X80 steel plays a pivotal role in the development of oil and gas pipelines; however, its welded joints, particularly the heat-affected zone (HAZ), are susceptible to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) due to their complex microstructures. This study investigates the SCC initiation mechanisms of X80 steel welded joints under practical pipeline conditions with varying levels of cathodic protection. The SCC behaviors were analyzed through electrochemical measurements, hydrogen permeation tests, and interrupted slow strain rate tensile tests (SSRTs) conducted in a near-neutral pH environment under different potential conditions (OCP, −1.1 VSCE, −1.2 VSCE). These behaviors were influenced by microstructure type, grain size, martensite/austenite (M/A) constituents, and dislocation density. The sub-zones of the weld exhibited differing SCC resistance, with the fine-grain (FG) HAZ, base metal (zone), welded metal (WM) zone, and coarse-grain (CG) HAZ in descending order. In particular, the presence of coarse grains, low dislocation density, and extensive M/A islands collectively increased corrosion susceptibility and SCC sensitivity in the CGHAZ compared to other sub-zones. The SCC initiation mechanisms of the sub-zones within the X80-steel welded joint were primarily anodic dissolution (AD) under open-circuit potential (OCP) condition, shifting to either hydrogen-enhanced local plasticity (HELP) or hydrogen embrittlement (HE) mechanisms at −1.1 VSCE or −1.2 VSCE, respectively. Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common malignant tumors, with a high rate of metastasis and recurrence. Circular RNA_0001165 (circ_0001165) has been shown to be involved in the advance of PCa. However, the interaction between circ_0001165 and microRNA in PCa has not been studied. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was used to detect the expression of related genes in PCa tissues and cells. The expression of related epithelial-mesenchymal transition proteins was detected by Western blotting. The interaction of miR-654-3p with circ_0001165 or dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase 1 (DDAH1) has been notarized by Dual-luciferase reporter assay and RNA immunoprecipitation assay. Xenotransplantation experiments confirmed the function of circ_0001165 in vivo. Circ_0001165 and DDAH1 are significantly high-expressed in PCa tissues and cells. Silencing circ_0001165 can reduce the proliferation, migration, invasion and tube formation of LNCaP and DU145 cells. MiR-654-3p is a target of circ_0001165. Silencing circ_0001165 can inhibit the malignant behavior of PCa cells by releasing miR-654-3p. In addition, DDAH1 is a target of miR-654-3p. Overexpression of DDAH1 partially restored the inhibitory effect of miR-654-3p on cell proliferation. Animal experiments confirmed the anti-tumor effect of silence circ_0001165 in vivo. Background: Despite a large amount of behavioral interventions to reduce human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-related high-risk sexual behaviors, consistent condom use remains suboptimal among men who have sex with men (MSM). However, current databases are lack of synthesized evidence to explain why MSM practiced condomless sex.Objective: Our study aims to conduct a systematic review and meta-synthesis of 39 eligible qualitative studies to explore the barriers to condom use among MSM.Methods: A systematic review and meta-synthesis of qualitative studies (1994-2021). On March 4, 2021, a comprehensive search was conducted in 14 electronic databases. The study was conducted based on the Joanna Briggs Institute's recommendations.Results: Thematic analysis produced six synthesized themes, which were classified into three levels according to the Social-ecology Model. Individual level barriers to condom use included physical discomfort, lack of HIV/STI-related knowledge and substance use; interpersonal-level barrier was mainly the condom stigma, namely regarding using condom as symbols of distrust or HIV/sexually transmitted infections (STIs) prevention, or as violating traditional cognition of sex, or as an embarrassing topic; environmental/structural-level barriers included situational unavailability, unaffordability of condoms and power imbalance in the sexual relationship.Conclusion: This meta-synthesis offered in-depth understanding of condom use barriers for MSM and could guide the development of multifactorial interventions according to the identified barriers, especially targeting to reduce condom stigma, which has not been focused and intervened previously. The aim of the study is to investigate the mechanism of action of Disulfiram against colon cancer through a network pharmacology approach. The targets were then imported into the Cytoscape 3.7.2 software to construct a network of active ingredient targets and were imported into the STRING database to construct a protein-protein interaction (PPI) network, and the Bisogenet plug-in in Cytoscape 3.7.2 was used for network topology analysis. Gene ontology (GO) enrichment analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis were performed on the potential targets of Yiqi and Baiyu Tang for colon cancer using the R-language Bioconductor platform, and the results were imported into Cytoscape 3.7.2 to obtain KEGG network relationship maps. Molecular docking software Autodock Vina was used to map the core targets to the active ingredients. A total of 119 chemical components and 694 disease targets were obtained, including 113 intersecting targets. The key targets included AKT1 and TP53, and GO functional analysis mainly related to ubiquitination and apoptosis, etc. KEGG analysis showed that the treatment of colon cancer with Ganchenzan mainly acted through cancer-related signaling pathways such as AGE-RAGE and P13K-Akt, and the molecular docking results showed the best binding performance with TP53. • Investigated the influence of loading rates on fracture toughness of AISI 1020 and API X80 steels during in-situ hydrogen charging. • Demonstrated the effect of loading rates on hydrogen concentration and its distribution along the crack front in both types of steels. • Revealed crack initiation mechanisms through actual observations of fracture morphology and numerical simulations of hydrogen distribution. • Suggested that current hydrogen compatibility standards should be modified to cover the loading rates during the actual service. This study focuses on the effect of hydrogen on fracture toughness of AISI 1020 and API 5L X80 steels using experimental measurement technique and numeric simulation. Hydrogen was introduced into Single Edge Notch Bend (SENB) specimens through in-situ electrochemical charging techniques. The study varied the loading rates (K̇) and observed a significant reduction in the fracture toughness of both types of steels with hydrogen presence, worsening as loading rates decreased. The findings illustrated that the current standards of hydrogen compatibility test, which specifies a loading rate that ranges from 0.1 M P a m / m i n to 1 M P a m / m i n in toughness tests, may produce non-conservative results by not fully capturing the degradation at lower loading rates (K̇ <＜ 0.1 M P a m / m i n). The low-strength steel (AISI 1020) showed a fracture mode transition from the Hydrogen-Enhanced Localized Plasticity (HELP) to the Hydrogen-Enhanced Decohesion (HEDE) as the