With the rise of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the seamless connection between the physical and digital worlds has been realized. This review paper aims to conduct a science mapping review of IoT applications in industrial management and to identify mainstream research topics, research gaps, and future research directions. Using VOSviewer as a visualization tool, 142 articles retrieved from the Scopus database were quantitatively discussed using scientometric analysis. Additionally, a follow-up qualitative discussion was focused on mainstream research topics, existing research gaps, and future research directions as the main research goals. The results revealed influential findings for the co-occurrence of keywords, journals, countries, authors, and documents analyses. Moreover, it was found that the existing research mainly focused on four main research topics including (1) application of IoT in manufacturing based on cyber-physical systems, (2) IoT-related technologies on logistics and supply chain management, (3) The impact of IoT on business models, and (4) Industrial IoT (IIoT) in the context of Industry 4.0. On this basis, the existing research gaps and future research directions are proposed. The research aims to describe the state of enterprise risk management (ERM) in the insurance sector. It highlights emerging trends in the application of risk management in the insurance sector and thereby reports the prominent research gaps and new avenues for research in ERM. The research adopts a systematic literature review (SLR) approach, using 187 research papers spanning 44 years (1977–2021). The paper identifies the fact that most ERM and insurance sector research is performed in North America and Europe, while developing economies in Asia and Africa lag. The paper establishes a three-way relationship between ERM, risk management (RM) and risk-based capital (RBC) where RM is a subset of ERM and RBC is a driver of ERM. The research shows that very few studies are conducted on risk culture, three lines of defence and the role of chief risk officers. The determinants of ERM identified are board, firm size, audit and risk management committee and corporate governance. The determinants identified for firm value are return on assets, return on equity, profit, Tobin's Q, among others. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) has emerged as a response to globalization and regulatory pressure on firms to manage their risk comprehensively. CSR is related to corporate risk management, as by engaging in CSR activities firms can be more effective in managing stakeholder relationships. Extant studies rarely examine both issues to the level of digital transformation. In the coming years, the issue of digital transformation will have an even bigger impact on business models. The first step in the effective implementation of ERM is the ability of the organization to learn and understand the requirements of ERM implementation in its company. Thus, it is important to examine the effect of the maturity learn element in ERM and CSR as risk management on the level of digital transformation. In addition, this paper also examines the moderating role of CSR on the association between ERM and the level of digital transformation. Our samples consist of manufacturing companies of developed countries in the European Union (which consists of Italy, Spain, Belgium Switzerland, Germany, France, and UK). The paper found evidence that enterprise risk management has a positive significant effect on the level of digital transformation. The paper also found evidence that CSR has a direct effect on the level of digital transformation. Recent years have seen increasing initiatives involving more applications of real options to value the strategizing process. These initiatives, referred to as Real Option Theory (ROT), imply greater inclusiveness of simple and advanced real options in strategizing processes. While substantial theoretical groundwork on ROT has been laid in corporate finance, and both qualitative and quantitative studies on ROT in business management journals are appearing on an increasing basis, there remain significant opportunities for more research on strategic synergism in patent-based acquisitions. In this vein, the current paper aims to explore a rainbow real options application (real options that are exposed to two sources of uncertainty) to measure patent-based collaborative synergies in high-tech mergers and acquisitions. Having conducted the deviant case study of ZOOX start-up's acquisition by Amazon.com in 2020, this paper justifies the proposition of the employability of rainbow real options for the valuation of network and relational synergies in highly risky patent-based acquisitions with multiple uncertainties. Adequate enterprise financial risk management (EFRM) represents a leading competitive advantage of enterprises that determines market survival and business success in an uncertain global environment. Over time, EFRM has become a constituent part of integral business dealings of enterprises and one of the strategic functions of enterprise management. The main purpose of the paper is to explore the effects of the EFRM function/system on the financial performance of enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The basic source of data in the research was collected by means of a structured questionnaire. The target population in the research consists of large enterprises that have continuously operated in the territory of BiH (2013-2017). The selection of enterprises was made applying a random sampling method and contains 72 enterprises. Appropriate descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used in the data analysis and panel data analysis was used to assess effects of EFRM function on financial performance. The scientific contribution of the paper is reflected in the fact that the research is pioneering for Bosnia and Herzegovina with the analysis of effects of the EFRM function on enterprise financial performance (EFP). The results show that there are no systematic, statistically significant differences between large enterprises that engage in risk management ('hedgers') and enterprises that do not engage in risk management ('non-hedgers') in BiH. Fraud presents a serious problem and arising issue for all of society at national and global levels. According to global fraud research conducted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, it is estimated that the average company loses about 5% of its annual revenue due to different types of business fraud. Total estimated annual fraud losses according to global ACFE research reaches about 4.7 trillion dollars. Business frauds also present an important issue for the Croatian economy, business community and society as a whole. Thereby, considerable attention should be given to this issue with the aim of raising awareness throughout society on fraud and its negative and destructive impact on all of society. The