This article conducts a systematic mapping and inductive analysis of existing work related to hydrogen energy policy in the Web of Science Core Collection from 1996 to 7 July 2023. First, based on bibliometrics, the research reveals the publication volume trends, influential contributors (countries, authors, organizations and journals). Second, bibliometric and content analysis were applied to vividly demonstrate the evolution of the research topic, discuss leading research topics, and provide valuable insights into issues that deserving appropriate attention in the future. The unequivocal role of policies in supporting the development of hydrogen energy is undeniable. In the future, the focal point of hydrogen energy policies should be concentrated on stimulating the creation of demand for green hydrogen, necessitating the effective evaluation of policy outcomes and ensuring the safety of hydrogen energy. Furthermore, the application scope of hydrogen energy extends beyond the transportation sector, holding potential for expansion into other high carbon‐emitting domains. With the strengthening of international collaboration in hydrogen energy, considerations of energy justice and fairness are poised to become pivotal factors in cooperation, exerting a profound influence on the attainment of long‐term development and environmental sustainability. These critical research directions will shape the future landscape of hydrogen energy policy and serve as an essential resource for policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders in this domain. • A novel spatial general equilibrium model was constructed and the impact of air pollution on urban residents' welfare in China was studied. • Empirical study shows air pollution significantly reduces urban residents' welfare and migration cost reduces the negative impact of air pollution on the welfare of urban residents. • Policy suggestions suggested that air pollution should be balanced against the welfare of residents, and should not be cleaned up by "one size fits all" in the early stages of economic development. Air pollution and its effects are important issues of human society. However, few literatures on the effect of air pollution on urban residents' welfare considered the cost of migration. This paper constructs a novel spatial general equilibrium model and studies the impact of air pollution on urban residents' welfare in 274 cities at and above the prefectural level in China from 2007 to 2017, and investigates the role of migration costs. The theoretical analysis and empirical research show that air pollution has a significant negative impact on the welfare of residents. Further, the simulation results indicate that the reduction of migration cost and the improvement of air quality accounts for roughly 24.65% improvement of resident's welfare from 2007 to 2017 in China. Another conclusion is that there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between resident's welfare and air pollution. On another side, migration costs play a moderating role in the impact path of air pollution on residents' welfare. When the migration costs fall, it will help residents to move out of cities with poor air quality and improve the resident's welfare. The policy suggestions are as follows: (1) In the process of sustainable development, local governments need to coordinate the phased characteristics between air pollution and residents' welfare, effectively improve the livable degree of city and urban economic sustainability, and prevent the brain drain caused by excessive migration of residents. (2) Local governments should lower the migration costs between cities by deepening the reform of the household registration system, so as to promote the free flow of labor and ultimately improve the welfare of residents. The purpose of this paper is focused on introducing a new layout of an electricity and liquid hydrogen cogeneration power plant and evaluating its performance from the exergo-economic and environmental stand points. The system is based on the combination of a biomass gasification gas turbine cycle, a Rankine cycle, an electrolyzer unit, and a hydrogen liquefaction cycle. A parametric model is firstly developed to study the sensitivity of the system performance on the main design parameters (including biomass flow rate ṁ biomass , gas turbine inlet temperature T GT , compressor pressure ratio PR, and steam turbine inlet pressure P SRCT). Afterward, the optimal operation of system is selected using by a multi-objective optimization approach. The observations revealed that m ˙ biomass is the most effective design parameter. The optimal design parameters are obtained as ṁ biomass = 1.94 kg/s, T GT = 1421 K, PR = 5.52, and P SRCT = 3886 kPa, which results in the maximum electricity and hydrogen production of 3377 kW and 14.8 kg/h together with minimum total cost rate of 86.61 $/h. Multimodal transport is an effective method to reduce the energy consumption and carbon dioxide (CO 2) emissions in transportation sector. Evaluating the low-carbon performance is a prerequisite for developing multimodal transport. This paper establishes the new cross-efficiency (CE) network data envelopment analysis (DEA) approach, and applies it to evaluate low-carbon efficiency of railway-waterway intermodal transportation (RIT) in China from 2017 to 2022. The proposed approach takes advantage of network DEA and considers the internal structure in the RIT system as well as the interconnections between various transportation modes. This article comprehensively analyzes the evaluation results in terms of the overall situation, geographic distribution characteristics, internal stages and links, external influencing factors, and efficiency prediction, and the results find that: (1) the low-carbon efficiency of China's overall RIT needs further improvement. (2) The geographical distribution shows a trend that the efficiency in the Northern Region is higher than that in the Southern Region. (3) The level of urban industry, external transportation conditions, and foreign trade development will all affect the performance of RIT. Finally, according to the empirical results, management strategies are proposed. The main contributions include: proposing a network-structured CE-DEA method focusing on internal states; The advantages of CE network DEA are utilized to study CO 2 emissions of multimodal transport; The low-carbon efficiency of RIT in China is comprehensively analyzed. • Identifying a common best practice frontier most similar to management goals. • The possible additional benefits generated from the global reallocation. • The stepwise reallocation paths for DMUs with limited reallocation potentials. • The case study based on 18 ports in Korea. Common benchmarking can identify a common best practice frontier as the benchmark to assess and improve the performance of Decision-Making Units (DMUs) experiencing similar circumstances. At present, further exploration in common benchmarking is still needed. For instance, the similarity between management goals and targets belonging to a common best practice frontier. To fill this gap, we propose the following innovative work: (1) A novel Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model is proposed to identify a common best practice frontier on which targets closest to management goals can be found for all DMUs experiencing