K̇ decreases. Nevertheless, the crack re-initiation sites are always found at the tips of pre-cracks, which coincide with the areas of a high local hydrogen concentration and a high plastic strain. In contrast, the crack initiation sites in X80 steel tend to shift from the regions with high-strain (i.e. near the crack front) to areas with high hydrostatic stress (some distance away from the crack front) as the K̇ decreases, although it is still a predominantly quasi-cleavage (QC) fracture mode. Finite element analysis further revealed that the diffusion and trapping of hydrogen atoms are significantly influenced by the gradient of hydrostatic stress and increment of plastic strain in the crack front region. In AISI 1020 steel, the concentration of trapped hydrogen significantly exceeds that of diffusible lattice interstitial hydrogen; In this case, the trapped hydrogen predominately dictates the distribution profile of total hydrogen at all K̇ conditions, whereas in X80 steel, the relative dominance of diffusible and trapped hydrogen depends on the loading rate: at lower K̇, diffusible hydrogen concentration at lattice sites exceeds that of the trapped hydrogen and there is a dynamic equilibrium relationship between the hydrogen induced by hydrostatic stress and the hydrogen trapped by plastic strain; at higher K̇, the hydrogen in trap sites dominate the hydrogen distribution. The differences in hydrogen concentration distribution are linked with different crack nucleation behaviours of the two steels under different loading rates, as well corroborated by fractographic observation of the actual fracture surface. The corrosion and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behaviors of 20#, X60, and X80 pipeline steels in a near-neutral pH environment were investigated by means of electrochemical measurement, immersion test, and interrupted slow strain rate tensile (SSRT) test. The propensity for SCC, as indicated by the stress threshold value for crack initiation, was found to be dependent on the type of steel microstructure. Cracks were initiated in the high-strength steel X80 at a stress less than its yield strength, whereas in the other lower-grade steels, the initiation of cracks occurred after the yielding point. The threshold stress of SCC initiation in the near-neutral pH environment for 20#, X60, and X80 steels were 130.64% σys, 106.79% σys, and 86.92% σys, respectively. The SCC of 20# and X60 were characterized by the formation of transgranular and intergranular cracks, while X80 steel was only by transgranular cracking. The occurrence of corrosion had a great effect on crack initiation and the growth at the later stage. The latter involved hydrogen effects. Unicystic ameloblastoma (UAM) in the pediatric population is a rare clinical entity that has not been well addressed in the literature. Radical approaches affect a growing young patient's physical and psychological development, so conservative approaches are widely used for management in children. This report describes the case of a 9‐year‐old girl with UAM of the mandible, which also involved the impaction of the first and second premolars. Marsupialization with orthodontic treatment was performed to shrink the lesion and upright the first premolar involved in the tumor. Ten months after marsupialization, the lesion had healed entirely. The combination of conservative surgery and orthodontic treatment effectively shrank the lesion, preserving mandibular growth, preserving the involved first and second premolars, and promoting the eruption of the teeth. Surface mechanical attrition treatment (SMAT) is a unique method for the nanoscale refinement of a surface grain structure without changing the alloy chemical composition. Herein, the effect of SMAT on the corrosion resistance of 316L stainless steel in artificial sea water used as a corrosive medium has been investigated. As a result, a passive film and a nanostructured layer were formed on the SMAT-processed 316L stainless steel surface, which considerably increased its corrosion resistance during short-term testing. However, after a long-term exposure to the corrosive medium, the treated sample exhibited deterioration of its corrosion properties because of the micro-strain build-up and the presence of defects in the surface layer. Background: Partner notification and testing could expand HIV testing and link infections to care. We performed a meta-analysis on HIV testing rate and prevalence among couples of people diagnosed with HIV in China. Methods: Six electronic databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, the China National Knowledge Internet, and WanFang) and abstracts of five HIV/sexually transmitted infections conferences were searched up to February 1, 2020. Meta-analysis was conducted using a random-effects model to assess HIV testing rate and prevalence among couples of Chinese people diagnosed with HIV. Results: Of 3,657 records retrieved, 42 studies were identified. Among them, three studies were conducted among pregnant women and 10 among men who have sex with men. The pooled uptake rate of couples HIV testing among Chinese people diagnosed with HIV was 65% (95% confidence interval, 57% -73%; 23 studies). The pooled HIV prevalence among couples who had an HIV test was 28% [24%-32%] (38 studies). Subgroup analyses showed that the pooled couples HIV testing uptake rates among pregnant women and men who have sex with men were 76% [66%-86%] (3 studies) and 49% [30%-68%] (8 studies), and the pooled HIV prevalence in two populations was 53% [27%-78%] (3 studies) and 14% [10%-17%] (10 studies), respectively. Conclusions: Nearly two-thirds of couples of people diagnosed with HIV have had an HIV test, of whom 28% were positive. Couples of MSM with a positive HIV diagnosis had a lower testing rate, which indicates more effective strategies need to be carried out to improve couples HIV testing among Chinese MSM. Background: The HIV epidemic is rapidly growing among men who have sex with men (MSM) in China, yet HIV testing remains suboptimal. We aimed to determine the impact of HIV self-testing (HIVST) interventions on frequency of HIV testing among Chinese MSM and their sexual partners.Methods and Findings: This randomized controlled trial was conducted in 4 cities in Hunan Province, China. Sexually active and HIV-negative MSM were recruited from communities and randomly assigned (1:1) to intervention or control arms. Participants in the control arm had access to site-based HIV testing (SBHT); those in the intervention arm were provided with 2 free finger-prick-based HIVST kits at enrollment and could receive 2 to 4 kits delivered through express mail every 3 months for 1 year in addition to SBHT. They were encouraged to distribute HIVST kits to their sexual partners. The primary outcome was the number of HIV tests taken by MSM participants, and the secondary outcome was the number of HIV tests taken by their sexual partners during 12 months of follow-up. The effect size for the primary and secondary outcomes was evaluated as the standardized mean difference (SMD) in testing frequency between intervention and control arms. Between April 14, 2018, and June 30, 2018, 230 MSM were recruited. Mean age was 29 years; 77% attended college; 75% were single. The analysis population who completed at least one follow-up questionnaire included 110 (93%, 110/118) in the