main purpose of this paper is to examine differences in fraud characteristics between state-owned and private companies in the Republic of Croatia. Research was based on data on business frauds obtained by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Croatia which included 124 respondents. Data were related to frauds that occurred in Croatian companies in 2021 and 2020. In this paper we focused on fraud characteristics such as fraud loss, type of fraud, fraud duration and methods of fraud detection in order to determine whether fraud in privately owned companies differs significantly from fraud in state-owned companies. Research results revealed how differences in fraud characteristics among privately and state-owned companies exist. Based on a sample of Croatian companies that were victims of fraud, it is noted how fraud in state-owned companies lasts longer and creates greater loses in comparison to fraud in private owned companies. Moreover, data related to estimated fraud loss and fraud duration were statistically significant in terms of differentiating these two groups of companies. In popular management literature corporations are sometimes loosely compared to cults. The comparison is a severe allegation as it implies the transgression of subordinate employees' integrity. This paper explores to what extent such comparisons with cults are warranted as well as the implications this has for the practice of corporate culture management. On grounds of the author's unique, first-hand experience in both corporate and cultic environments a retrospective autoethnographic (RAE) approach was chosen to further explore the supposed resemblance. The comparison is structured along Lifton's eight criteria of thought reform and reveals that although akin to cults in all aspects corporations also fundamentally differ due to the infeasibility, at least for now, of controlling the corporate environment in totalist fashion. This might explain why so many attempts to change corporate cultures fail as these initiatives are based on the anachronistic idea that culture change can be "implemented" by somehow "inculcating" employees with "company values." The continuous and systematic redesign of key business processes is very important for businesses and organizations that seek to achieve cost savings and efficiency enhancements. Selecting the most impactful processes and ensuring a successful redesign initiative remains an important topic that motivated the authors to conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on Business Process Redesign (BPR) Evaluation methodologies by applying an established eight-step SLR guide. The review sheds light on the current state of research and highlights the research gap by considering two dimensions of BPR artifacts: (a) the type of evaluation and (b) the generalizability of the existing approaches. The findings indicate that there is a lack of systematic methodologies in literature that properly evaluate the redesign capacity of models prior to implementation. Additionally, the existing methodologies do not cumulatively evaluate the quality characteristics that are necessary for BPR implementation or the applicability of BPR heuristics, and do not bear the generalizability to be readily used in a more general context. This paper aims to provide researchers with the necessary context and motivation to bridge this gap and further systematize BPR methodologies that can preselect the most suitable business processes for redesign. Purpose: This paper examines how manufacturing firms impacted by the nitrogen oxides (NOx) Budget Trading Program (NBP) strategically managed working capital to release funds for increased costs and mitigate the negative impact on firm performance. Design/methodology/approach: The study uses a panel data set including 11,302 manufacturing firm-year observations listed on the US exchanges during the period 2000–2008. The authors use Tobin's Q to proxy for firm performance, and cash holding, cash conversion cycle (CCC), days sales outstanding (DSO), days sales inventory (DSI) and days payable outstanding (DPO) for working capital management (WCM). The empirical analysis is conducted using both ordinary least squares (OLS) and propensity score matching (PSM) regressions. Findings: The authors find that firms respond to the higher utility costs imposed by the NBP by decreasing CCC, DSO and DSI. This active WCM response partially mitigated the impact of increased compliance costs on performance for firms affected by the NBP. Results are robust in PSM regressions. Research limitations/implications: Climate change is a global issue that has attracted increasing attention in recent years. This study shows how firms can adjust short-term financing strategies to address the costs of compliance with climate change regulation. Originality/value: The paper contributes to the emerging literature on corporate finance and climate policy actions. Wasta is a concept that is widespread across the Middle East, and practiced as a common and acceptable culture in most Middle East based business organizations. While the wasta practice is common and is followed as part of the usual organizational culture in the Middle East, yet, its implications are not all positive for the overall employee and organizational performance, which will be highlighted in the current paper in detail. It encourages interpersonal connections and networking of individuals to be used in order to obtain jobs, based on personnel connection rather than merit, which has huge negative impacts on the business. This paper, therefore, presents a detailed discussion on wasta and its implications considering business organizations across the Middle East. The tourism sector will be the area of the focus for the present work. The impacts of such activities on the tourism sector are significant on recruitment, teamwork, training, reward system, and overall HRM practices, which raise questions on whether this concept should indeed be as common in practice as it is currently. Green credit is changing industrial structure and corporate behavior, but little attention has been paid to the relationship between green credit and corporate cash management behavior. Based on the typical fact that the allocation of traditional bank credit funds is biased towards heavily polluting industries and the exogenous impact event of green credit policy, this paper takes A-share listed companies in China's capital market from 2008 to 2015 as samples, and uses the DID model to investigate the impact of green credit policy on excess cash holdings of heavily polluting enterprises. The findings indicate that the green credit policy has reduced the excessive cash holdings of heavily polluting enterprises, suggesting that it can correct the issue and align their cash holdings with the requirements of normal production and operations. The mechanism test demonstrates that the green credit policy can alleviate agency conflicts and influence