The problem of solving the task of discrete optimization is not completely solved. Lack of publications, scientific developments, algorithms and software products do not give the ability to transfer the mathematical apparatus of solving discrete optimization problems to the class P of computational complexity. All analytical and combinatorial algorithms for solving problems of linear and non-linear optimization are NP completeness. There are developments to improve the efficiency of robotic algorithms, they are filled with requests and actual ones. In this paper, it is proposed to use deterministic and probabilistic methods for forming a priority queue of decision vector components in order to assign positive values to them. After the formation of the variant of the solution, it is possible to vectorize as if the approached solution is taken away from the record value of the goal function, which in exact algorithms is like a solution, which results in a polyp. In this paper has a method for forming a priority line for concretizing the components of the solution vector. The basis of deterministic methods is the idea of a greedy algorithm. The location in the queue is determined by the value of the corresponding component of the cost vector. The appearance of the value of non-visibility in the system of restrictions increases the priority of the component. Behind such a way, another method of determination is modified. Probability assessment probability of priorities is based on the ideas of algorithms in an ant colony and simulated annealing. The scope of probability indicates the significance of the component - a contender for a positive value. A numerical example of a small variability of the task about a knapsack has been introduced, which demonstrates the imitation of a nearby solution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This paper proposes a method of comparative analysis of scientific trajectories based on bibliographic profiles. The bibliographic profile ("meshprint") is a list of MeSH terms (key terms used to index articles in the PubMed), indicating the relative frequency of occurrence of each term in the scientist's articles. Comparison of personalized bibliographic profiles can be represented in the form of a semantic network, where the nodes are the names of scientists, and the relationships are proportional to the calculated measures of similarity of bibliographic profiles. The proposed method was used to analyze the semantic network of scientists united by the academic school of the academician A.I. Archakov. The results of the work allowed us to show the relationship between the scientific trajectories of one scientific school and to correlate the results with world trends.

- Abstract
Preclinical physiological and biochemical studies of the effectiveness of the tested biologically active substances in the conditions of simulated pathology in laboratory animals are an important stage preceding the assessment of the clinical effectiveness of the created specialized foods for therapeutic or preventive nutrition. The aim of this work is a brief review of the developed algorithm for preclinical assessment of the effectiveness of specialized foods, which includes a set of sequential stages of testing the safety, stability, bioavailability and effectiveness of biologically active substances in experiments on laboratory animals. Results . The paper presents a brief review of methodological approaches for in vivo preclinical assessment of the effectiveness of minor plant biologically active substances - polyphenols from bilberry fruits and leaves and phytoecdysteroids extracted from spinach. A beneficial effect of bilberry leaves' polyphenols on carbohydrate and lipid metabolism of male Zucker and Wistar rats was shown, which determined the necessity to increase the effectiveness of the developed polyphenolic ingredient by sorption on a food carrier. When evaluating the in vivo effects of polyphenols from blueberries and leaves sorbed on buckwheat flour, a pronounced hypoglycemic effect was found. The experiments aimed to the assessment of the adaptogenic effects of phytoecdysteroids from spinach leaves showed a significant decrease in the content of the main biomarkers of the stress system, which indicates a «smoothing» of the response of the animal organism to a strong stress impact. Conclusion . The inclusion of minor biologically active substances into the composition of foods for preventive and therapeutic nutrition is the necessary condition to improve their effectiveness. The scientific and practical significance of the preclinical evaluation to a decisive extent depends on the presence of a correctly selected biomodel. Thus, the adequacy of the assessment of the effects of minor biologically active substances as functional food ingredients in the composition of the specialized food products depends on the reproducibility of pathological processes (clinical, biochemical and morphological disorders) characteristic for the studied disease on the selected in vivo model., Competing Interests: The authors declare no overt and potential conflict of interest related to the publication of this article., (Copyright© GEOTAR-Media Publishing Group.)