intervention and 106 (95%, 106/112) in the control arm. The average frequency of HIV tests per participant in the intervention arm (3.75) was higher than that in the control arm (1.80; SMD 1.26; 95% CI 0.97-1.55; P < 0.001). This difference was mainly due to the difference in HIVST between the 2 arms (intervention 2.18 versus control 0.41; SMD 1.30; 95% CI 1.01-1.59; P < 0.001), whereas the average frequency of SBHT was comparable (1.57 versus 1.40, SMD 0.14; 95% CI -0.13 to 0.40; P = 0.519). The average frequency of HIV tests among sexual partners of each participant was higher in intervention than control arm (2.65 versus 1.31; SMD 0.64; 95% CI 0.36-0.92; P < 0.001), and this difference was also due to the difference in HIVST between the 2 arms (intervention 1.41 versus control 0.36; SMD 0.75; 95% CI 0.47-1.04; P < 0.001) but not SBHT (1.24 versus 0.96; SMD 0.23; 95% CI -0.05 to 0.50; P = 0.055). Zero-inflated Poisson regression analyses showed that the likelihood of taking HIV testing among intervention participants were 2.1 times greater than that of control participants (adjusted rate ratio [RR] 2.10; 95% CI 1.75-2.53, P < 0.001), and their sexual partners were 1.55 times more likely to take HIV tests in the intervention arm compared with the control arm (1.55, 1.23-1.95, P < 0.001). During the study period, 3 participants in the intervention arm and none in the control arm tested HIV positive, and 8 sexual partners of intervention arm participants also tested positive. No other adverse events were reported. Limitations in this study included the data on number of SBHT were solely based on self-report by the participants, but self-reported number of HIVST in the intervention arm was validated; the number of partner HIV testing was indirectly reported by participants because of difficulties in accessing each of their partners.Conclusions: In this study, we found that providing free HIVST kits significantly increased testing frequency among Chinese MSM and effectively enlarged HIV testing coverage by enhancing partner HIV testing through distribution of kits within their sexual networks.Trial Registration: Chinese Clinical Trial Registry ChiCTR1800015584. Promoting self-care behaviours in heart failure management is an important goal and challenge for healthcare systems worldwide. Using the situation-specific theory of heart failure self-care, this study examined the relationships of person-related, problem-related, and environment-related factors to self-care behaviours and the mediating role of self-care confidence in these relationships. We analysed the baseline data from a previous randomised controlled trial study involving 213 patients with heart failure. Structural equation modelling was used to test our hypothesised model that included age, income, education, depression, anxiety, number of comorbidities, social support, self-care confidence, and self-care behaviours. Depression and anxiety were measured by the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale. Social support was measured by the Short Form of the Social Support Questionnaire satisfaction subscale. The Self-Care of Heart Failure Index (version 6.2) was used to assess self-care confidence and self-care behaviours (i.e., self-care maintenance and self-care management). The final model included age, depression, social support, and self-care confidence as independent variables. Age had a direct relationship with self-care maintenance (β = 0.235, p < 0.001) but not self-care management (β = 0.067, p = 0.179); better social support was directly associated with higher levels of self-care confidence (β = 0.267, p < 0.001); and higher levels of self-care confidence were associated with better self-care maintenance (β = 0.573, p < 0.001) and self-care management (β = 0.683, p < 0.001). The result showed an indirect relationship between social support and self-care maintenance through the mediator of self-care confidence (β = 0.153, p < 0.001), as well as an indirect relationship between social support and self-care management through self-care confidence (β = 0.182, p < 0.001). Satisfactory social support can increase self-care confidence, thereby increasing self-care maintenance and management. The findings of this study also implied that self-care maintenance can increase with increasing age. Future interventions directly targeting assessment and management of self-care confidence, available social support, and the age of patients may help enhance their heart failure self-care behaviours. Abstract To investigate formation mechanisms of secondary organic carbon (SOC) in Eastern China, measurements were conducted in an urban site in Shanghai in the summer of 2015. A period of high O 3 concentrations (daily peak > 120 ppb) was observed, during which daily maximum SOC concentrations exceeding 9.0 μg/(C·m3). Diurnal variations of SOC concentration and SOC/organic carbon (OC) ratio exhibited both daytime and nighttime peaks. The SOC concentrations correlated well with O x (= O 3 + NO 2) and relative humidity in the daytime and nighttime, respectively, suggesting that secondary organic aerosol formation in Shanghai is driven by both photochemical production and aqueous phase reactions. Single particle mass spectrometry was used to examine the formation pathways of SOC. Along with the daytime increase of SOC, the number fraction of elemental carbon (EC) particles coated with OC quickly increased from 38.1% to 61.9% in the size range of 250–2000 nm, which was likely due to gas-to-particle partitioning of photochemically generated semi-volatile organic compounds onto EC particles. In the nighttime, particles rich in OC components were highly hygroscopic, and number fraction of these particles correlated well with relative humidity and SOC/OC nocturnal peaks. Meanwhile, as an aqueous-phase SOC tracer, particles that contained oxalate-Fe(III) complex also peaked at night. These observations suggested that aqueous-phase processes had an important contribution to the SOC nighttime formation. The influence of aerosol acidity on SOC formation was studied by both bulk and single particle level measurements, suggesting that the aqueous-phase formation of SOC was enhanced by particle acidity. Background: Globally, four out of ten individuals living with HIV have not been tested for HIV. Testing is especially important for men who have sex with men (MSM), among whom an increasing HIV epidemic has been identified in many regions of the world. As a supplement to site-based HIV testing services, HIV self-testing (HIVST) provides a promising approach to promote HIV testing. However, evidence is scattered and not well-summarized on the effect of HIVST to improve HIV testing behaviors, especially for MSM. Methods: Seven databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, PsycINFO, CINAHL Plus, WanFang, and China National Knowledge Internet) and conference abstracts from six HIV/sexually transmitted infections conferences were searched from January 2000-April 2017. Results: Of 1,694 records retrieved, 23 studies were identified, 9 conducted in resource-limited countries and 14 in high-income countries. The pooled results showed that HIVST increased HIV test frequency for MSM by one additional test in a 6-month period (mean difference = 0.88 [95% CI 0.52–1.24]). The pooled proportion of first-time testers among those who took HIVST was 18.7% (95% CI: 