similar circumstances. These targets need to be achieved through a global reallocation of inputs/outputs among DMUs; (2) Considering the targets closest to management goals are too ambitious for some DMUs, an iterative algorithm is given based on another new DEA model for providing the stepwise reallocation paths. The stepwise reallocation paths can distribute the total reallocation efforts into several intermediate steps; (3) The effectiveness of the proposed model and algorithm is illustrated by applying them to a case of 18 ports in Korea. For this purpose, we use the input–output data set of these ports in 2010 and assume actual management goals for every port. The results of the case show some conclusions. First, the target of each port located on the common best practice facet is closest to its management goal. Second, global redistribution can make all ports obtain the best input–output levels. How to reasonably evaluate the performance of scientific research activities in universities has attracted people's extensive attention. This study identifies the scientific research activity of Chinese universities as a two-process system with three sub-stages, including technical accumulation and research commercialization processes. Where, the process of technical accumulation includes the production of scientific research and patenting stage, while the process of research commercialization is a separate stage. First, this study proposes a network DEA model with two processes and three sub-stages to evaluate and decompose the performance of scientific research activities in universities. Secondly, taking 61 Chinese universities in the "Double First-Class" initiative (DFIU) as examples, this study evaluates the overall efficiency, stage efficiency and coordination efficiency of scientific research activities in Chinese universities. The final main conclusions are as follows: (1) The average score associated with the transformation efficiency of scientific research achievements based on the internal structures is only 0.2406, lower than the CCR efficiency and merger efficiency, indicating that most universities are still facing problems such as low resource utilization efficiency or unsatisfactory results. (2) The universities in the "First-class Discipline" construction plan (UFDCP) have outstanding performance in the technical accumulation process and the production of scientific research stage. Professional characteristics universities are generally much less efficient than polytechnic universities and comprehensive universities. (3) The universities in the "First-class Discipline" construction plan (UFDCP) are better than the universities in the "First-class Universities" construction plan (UFUCP) in terms of average efficiency values and polytechnic universities are better than other types of universities in terms of average efficiency values. A novel metal‐doped metal–organic framework (MOF) was developed by incorporating salen–Mg into NH2–MIL‐101(Cr) structure under ambient conditions. The Schiff base complex was successfully prepared by condensing salicylaldehyde with a free amino group and then coordinating metal ions. Such a structure can endow the sample with higher CO2 adsorption performance. At 0°C and 1 bar, the salen–Mg‐modified sample achieves the maximum adsorption capacity of 2.18 mmol g−1 for CO2, which was 5.8% higher than the pristine salen–MOF under the same conditions. Notably, the Freundlich model indicates that the CO2 adsorption process of all samples conforms to reversible adsorption. However, the correlation coefficients (R2) of the Mg‐doped sample are lower than that of the pristine sample. Besides, the CO2/N2 adsorption selectivity and isosteric heat also show a similar trend. As haze intensifies in China, controlling haze emission has become the country's top priority for environmental protection. Because haze moves across different regions, it is necessary to develop a data envelopment analysis (DEA) model underpinned by both competition and cooperation to evaluate the haze emission efficiency in different provinces. This study innovatively adopts the spatial econometrics to construct the co‐opetition matrices of Chinese provinces, then builds the co‐opetition DEA model to evaluate the haze emission efficiency of them, and finally uses the haze data of 2015 as an example to assess the applicability of the model. The results of the study include the following: First, compared with the traditional CCR (A. Charnes & W. W. Cooper & E. Rhodes) model, this study constructs the co‐opetition DEA cross‐efficiency model that integrates haze's feature of cross‐border moving; thus, it is more in line with the reality of haze emission and movement. Second, compared with the efficiency value gained from the CCR model, the haze emission efficiency values for Tianjin and Guangdong, two decision‐making units, register greater variance when using the DEA model. The reason might lie in that they have a different spatial transportation relationship with their surrounding provinces. Third, the haze emission efficiency of provinces, according to the evaluation based on the co‐opetition DEA method, varies greatly: Those with high efficiency are mostly inland provinces with slow economic growth and adverse climatic conditions, whereas many of the provinces with low efficiency are located in the relatively prosperous East China. The specific co‐opetition DEA model constructed in this study enriches the research on the DEA model, which can be applied to the emission efficiency evaluation of similar pollutants around the world and can contribute empirical support to the haze reducing efforts of the government with its empirical results. Due to the climate change and the rapid progress of urbanization, extreme weather disasters such as urban rainstorm and waterlogging are frequent. Therefore, how to find the waterlogging points in the presence of disasters and how to optimize the distribution of urban emergency logistics and reduce the negative impact of disasters have become a hot and difficult issue for government departments and scholars. First of all, the idea and method of using the big data of microblogging to obtain urban rainstorm and waterlogging disasters and public sentiment are put forward. In addition,this thesis constructed the location-routing problem model of urban emergency logistics in the situation of rainstorm and waterlogging disaster, and found out the dynamic emergency distribution path of Nanjing in the situation of waterlogging disaster by using NSGA-III algorithm. Research shows that the risk management of urban rainstorm and waterlogging disasters, together with social media data, is a feasible way to obtain on-site data of disasters and carry out risk assessment of disasters. At the same time, the emergency logistics location-positioning model and algorithm can provide a reference for similar disaster emergency logistics distribution network and the conclusion can provide empirical reference for cities to cope with rainstorm and waterlogging disasters. Most literature focusing on the issue of ship pollutant emission and diffusion is based on static meteorological conditions. The relevant literature seldom analyzes the emission and diffusion of ship pollutant gas according to real-time meteorological data when wind direction, wind speed and other meteorological conditions