INDUSTRIAL development projects , *PUBLIC finance , *PERSONAL finance , *PAPER mills , *FACTORIES , *EMINENT domain , *ZONING - Abstract
The incidence of paper mills in the Três Lagoas region, as of 2009, brought a series of commitments and consequences to the settlers of the agrarian reform. With the offer of unlimited tax exemptions, public financing through BNDES and other industrial development programs and projects, the industries established and started the processes for the duplication of their industrial plants. Already, the settlers are at the mercy, therefore, can not obtain access to investments, nor to the financing of public banks and other development agencies. In this perspective, the only source of financing for family agricultural production ends up being the paper mills themselves, through their PDS - sustainable development plans and programs. Only in the settlement where the research was given there are 181 lots, but less than 20 were benefited by the financing. In this sense, the form and the model of financing, the speed and volume of resources contributed are at the absolute and exclusive discretion of the own pulleys, which has social and economic repercussions among the settlers, creating as a zone of imprisonment of the settlers to the paper, here called cages of paper. LITERATURE reviews , *ONLINE journalism , *DIGITAL communications , *CENTRALITY , *PUBLIC relations , *JOURNALISM - Abstract
This paper describes the research published during the period 2011-2020 by five leading Spanish peer-reviewed journals of communication, aiming to identify the most common theoretical frameworks and standard theories. A statistically representative sample of the articles published during that period was systematically selected from the five journals of communication ranked as having the greatest continuity and impact according to SJR-Scopus: Profesional de la Información, Comunicar, Communication & Society, Estudios sobre el Mensaje Periodístico and Revista Latina de Comunicación Social. A coding protocol that includes 13 variables and 74 categories was defined and applied to compare the type of theoretical frameworks and the theories in the different subject areas observed. The results show that although almost all the papers studied have a theoretical framework, fewer than half are grounded on recognizable theories. Specifically, journalism and digital communication are the two subject areas whose articles frequently include standard theories: in journalism by the support of classical theories of communication (framing, agenda setting, journalistic professional cultures and roles), and in digital communication by the support of more theoretically dispersed frameworks. Theoretical frameworks developed by literature review are common in other subject areas (such as audiovisual studies, public relations and documentation). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LEAN construction , *WASTE paper , *WASTE products , *CONSTRUCTION industry , *INFORMATION skills - Abstract
Research shows that there is a significant resources waste in construction, and accordingly lagging in productivity behind the productivity of the global economy and industry in particular. There is also a small number of papers and studies on this waste. On the other hand, a higher productivity level requires small waste of material, energy and other inputs. Therefore, construction companies are deciding to introduce lean as one of the leading methods of waste reduction. This paper deals with the introduction of lean in construction companies in BiH, currently at very low level. Bearing in mind that most construction companies in BiH are small, it concludes that introducing lean and thus reducing the resources waste and increasing productivity and competitiveness requires more information and particularly skills improvements. - Abstract
In this paper we aim to discuss how participants, advisor and student, jointly build understandings about what counts as academic writing during an orientation session, and how these understandings are developed by the student in writing a term paper. The theoretical-methodological approach adopted are the assumptions of linguistic ethnography (RAMPTON; MAYBIN; ROBERTS, 2014; GARCEZ, SCHULZ, 2015), understanding ethnography as theorization (LILLIS, 2008), studies of Academic Literacies (LILLIS; SCOTT, 2007; LEA; STREET, 2014) and the dialogism of the Bakhtin Circle (BAKHTIN, 2016; VOLOCHINOV, 2017). As a result, we recognize that the student brings school writing standards to write his term paper and the negotiation with the advisor leads him to gradually recognize what counts as writing in this literacy practice that involves research. Negotiations about what counts as legitimate for a term paper are also determined by the socio-historical positions that language subjects mutually attribute and by the dialogue established with different interlocutors (advisor, possible reader, academy). EDUCATIONAL sociology , *MEDICAL societies , *PRIMARY care , *MEDICAL education , *COLLEGE teaching - Abstract