9.9–32.4) globally, with a rate 3.32 times higher in resource-limited country settings (32.9% [95% CI: 21.3–47.6]) than in high-income countries (9.9% [95% CI: 7.4–13.8]). The pooled proportions included non-recent testers, 32.9% (95% CI: 28.1–38.3); ever or currently married MSM, 16.7% (95% CI: 14.5–19.4); and HIV positive men, 3.8% (95% CI: 2.0–5.7) globally; 6.5% [95% CI: 0.38–12.3] in resource-limited country settings; and 2.9% [95% CI: 2.0–5.0] in high-income countries). The rates reported for linkage to care ranged from 31.3% to 100%. Conclusions: HIVST could increase HIV testing frequency and potentially have capacity equivalent to that of site-based HIV testing services to reach first-time, delayed, married, and HIV-infected testers among MSM and link them to medical care. However, more rigorous study designs are needed to explore the specific self-testing approach (oral-fluid based or finger-prick based) on improving HIV testing for MSM in different social and economic settings. Objective: HIV continues to be a global challenge. Key recommendations for HIV prevention and treatment are presented on rapid antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiation. However, several studies showed a high prevalence of delayed ART initiation. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to assess the prevalence of delayed ART initiation among HIV-infected patients globally. Methods: This review summarised eligible studies conducted between January 2015 and August 2022 on the prevalence of delayed ART initiation in HIV-infected adults (age ≥ 15). Relevant studies were systematic searched through PubMed/Medline, EMBASE, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, and Chongqing VIP databases. Random-effects models were used to calculate pooled prevalence estimates. The heterogeneity was evaluated using Cochran's Q test and I2 statistics. Moreover, potential sources of heterogeneity were explored using univariate subgroup analysis. Results: Data on the prevalence of delayed ART initiation was pooled across 29 studies involving 34,937 participants from 15 countries. The overall pooled prevalence of delayed ART initiation was 36.1% [95% confidence interval (CI), 29.7–42.5%]. In subgroup analysis, the estimated pooled prevalence decreased with age. By sex, the prevalence was higher among male patients (39.3%, 95% CI: 32.2–46.4%) than female (36.5%, 95% CI: 26.9–50.7%). Patients with high CD4 cell count were more likely to delay ART initiation than those with low CD4 cell count (>500cells/mm3: 40.3%; 201-500cells/mm3: 33.4%; and ≤200cells/mm3: 25.3%). Conclusions: Our systematic review and meta-analysis identified a high prevalence of delayed ART initiation. The prolonged time interval between diagnosis and treatment is a prevalent and unaddressed problem that should spur initiatives from countries globally. A method using partial least squares (PLS) for simultaneous determination of neutral and uronic sugars was developed in this paper. This method is based on the development of the reaction between the analytes and anthrone. The calibration set was built with 25 binary solutions at the concentrations ranging from 20 to 100 μg/mL for glucose and from 10 to 50 μg/mL for glucuronic acid. An independent prediction set was utilized to check the robustness of the PLS calibration model. The root-mean-square error of prediction (RMSEP) values for neutral and uronic sugars are 1.2233 and 1.9367, respectively. The correlation coefficient for the prediction set ( R p 2 ) values for them are 0.9971 and 0.9767, respectively. Compared with the univariate method, the proposed method improves detection accuracy. In addition, it was also applied to commercial polysaccharides and Glycyrrhiza uralensis polysaccharides (GUPs), and the results indicated that the PLS model was suitable for simultaneous determination of neutral and uronic sugars. Glycyrrhiza uralensis , an important Chinese medicine, has a long history of use in China. In this study, three water-soluble polysaccharides fractions (GUPs-1, GUPs-2 and GUPs-3) were isolated and purified from the root of G. uralensis by DEAE-52 and Sephadex G-100 column chromatography. Physicochemical properties and antioxidant activities of the three purified polysaccharides were investigated. The molecular weights of GUPs-1, GUPs-2 and GUPs-3 were 10,160, 11,680 and 13,360 Da, and the ratios of glucose were 23.4%, 14% and 1.13%, respectively. The antioxidant activities of the three purified polysaccharides followed the order: GUPs-1 > GUPs-2 > GUPs-3. GUPs with lower molecular weight and higher ratio of glucose, basically exhibited higher antioxidant activities at the same concentration. A method for quantitative analysis of the polysaccharides contents in Glycyrrhiza was developed based on near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, and by adopting the phenol–sulphuric acid method as the reference method. This is the first time to use this method for predicting polysaccharides contents in Glycyrrhiza . To improve the predictive ability (or robustness) of the model, the competitive adaptive reweighted sampling (CARS) mathematical strategy was used for selecting relevance wavelengths. By using the restricted relevance wavelengths, the PLS model was more efficient and parsimonious. The coefficient of determination of prediction ( R p 2 ) and the root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) of the obtained optimum models were 0.9119 and 0.4350 for polysaccharides. The selected relevance wavelengths were also interpreted. It proved that all the wavelengths selected by CARS were related to functional groups of polysaccharide. Conjugation to a carrier protein is essential to give rise to the antigenicity of hapten. Three carrier proteins e.g. KLH (Keyhole Limpet hemocyanin), BSA (bovine serum albumin), and OVA (Ovalbumin) were used mostly. KLH is advantageous to the others, majorly owing to its strong immunogenicity and limited usage in other biological assays. However, the cost of obtaining Keyhole Limpet is high and the solubility of KLH is not as well as the other carriers, especially after hapten conjugation. Here, we extracted the shrimp hemocyanin (SHC) from Litopenaeus vannamei (L. vannamei), which is a commonly sea product worldwide. The high pure SHC could be acquired by two-step purification, with a production yield of > 1 g proteins (98% pure) per 1 kg shrimp. Compared to KLH, the peptide-SHC conjugates exhibit higher solubility after hapten conjugation. Meanwhile, compared with KLH, SHC induces comparable antibody production efficiency in mammals, with or without conjugation. Furthermore, rabbit polyclonal antibodies or mouse monoclonal antibodies were generated by immunizing SHC-peptide conjugates, and the subsequent antibodies were confirmed to be used in western blot, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry. A unidirectional vertical coupling structure is designed based on optical through-silicon vias (TSVs) and gratings to couple and steer the optical interconnects in 3D optoelectronic integrated circuits. The optical TSVs provide high-speed vertical optical data transmission over short distances. The grating coupler structure achieves efficient coupling between an optical TSV and a planar Si waveguide. Through the action of a mirror that covered the end of the optical TSV cladding and a distributed Bragg