MULTIAGENT systems ,ALGORITHMS ,DISTRIBUTED algorithms - Abstract
The task of path finding by an agent is one of the basic tasks and is of great practical importance. As a rule, this is an optimization task that is solved in the space of the state graph in order to minimize the length of the path. Such a task becomes more difficult and becomes even more popular if it is solved on the basis of one graph space by several agents. In this case, another practically important optimization parameter appears, which is expressed by the number of conflicts between agents. Such an abstract formulation of the task has numerous variants of formalization and a large number of approaches to its solution. In this paper, the main element of the approach is the application of the classic Dijkstra algorithm, which is executed sequentially by each agent. When finding the shortest route, each agent modifies the graph space in such a way as to reduce the probability of conflicts with subsequent agents. This approach is original and a number of computational experiments were performed to verify it using software developed for this purpose. The experiments that were conducted demonstrate the adequate behavior of the main algorithm. The work analyzes the limitations inherent in the proposed approach within the framework of the abstract formulation of the task. The directions of further development of the basic approach have been determined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The paper gives an original algorithm for the management of patients with stable coronary artery disease, preserved/moderately reduced left ventricular systolic function, and high-grade ventricular arrhythmias from the first registration of the latter to the choice of treatment policy. Great attention is paid to the assessment of a private clinical case, by determining the nature of arrhythmias, and to the involvement of autonomic regulation in the genesis of ventricular arrhythmias. The importance of topical diagnosis of ventricular arrhythmias and identification of psychological disorders is emphasized. Diagnostic problems are solved in a step-by-step fashion using up-to-date techniques. The key point of the algorithm proposed is to prevent sudden cardiac death.

Very often, outputs provided by GIS functions and analysis are assumed as exact results. However, they are influenced by certain uncertainty which may affect the decisions based on those results. It is very complex and almost impossible to calculate that uncertainty using classical mathematical models because of very complex algorithms that are used in GIS analyses. In this paper we discuss an alternative method, i.e. the use of stochastic Monte Carlo simulations to estimate the uncertainty of flow accumulation. The case study area included the broader area of the Municipality of Cacak, where Monte Carlo stochastic simulations were applied in order to create one hundred possible outputs of flow accumulation. A statistical analysis was performed on the basis of these versions, and the "most likely' version of flow accumulation in association with its confidence bounds (standard deviation) was created. Further, this paper describes the most important phases in the process of estimating uncertainty, such as variogram modelling and chooses the right number of simulations. Finally, it makes suggestions on how to effectively use and discuss the results and their practical significance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper proposes an original algorithm for the management of patients with ventricular arrhythmia from its first registration to choice of treatment policy. Using modern diagnostic methods, much attention is paid to the identification of myocardial structural and ischemic changes and also to the involvement of the autonomic and central nervous systems in ventricular arrhythmogenesis. The diagnostic problems are solved step-by-step. The role of psychological diagnosis is accentuated. Longitudinal electrocardiogram monitoring with telemetric data transmission can promptly initiate treatment of patients in an outpatient setting and, in a number of cases, without discontinuing work. The key point of the algorithm proposed is to prevent sudden cardiac death.

- Abstract
In the present paper the dynamics of the nonlinear conformational excitations--kinks, in inhomogeneous polynucleotide DNA chains is investigated. To calculate the kink rest energy E0 and its length d the method of dynamical interval is used. This makes it possible to take into account that all coefficients of the model dynamic equation--the sine-Gordon equation depend on the sequence of bases. It is shown that the method gives an opportunity to calculate dynamical characteristics of any artificial and real sequences that is important for implementing tasks associated with the search and analysis of functionally important DNA sites.

The transition from the identification of individual risk factors to the assessment of an overall or total risk, in other words, to the creation of prognostic models should be now recognized to be one of the most important achievements in the epidemiology of chronic noncommunicable diseases. The paper comparatively analyzes major current prognostic algorithms for assessing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and their events and the advantages and disadvantages of these algorithms. The authors provide evidence that it is necessary to create national risk models, including the most promising new indicators.

The paper studies antiatherogenic changes of serum lipid profile in various conditions, namely: 1) the mountain and climatic treatment on Caucasian resorts, 2) periodic hypobaric therapy, 3) trekking in mountains with regular cold tests (the Tibetan yoga gTum-mo). We made the comparison of rate of change of serum total cholesterol, high (HDL), low (LDL) and very low density (VLDL) lipoproteins, and also triglycerides by use of exponential model of changes of lipid profile. By application of new computing algorithm it was proved that the maximal rate of antiatherogenic changes of serum lipid profile (decrease in the total cholesterol and in LDL, increase in HDL) is characteristic for a combination of three conditions: 1) moderate altitude hypoxia, 2) moderate physical activities and 3) special exercises for increase of cold tolerance (the Tibetan yoga gTum-mo).