enterprise cash holdings. Moreover, a cross-sectional investigation reveals that the inhibitory effect of the green credit policy on cash holdings is more pronounced in large-scale and state-owned enterprises compared to small-scale and non-state-owned enterprises. Finally, an analysis of the economic consequences reveals that the green credit policy indirectly enhances corporate value by reducing excessive cash holdings. Based on this, banks and financial institutions continue to treat the credit granting of heavily polluting enterprises cautiously, optimize the structure of green financial products, fully consider the different types and nature of customers, and develop differentiated lending conditions and diversified evaluation mechanisms. This paper has enriched the research on the economic consequences of green credit and the influencing factors of corporate cash holdings, and provided policy enlightenment for regulators and listed companies to correctly understand and make full use of green credit policies to keep corporate cash stable through the crisis. Purpose: The fundamental objective of the study is to characterise the features that accompany ESG risk management processes in Polish companies financing green investments with a bank credit. Design approach: The study focuses on the observation of changes occurring in the concept and processes of ESG risk management following the so-called Paris Agreement of 2015. The EU regulations standardising the ESG risk management process in companies and banks have been analysed, indicating the differences resulting from them. The inclusion of ESG risks both in creditors and credit recipients is achieved through various channels, determining the extent, and expected outcomes of green investments. Without a doubt, the issue has been receiving considerable research attention in many papers since the energy crisis caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. However, in light of EU regulatory changes and the increased interest of business entities in green financing, uncertainties, and research problems are on the rise in this area. An evident limitation of the conducted research is the lack of empirical data completing the knowledge on the effects of ESG strategies both domestically and in EU member states. Therefore, the paper draws on questionnaire surveys conducted by the authors, as well as on the findings of various reports published on the subject. Findings: The research shows that EU regulations increase the security of financing green investments in both companies and banks. The concept of sustainable development and ESG risk management associated with it have been severely curtailed through their introduction. Nevertheless, there is a fairly substantial area of uncertainty associated with the process of financing green investments. The study analyses its determinants indicating that internal ESG risk management procedures of companies and banks do not eliminate the external risks of financing corporate green investments. Originality/value: The conducted research undoubtedly broadens the knowledge about the role and significance of ESG risk in the green investment financing process. The analysis of studies relating to ESG risk, taking into consideration EU documents, contributed to exposing unexplained, debatable, and unsolvable issues. Purpose: The paper's main aim is a holistic presentation of genuine motives, strategies and patterns of earnings management phenomenon in public companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Design/methodology/approach: The survey was carried out among 124 finance managers and public companies' accounting services representatives from the Polish capital market. The research sample selection was random (exhaustive testing); the survey was conducted in June-August 2023. Findings: During the research, it turned out that 29% of respondents admitted to implementing EM practices in firms they represent. Interviewees declared the use of various accrual-based and real EM instruments in a complementary way. The dominant EM strategies proved to be income smoothing and avoidance of earnings reduction, while the main reasons for EM implementation respondents included creating the image of a more profitable company (compared to the largest competitors), meeting market analysts' expectations regarding the level of reported financial result and showing better development prospects for the company. Research limitations/implications: This paper allows for identifying the level of willingness to implement earnings management practices among executives of public companies and, as well as measuring the awareness of finance managers and representatives of accounting services regarding the possibilities of using particular instruments and techniques of accrualbased and real earnings management in business practice. Originality/value: This study fills a gap in the literature regarding the accounting data quality reported among listed companies in Poland. Most studies on the issue of earnings management focus on estimating the scale and scope of the practices mentioned above using specific regression models. Empirical research based on survey techniques in which respondents professionally responsible for financial reporting in listed companies would present their views or experiences regarding earnings management is rarely seen. All organizations are impacted by sustainability, both positively and negatively. It is therefore important to assess the sustainability of any human activity, product, or development. Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) is one of the most effective methods for assessing sustainability. The significance of this study is that it highlights significant and key ideas in the subject of LCSA, including research commonality, research trends, model shortcomings, existing appropriate methods, and research gaps using a systematic review of the literature and bibliometric analysis. The developing tendency of reviewing suggests that while sustainability issues are a severe problem for all countries, they will continue to rule social, economic, and environmental issues in the years to come. There are still a lot of uncharted territories. The study found that energy was the most popular topic among related areas of LCSA application. According to the research findings, it was also suggested that LCSA could be improved in future research in the following areas: the development of impact categories to enable study comparison, the definition of coherent system boundaries, the development of impact assessment methodologies, the development of trustworthy databases to enable the evaluation of economic and social perspectives, the development of tools for performing uncertainty analysis and communication strategies. To advance technique development and comprehend the interplay between environmental, economic, and social aspects, more case studies are required. It is envisaged that the development and