Having teaching staff with didactic qualifications in university teaching leads to a measurable improvement in academic skills among students. Previous recommendations on the type and scope of medical didactic qualification measures primarily apply to teaching staff at university and in-patient settings. The situation of primary care medicine, which often employs external lecturers and whose teaching takes place to a considerable extent in decentralized training facilities (teaching practices) is not adequately addressed. Taking into account a survey on the status quo at higher education institutions for General Practice in Germany, recommendations for min- imum standards are made, based on national and international recom- mendations on the content and scope of medical didactic qualification measures. These recommendations include preliminary work by the Personnel and Organizational Development in Teaching (POiL) Committee of the Society for Medical Education (GMA), the MedicalTeachingNetwork (MDN), the Society of University Teaching Staff in General Medicine (GHA) as well as the experiences of the committee members, who hail from the field of general medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics amongst others. This investigation studies the Buena Vista II neighborhood of Villa del Rosario-Norte de Santander, characterized by its displaced population, victim of the Colombian internal armed conflict. It develops a documentary approach that contextualizes the consequences of the conflict and conceptually defines quality of life. Its methodological framework has a mixed approach; qualitative, which recognizes the dynamics and habitability conditions of the population under study and; quantitative, which performs a population characterization from the social, economic and environmental dimensions that allows to identify the quality of life needs of the inhabitants. This research allows us to establish the impact of architecture on the quality of life of the population's victims of the Colombian armed conflict, as an element that determines repair and rehabilitation processes in the context of the post-conflict. PSYCHOTHERAPY , *COGNITIVE therapy , *BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL model , *PSYCHOLOGICAL techniques , *QUALITY of life - Abstract
This paper delves deeply into chronic pain in children, a complex condition that affects not only their physical well-being, but also their psychological, emotional, and social development. Unlike acute pain, chronic pain tends to persist over the long term, negatively impacting children's quality of life and daily functioning. The paper emphasizes the importance of an interdisciplinary and holistic approach based on the biopsychosocial model, which recognizes the interaction between biological, psychological, and social factors in pain management. Specific psychological intervention techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, are discussed, along with the crucial role of the family in supporting the child. The paper also examines the key differences between therapeutic approaches for children and adults, highlighting the need for personalized strategies. The conclusions suggest that a treatment centered on the individual needs of the child, addressing all dimensions of chronic pain, can prevent the development of long-term psychosocial problems and contribute to the child's harmonious development and improved quality of life. LOVE of God , *THEOLOGY , *THEOLOGIANS , *EMOTIONS , *PHILOSOPHERS - Abstract
The Bible testifies to the fusion of faith and love, but love was never the focus of theology and the theologians ignored it. In this paper, the factors of inattention to the concept of love in theology were first studied. This is due to accepting an image of love that separates its two types: agape love, which is not rooted in the attractive characteristics of the beloved, and erotic love, which is motivated by the characteristics of the beloved. The first type of love was admitted in classical theology, and love in relation to God and neighbor was described accordingly, but the second type was usually forbidden. The theology of love in this writing, by revising this division, accepts the definition of the erotic tradition of love in theology since it considers it a non-mysterious and explainable image of love. In criticizing the common attitude about love, the point of view of Alan Soble, a contemporary philosopher, was used; therefore, it was shown that love in relation to God is explicable in the erotic tradition and can respond to challenges. This attitude includes various elements, and in the paper, only the theological elements were discussed, including: God is personal, has emotions, is present in the world, in union with man and having care attribute. - Abstract
In recent years, some scholarly journals have indicated that they accept rewritten or extended version of a conference paper as long as new content are added to the journal article manuscript and that the original conference paper is included in the references. The extended publishing of conference papers now becomes topic worthy of investigation. This study analyzed the extended works of the conference papers from three major conferences in the fields of information management, i.e., Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)'s ACM Conference on Electronic Commerce (ACM EC), ACM Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (ACM KDD), and ACM International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (ACM CIKM). Papers from the 2011 meetings were used as the sample to understand to what extent conference papers have been extended into journal articles and other forms and the lag between conference and journal publishing. It also examined the differences between the conference papers and their extended versions (i.e., journal papers) by comparing the changes in authorship, references, article length, tables, and figures. It reveals the current practices of extending conference papers for journal publishing in the information management fields and may help us understand the contemporary scholarly publishing behavior. - Abstract