Review of literature dealing with fractures of frontal bone involving frontal sinus is presented. 3 cases of successful surgical treatment of different frontal sinus injuries are reported in the paper. The author demonstrates importance of selection of correct surgical tactics for primary reconstruction of frontal bone using craniofacial osteosynthesis. The key moment of surgical procedure is making a decision about preservation or elimination (obliteration or cranialization) of the frontal sinus which should be based on meticulous analysis of symptoms and CT data preoperatively and intraoperatively. Special attention should be paid to application of pericranial flap for closure of fractured posterior wall of the frontal sinus. Original technique of using a split pericranial pedicled flap for isolation of dura from sinus and stimulation of reparative osteogenesis is described.

- Abstract
Knowledge of 3D-structure of protein-ligand complex is a major prerequisite for understanding the functioning mechanism of cellular proteins and membrane receptors. This is also of a great help in rational drug design projects. In the present paper we briefly review the molecular docking approaches used to predict possible orientation of a ligand in the protein binding site. The recent trends to improve the accuracy and efficiency of docking algorithms are demonstrated with the results obtained in Laboratory of Biomolecular Modeling. Particular attention is paid to protein-ligand hydrophobic and stacking interactions responsible for molecular recognition of ligand fragments. Such type of interactions are not always adequately represented in scoring criteria of docking applications that leads to mismatch in 3D-structure complexes predictions. That is why further inquiry of methods to account for these interactions is now the area of active research.

The paper presents results of testing a modified algorithm for predicting virus ID50 values in a host of interest by extrapolation from a model host taking into account immune neutralizing factors and thermal inactivation of the virus. The method was tested for A/Aichi/2/68 influenza virus in SPF Wistar rats, SPF CD-1 mice and conventional ICR mice. Each species was used as a host of interest while the other two served as model hosts. Primary lung and trachea cells and secretory factors of the rats' airway epithelium were used to measure parameters needed for the purpose of prediction. Predicted ID50 values were not significantly different (p = 0.05) from those experimentally measured in vivo. The study was supported by ISTC/DARPA Agreement 450p.

- Abstract
Knowledge of the spatial structure of proteins is a prerequisite for both awareness of their functional mechanisms and the framework for rational drug discovery and design. Meanwhile, direct structural determination is often hampered or impractical due to the complexity, expensiveness, and limited capabilities of experimental techniques. These issues are especially pronounced for integral membrane proteins. On numerous occasions, the theoretical prediction of protein structures may facilitate the process by exploiting physical or empirical principles. This paper surveys modern techniques for the prediction of the spatial structure of proteins using computer algorithms, and the main emphasis is placed on the most "complex" targets - membrane proteins (MPs). The first part of the review describes de novo methods based on empirical physical principles; in the second part, a comparative modeling philosophy, which accounts for the structure of related proteins, is described. Special focus is made regarding pharmacologically relevant classes of G-coupled receptors, receptor tyrosine ki-nases, and other MPs. Algorithms for the assessment of the models quality and potential fields of application of computer models are discussed.

- Abstract
Identification of groups of co-regulated genes (regulons) is an important part of studying transcriptional regulation. One possible approach is to cluster regulatory sites that were found using experimental or computational techniques, such as phylogenetic footprinting. This strategy doesn't require a priori knowledge about co-regulation and allows finding putative new members of known groups of co-regulated genes (i.e. a new regulon). Also, it allows finding new putative regulons, which is especially important for poorly annotated genomes. We have developed ClusterTree-RS, an algorithm for clustering regulatory signals using binary trees; it is presented in this paper along with some testing results on simulated and real data. The algorithm is implemented in Java and took about 2 hours 40 minutes to cluster 1500 input signals on a computer with AMD Athlon 1.91 GHz CPU.

- Abstract
The paper deals with the development and substantiation of various neurophysiological procedures during preoperative examination of patients with symptomatic epilepsy. The neurophysiological findings of 133 patients with drug-resistant temporal lobe epilepsy were applied. Unprogressive damage to the medial portions of the temporal lobe was verified in 18 patients. Low- and higher-grade malignancy of the temporal lobe was confirmed in 91 and 24 patients, respectively. This yielded an algorithm of the optimum neurophysiological preoperative examination. Emphasis is laid on the differences in applied procedures depending on the side of organic lesion location. Thus, the use of the developed algorithm makes it possible to lighten the selection of candidates for surgical treatment of drug-resistant symptomatic epilepsy and to optimize the examination of epileptic patients with different types of brain damage.