application of LCSA will contribute to the accomplishment of Sustainable Development Goals across a range of international locations, businesses, and goods. Purpose: This paper aims to contribute to the development of the European Union (EU) regulatory environment for sustainability reporting by analyzing how materiality is defined in the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD) and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and by examining the added value and challenges of legalizing reporting and materiality requirements from both regulatory and practical company perspectives. It provides insights on whether this is reflected by EU pharmaceutical companies and to what extent companies report information on their materiality analysis process. Design/methodology/approach: Doctrinal analysis was used to examine regulatory instruments. Qualitative document analysis was used to analyze companies' reports. The added value and challenges were examined using a governance approach. It focused on legalizing reporting and materiality requirements, with a brief extension to corporate management and organization studies. Findings: Materiality has evolved from a vague concept in the NFRD toward double materiality in the CSRD. This was reflected by the industry, but reports revealed inconsistencies in materiality definitions and reported information. Challenges include lack of self-reflection and company-centric perceptions of materiality. Companies should explain how they identify relevant stakeholders and how input is considered in decision-making. Practical implications: Managers must consider how they conduct materiality assessments to meet society's expectations. The underlying processes should be explained to increase the credibility of reports. Sustainability reporting should be seen as a corporate governance tool. As a prestigious and unique journal on total quality management (TQM), Total Quality Management & Business Excellence (TQM&BE) has significantly contributed to theoretical and practical advancement. Retrieving 2588 literature from Scopus between 1990 and 2022, this paper applies CiteSpace and VOSviewer to analyze the publications per year and by geographic distribution, productive authors, highly cited literature, and related journals. Through combining content analysis, research content and hotspots of eight key themes are summarized. Additionally, this paper compares TQM&BE with seven journals on quality management, and predicts development potential of impact factor and quartile by ARIMA method. The results show the following: (1) With the growth in publications, TQM&BE has been gaining approval from numerous countries worldwide, especially in universities in China, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Sweden. (2) TQM&BE publishes many highly cited classics in areas such as frameworks of TQM, customer satisfaction, and improvement of quality innovation approaches, effectively expanding accumulation of achievements. (3) Sustainable quality management, excellence 4.0, role of e-service quality in customer loyalty, and upgradation of Kano model are its recent hotspots. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate (1) how managers respond to stock price crashes, (2) why they respond and (3) how their responses affect shareholders. Design/methodology/approach: This study employs a panel regression with various firm-level controls and firm- and year-fixed effects. The sample is comprised of 101,532 firm-year observations with 11,727 unique firms from 1950 to 2019. Using mutual fund flow redemption pressure as an exogenous variable to stock price crashes, the paper provides further evidence of the causality of documented findings. Findings: Management becomes more focused on improving transparency, raising investment efficiency, reducing agency conflicts and regaining the trust of shareholders by investing in social capital and employee welfare. These actions increase firm value. This study also suggests that management undertakes these actions out of concern for their tenure of employment. Originality/value: The catalysts of stock price crashes are well documented, but much less is known about what happens following stock price crashes. Purpose: This research explores the mediating role of a firm's innovativeness and customer orientation on the relationship between commercial success and total quality management (TQM) in the Indian SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) sector. Design/methodology/approach: The hypotheses suggested for this study were validated using partial least squares-based structural equation modeling on data collected from 189 executives working in SaaS companies in India. Findings: The findings of this study revealed that a SaaS company's innovativeness fully mediates the relationship between TQM and corporate performance, whereas the customer orientation of SaaS companies partially mediates the relationship between TQM and corporate performance. Originality/value: Findings of this paper indicate that, in addition to TQM deployment, SaaS companies' innovativeness and customer-focused strategy will improve their corporate performance. With minimal research focusing on India, this study may be considered a pioneer work. The global expansion of business events has led to an increase in organizations hosting events, attracting participants from around the world, and promoting the host countries as travel destinations. While past research has primarily focused on the economic impact of these events, this paper seeks to address the gap in understanding the non-economic legacies of business events. Through a review of related literature from 2010 to 2020, the paper examines a sample of 37 articles and identifies emerging themes related to social, cultural, and environmental legacies that extend beyond the management period of the business event. The paper contributes an initial conceptual framework that highlights the impact of non-economic legacies on social, economic, and environmental factors, and proposes future research avenues for different stakeholders. Competitiveness is a key requirement for modern companies to survive. Effective corporate governance practices are also fast emerging as a fundamental obligation owed to shareholders and other stakeholders. The connection between competition and good corporate governance is derived from the product market competition hypothesis (PMCH) that projects the idea that operating in competitive markets would increase x-efficiency and decrease agency costs in companies, leading to superior corporate governance. Although a significant amount of work, both theoretical and empirical has been carried out on the efficacy of the PMCH, none of the research has been conclusive. Moreover, there has been no concentrated effort into determining the impact of the PMCH on the specific types of agency problems that are endemic to companies with largely concentrated shareholding structures like India. The