The aim of the paper is to put a stress on the significance of the context when facts from the history of philosophy are interpreted. The study of this particular case is based on research of archives, testifying simultaneously that the D. Abstract
The text is a paper presented at the scientific conference "Events and Turns in the Historical Development of the Philosophical Thought in Bulgaria" and is devoted both to the fiftieth anniversary of the foundation of the Department of History of Philosophy at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and to the eightieth anniversary of one of its long-standing leaders - Michael Bachvarov. The progress of the Department of Historical-Philosophical studies as well as the theoretical investigations of professor Bachvarov are analyzed.