This study aims to compare the evidence level of environmental indicators that follow the GRI guidelines, related to the three leading companies in 2012, within the Brazilian pulp and paper industry, Suzano, Klabin and Fibria. To achieve this goal, an analysis of annual sustainability reports and websites of the companies was conducted. The companies primarily reported those aspects related to materials, water, biodiversity and others, while products and services, compliance, and energy were less emphasized. The results show that the three companies presented a low evidence level, with missing or incomplete indicators. Finally, despite the reports presented and classified as A+ and B+, it is possible to conclude that the companies did not include key indicators and presented unorganized information and a lack of standardization. COMING out (Sexual orientation) , *FAMILY support , *YOUNG adults , *FAMILY relations , *SOCIAL control , *EMOTIONAL experience - Abstract
This paper presents some scientific contributions on the subject of the development of sexual identity in adolescents and young adults. In the field of psychology, investigating the development of sexual identity is particularly important to understand, plan and implement interventions to support queer children in the internal and external coming out process. Despite the fact that the international scientific world has registered a decline in the phenomena of discrimination and social control in the sporting, academic and school contexts, in 2021 Italy ranked last in the Rainbow Europe Map and Index. According to the Minority Stress Theory, many young people who identify with the queer community experience distal and proximal stressors which can lead to the development of: worry, relationship difficulties and/or anxiety, and depressive states. Among the main causes of this malaise is the internalisation of sexual prejudice, which is spread and perpetrated by the homophobic culture still present in the West. This report identifies the main individual, social and cultural factors affecting the well-being of these sexual minorities in order to design effective support strategies to be implemented in the family environment. Indeed, the family represents the primary social network through which individuals form their cognitions and values, where they initiate their first relationships, experience emotions and feelings, and learn emotional and relational skills, but also the first potential context of exposure and/or education to sexual prejudice. This paper, therefore, focuses on the relationship between: i) the family value system and external coming out; ii) coming out in the family and the level of family cohesion; iii) family support for individual autonomy and the public declaration of one’s sexual identity to family members; iv) having a stable romantic relationship and coming out in the family; v) the arrangement of friendships within the queer community, and the public disclosure of one’s sexual identity; vi) internalised sexual prejudice, by the adolescent himself and/or his loved ones, and coming out. This review also wishes to encourage an exploratory research project into family units resistant to accepting and welcoming LGBTQICAPF2K+ children, living in our country and referred to as heteronormative Italian families. - Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of the review/replacement process of IFRS 6, taking into account the perspective of various interest groups, expressed in 141 comment letters submitted to public hearing of the Discussion Paper Extractive Activities promoted by the International Accounting Standard Board (IASB). These letters were analyzed following the methodology of content analysis, and the results are supported in institutional theory. The results show that IASB possibly have difficulty implementing its legislative proposal, given its majority rejection by the various interest groups participating in the public hearing, which rely on institutionalized practices based on the methods of successful efforts, total capitalization or area of interest, that conflict with the proposal made by the international body, and it is therefore a scenario where it is believed in maintaining the current status quo. - Abstract