have changed. This paper presents a fast translational diffusion algorithm, and empirically demonstrates it through ship and meteorological data from the Huangpu River field in Shanghai. First, CO 2 emissions were estimated using the actual speed of the ship engine changed under the influence of variable wind, and simulation analysis was performed to the scenario of hourly diffusions. The research findings are as follows: In comparison with the traditional algorithms, the fast algorithm can significantly improve calculation efficiency, save calculation time and achieve the long-distance and long-time parallel calculation of multiple ships. As proven by the empirical research using the ships on Huangpu River in Shanghai, the maximum difference of CO 2 emissions is 34.5%, 36.85% and 19.97% respectively after upwind, downwind and real-time meteorological conditions are taken into account. The research finding indicates that wind direction changes have a greater impact on the carbon emission of ships. • Air pollutant emissions and dispersion from ships under variable wind conditions were calculated. • A fast translational diffusion algorithm was used to efficiently simulate multi-vessel, long-distance diffusion in real time. • Ship and meteorological data from the Huangpu River field in Shanghai were validated. • Empirical analysis in variable wind direction scenario shows that the difference in CO2 emissions can be up to 36.85%. Tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA) is involved in the lysis of blood clots. In this study, we attempted to target thrombolysis and enhance blood clot lysis by generating a construct (pLEGFP-N1-tPA) to integrate tPA gene into the genome of different cell lines. pLEGFP-N1-tPA construct was generated and used to target the tPA gene in different cell lines. The thrombolytic effects mediated by the supernatant from transfected HeLa cells and Linx cells were assessed using plasma thrombus plates. Furthermore, enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP), which was fused to the tPA gene in the pLEGFP-N1-tPA construct, was analyzed under the fluorescent microscope to assess tPA localization. We also monitored tPA activity and expression in the transfected cell lines. As part of the study, we successfully generated the pLEGFP-N1-tPA construct. The sequence of this construct was verified and the construct was subsequently used to generate the PT67/pLEGFP-N1-tPA cell line. The pLEGFP-N1-tPA construct was also used to transfect HeLa cells and Linx cells. We observed that supernatants from transfected cells were capable of lysing thrombi. In addition, tPA activity and tPA concentration were elevated in the latter supernatants and tPA was rapidly and stably expressed in the transfected cell lines. These results reveal a potentially important thrombolytic role for tPA-targeted gene therapy following cardiac valve replacement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Based on the related impact factors of precipitation anomaly referred in previous research, eight atmospheric circulation indicators in pre-winter and spring picked out by correlation analysis as the independent variables and the hazard levels of drought/flood sudden alternation index (DFSAI) as the dependent variables were used to construct the nonlinear and nonparametric classification and regression tree (CART) for the threshold determination and hazard evaluation on bimonthly and monthly scales in Huaihe River basin. Results show that the spring indicators about Arctic oscillation index (AOI_S), Asia polar vortex area index (APVAI_S), and Asian meridional circulation index (AMCI_S) were extracted as the three main impact factors, which were proved to be suitable for the hazard levels assessment of the drought/flood sudden alternation (DFSA) disaster based on bimonthly scale. On monthly scale, AOI_S, northern hemisphere polar vortex intensity index in pre-winter (NHPVII_PW), and AMCI_S are the three primary variables in hazard level prediction of DFSA in May and June; NHPVII_PW, AMCI_PW, and AMCI_S are for that in June and July; NHPVII_PW and EASMI are for that in July and August. The type of the disaster (flood to drought/drought to flood/no DFSA) and hazard level under different conditions also can be obtained from each model. The hazard level and type were expressed by the integer from − 3 to 3, which change from the high level of disaster that flood to drought (level − 3) to the high level of the reverse type (level 3). The middle number 0 represents no DFSA. The high levels of the two sides decrease progressively to the neutralization (level 0). When AOI_S less than − 0.355, the disaster of the quick turn from drought to flood is more apt to happen (level 1) on bimonthly scale; when AOI_S less than − 1.32, the same type disaster may occur (level 2) in May and June on monthly scale. When NHPVII_PW less than 341.5, the disaster of the quick turn from flood to drought will occur (level − 1) in June and July on monthly scale. By this analogy, different hazard types and levels all can be judged from the optimal models. The corresponding data from 2011 to 2015 were selected to verify the final models through the comparison between the predicted and actual levels, and the models of M1 (bimonthly scale), M2, and M3 (monthly scale) were proved to be acceptable by the prediction accuracy rate (compared the predicted with the observed levels, 73%, 11/15). Under the background of climate change, the haze days in China have increased significantly, which seriously hinders the sustainable development of society and arouses wide attention from the public. However, the researches on the effect of air pollution on the stock yield of heavy pollution enterprise in key control cities are quite limited, This paper collects the Air Quality Index (AQI) from key control cities above prefecture level in China as well as the stock yield data of these cities’ heavy pollution enterprises in December from 2014 to 2016 and through multi-discontinuities regression model, testes the effect of air pollution on the stock yield of heavy pollution enterprise. The results show that: (1) Heavy air pollution (AQI = 300) has negative influence on the stock yield. (2) There exists time effect of air pollution on stock yield. Since the year 2014, heavy air pollution has exerted significantly negative influence on the stock yield in that 2013 may be the “first year” when the Chinese society began to take air pollution seriously. This paper gives a brief discussion on the cause of it and suggests that severe air pollution should be strictly controlled. Only by facing air pollution seriously, can we eliminate air pollution with collective wisdom and concerted efforts and achieve the sustainable development of city. Being the first study to look into the effect of air pollution on stock yield in key control cities in China, this paper provides empirical reference for government supervision departments, stock investors as well as enterprises. Based on the statistical data of rainstorm-induced catastrophe about Shenzhen city during 1980–2014, this paper constructs a calculation model of disaster magnitude, which includes three influence factors: death toll, direct economic loss and disaster affected population. At the same time, the relationship between the disaster magnitude and the temporal, spatial and cause of the rainstorm-induced