reflector(DBR) positioned on the far side away from the waveguide, coupling efficiency of 80% at 1550 nm is obtained in simulations. Abstract We identify Lagrangian coherent vortices in a global mesoscale eddy-permitting ocean model using the rotation-based method of Haller et al. (2016). We present an analysis of the acute sensitivity of the identification results to varying the method’s free parameters, and develop physically justified parameter choices that allow for systematic vortex identification. In contrast to prior vortex studies, we probe the broad spectrum of coherency in the ocean by determining free parameter choices that partition the spectrum into distinct coherency classes allowing for the identification of strictly coherent, moderately coherent, and leaky vortices. Our tuning methodology is grounded in a combination of sensitivity analysis, convergence tests, and consideration of the ocean model’s physics. To aid in this process, we introduce the Coherency Index a novel Lagrangian diagnostic for mathematically quantifying the degree of material coherency of a Lagrangian vortex. Soaked bayberry jiu is a homely fruit alcoholic beverage that produced by soaking bayberry in Baijiu, a traditional Chinese distilled spirit. To investigate the changes in the sensory and aroma compounds of soaked bayberry jiu following gamma irradiation, the sensory evaluation, electron nose, electron tongue, and headspace solid-phase microextraction gas chromatography mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS) were conducted. The results showed that the different irradiation doses of samples could be well separated. The taste and smell of 6 kGy irradiated soaked bayberry jiu were significantly improved, but the color of irradiated samples was deteriorated. Moreover, a total of 53 differential products (21 decreased and 32 increased products) were detected compared 6 kGy irradiated soaked bayberry jiu to unirradiated sample, including some important aroma compounds of Baijiu, indicating that the active free radicals produced by gamma irradiation promote the oxidation-reduction reaction in soaked bayberry jiu and lead to the mutual transformation and equilibrium among the compounds. A sensor array with 30 gas sensors is used in the electronic nose (e-nose) for bacteria detection in wound infection. However, the interference is an urgent problem in e-nose, since it would impact on the detection of target due to the cross-sensitivity of gas sensors, especially the background interference caused by carrier gas. The related methods to suppress the background interference are independent component analysis and orthogonal signal correction algorithm which are unreasonable, because it is difficult to obtain the so-called reference vector in complex real-world scenario. Consider that the sampling process of pump suction is divided into three parts: baseline collecting, sample collecting and system purging. In the case of stabilized carrier gas, the information in baseline can be fully used to suppress the interference in sampling stage. Thus a novel and effective correlated information removing based interference suppression (CIRIS) method is proposed. Specifically, the principle of this method is to suppress the interference of the sampling stage by removing the information correlated with baseline samples. Experimental results show that the proposed method (CIRIS with principal component analysis used to calculate the projection matrix) is significantly effective for interference suppression in e-nose. Mechanical tension is widely applied on the suture to modulate the growth of craniofacial bones. Deeply understanding the features of bone formation in expanding sutures could help us to improve the outcomes of clinical treatment and avoid some side effects. Although there are reports that have uncovered some biological characteristics, the regular pattern of sutural bone formation in response to expansion forces is still unknown. Our study was to investigate the shape, arrangement and orientation of new bone formation in expanding sutures and explore related clinical implications. The premaxillary sutures of rat, which histologically resembles the sutures of human beings, became wider progressively under stretch force. Micro-CT detected new bones at day 3. Morphologically, these bones were forming in a finger-like pattern, projecting from the maxillae into the expanded sutures. There were about 4 finger-like bones appearing on the selected micro-CT sections at day 3 and this number increased to about 18 at day 7. The average length of these projections increased from 0.14 mm at day 3 to 0.81 mm at day 7. The volume of these bony protuberances increased to the highest level of 0.12 mm3 at day 7. HE staining demonstrated that these finger-like bones had thick bases connecting with the maxillae and thin fronts stretching into the expanded suture. Nasal sections had a higher frequency of finger-like bones occuring than the oral sections at day 3 and day 5. Masson-stained sections showed stretched fibers embedding into maxillary margins. Osteocalcin-positive osteoblasts changed their shapes from cuboidal to spindle and covered the surfaces of finger-like bones continuously. Alizarin red S and calcein deposited in the inner and outer layers of finger-like bones respectively, which showed that longer and larger bones formed on the nasal side of expanded sutures compared with the oral side. Interestingly, these finger-like bones were almost paralleling with the direction of stretch force. Inclined force led to inclined finger-like bones formation and deflection of bilateral maxillae. Additionally, heavily compressive force caused fracture of finger-like bones in the sutures. This meta-analysis aims to synthesize global evidence on the risk of reinfection among people previously infected with SARS-CoV-2. We systematically searched PubMed, Scopus, Embase and Web of Science as of April 5, 2021. We conducted: (1) meta-analysis of cohort studies containing data sufficient for calculating the incidence rate of SARS-CoV-2 reinfection; (2) systematic review of case reports with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 reinfection cases. The reinfection incidence was pooled by zero-inflated beta distribution. The hazard ratio (HR) between reinfection incidence among previously infected individuals and new infection incidence among infection-naïve individuals was calculated using random-effects models. Of 906 records retrieved and reviewed, 11 studies and 11 case reports were included in the meta-analysis and the systematic review, respectively. The pooled SARS-CoV-2 reinfection incidence rate was 0.70 (standard deviation [SD] 0.33) per 10,000 person-days. The incidence of reinfection was lower than the incidence of new infection (HR = 0.12, 95% confidence interval 0.09–0.17). Our meta-analysis of studies conducted prior to the emergency of the more transmissible Omicron variant showed that people with a prior SARS-CoV-2 infection could be re-infected, and they have a lower risk of infection than those without prior infection. Purpose: To compare a novel vacuum suction ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy (VS-URS) with traditional ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy (T-URS) for impacted upper ureteral stones and to better define the potential benefits of VS-URS. Methods: Between