The need to reconfigure current supply models to address future climate and demographic scenarios has driven researchers and investors to experiment with innovative production systems that have reconnected agricultural production to the point of consumption, namely cities. The technological acceleration of the past decade has led to the emergence of new urban architectures and metabolisms, often created within regulatory gaps and constraints arising from the obsolescence of zoning plans or building regulations. This paper outlines the state of the art of technological innovation and how, along with design, it has reshaped norms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Design is nowadays facing a system of rules that has over time responded to the growing complexity of construction with a regulatory proliferation that acts precautionarily against infringements and the condition of "anomie". This paper outlines new interpretative models of the relationship between rules and design that, overcoming this impasse, guarantee quality, flexibility, experimentation and innovation. Based on the illustration of the regulatory tasks positioned between obligation and guideline, and between duty and opportunity, keywords are highlighted to illuminate its peculiar aspects, demonstrating how the necessary paradigm shift is already inherent in its own conception. Finally, starting from a recent French case study, the essay summarises experimental approaches and strategies that pursue a possible innovation in national regulatory models. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

DURABILITY , *REHABILITATION - Abstract
Based on measurements and research, diagnostics of the condition of a structure aims to provide an answer to the question of what the condition of the structure is, and the necessary steps for reconstruction or rehabilitation. Masonry stone construction is one of the oldest methods of construction of building structures. In spite of that, this type of structures does not have fully defined parameters that influence its behavior. The reason for this is the fact that the properties of masonry stone structures differ depending on the basic material (stone) and binding material (mortar), as well as their combination. The paper presents diagnostics of the condition of masonry structures on the Tabija tower building. Tabija, a low tower for cannons, is a fortification structure from the Ottoman period that is the most completely preserved and was registered for the first time in the city plan from 1717. The structure is in poor condition due to a large number of natural and human factors. The paper will present a detailed visual inspection of the structure, as well as tests conducted in the laboratory and in-situ, the calculation, and decisions and proposals for the rehabilitation and/or reconstruction of the considered building of cultural and historical heritage. This paper presents the freshwater limestones, from tenelija and (Mostar) miljevina, which are intercalated in the Mukoba deposit near Mostar, and their "stone cousins," Posušje miljevina and Tomislavgrad muljika. In the process of diagenesis they acquired a specific orientation and structure (especially tenelija), which gave them specific physical properties (small bulk density, high porosity and permeability), which "classic" limestones used in construction do not have, and which were decisive for the choice of this stone for construction of the Old Bridge and other buildings in the wider area of Mostar and in the area of Posubje municipality, but also in other karst poljes of Herzegovina and southwestern Bosnia, in parts of Central Bosnia, and Miljevina near Foča. The second part of the paper presents the so-called built-in (internal) factors that the builders try to avoid in order for freshwater limestones that are built into numerous stone buildings and/or monuments to avoid complex processes of stone changes, or weathering (decay) of stone due to its interaction with various environmental conditions (external factors). It covers the problems and significance of the choice of stone, the method and (often too small) depth of its extraction from the deposit for the construction of significant buildings, insufficiently long aging (storage) after extraction, incorrect installation (stacking) of the stone in relation to its position in the deposit, as well as various errors in stone processing and execution, along with inadequate maintenance. POSTVACCINAL encephalitis , *FEBRILE seizures , *SEIZURES (Medicine) , *SLEEP spindles , *STATUS epilepticus - Abstract
Introduction: Febrile seizure is a convulsion associated with an elevated body temperature (>38.5˚C), but without any serious underlying health issues, with a high incidence in children aged between 6 months and 5 years. Most seizures last less than five minutes, and the child returns completely to normal within an hour of the event. An acute symptomatic convulsive seizure occurs in close temporal relation to an acute CNS lesion, which may be metabolic, toxic, structural, infectious, or "immune." Sometimes the diagnosis can be wrong when the febrile convulsive seizure is a symptom of an underlying cerebral condition, often inflammatory. The aim of this paper is to elucidate the symptomatic polymorphism of inflammatory CNS pathology through the lens of a clinical case. Material and methods: A child was admitted in the Neurology department, was evaluated for complaints of febrile status epilepticus, undergoing neurological, electroencephalographic (EEG), and imaging examinations. Results: Seizures occurred with fever lasting more than 15 minutes. The onset was against the background of an acute respiratory infection. Pathological