catastrophe about Shenzhen city is analysed, The results show that (1) The classification of catastrophe risk is carried out by the result of the disaster magnitude model. (2) The region where the disaster occurs frequently and seriously is located in the Midwest, and the disaster occurs infrequently and lightly is located in the south-east. (3) The rainstorm-induced catastrophe about Shenzhen City is mostly caused by persistent short-time heavy rainfall. While it occurs most frequently in July, and the most serious in September affected by the typhoon. (4) The main reasons for the occurrence of rainstorm-induced catastrophe about Shenzhen City are flood, waterlogging, tide and typhoon, of these factors waterlogging is the primary one. Competition and cooperation in the environmental governance of cities are popular around the world. However, empirical research based on the prefecture-level city level in China is rare. Since the central government of China proposed to strengthen the construction of ecological civilization, whether there are strategic interactions of "race to the bottom" or "race to the top" among local governments is an important issue of academic and public interest. This paper constructs a game-theoretic model to reveal the strategic interactions of environmental governance among local governments. And then, based on the data of 221 prefecture-level cities collected from 2007 to 2018, the spatial econometric model is used to conduct multi-dimensional testing "race to the bottom" behavior of environmental protection expenditure among local governments. Moreover, this paper further analyses the impact of performance assessment indicators on the strategic interactions of local governments, so as to provide policy reference for improving environmental public welfare. Empirical results suggest that local governments in China show strategic imitation in environmental protection spending decisions, which is manifested as "race to the bottom", and this behavior is gradually weakening with the strengthening of environmental protection assessment. Furthermore, environmental performance indicators relieve the government's strategic imitation, while economic performance indicators intensify the government's strategy imitation. Thus, reasonable performance evaluation indicators are conducive to benign strategic interaction among governments. Finally, the current environmental protection expenditure has not yet significantly affected pollution reduction, providing new evidence for the "race to the bottom" behavior of local governments. Based on the findings of our study, the central government should optimize the performance evaluation system of local officials and strengthen the implementation of the environmental supervision system and accountability mechanism. Contrary to the conventional approach that utilizes the planar electrode model to achieve the electrochemical parameters of the electrode in flow batteries, this work proposes an intelligent cyclic voltammetry (CV) analysis method to accurately capture the electrochemical parameters of the carbon-based porous electrode: (i) the transient diffusion process is elaborated by the Fick's second law; (ii) the thin-layer diffusion boundary condition is determined based on the structural characteristics of porous electrodes; (iii) CV response on the porous electrode is obtained by the Bulter-Volmer equation in assocition with the Fick's first law; and (iv) the electrochemical parameters of the porous electrode are automatically extracted from the experimental data via the genetic algorithm. The feasibility of the intelligent CV analysis method is proven by studying the electrochemical parameters including the diffusion coefficient D and the standard rate constant k 0 of [ Fe (CN) 6 ] 4 − / [ Fe (CN) 6 ] 3 − . Additionally, this analysis method is applied to investigate the vanadium redox flow battery by providing accurate electrochemical parameters for the 3D multi-physics model to predict the charge/discharge performance at different current densities. The simulation results demonstrate a maximum relative error of 2% in comparison to the experimental data, suggesting the good reliability in developing the advanced model. The proposed intelligent CV analysis method provides a potential application in accurately capturing the electrochemical parameters in other electrochemical energy conversion and storage devices. In this paper, the WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting Model)-CMAQ (Community Multiscale Air Quality) is combined with the data envelopment analysis (DEA) allocation model for the first time, and a two-stage (Stage-1: SO 2 formation, Stage-2: SO 2 treatment) network DEA allocation model is proposed with the SO 2 spatial transmission taken as the intermediate output or input index between decision-making units. Based on the principles of efficiency, economic protection and fairness, the model is applied to the study of SO 2 emission rights allocation in the Yangtze River Delta city agglomeration with high homogeneity in China. The results show that: (1) When the weight coefficient (α 1) in stage-1 is 0.7, 0.8 or 0.9, the per capita relative deprivation coefficient (PRDC) of each decision-making unit (DMU) is less than 0.5 in the allocation scheme, indicating that our scheme can be used as a reference to allocate emission rights in the Yangtze River Delta city agglomeration. (2) With great robustness and universality, our allocation model allows decision-makers to adjust the GDP constraint coefficient and the weight coefficients in the two stages according to their preferences, so as to obtain the optimal allocation results. The model proposed in this paper can help decision-makers to formulate effective policies to reduce pollutant emission, and promote energy conservation & emission reduction and coordinate environmental governance in regions of city agglomerations. Regional planning plays an important role in controlling air pollution in urban agglomerations with spatial spillover characteristics. This paper empirically examines the control effect of the Development Plan for the City Cluster in the Yangtze River Delta (Plan). We first use a spatial autoregression (SAR) model to analyze the spatial and temporal effects of air pollution in 41 cities in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) from 2011 to 2018. We then use a difference-in-difference (DID) model to investigate the implementation effect of the Plan. Finally, we combine the SAR and DID models and study the Plan 's spatial effect of pollution between cities. Our empirical findings reveal the spatial correlation of air pollution between cities in the YRD and show that the Plan has significantly reduced the annual average fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) concentration. It is an urgent task for China to control haze emission in environmental treatment. Emission right trading is a feasible way to achieve the reduction of pollutant emission on the premise that the total pollutant emission amount is under control, and the allocation of initial emission rights based on the target total amount is the key to emission right trading. In this paper, via the input-oriented ZSG-DEA model, the inter provincial allocative efficiency of PM 2.5 emission rights is investigated under the condition that the target total amount is