May 2019 and March 2021, 158 patients with impacted upper ureteral stones underwent ureteroscopic holmium-YAG laser lithotripsy. Of these, 76 underwent VS-URS and 82 underwent T-URS. In VS-URS procedures, the vacuum suction device is composed of a 5F ureteral catheter and a tee joint. The ureteral catheter is linked to the vacuum aspirator by the sidearm of the tee joint, and a 200 μm fiber is inserted through the tee joint and the ureteral catheter into the stone site for lithotripsy. Results: When compared to the T-URS group, the VS-URS group had a shorter mean operation time (38.18 ± 6.37 min vs. 46.65 ± 5.66 min; P = 0.000), lower fever rate (3.9% vs. 14.6%; P < 0.022), less stone retropulsion (5.3% vs. 18.3%; P = 0.012), lower extra management rate (6.58% vs. 21.95%; P = 0.006), and a higher stone-free rate of the first postoperative day (88.2% vs. 72.0%; P = 0.011). There were no significant differences in stone-free rates 1 month after surgery between groups (94.7% vs. 92.7%; P = 0.748). Conclusions: VS-URS is an effective modality for impacted upper ureteral stones, and has a shorter operating time, lower fever rate, less stone retropulsion, and a higher primary stone-free rate compared with T-URS. Hydrogen transportation by pipelines gradually becomes a critical engineering route in the worldwide adaptation of hydrogen as a form of clean energy. However, due to the hydrogen embrittlement effect, the compatibility of linepipe steels and associated welds with hydrogen is a major concern when designing hydrogen-carrying pipelines. When hydrogen enters the steels, their ductility, fracture resistance, and fatigue properties can be adversely altered. This paper reviews the status of several demonstration projects for natural gas-hydrogen blending and pure hydrogen transportation, the pipeline materials used and their operating parameters. This paper also compares the current standards of materials specifications for hydrogen pipeline systems from different parts of the world. The hydrogen compatibility and tolerance of varying grades of linepipe steels and the relevant testing methods for assessing the compatibility are then discussed, and the conservatism or the inadequacies of the test conditions of the current standards are pointed out for future improvement. Digitalization, as a crucial engine for promoting sustainable development, has created new prospects for enterprise green transformation. Utilizing panel data from enterprises registered in China's resource-based cities from 2010 to 2021, this study innovatively examines the role of digitalization in promoting green transformation across two key performance dimensions. The findings indicate that enterprise digitalization significantly enhances the green innovation performance, while its impact on environmental performance, although positive, is not statistically significant. Overall, enterprise digitalization greatly facilitates green transformation. Moreover, mechanism analysis reveals that enterprise digitalization promotes green transformation through the alleviation of financial mismatch and the increase of external market attention. In addition, heterogeneity analysis shows that the effectiveness of enterprise digitalization in promoting green transformation is significantly different in different opportunist risk scenarios, proving more effective in areas with low-marketization, high-competition industries, and high environmental regulation intensity. In terms of the policy level, the National Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Zone (NBDCPZ) and the Carbon Emission Trading Policy (CETP) played a positive stimulating role in the process of enterprise digitalization affecting green transformation. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the feasibility of using snake venom thrombin-like enzyme (SVTLE) and/or ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) to dissolve calcium oxalate stones in vitro. Methods: Seven calcium oxalate stones were incubated with various chemolytic agents [EDTA, Tris-HCl/EDTA (TE) buffer or SVTLE diluted in TE buffer]. The pH, calcium concentration, stone weight and stone surface integrity were recorded, as well as related pathological changes to bladder mucosae. Results: Compared to all other solutions, those containing SVTLE and buffered EDTA had higher concentrations of mobilized calcium and caused significantly more stone weight loss, stone fragility and gaps in the calcium crystals. Also, there were no adverse pathological effects on rabbit bladder mucosae from any of the solutions. For constant rate production of a single well in a closed boundary fractured-vuggy carbonate reservoir, when the pressure wave propagates to the reservoir boundaries, boundary-dominated flow occurs, and the transient flow period ends, the reservoir will be in a state of pseudoequilibrium (i.e., pseudosteady state flow occurs, and the pressure at any point in the reservoir declines at the same constant rate over time). The characterization of fluid flow in the fractured-vuggy carbonate reservoir under pseudosteady state condition is of significance in describing the productivity index (PI) of the well. However, due to complex mechanisms (e.g., stress dependency of reservoir properties and crossflow between different systems of the reservoirs) during flow in fractured-vuggy carbonate reservoirs, researches on productivity prediction in fractured-vuggy carbonate reservoirs under pseudosteady state are very limited. The present work is aimed at developing a new analytical model for predicting flow in fractured-vuggy carbonate reservoirs under pseudosteady state condition. In the derived model, the crossflow between different systems (i.e., matrix, fracture, and vug) of the reservoirs was taken into account. In addition, based on Hooke's law, a quantitative model was proposed to study stress-dependent permeability of the fracture system, which connects the reserve spaces. Moreover, the roughness morphology characteristics of fracture surface were taken into account with fractal theory. Finally, with our derived model, influences caused by various related factors on productivity were analyzed. The results show that well productivity during pseudosteady flow will be significantly affected by the morphology of fracture surface (e.g., fracture microstructure parameters) and effective stress. Specifically, due to effective stress, the fracture system in the fractured-vuggy reservoirs will be deformed, and the corresponding properties (e.g., permeability, porosity, and conductivity) will change, leading to the change of well productivity. In addition, there exists a negative relationship between the elastic storage capacity ratio of vugs and well productivity during pseudosteady flow. Moreover, a larger value of matrix-fracture interporosity flow coefficient or vug-fracture interporosity flow coefficient corresponds to a larger value of well productivity during the pseudosteady period. The new derived model is beneficial to improve the productivity prediction accuracy and reduce uncertainty. Inclusive green growth has garnered significant attention from governments and international organizations worldwide. Utilizing data from 282 cities in China spanning from 2010 to 2020, this study employs the dual machine learning model and the chain mediated effect model to delve into the effects and internal mechanisms