signs: pronounced hypotonia. On the EEG: slow delta-theta activity predominates, with maximum amplitude in the posterior regions with interregional asymmetry (left>right); in the anterior regions, the amplitude of the slow rhythm is 20-40 μV, with superimposed beta rhythm; in the FTS test 3-33 Hz, in phase II, sleep spindle asymmetry was recorded (in the left hemisphere, sleep spindles are almost absent, possibly signs of distress in the left hemisphere); in the left occipital region, there is a predominance of the delta rhythm (possibly organic in nature). Brain CT imaging: multifocal encephalomalacia with cortico-subcortical extension in the left fronto-temporo-parietal regions and in the right parietal region, in the projection of the thalamus bilaterally, more evident on the left (possibly of inflammatory genesis). Diagnosis: Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM). Treatment: intravenous human immunoglobulin, corticosteroid therapy, antibiotic therapy, antiviral treatment, symptomatic therapy. Conclusions: Cerebral involvement in ADEM can be a cause of symptomatic febrile seizures. In such cases, the EEG pattern is specific and characterized by regional slowing and an excess of slow delta-theta waves. Treatment with immunoglobulin and corticosteroid therapy helps in the recovery of these patients and the prevention of neurological complications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PROOF of God , *THEISM , *EIGHTEENTH century , *PHILOSOPHERS , *ATHEISTS , *ATHEISM , *AGNOSTICISM - Abstract
In the second half of the eighteenth century, with the publication of non-religious philosophy, Hume claimed that the existence of God is impossible, therefore his contemporaries viewed him as a downright atheist. Recently, and despite the interpretations of the last two centuries, Hume has not been introduced as an atheist, but as an agnostic, theist, and deist. According to these three attitudes, perhaps Hume has either suspended the claims of thick theism and thin theism, or has explicitly endorsed the existence of God, or has defended from unknown commitment regarding the existence of wisdom that is the origin, creator, and ruler of this world. This paper rejects the mentioned four readings and shows that Hume is a weak and non-dogmatic atheist. Because, this philosopher, by demonstrating that the claims of thick theism are groundless, concludes that the existence of God, with a rich set of attributes, is impossible. However, Hume's attitude to thin theism is not so sharp. Thin theism is not wrong and incredible. According to him, thin theism is empty and useless, and it does not deserve to be investigated by any skeptic. In fact, Hume neither denied, nor suspended, nor endorsed thin theism; If he denied it, he would known as downright atheist, if he suspended it, he would known as downright agnostic, and if he endorsed it, he would know as genuine theist and attenuated deist. CARDIOTOXICITY - Abstract
One of the guiding principles of cardio-oncology practice is to minimize the unnecessary interruption of antineoplastic therapy. The overall goal of the specialty is to ensure that cancer patients receive the best possible anticancer therapy safely, while minimizing cancer therapy-related cardiovascular toxicity (CTR-CVT) during oncology care. In this paper, we describe prior and current definitions of CTR-CVT and briefly present the landmark CARDIOTOX registry, as well as corresponding parts of the recently published, first cardio-oncology guideline of the European Society of Cardiology. In our paper, we aim to provide insight into the cardio-oncology-related aspects of precision medicine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CULTURAL property , *PAPER arts , *TURKISH language , *CULTURAL values , *FOLK music , *PROTECTION of cultural property - Abstract
The term intangible cultural heritage has begun to be used with the convention for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO and has been conceptualized. Intangible Cultural Heritage is defined; as practices, representation, expressions, skills which are defined by communities as part of their cultural heritages, and tools and cultural environments related to them. The fact that intangible cultural heritage is preserved to the extent it is transmittedrequires evaluating the agenda related to education. Starting from this point, the main purpose of this study is to investigate elements of intangible cultural heritage included in Turkish language course books of grades 6 and 8. This study which tries to determine whether Turkish language course books fulfil the duty that they take is a qualitative research, and it has been evaluated through document review method. According to the findings; Intangible cultural heritage elements included in the UNESCO list and in the national inventory of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and included in both class books: Minstrel Tradition and the Semah Ceremony; only grade 6 element is Karagöz; Grade 8 items only; Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling Festival, Traditional Tile Mastery, Alevi-Bektashi Ritual Semah, Marbling: Turkish Paper Decoration Art, Dede Qorqud Heritage: Epic Culture, Folk Tales and Music, Nawruz. In reference to the findings, it is likely to express that it is necessary to enrich Turkish language course books with texts involving more expressions related to intangible cultural values. - Abstract