paper highlights that a part of the reason behind the waning and unconvincing research on the PMCH (specially in India) has been the focus on competitiveness as an abstract concept or empirical construct, rather than on the regulatory aspect of competition, that is, competition law. This paper examines the connection between competition law and corporate governance, specifically the utility of competition regulation in being used to improve corporate governance in companies. It also considers the effectiveness of competition law in dispelling some of the pervasive Indian corporate governance problems such as tunneling and inefficient related party transactions. Some of the methods that are considered which would have such an impact and thus are recommended by the researcher, are a redefinition of 'dominant position' in the competition law discourse, to include within it pyramidical groups of companies as well as viewing tunneling practices as having an 'appreciable adverse effect' on competition. Doing so would result in numerous efficiencies as competition law could be used to kill two birds with one stone: increasing both competitiveness and good corporate governance. This paper examines the impact of institutional pressure (IP), top management support (TMS), green supply chain management practices (GSCM), and supply chain competitive advantage (SCCA) on corporate environmental performance (EP). We also analyze the mediation effect of GSCM on the interplay between TMS and EP. Additionally, the paper also provides an analysis of the moderating role of SCCA between IP and EP. To attain the objective of this research, we assembled data from 710 business entities within the Shaanxi province of China utilizing a survey design approach. The structural equation model (SEM) was applied to test and assess the hypothetical outline. The study outcomes empirically show that TMS, GSCM, and SCCA positively and significantly impact EP. Interestingly, our study found an insignificant association between IP and EP. The study's results also demonstrate that IP directly relates to top management support. Moreover, the study's empirical findings reveal that GSCM positively mediates IP and EP. The study findings show that SCCA shapes IP and EP's connection. Accordingly, the practical implications of our study's findings suggest that business managers, investors, and government agencies must know the importance of adopting sustainable practices within the supply chain. Business managers must take action to integrate environmental criteria into supplier selection, evaluate suppliers' EP, and collaborate with eco‐friendly suppliers. Hence, government agencies, stakeholders, and business managers can use this information to shape regulations and policies that encourage businesses to adopt sustainable supply chain practices. Offering incentives such as tax benefits or grants for sustainability initiatives can also promote adoption. The study recommends that a business culture that targets improving EP due to IP and top management support is essential in achieving GSCM practices, thereby promising competitive advantage. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate (1) how managers respond to stock price crashes, (2) why they respond and (3) how their responses affect shareholders. Design/methodology/approach: This study employs a panel regression with various firm-level controls and firm- and year-fixed effects. The sample is comprised of 101,532 firm-year observations with 11,727 unique firms from 1950 to 2019. Using mutual fund flow redemption pressure as an exogenous variable to stock price crashes, the paper provides further evidence of the causality of documented findings. Findings: Management becomes more focused on improving transparency, raising investment efficiency, reducing agency conflicts and regaining the trust of shareholders by investing in social capital and employee welfare. These actions increase firm value. This study also suggests that management undertakes these actions out of concern for their tenure of employment. Originality/value: The catalysts of stock price crashes are well documented, but much less is known about what happens following stock price crashes. Despite the promising outcomes achieved over time in Asset Management, data accessibility, correlation, analysis, and visualization still represent challenges. The integration, readability, and interpretation of heterogeneous information by different stakeholders is a further concern, especially at the urban scale, where spatial data integration is required to correlate virtual information with the real world. The Geographic Information System (GIS) allows these connections, representing and digitizing extensive areas with significant benefits for asset analysis, management, and decision-making processes. Such benefits are central for managing large and widespread university campuses as they are comparable to small cities, covering a wide urban region and including resources highly integrated into the urban context. The paper presents how GIS integrated into Business Intelligence (BI) tools can support university Asset Management System (AMS) creation for the optimal use of resources, illustrating the University of Turin case study. The results discussion considers the relationship between the different elements of the assets and their synergy with the city. It focuses on four themes, dealing with the asset identification of buildings and resources, especially the educational ones, asset spatiotemporal evolution, and buildings' distances for proximity analysis. Our research documents the experiences of business crisis management in wartime Ukraine. The goal of the paper is to contribute to our understanding of business crisis management in a conflict zone in wartime conditions, a significantly underresearched area. Based on interviews with the owners and managers of 20 Ukrainian companies spanning sectors and geography of the country, the paper provides insights into the various elements that characterize and distinguish war as a crisis type, including having an unknown end point, and, furthermore, what we can learn from how Ukrainian managers have approached this crisis. Among the key findings are how war situations appear to be "cosmology episodes" for which it is not possible to adequately prepare and for which the end point is unknown, both of which call for emergent, adaptive crisis management capabilities and leadership skills characterized by improvisation and other forms of resilience. Notwithstanding this, company wartime crisis management experiences have stimulated intention to more structured anticipatory and preparedness practices, as well as narratives of future renewal in communications with staff and stakeholders, which serve both as a guidepost and coping mechanism during the current crisis. Purpose: This study examines a link between firms' product market power, industry concentration, the degree of earnings management and