fixed. The results showed that (1) after initial emission rights were allocated in accordance with the ZSG-DEA model, PM 2.5 emission amounts of all provinces would be in a new common DEA frontier so as to realize the overall Pareto optimality with a set total amount; (2) two factors, namely land areas and atmospheric environmental capacities of all provinces, were considered in the actual allocation to avoid the homogenization of all evaluated units found in the previous evaluation literature on allocative efficiency, thereby making the evaluation results more in line with the actual situations in all provinces. Such an investigation approach can provide guidance on the allocation of initial emission rights in emission right trading; and the research results can offer empirical support for haze-reducing work load conducted by central and local governments of China. While political disputes occur frequently and widely among many countries, their impact on the international trade is unclear and less systematically investigated. Considering the 2012 Diaoyu Islands Dispute, under several premised assumptions, this paper applies the international trade Inoperability Input-Output Model to determine the indirect economic loss and to screen out Chinese industries that are sensitive to the dispute. Results based on Leontief's technical coefficients matrix show that the total indirect economic loss of China's gross trade is between RMB 540.4226 billion and RMB 1023.3068 billion. Industries that are sensitive to the dispute include electrical equipment and machinery, general special equipment manufacturing, metal smelting and rolling processing, manufacture and processing of metals and metal products, and chemical. The empirical findings suggest that China establish an early-warning mechanism and trade assistance system, so that key industries that were damaged could be properly compensated. The systematic development of the hydrogen energy industry is inseparable from government subsidies and co llaboration among enterprises in the industrial chain. Unlike existing studies on the overall impact of government subsidies on enterprise economic profits, this study discusses the impact of research and development (R&D) and production subsidies on the economic profits of upstream and midstream enterprises in the hydrogen energy industry chain. The empirical results based on hydrogen-related A-share listed enterprises from 2011 to 2019 in China show that the government's R&D and production subsidies have effectively improved the economic benefits of hydrogen energy enterprises. In particular, government R&D subsidies significantly improve the economic profits of upstream enterprises, whereas production subsidies have insignificant effects. For midstream enterprises that produce hydrogen fuel cells, the economic effect of government production subsidies is more significant than that of R&D subsidies. Understanding spatial and temporal variations in river water quality and quantitatively evaluating the trend of changes are important in order to study and efficiently manage water resources. In this study, an analysis of Water Pollution Index (WPI), Daniel Trend Test, Cluster Analysis and Discriminant Analysis are applied as an integrated approach to quantitatively explore the spatial and temporal variations and the latent sources of water pollution in the Shanchong River basin, Northwest Basin of Lake Fuxian, China. We group all field surveys into 2 clusters (dry season and rainy season). Moreover, 14 sampling sites have been grouped into 3 clusters for the rainy season (highly polluted, moderately polluted and less polluted sites) and 2 clusters for the dry season (highly polluted and less polluted sites) based on their similarities and the level of pollution during the two seasons. The results show that the main trend of pollution was aggravated during the transition from the dry to the rainy season. The Water Pollution Index of Total Nitrogen is the highest of all pollution parameters, whereas the Chemical Oxygen Demand (Chromium) is the lowest. Our results also show that the main sources of pollution are farming activities alongside the Shanchong River, soil erosion and fish culture at Shanchong River reservoir area and domestic sewage from scattered rural residential area. Our results suggest that strategies to prevent water pollutionat the Shanchong River basin need to focus on non-point pollution control by employing appropriate fertilizer formulas in farming, and take the measures of soil and water conservation at Shanchong reservoir area, and purifying sewage from scattered villages. Purposes: This study examined the prevalence of addictive Internet use and analyzed the role of parental relationship in affecting this behavior among a random sample of adolescents in Wuhan, China. Methods: Students (n = 1,101) were randomly selected from four schools, including 638 boys and 463 girls with a mean age of 13.8 (standard deviation = 1.2) years. Addictive Internet use, parental relationship, hyperactivity-impulsivity were measured by validated instruments. Prevalence rate, ANOVA and multiple linear regression method were used to analyze the level of Internet addiction and its association with parental relationship, hyperactivity-impulsivity, as well as the interaction of parental relationship with chronological age and hyperactivity-impulsivity. Results: The prevalence rate of Internet addiction was 13.5% (16.5% for boys and 9.5% for girls, p<0.01). Compared to non-addictive users, addictive Internet users were scored significantly lower on parental relationships and significantly higher on hyperactivity-impulsivity. Interaction analysis indicated that better parental relationship was associated with more reductions in risk of addictive Internet use for younger students than for older students, and with more risk of Internet addiction among higher than among lower hyperactivity-impulsivity students. Conclusions: Findings of this study indicate that adolescent addictive Internet use is a significant public health threat in China. Accurate evaluation of emission governance efficiency can build fundament to develop haze control strategy towards sustainable development. By features of the haze, we view the haze formation stage as the first sub-process and the haze control stage as the second sub-process. This paper proposes an additive aggregation network data envelopment analysis (DEA) model with undesirable intermediate measures and undesirable outputs, which have not been thoroughly studied in previous literature. We found the newly developed network DEA model was nonlinear and cannot be converted into a linear program, and then developed an improved second-order cone programming approach to solve this problem. After analyzing the data of haze control in China, we drew the following conclusions: Firstly, different weights of preference for two sub-process can lead to the variation in the overall efficiency. Under different weights of preference, although the efficiency of the haze formation has a very small change in some provinces, the efficiency of the haze control has a large change. Secondly, decision makers can achieve the adjust goal of reducing haze by adjusting their preferences on the information of the haze formation and haze control stages, which are helpful for policy making in haze control strategy and sustainable