Recent developments in medical education have created increasing challenges for medical teachers which is why the majority of German medical schools already offer educational and instructional skills trainings for their teaching staff. However, to date no framework for educational core competencies for medical teachers exists that might serve as guidance for the qualification of the teaching faculty. Against the background of the discussion about competency based medical education and based upon the international literature, the GMA Committee for Faculty and Organizational Development in Teaching developed a model of core teachingcompetencies for medical teachers. This framework is designed not only to provide guidance with regard to individual qualification profiles but also to support further advancement of the content, training formats and evaluation of faculty development initiatives and thus, to establish uniform quality criteria for such initiatives in German-speaking medical schools. The model comprises a framework of six competency fields, subdivided into competency components and learning objectives. Additional examples of their use in medical teaching scenarios illustrate and clarify each specific teaching competency. The model has been designed for routine application in medical schools and is thought to be complemented consecutively by additional competencies for teachers with special duties and responsibilities in a future step. SPRING - Abstract
Land use and settlement dynamics of two rural areas defined by the contact karst spring is the subject of this paper. The research area consists of the spring catchment of Ljubija in the northeast part of Slovenia and Gradole, the most water-rich spring in Istria (northwest Croatia), have been surveyed in terms of environmental conditions, and social and historic land use aspects. We used Statistical data and Geographic Information System (GIS) methods. Via a multidisciplinary approach we discovered that: 1) environmentally, both areas are actively managed due to drinking water resources— Gradole has 9.8% and Ljubija 8.9% of protected area; 2) data regarding social features showed that human pressure has not negatively influenced the natural settings and water supply vulnerability—the area of the Ljubija spring catchment has lower population density compared to the area of the Gradole spring catchment (1.4 inhabitants/ km² compared to 38.7 inhabitants/km² ), but the Ljubija area has more pronounced growth in the number of households—I2020/1948 = 115 compared to I2020/1948 = 88.1 at the Gradole spring catchment; and 3) the limited regeneration abilities of the karst water bodies have been preserved by the prevailing share of forest—land use data showed 84.8% for Ljubija and 34.4% for Gradole. - Abstract
This paper analyses the behaviour of the populist parties in the Spanish Parliament. This involved examining the type of initiatives submitted and the voting patterns in the chamber, as well as the themes in the agendas of two parties, Unidas Podemos and Vox, in the 12th and 14th parliamentary terms. The literature suggests that populist parties engage in defiant and uncooperative behaviour in institutions and proposed differentiated and concentrated parliamentary agendas. However, I argue that this behaviour can be nuanced by contextual, ideological and strategic factors. The analysis suggests that the Spanish populist parties reproduce and amplify pre-existing ideological and territorial divisions in the legislative institution, instead of introducing new logics of conflict (e.g., populism/anti-populism). - Abstract
The aim of this paper is to contrast with quantitative statistical analyses whether the determinants of Spaniards' preferences over favoring wealth taxation behave similarly across different policy alternatives. To do so, and based on the literature review, we exploit the special questionnaire included in the 2019 wave of the Spanish Institute for Fiscal Studies Fiscal Barometer and carry out three empirical exercises, each devoted to one of the three corresponding policy alternatives under scrutiny. We also perform a robustness check contrasting whether those determinants are the same for a single policy that would comprise these three policies at once. According to the results achieved, corroborated by those obtained from the robustness check, the determinants of Spaniards' toward favoring wealth taxation rely on self-interest arguments and values and behave almost entirely in a similar fashion across different policy alternatives. Several policy recommendations arise. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

COST benefit analysis , *ENVIRONMENTAL economics , *EXTERNALITIES , *SUSTAINABLE design , *ECONOMIC geography - Abstract