the role of governance in curbing earnings management. Design/methodology/approach: The author uses different panel techniques of feasible generalized least squares (FGLS) and system generalized method of moments (GMM) to show robust study findings. Findings: The study results reveal that firms lacking product market pricing power engage in earnings management, adding a new dimension to the existing literature. Entrepreneurship education research has a strong "output" focus on impact studies but pays much less attention to the "inside" or process perspective of the way entrepreneurship education occurs. In particular, the scattered previous entrepreneurship curriculum research has not managed to provide a current and comprehensive overview of the curricular elements that constitute entrepreneurship education. To overcome this shortcoming, we aim to identify the teaching objectives, teaching contents, teaching methods, and assessment methods discussed in entrepreneurship curriculum research. To this end, we conducted a systematic literature review on the four entrepreneurship curriculum dimensions and collected all mentioned curriculum items. We used a two-stage coding procedure to find the genuinely entrepreneurship-specific items. Among numerous items (also from business management and other subjects), we found 26 objectives, 34 contents, 11 teaching methods, and 7 assessment methods that were entrepreneurship-specific. The paper examines the extent of corporate disclosure in the Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) reports of companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. A sample of 55 companies is taken, and based on the disclosure checklist containing 52 information items, the extent of disclosure is measured both at the aggregate level and with respect to different reporting areas of the MD&A report. It is found that average level of aggregate disclosure is 64.8%, which is moderately high. The maximum disclosure score is 90% and minimum 25%. The variation in the extent of disclosure among the sample companies is measured by range and standard deviation, which are 65% and 11.2%, respectively. As far as disclosure in specific areas of the MD&A report is concerned, a few companies have made 100% disclosure in respect of industry structure and development, risk and concern, and segment reporting, while some have made no disclosure about outlook information. Purpose: This article explores the roles of humanoid robots as CEOs in modern corporations, with a focus on Mika and Tang Yu as case studies. It compares their decision-making processes and emphasizes the importance of human oversight for ethical decisions. The article also discusses the European Union’s guidelines on decision-making of AI and human oversight. Additionally, it examines the potential for robots to replace CEOs and the importance of humanrobot collaboration in the future of corporate management and decision-making. Design/methodology/approach: This article begins by providing statistics on the humanoid robot market and then profiles two well-known humanoid robots, Mika and Tang Yu, who function as CEOs. The research compiles data from various sources to create a comprehensive dataset on their roles and functions. It analyzes their responsibilities, decisionmaking processes, and interactions with humans to identify differences and similarities between them. The paper also examines EU guidelines on AI decision-making and explores the future of corporate management and decision-making. Findings: Two humanoid robots, Mika and Tang Yu, have assumed CEO roles with distinct approaches. Mika, a real humanoid robot, focuses on community engagement and efficient data-driven decisions. Tang Yu, a virtual humanoid robot, concentrates on workflow optimization through data-driven decision-making and significantly improving the company’s stock market value. While Mika’s decision-making encompasses emotional and strategic elements, Tang Yu’s approach emphasizes data-driven analysis. Both CEO robots require human oversight to align with company values and ensure ethical decision-making. The future holds potential for robots to reshape corporate leadership, but ethical concerns and human-robot collaboration remain crucial. Practical implications: The research shows that the corporate management is undergoing change and evolution by integrating humanoid robots into future roles as managers, leaders, and CEOs. CEO robots are expected to reshape corporate leadership through their evolving decision-making capabilities, adaptability, and a focus on data-driven, analytical, and strategic decision-making. Social implications: The introduction of humanoid robots as CEOs represents a significant shift in corporate leadership. While the potential benefits in terms of efficiency and decisionmaking are substantial, the associated social implications, including job displacement and ethical considerations, must be managed carefully to ensure a smooth transition and positive outcomes for society as a whole. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explore the ways in which Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) results can be significantly influenced by ethical management. Design/methodology/approach: There is combined in the paper the research analysis and narrative approach. The social side of ethical management was explored by looking at the history of these companies, focusing on the unethical practices they had to deal with. Findings: As a result of the research performed it became apparent that ethical management is more than just a theory. It affects how businesses interact with staff, comply with legal requirements, safeguard whistleblowers, and evaluate their ethical performance. Research limitations/implications: There are some limitations of the investigation. Deeper research need to be conducted to fully capture the diversity of organizational contexts and industries to understand in what way ethical management can impact their CSR strategy. Purpose: Nowadays, technology and knowledge management are becoming key components in business management methods. Purpose: The paper aims to present factors that contribute to successful IT integration into an organization's culture, and to explain how such integration impacts the business and its leadership. These effects, which can have either a positive or a negative impact, are examined using First City Monument Bank (FCMB), which is located in Nigeria. Design/methodology/approach: The objective is achieved by investigating how the implementation of information technology effects organizational culture and management. The particular focus of the study is restricted to aspects and facets of organizational culture, such as: communication, training, working time and job delivery, business development, motivation of employees, sectorial and productivity development of the banking sector in Nigeria. Purpose: the paper investigates the current scientific problem, that is the