development. With the acceleration of industrialization and urbanization, the problem of air pollution in China has become increasingly serious. Particulate matter (PM) is a representative indicator of pollutants, and it is of great significance to carry out targeted treatment by studying its periodicity of concentration. In this paper, as a data mining information technology, the Empirical Mode Decomposition-Wavelet Analysis (EMD-WA) model is used to conduct a multi-scale periodic study of the PM 2.5 concentration time sequence in the Yangtze River Delta region in China and it is found that: (1) through the decomposition and reconstruction of the EMD-WA model, the period characteristics of four scales from short to long can be obtained, which are seasonal, short, medium and long period terms respectively; (2) the PM 2.5 concentration in the Yangtze River Delta region shows obvious multi-scale periodicity for the four scales, which includes a seasonal cycle of 46 days (about 1.5 months), a short cycle of 101 days (about 3.5 months), a medium cycle of 294 days (about 10 months), and a long cycle of 671 days (about 22.5 months), respectively. (3) The results are consistent in terms of season, short and middle cycle scales, in north (Jiangsu), east (Shanghai), south (Zhejiang) and west (Anhui) of the Yangtze River Delta region, but there are significant differences in the terms of long cycle scales. (4) The PM 2.5 concentration still shows obvious periodicity within 240 h during severe haze in the Yangtze River Delta region. However, meteorological data, loss data, social economic data and so forth relating to meteorological disasters rarely be effectively fused, failing to generate, rapidly and efficiently, economic losses and thus hindering the emergency management of disasters. A new economic losses evaluation information system has been developed for monitoring severe rainfall and flooding disasters in cities. The data mining method, econometric regression model and input-output model are implemented in the system, on the basis of multi-source data including hourly rainfall, geographical conditions, historical and real-time disaster information, socioeconomic data, and defense countermeasure. Combined with the weather forecast information, this system can has the capability for reporting the real-time direct and indirect economic losses incurred by urban heavy rainfall and flooding disasters, automatically generating defense countermeasure reports for typical rainstorm and flooding points, and providing the spatial distribution of disasters. Consequently, how to evaluate the environmental efficiency of ports and put forward corresponding countermeasures on this basis is becoming a more important issue than ever before from the perspectives of the government, academia, and society. We construct three data envelopment analysis (DEA) models to evaluate the environmental efficiency of ports under the circumstances of environmental control, non-environmental control and PM emission through inter-ports cooperation. The innovation of the DEA models constructed in this paper lies in: (1) Setting environmental control parameters to uniformly manipulate the situations of environmental control and non-environmental control, etc.; (2) Allowing non-equal proportional change of input index, expected output and non-expected output index; (3) Setting preference coefficients for ports to admit favorable decisions; (4) Providing a distance formula of expected output for PM emission reallocation. Further, data from 11 major ports in China are collected to compare the expected output under different PM emission standards assuming the situation of environmental control and non-environmental control, port cooperation, and non-cooperative sewage discharge. The empirical results show that: (1) Ports in the eastern China (Shanghai, Ningbo, and Nanjing) have higher port efficiency; (2) Port cooperation can improve the overall expected output but it will lose its edge with the improvement of PM emission standards. As global climate warms, the occurrence frequency and loss of natural disaster are both increasing, posing a great threat to the sustainable development of human society. One of the most important approaches of disaster management is to prevent disaster and reduce disaster loss through fiscal expenditure of government; however, the optimal proportion of expenditure for disaster prevention and mitigation has always been a difficult issue that people concern about. First, this paper, after considering the impact of disaster on human capital, established a resident-manufacturer-government decision making model which contains the probability of disaster, and then solved the optimal proportion of government expenditure for disaster prevention and reduction as well as the expected economic growth rates under different conditions. Second, through numerical simulation method, this paper studied the impacts of such factors as coefficient of risk aversion and elasticity coefficient of substitution on the optimal proportion of disaster prevention and reduction expenditure. Third, through constant elasticity of substitution (CES) production function and ridge regression method, this paper verified the applicability of the proposed model with the data of the expenditures for disaster prevention and mitigation of Hunan Province in 2014. Finally, this paper summarized the research results and put forward corresponding suggestions on policy. Disasters are serious challenges to human development and the sustainability of the planet and, due climate change, natural disasters are becoming more frequent. International aid, which can effectively alleviate resultant losses and sustainable implications, has become an important way for humans to resist disasters cooperatively. Relevant research on how much each country should donate sustainably is barely seen. Against such a background, by taking into account indirect economic loss to and payment ability of donors, this paper proposes a novel framework and detailed input-output model for determining the amount of international aid that countries and multilateral organizations should allocate to disaster-stricken countries. To validate our method, the May 12th Wenchuan earthquake of 2008 is taken as example, and the indirect economic loss to each country is calculated based on the world input-output tables. Assuming that the total amount of aid is unchanged, the greater the indirect economic loss and payment ability are, the larger the amount of aid should be. Otherwise, the smaller the amount of aid should be. Based on the China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs statistics, the results show that among the 41 donors, 6 countries including Indonesia, Australia, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, and Japan donated too much while 23 countries such as India donated too little. Next, the recommended amount of aid is given by considering the indirect economic loss to and payment ability of each country. The advantage of this framework and method line in that the calculation results are objective and concise, while the disadvantage is that the indirect economic loss is relatively large and the recommend donate is uncertain. This study applies the DEA-Malmquist productivity index methodology to estimate the total factor productivity of the three major cruise companies