- Abstract
The paper discusses the influence of lung anomalies on the progress of congenital heart diseases (CHD) in infants, as well as diagnostic value of radiography and ultraspeed computed tomography (CT). The four-year experience of the authors includes preoperative examination of 178 infants with CHD (mean age 5.8 +/- 0.6 months, mean weight 5.2 +/- 0.3 kg). Lung anomalies were determined in 24 patients (13.5%) on plain films and in 85 patients (47.8%)--by means of CT. The stenosis of main bronchi in combination with lobar emphysema and lung hypoplasia were found to be the most frequent and severe predictors of respiratory disorders. The obtained data suggest that CT examination may be recommended in infants with CHD for precise diagnostics of associated lung anomalies and further prevention or early management of respiratory complications.

- Abstract
Comparative assessments of the efficiency and noise immunity of the algorithms detecting the shock cardiac rhythms (SCR) are described in the paper. It is suggested to use the rejection filter of ventricular fibrillation as the principle algorithm for the SCR detection in an automated external defibrillator. The use of the method combining the after-threshold interval and the method of spectral analysis is demonstrated to be preferable for a portable external defibrillator.

Image formation in gamma-ray cameras is made by defining scintillation coordinates, produced by the absorption of gamma-quanta. By the present time different methods for scintillation coordinates defining have been developed based on previously measured and calculated amplitude-spatial features of a photodetector. The paper gives a method for estimating scintillation coordinates without any prior information. The method is based on approximation of the photodetecor response surface, located at the output window of permanent scintillation detector, on the scintillation light distribution function. For the approximation bicubic smoothing splines were used, which weight coefficients are set based on statistical features of measurement results. The paper proposes the approximation algorithm, taking into account geometry of photodetectors distribution at the output window of detector in the points of trigonal lattice. The algorithm can be applied in gamma cameras and other systems of gamma-rays imaging when using detectors such as gamma cameras. Relatively high computational intensiveness as compared to the Anger's method makes the proposed method more appropriate for off-line processing of accumulated data aimed at improving the image quality. Despite the wide spread of computing devices and mathematical optimization methods in various fields of knowledge, little attention is paid to optimization of solving the problems of labor safety. In the author's opinion the promising solution is developing the methods of sound-absorbing cover optimization based on non-linear programming, one of which has been the objective of the work. The method for estimation of the optimal cover in premises with multi-tone noise conditions is proposed in the paper. Different noise tones can be absorbed by different materials with the most suitable properties. The method is based on random selection of surface area values of different materials, with further selection of the optimal cover. The paper gives the estimation algorithm and the obtained results using the Mathcad computer program. The estimation results indicate the regularities of achieving the optimum and a significant economic effect. The proposed estimation method and algorithm can be used for taking labor safety measures for noise reduction, namely, sound-absorbing covers design for production facilities. The paper has a scientific novelty, based on random selection of materials surface area values, and practical significance based on economic effect and working conditions improvement. - Abstract
The paper is concerned with evidence for the choice of the treatment and rehabilitation policy of patients suffering from lower extremity stump ischemia. Altogether 446 patients with obliterating diseases of arteries and unilateral post-amputation defects of the lower extremities were examined. Of these, degree III-IV stump ischemia was verified in 90 patients, transient stump ischemia was present in 259 patients. In 30 patients, stump pains or defects of the skin were determined by defects and discuses of the stump; 67 patients were identified to have no clinical signs of ischemia and no defects or diseases of the stump, 43 patients underwent arterial reconstructions whereas reamputations of the extremity were undertaken in 29 patients. The remaining patients with stump ischemia received conservative therapy. The algorithm of the choice of the treatment policy and rehabilitation of patients was worked out depending on the severity of the clinical manifestations of stump ischemia and the level of post-amputation defect.

- Abstract
The paper reviews the existing methods for identifying QRS complexes. An attempt is made to make a well-defined classification of available algorithms in an approach to QRS detection. Emphasis is laid on the consideration of specific requirements for such algorithms by computer-aided real-time ECG systems. A task of choice of the most suitable method is formulated. An algorithm based on the well-known principles of frequency-time detection is proposed as an alternative solution of this task. The algorithm makes it possible to single out QRS complexes from real-time ECG and to effectively make a digital signal processing by available optimized libraries. The method initially used in the Matlab package has been integrated within the laboratory computerized ECG system.