risk management strategy in business organisations, in particular, factors caused its types and introduction mechanism, implementation features and priority areas under the conditions of martial law as the example of Ukrainian business structures, which conduct their production activity under critical dangerous conditions connected with permanent rockets attacks on social and production infrastructure more than a year and a half. Design/methodology/approach: The paper uses theoretical methods: analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, abstraction and concretization, mental modelling, systematization and generalization, as well as empirical: observation, description, comparative analysis and social-economic statistics. Findings: The social reconstruction of notions “risk”, “risk management” is made, and determined content, nature, functions, typological risk matrix, types of risk management in business organisations. The essential parameters and key factors of risk management strategy are justified, its subjects and objects are separated; the structure, mechanism and models of institutional and management actions of controlling subjects in the risk management system in business organisations are clarified. The attention is focused on strategic positions, methods, factors and ordinary events of risk management in business enterprises working under the conditions of martial law. The structure of information-logical model of strategic risk management is justified, as well as there are identified priority areas in Ukrainian business structures working under the conditions of full-scale aggression of Russian Federation against Ukraine. Research limitations/implications: Promising areas of further scientific research is extended social efficiency diagnostics in introduction of information-logical model of risk management in business organisations under the conditions of Russian-Ukrainian war. Practical implications: A research results may be used by directors or managers of various business structures, central executive authorities, regional or local authorities, as well as scientific institutions and social services for optimization of management in critical dangerous situations, in particular, under the conditions of crisis or military conflicts. This paper aims to offer a general overview of technology integration in franchise business, providing an initial understanding. Our research involved a review of previous studies on franchising that included technological adaptation. The focus of this paper is to increase the understanding of the use of technology in franchise businesses, addressing the factors and challenges faced by franchise businesses seeking technology integration. The review method was used to explore this topic more deeply. Factors have been discussed where it explains what the purpose of the franchise business is to adopt technology and how it helps operations. In addition, challenges are also explained where they are related to what these franchise businesses are facing in maintaining the adoption of the technology they use in a competitive market. In the last decade, the adoption of technological tools in manufacturing industry, such as the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine Learning (ML), has led to the advent of the industry 4.0 (I4.0). In this scenario, intelligent devices can generate large volumes of data about industrial machinery and equipment that can be used to make maintenance more efficient. Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) is an emerging maintenance strategy that uses systems' Condition Monitoring through IoT sensors installed on machinery to diagnose their faults or estimate their Remaining Useful Life (RUL). This study aims to conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on the use of ML techniques in the field of PHM of industrial mechanical systems and equipment. 50 studies resulted eligible for the above-mentioned SLR. Diagnostics and prognostics approach and the ML algorithm types used in the 50 analyzed papers have been analyzed together with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) used for their validation. From the analyses, it was found that Shallow Learning and Deep Learning (DL) algorithms are the most applied ones, while KPIs are used differently according to the type of task classification or regression. Moreover, results highlighted that many authors still use artificial datasets to test their algorithms, instead of datasets based on real data retrieved by their components. For the last type of datasets, this paper also introduces a schematic framework to standardize the step-by-step diagnostics and prognostics process carried out by the authors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to validate a data collection tool's psychometric properties to explore whether business management research's relevance is a high-order construct made up of its perceived interest and perceived relevance. The authors conducted a confirmatory factor analysis to validate a two-factor scale. The sample was composed of 148 MBA students from a Peruvian business school. Results showed the appropriate levels of validity and reliability and confirmed the usefulness of this data set for exploring the relationship between perceived interest and relevance. Businesses and schools can replicate the validated tool for reviewing their curricula and teaching practices, exploring the gap between business and management research results and advancing managers' research literacy and evidence-based practice in business education and training. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the knowledge network-based intellectual capital of corporate universities and its co-evolution process with knowledge management activities. Design/methodology/approach: An exploratory and multiple case study was conducted, investigating three Chinese corporate universities. Grounded theory was used for data analysis. Findings: This paper finds that the intellectual capital of corporate universities comprises teacher network capital, knowledge process capital and knowledge ba. The steering wheel model is established through the synergistic interaction and promotion among these three types of intellectual capital. The interaction between intellectual capital and the knowledge network within corporate universities constructs the intellectual capital network, which plays the roles of coordinator, knowledge gatekeeper and innovation bridge. The intellectual capital of corporate universities is characterized by sequential inertia. Moreover, the intellectual capital and intellectual capital network are aligned with knowledge management activities at each stage of corporate university development, interacting and following the principles of ladder evolution. Originality/value: A significant contribution of this paper lies in applying the concept of intellectual capital within the fourth-stage ecosystem to a broader range of knowledge