worldwide from 2003 to 2022. This is done in an effort to reveal the resilience characteristics under the impact of the epidemic shock and examine the features of the growth of operational efficiency in the cruise sector. The findings indicate that Tech is the primary factor causing an increase in the TFP of cruise firms, while scale efficiency change is the primary method of technical efficiency change improvement. This study analyzes the efficacy of the commercial methods employed by significant cruise lines in response to the outbreak,in order to understand the resilience of major cruise companies under the impact of the epidemic. The rapid development of China's economy and urbanization has given rise to noticeable environmental problems, among which the change of air quality has received extensive attention. The panel data of PM2.5 (particles with an aerodynamic diameter of 2.5 µm or less) in 343 prefecture-level cities in China from 1998 to 2016 were statistically analyzed to reveal the characteristics of the temporal evolution and spatial variation of China's air quality in the past two decades. The results show that: 1) the overall deterioration trend of air quality is obvious throughout the country. The variation trend of PM2.5 was divided into three phases: rapid-growth phase (1998–2007), lag phase (2006–2011) and mildly-incremental phase (2012–2016), with their average growth rates of 7.19%, −3.59% and 0.52%, respectively. 2) The spatial difference of PM2.5 values in China increased significantly with time. Since 2003, the high-value area in the east has expanded rapidly, and polarization became much more pronounced. The change rate of PM2.5 is high in the east and west and low in the middle. The change rates of most areas in the west exceed more than 80%, and in the east lie somewhere between 40% and 60%. In the midlands, the change rate is not large and some regions even show a negative growth. 3) The change rate of PM2.5 is also high in areas with higher values. However, in regions where the change rate of PM2.5 is high, the value of PM2.5 is not always high. The high change rate is mainly attributable to the low base value of PM2.5 and the cities concerned belong to sensitive areas. 4) According to the PM2.5 warning index, the number of strong, medium, weak and non-warning areas in China is 45, 85, 159 and 54, respectively. To address this, we propose a framework that consists of mix scale division (watersheds, riparian buffers, and circular buffers), and conduct a case study in the Yuanjiang River Basin (YJRB). Scale effects and non-linear impacts of various influencing factors on water quality were identified. The case study results revealed the variations of these water quality indicators were predominated by different influencing factors at various sales, such as by slope (SL) at the scale of riparian buffer (w) = 500 m and circular buffer (r) = 15 km (with a contribution percentage of 16.6 %), mean annual temperature (TE) at the watershed scale (23.4 %), annual precipitation (PR) at the scale of w = watershed and r = 15 km etc. The percentage of cultivated land (CL) > 28 % at the scale (w = 500 m, r = 50 km) will lead to increase in total phosphorus (TP) and SL > 26° at the scale (w = 500 m, r = 15 km) will lead to increase in pondus hydrogenii (pH). While, POP > 30 person per unit area at the scale (w = 100 m, r = 1 km), SL > 24° at the scale (w = 500 m, r = 15 km), NDVI > 0.48 at the scale (w = 500 m, r = 5 km) and PR > 1300 mm at the scale (w = watershed, r = 15 km) will lead to decrease in ammonia nitrogen (NH 3 -N) , total nitrogen (TN), electrical conductivity (EC) and turbidity (NTU) respectively. Confronted with the constraints of carbon dioxide reduction, R&D improves the production efficiency of enterprises. However, China's diversified economic entity structure makes enterprises with different attributes exhibit different R&D behaviors under the constraints of external carbon dioxide reduction. This paper takes Ten Thousand Enterprises Plan as an example, which belongs to the front-end policy and restricts the enterprise's carbon emission rights, reveals the impact of carbon dioxide reduction constraint on enterprises' R&D investment and alleviates the endogenous bias of previous research. Moreover, this paper explores the moderating effect of ownership structure on the relationship between carbon dioxide reduction policy and enterprises' R&D investment. The results show that the relationship between carbon reduction policy and enterprises' R&D investment in China is manifested as a significant "cost effect", that is, mandatory carbon emission reduction policy limits the expansion of enterprises' R&D investment scale. Comparing state-owned enterprises with non-state-owned enterprises, carbon dioxide reduction policy can hardly stimulate the R&D investment in non-state-owned enterprises, while the state-owned enterprises can easily obtain factor resources, which decreases carbon emission reduction costs and improve R&D investment intention, resulting in stronger R&D behaviors. • Alleviates the endogenous bias of previous research focus on carbon dioxide reduction and R&D based on front-end policy. • Policy implementation limits enterprises' R&D investment through investment intention and carbon dioxide reduction cost. • Carbon dioxide reduction policy hardly stimulates the R&D investment in non-state-owned enterprises. • Incentivizing investment intention and reducing reduction costs are effective ways to enhance the policy effect. In order to increase the supply of assimilated carbon to grain, a new stay-green wheat cultivar, Chuannongl7 (CN17), with delayed leaf senescence, carrying wheat-rye 1RS.1BL translocated chromosome was developed. CN17 exhibited distinct differences in net photosynthetic rate (Pn), chlorophyll (ChI) content, malondialdehyde (MDA) content, activity of both superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) during the grain filling stage, and flag leaf senescence compared with the control. The new cultivar maintained longer and higher photosynthetic competence compared with the control, and this aspect correlated with the difference in chloroplast development. Moreover, the stay-green phenotype of CN17 was also observed under natural growth conditions. Consequently, the coordination of the physiological, biochemical, and structural aspects in the stay-green cultivar produced higher seed weights and per-plant yield compared with the control cultivar. Under the premise that the total emissions of PM (particulate matter) of air pollution is established, the allocation of PM emission rights in various provinces of China is the feasible way to governance the ash haze. In this paper, a data envelopment analysis (DEA) model that takes into account the objectives of efficiency and equity is constructed. On the basis of evaluating the PM emission performance of various provinces in China, the corresponding allocation steps are put forward. Then, the results of the DEA model and information entropy are compared. The research shows that: (1) under the same constraint conditions, the emission right of PM is allocated with DEA model, which leads to lower cost, less fluctuation of distribution amount and higher overall national performance. (2) the population Gini coefficient method is used to evaluate and it is found that the Gini coefficient value is