of the regional integration of Yangtze River Economic Belt on inclusive green growth. Our findings indicate that the regional integration of Yangtze River Economic Belt has a substantial influence on inclusive green growth, particularly in cities with a higher degree of marketization, non-industrial cities, and cities lacking natural resource advantages. Mechanistic analysis reveals that the regional integration of Yangtze River Economic Belt exerts its influence on inclusive green growth through three parallel development paths including enhancing urban innovation levels, fostering mass entrepreneurship, and promoting the advancement of digital financial inclusion. Furthermore, the chain mediated effect is supported. Additionally, the spatial spillover effect of target policy is observed. Abstract: Ta-doping K0.5Na0.5Nb1−x Ta x O3 (x =0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) powder was synthesized by hydrothermal approach and its ceramics were prepared after sintering and polarizing treatment in this work. The K0.5Na0.5Nb0.7Ta0.3O3 ceramics near morphotropic phase boundary (MPB), which exhibited optimum piezoelectric properties of d 33 =210pC/N and good electromechanical coupling factors of K p =0.3. The domain structure has been observed from TEM images which indicates that the K0.5Na0.5Nb0.7Ta0.3O3 ceramics have good piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties for it is near the MPB. Background: To determine the related imaging findings and risk factors to refracture of the cemented vertebrae after percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) treatment.Methods: Patients who were treated with PVP for single vertebral compression fractures (VCFs) and met this study's inclusion criteria were retrospectively reviewed from January 2012 to January 2019. The follow-up period was at least 2 years. Forty-eight patients with refracture of the cemented vertebrae and 45 non-refractured patients were included. The following variates were reviewed: age, sex, fracture location, bone mineral density (BMD), intravertebral cleft (IVC), kyphotic angle (KA), wedge angle, endplate cortical disruption, cement volume, surgical approach, non-PMMA-endplate-contact (NPEC), cement leakage, other vertebral fractures, reduction rate (RR), and reduction angle (RA). Multiple logistic regression modeling was used to identify the independent risk factors of refracture.Results: Refracture was found in 48 (51.6%) patients. Four risk factors, including IVC (P = 0.005), endplate cortical disruption (P = 0.037), larger RR (P = 0.007), and NPEC (P = 0.006) were found to be significant independent risk factors for refracture.Conclusions: Patients with IVC or larger RR, NPEC, or endplate cortical disruption have a high risk of refracture in the cemented vertebrae after PVP. Cultivating microalgae in wastewater offers various advantages, but it still faces limitations such as bacteria and other impurities in wastewater affecting the growth and purity of microalgae, difficulty in microalgae harvesting, and extracellular products of microalgae affecting effluent quality. In this study, a novel dialysis bag-microalgae photobioreactor (Db-PBR) was developed to achieve wastewater purification and purer bioresource recovery by culturing microalgae in a dialysis bag. The dialysis bag in the Db-PBR effectively captured the microalgae cells and promoted their lipid accumulation, leading to higher biomass (1.53 times of the control) and lipid production (2.50 times of the control). During the stable operation stage of Db-PBR, the average soluble microbial products (SMP) content outside the dialysis bag was 25.83 mg L−1, which was significantly lower than that inside the dialysis bag (185.63 mg L−1), indicating that the dialysis bag effectively intercepted the SMP secreted by microalgae. As a result, the concentration of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in Db-PBR effluent was significantly lower than that of traditional photobioreactor. Furthermore, benefiting from the dialysis bag in the reactor effectively intercepted the microorganisms in wastewater, significantly improving the purity of the cultured microalgae biomass, which is beneficial for the development of high-value microalgae products. Abstract Shrub encroachment has emerged as a global phenomenon over the past century. Multiple drivers have been put forward to explain the increased shrub dominance in various ecosystems around the world. However, the potential role of phenology in regulating shrub encroachment is not well understood. We address this issue using 3-year continuous monitoring of the phenology of coexisting shrubs and grasses combined with observations of ecohydrological processes (water uptake) and soil conditions (root zone soil moisture, soil texture, and soil temperature) at four study sites in Inner Mongolia, China, with shrub coverage of Caragana microphylla ranging from 0%, to 6.8%, 26.8% and 34.2%. Along such an encroachment gradient, shrubs exhibited progressively earlier onsets and later ends of the growing season, with an overall extension in growing season length by 15 days to 22 days in the later stages of shrub encroachment. Conversely, the coexisting grasses showed earlier occurrences both in spring and autumn phenological phases, which resulted in a phenological gap between shrubs and grasses. Thus, a positive feedback could exist between these phenological changes and shrub encroachment. In shrub patches, soils were wetter, with finer texture, and with more suitable temperatures for plant survival and development, which favored the lengthening of growing season of shrubs. The longer growing seasons are associated with longer periods of water use and photosynthesis for shrubs, and better opportunities for water uptake, with the overall effect of facilitating shrub growth and further expansion. Human subcutaneous adipose tissue has been recognized as a rich source of tissue resident mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSC) in recent years. The current study was designed to sort the minipig (mp) perivascular stem cells (PSCs) and investigate the osteogenic potential. Purification of human PSCs was achieved via fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) from human liposuction samples [cluster of differentiation (CD)45−CD34−CD146+ perithelial cells and CD45−CD34+CD146− adventitial cells]. Subsequently, PSCs were isolated from mp adipose tissue samples (n=9), characterized and, using purified mpPSCs (obtained by FACS, which is used in human PSC purification), the mpPSC osteogenic and adipogenic potential was evaluated by Alizarin Red S and Oil Red O staining in vitro, respectively. The cell morphometry was observed following cell isolation and culture, and hematoxylin and eosin staining was performed to identify the fat tissue structure and vascular distribution. Osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation-associated gene expression levels were analyzed by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction. The results demonstrated that the same antigens used for human PSC identification and isolation were working in mp tissue (CD45, CD146 and CD34). The two cell groups: CD45−CD34−CD146+ pericytes and CD45−CD34+CD146− adventitial cells were successfully isolated from the subcutaneous fat in the posterior neck of mps, mpPSCs accounted for 8.6% of the