networks. By exploring the dynamics and network of intellectual capital in corporate universities, especially the role of intellectual capital networks and the synergy between intellectual capital and knowledge management activities, this study enriches the existing research on knowledge management and intellectual capital of corporate universities. Purpose: This paper aims to theoretically and empirically demonstrate the role played by business continuity management (BCM) to address risks such as trade conflicts and natural disasters. This paper also answers whether compliance with international standards such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 22301 is adequate. Design/methodology/approach: A case study of Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei is conducted to examine how a robust end-to-end BCM system has been established in two decades and in what way it has helped Huawei to efficiently maintain growth under pressure, such as being added to the "Entity List" and the pandemic. Findings: Huawei case contributes to BCM theory in its approach to establishing the BCM system and its well-established BCM model. Huawei establishes and continually improves its BCM system by applying the Plan (establish), Do (implement and operate), Check (monitor and review) and Act (maintain and improve) cycle. Characterized as 4Ps: BCM policy, BCM process, incident management plan and business continuity plan, Huawei BCM system is shaped into a loop with end-to-end BCM process, covering all steps along its value chain – from suppliers and partners to Huawei itself and then on to its customers – with key initiatives for all domains such as R&D, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and global technical services. In practice, implementing international standards such as ISO 22301 enables Huawei to develop business continuity but not enough. Optimizing the BCM system is an ongoing effort, and BCM maturity is ever present: continually improving Huawei's own BCM system and benchmarking against best practices available worldwide. Research limitations/implications: Apart from the case study, other methods such as counter-factual analysis can be used to further test whether Huawei's BCM system is cost-effective. Another direction for future study is whether suggested BCM maturity levels should be supplemented into ISO 22301. In the digital age, how to use digitalization to ensure business continuity is a current issue not just for practitioners such as Huawei but also for researchers worldwide. Practical implications: In practice, implementing international standards such as ISO 22301 enables Huawei to develop business continuity but not enough. Optimizing the BCM system is an ongoing effort, and BCM maturity is ever present: continually improving Huawei's own BCM system and benchmarking against best practices available worldwide. Lighting has emerged as a central concern in the domain of city planning and design in recent decades. Better lighting does more than just make cities safer and more secure; it also makes them more aesthetically pleasing and easier to live in. A single type of optical sensor is no longer sufficient to meet the needs of intelligent lighting for urban roads, and as such, there is a growing demand for cutting-edge control systems that can adapt to the dynamic lighting needs in urban environments. This paper's goal is to create an intelligent urban lighting control system by integrating optical multisensor technology and the gray model (GM model). Programmable logic controller (PLC) serves as the system's central processing unit, with light intensity sensors and color sensor-detecting devices placed strategically throughout each city and linked directly to the controller. Each road streetlight is equipped with a motion sensor detection device that is tasked with identifying the presence of vehicles and pedestrians within its field of view. Data fusion technology is utilized to process the environmental data gathered by optical multisensors, the collected data are then used to control and predict outcomes using the robust prediction capability of the GM model, and the result is a lighting control strategy that is both efficient and intelligent. In the end, the strategy presented in this paper is applied to improving the management of an industrial park lighting system's energy consumption. The results of the evaluations show that the fresh method is successful in dimming, prediction, and control. This conclusively demonstrates the efficacy of the paper's proposed design solution, which integrates optical multisensor technology with sophisticated control algorithms and data analysis to improve the quality of life in urban areas by boosting the efficiency and sustainability of the urban lighting system. The RFID is a useful tool for effective management of organisations’ supply chain activities and competitive competencies. So, as the efficient functioning of the supply chain in any company contributes to the growth of its competitiveness and profitability, the meaning of supply chains takes on a new connotation in the changed conditions for managing business processes. The RFID system, as a technology that is implemented by more and more companies, today occupies a significant place in the agenda of every competitive company. Throughout their business life cycle, firms may experience financial distress. Successful emergence from such distress is important to their multiple stakeholders. Using a sample of publicly listed firms in China that emerged from Special Treatment (an indicator of delisting risk), we focus on the key actions such firms take prior to emergence, namely, fixing the core of the business and earnings management. We examine how these actions are associated with sustainable emergence, which we define as emergence from Special Treatment without reentry in the next 5 years. Consistent with the expectation that shortcut fixes to problems do not yield a long-term solution, we find that repairing the core of the business by improving operating efficiency is positively associated with sustainable emergence, whereas earnings management is negatively associated with it. We also find that the positive (negative) association between fixing the core (earnings management) and sustainable emergence is pronounced only for state-owned enterprises. Purpose of this paper is to determine changes in the research trends in the International Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management by analyzing trends and topics covered by its papers that were published from 2010 to 2020 and available in the Scopus database. Keywords and titles of papers were identified. Analysis was conducted both summarized for all eleven years and individually for intervals of three years. Results showed that the most popular topic was mass customization. Also, usage of information technologies in managerial and engineering processes is becoming immensely popular in the last few years.