smaller according to the distribution results of DEA model, indicating that the PM emission right amount is more fairly distributed among provinces. Gasoline is one of the most consumed light petroleum products in transportation and other industries. This paper proposes a method for optimizing gasoline octane loss using data analysis technology aimed at optimizing the production process and minimizing the loss of gasoline octane. Firstly, the data are screened and the high-dimensional data are reduced to construct the neural network prediction model optimized by genetic algorithm. After utilizing the model for prediction, the optimal operating condition is achieved. Secondly, ensuring that the gasoline emission meets the standard, the octane loss is reduced by adjusting the operating variables. Thirdly, actual data are collected and calculated to obtain the main operating variables and their optimal operating conditions of a petrochemical company affecting the catalytic cracking gasoline S-Zorb unit, thus providing companies using S-Zorb units with reference data for optimizing gasoline catalytic cracking processes. Fourthly, the superiority of the proposed method was verified by comparing it with the other methods. Background: There have been no previous report of hand joint destruction prevalence in Chinese rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence and potential factors of hand joint destruction among RA patients from Nantong China. In addition, we wanted to examine the differences between functional capacity, psychological status, and quality of life in patients with hand joint destruction compared to those without hand joint destruction.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University between July 2015 and June 2016. RA patients completed questionnaires for demographic or clinical variables, the 10-cm Visual Analog Scale for pain, the 28-joint Disease Activity Score-erythrocyte sedimentation rate for disease activity, the Health Assessment Questionnaire-disability index for physical function, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale for anxiety and depression, and the Short Form 36 health survey for quality of life. Laboratory examinations were taken to obtain some biochemical indicators (e.g., rheumatoid factor, anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody). X-ray assessment of hand was performed and hand joint destruction was defined as Sharp score > 0. Independent sample t-test, Mann-Whitney U-test, Chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using backward stepwise logistic regression model were used to analyze these data.Results: One hundred and sixty-one RA patients were included in this study. Radiographic findings revealed that almost 47.2% (n = 76) of patients had hand joint destruction. Multivariate analysis found that education ≤ 9 years (p = 0.041), anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody positive (p = 0.021), high disease activity (p = 0.020), and long disease duration (p < 0.001) were important potential risk factors of hand joint destruction. Participants with hand joint destruction tended to have lower physical function and quality of life, and more severe depressive symptoms compared to individuals without hand joint destruction.Conclusions: 47.2% of people with RA from Nantong China experienced hand joint destruction. Education, anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody, disease activity, and disease duration had great impacts on hand joint destruction. The results suggested that rheumatologists should pay attention to RA patients' hand joint destruction, especially those with low education levels, anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody positive, high disease activity, and long disease duration by patient education or other ways to improve patients' prognosis. Background: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has high sensitivity but low specificity for breast cancer, and consequently, new techniques to improve the specificity of breast MRI in diagnosing breast cancer are under development.Purpose: To assess the ability of the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) compared with the ADC ratio (ADCr) to differentially diagnose benign compared with malignant breast lesions.Material and Methods: Forty-eight women with breast lesions (average age, 45 years) underwent MRI scanning including T1-weighted dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) scanning and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI). The average ADC and ADCr values for both lesions and pectoralis major muscles (ADCrmuscle and ADCrmuscle) were measured in patients with malignant (n = 25) and benign (n = 23) breast lesions. The ADCr of the contralateral breast (ADCr contralateral) was also evaluated. All histology was confirmed by pathological analysis of biopsied tissue. ADC and ADCr values were analyzed using receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves.Results: For benign lesions compared with malignant lesions, lesion-side ADC was 1.45 vs. 1.05, respectively (P < 0.001), normal-side ADC was 1.82 vs.1.64 (P = 0.002), ADCrmuscle was 1.35 vs. 0.9 (P < 0.001), and ADCrcontralateral was 0.79 vs. 0.64 (P = 0.001). ADCrmuscle showed higher sensitivity (82.61%) and specificity (96.00%) than ADCrcontralateral (60.87% and 92.00%, respectively) and ADC (69.57% and 96.00%) for discriminating malignant from benign lesions. The AUC using ADCrmuscle had higher discriminatory power (0.92, P < 0.001) for malignant versus benign breast lesions compared with either ADC (0.82, P < 0.001) or ADCrcontralateral (0.78, P = 0.001).Conclusion: The ADCrmuscle value showed higher sensitivity and specificity and improved diagnostic accuracy compared with either ADC or ADCrcontralateral in differentiating benign from malignant breast lesions. Urbanization has been viewed as an important factor in rapidly increasing carbon emissions. While urbanization relates to various aspects across space and time, a comprehensive assessment of its influences on carbon emission remains scare. In order to explore the multiple effects of urbanization on carbon emissions, a spatial panel data model was applied in this study, by combing nighttime light remote sensing data form 1995 to 2015 in the case of Zhejiang, China. The results showed that on time series, carbon emissions showed an overall trend of growing rapidly first and slowing down then, and its growth rate was closely related to the socio-economic development. Spatially, high carbon emission areas were mainly concentrated in the northeast and eastern coastal areas, while the southwest regions were the main low-carbon emission areas. Furthermore, the investigation of impact factors revealed that the expansion and fragmentation of urban land, augment of the secondary industry, and consumption behavior would lead to growth in carbon emissions, while the connectivity between urban lands, rising of urban population, and residents' low-carbon awareness could promote carbon mitigation. To be noticed, the impact of economic growth on carbon emissions may gradually be weakening as the industry upgrades. Overall, this research has provided a useful insight into the relationship between urbanization and carbon emissions that can support policy makers and urban planners. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