stromal vascular fraction (SVF) with 1.4% pericytes and 7.2% adventitial cells. mpPSCs demonstrated characteristics of MSCs, including cell surface marker expression, colony forming unit-fibroblast inclusion, and the stronger osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation potential than that of the non-selected vascular stromal cells. The mRNA expression levels of osteocalcin, collagen, type I, α1 and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ in the mpPSCs group were significantly higher than those of the unsorted pSVF group (P<0.05). Thus, the current study successfully isolated and cultured CD146+ and CD34+ cell populations from mp tissues, characterized the cells' PSC-like phenotype and identified their distinctly osteogenic and adipogenic potential. A medical electronic nose (e-nose) with 31 gas sensors is used for wound infection detection by analyzing the bacterial metabolites. In practical applications, the prediction accuracy drops dramatically when the prediction model established by laboratory data is directly used in human clinical samples. This is a key issue for medical e-nose which should be more worthy of attention. The host (carrier) of bacteria can be the culture solution, the animal wound, or the human wound. As well, the bacterial culture solution or animals (such as: mice, rabbits, etc.) obtained easily are usually used as experimental subjects to collect sufficient sensor array data to establish the robust predictive model, but it brings another serious interference problem at the same time. Different carriers have different background interferences, therefore the distribution of data collected under different carriers is different, which will make a certain impact on the recognition accuracy in the detection of human wound infection. This type of interference problem is called "transfer caused by different sample carriers". In this paper, a novel subspace alignment-based interference suppression (SAIS) method with domain correction capability is proposed to solve this interference problem. The subspace is the part of space whose dimension is smaller than the whole space, and it has some specific properties. In this method, first the subspaces of different data domains are gotten, and then one subspace is aligned to another subspace, thereby the problem of different distributions between two domains is solved. From experimental results, it can be found that the recognition accuracy of the infected rat samples increases from 29.18% (there is no interference suppression) to 82.55% (interference suppress by SAIS). Abstract: Single particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) is an emerging powerful tool for structural studies of macromolecular assemblies (i.e., protein complexes and viruses). Although single particle cryo-EM requires less concentrated and smaller amounts of samples than X-ray crystallography, it remains challenging to study specimens that are low-abundance, low-yield, or short-lived. The recent development of affinity grid techniques can potentially further extend single particle cryo-EM to these challenging samples by combining sample purification and cryo-EM grid preparation into a single step. Here we report a new design of affinity cryo-EM approach, cryo-SPIEM, that applies a traditional pathogen diagnosis tool Solid Phase Immune Electron Microscopy (SPIEM) to the single particle cryo-EM method. This approach provides an alternative, largely simplified and easier to use affinity grid that directly works with most native macromolecular complexes with established antibodies, and enables cryo-EM studies of native samples directly from cell cultures. In the present work, we extensively tested the feasibility of cryo-SPIEM with multiple samples including those of high or low molecular weight, macromolecules with low or high symmetry, His-tagged or native particles, and high- or low-yield macromolecules. Results for all these samples (non-purified His-tagged bacteriophage T7, His-tagged E scherichia coli ribosomes, native Sindbis virus, and purified but low-concentration native Tulane virus) demonstrated the capability of cryo-SPIEM approach in specifically trapping and concentrating target particles on TEM grids with minimal view constraints for cryo-EM imaging and determination of 3D structures. Abstract: Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the signaling mechanisms surrounding changes in tight junction (TJ) and the permeability of human intestinal epithelial cell induced by tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). Methods: To confirm that TNF-α induces epithelial barrier hyperpermeability by disrupting tight junction, Caco-2 cells were exposed to TNF-α, and changes in epithelial permeability (via TER assay), F-actin dynamics (via Rhodamine-phalloidin staining) and tight junction protein expression (via western blot) were monitored. Moreover, to ensure that NF-κB participated in the regulatory mechanisms, Caco-2 cells were transfected with DNMu-IκBα or control plasmids, the above experiments were repeated and the activation effect of TNF-α on NF-κB was detected by luciferase reporter assays. Lastly, we took dominant negative plasmid and knockdown approaches to investigate the potential importance of the NF-κB/myosin light chain kinase (MLCK)/myosin light chain phosphorylation (pMLC) pathways in TNF-a-mediated damage. Result: TNF-α could cause NF-κB activation, F-actin rearrangement, tight junction disruption and barrier dysfunction. These effects were alleviated by inhibiting NF-κB. TNF-α induced increase of MLCK transcription and MLC phosphorylation act later than NF-κB activation, which could be suppressed both by inactivating and deleting NF-κB. Conclusions: TNF-α induces intestinal epithelial cell hyperpermeability by disrupting TJs, in part through MLCK upregulation, in which NF-κB is the positive upstream regulator for MLCK. • Proposed to use T 1ρ to detect knee cartilage of athletes. • T 1ρ is more sensitive and reliable than T2WI in evaluating early cartilage degeneration. • T 1ρ MRI shows changes in knee cartilage with minor lesions. Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is one of major reasons to causes pain and limit mobility for aging people. Early diagnosis of articular cartilage degeneration is of utmost importance for the prevention of OA. Thus, it is necessary to develop a novel magnetic resonance imaging technique to detect the early articular cartilage degeneration. Methods. T 1ρ and T 2 -weighted images of the knees were obtained for 50 asymptomatic young subjects (23 men and 27 women; average age, 23.9 ± 1.8 years) and 17 Chinese National Men's hockey players (average age, 20.7 ± 1.1 years), using a 3.0-T MRI scanner. Quantitative T 1ρ relaxation maps of the bilateral patella cartilage were generated by post-processing, and each map was divided into 15 regions of interest (ROIs). T 1ρ values of each ROI were measured and compared between asymptomatic subjects and athletes. Results. T 1ρ values of left patellar cartilage in athletes were significantly higher than those in healthy subjects (P < 0.05). T 1ρ values of right patellar cartilage in athletes were also higher than healthy controls (P < 0.05). T 1ρ values of patellar cartilage in both athletes and healthy subjects uncovered no apparent difference between the left knees and right knees (P > 0.05). Conclusion.
