. The adjacent accumulation gray multivariate model for industries is established based on different scenarios. The results indicate that the carbon emission scenarios most suitable for industrial development in various regions are different. Heavy industrial provinces and cities such as Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei have the highest industrial output value under high carbon scenarios; Provinces and cities with high levels of industrialization, such as Jiangsu, Shanghai, Guangdong and Chongqing have the highest industrial output value under low-carbon scenarios. The industrial output value of Hebei is expected to grow the fastest under the high carbon scenario, reaching 2.15 trillion yuan by 2030. The industrial output value of Guangdong achieves the greatest improvement under low-carbon scenario. It is expected that the industrial output value of which will reach 6.86 trillion yuan by 2030, ranking first in the country. Therefore, the setting of carbon emission scenarios needs to be tailored to local conditions, increase technological innovation efforts, and further promote industrial development. Industrial structure upgrading has a spatial spillover effect, which is an important way to accelerate urban green innovation and realize urban sustainable development. Therefore, it is very important to study the impact of industrial structure upgrading on urban green innovation. Using panel data of 260 prefecture-level and above cities in China from 2005 to 2019, this paper studies the spatial effect of industrial structure supererogation on green innovation by using the spatial Durbin model (SDM). The results show that both industrial structure upgrading and green innovation show a trend of regional agglomeration and fluctuation. The direct effect of an industrial structure supererogation on green innovation is significantly positive, while the indirect effect and total effect are significantly negative. The direct effect, indirect effect, and total effect of industrial structure rationalization on green innovation are significantly positive.