Economic, financial, and spatial analytical models are known to be integral parts of large territorial works and plans. Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) and, newly, Territorial Impact Assessment (TIA) and Do Not Significant Harms principle (DNSH) are required to support the decision-making and evaluation process underlying climate change, initial strategic investment confirmation and final reporting. Looking at them from an economic-geographical perspective and drawing inspiration from ongoing experiences in Europe and Italy, methodological and operational guidelines are suggested in the paper to address this issue, so that both the environmental and social costs are reflected in the costs/prices/returns and in the mitigation of the public works impacts, creating a strong link between economy, territory, and environment, so that externalities can become internalities. The underlying thesis is that, knowing the territorial impacts generated by the TIA and the sustainable consistency of the project with the DNSH taxonomy, it is possible to adopt compensatory and mitigation actions, including in the related CBAs; and, at the same time, to minimise the costs resulting from the lack of policy coordination in territorial action between regional and local plans, both horizontal and vertical, when large infrastructure projects come from top-down decision as in the case of Recovery and Resilience Facility plan. SOCIAL movements , *POLITICAL participation , *SOCIAL action , *COLLECTIVE action , *IDENTITY politics - Abstract
This paper approaches identity politics from the genealogy and umbrella offered by the theory of New Social Movements. The aim is to unravel how New Social Movements that put postmaterialist issues such as identity and classic movements that fight for redistributive issues are related, and eventually articulated. This approach is carried out from a theoretical review, so the proposed perspective is developed in the epistemological field, from a qualitative and hermeneutical point of view. The text explores the links between these new forms of collective action and the claim to identity, updating the focus on a political expression that is fully in force and constantly rising. Afterwards, there is a review of the criticisms it has received, relating these to the historical and political context. With an analysis of the critical routes that have delved into the tension between the vindication of the particular and the universal, it seeks to formulate theses that serve to extrapolate and generalize from concrete situations to shared demands. Finally, some political and epistemological solutions are considered that make these struggles compatible with political actions of greater social scope and political impact. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ECONOMIC indicators , *FINANCIAL performance , *CAPITAL intensity , *CORPORATE finance , *CASH flow - Abstract
Standard financial theories assume that investment and financing decisions are intertwined. Investment decisions involve selecting assets that generate positive cash flows and maximize shareholder value, while financing decisions involve identifying the optimal mix of debt and equity financing to fund these investments. The main objective of this paper is to analyze the interdependence of assets and liabilities in a sample of Colombian manufacturing firms with varying degrees of roundaboutness (capital-intensive nature). This study employs canonical correlation analysis to determine the interaction between balance sheet components. Subsequently, a threshold regression model is employed to evaluate the influence of financial indicators on the financial performance of firms with heterogeneous capital intensity. The findings reveal that low-capital intensity firms match the maturity structure of assets and liabilities. In firms with low roundaboutness there is a significant relation between throughput, working capital turnover and the proportion of capital expenditure to operating cash flow with ROIC. However, this relationship becomes non-significant at high levels of indebtedness. Conversely, capital-intensive firms exhibit a mismatch between asset and liability maturities, relying on shareholders' funds to finance longterm assets and inventories. In this group of companies, throughput is positively associated with ROIC regardless of the level of debt, whereas the relationship between working capital turnover and ROIC is not significant until a certain debt threshold is exceeded. The impact of the capital expenditure to operating cash flow ratio on ROIC varies depending on debt levels. Companies with high roundaboutness that exceeds a debt threshold experience a negative impact. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CARDIOGENIC shock , *ARTIFICIAL blood circulation , *MECHANICAL hearts , *HEART transplantation , *PROGNOSIS , *DISEASE risk factors - Abstract
Advanced heart failure (HF) is characterized by refractory symptoms and frequent rehospitalizations despite the optimal medical therapy. The prevalence of end-stage HF is increasing due to the increasing number of patients with risk factors for cardiovascular diseases and the ageing of the population, and it is a great clinical challenge and burden for the healthcare system. The prognosis of the disease is poor, with a one-year mortality rate of 25% to 75%. Given that the optimal medical therapy is of limited effect, advanced therapeutic methods which include heart transplantation and the mechanical circulatory support are being considered in the treatment of such patients. Heart transplantation is the gold standard for the treatment of end-stage HF, but due to the limited number of donor organs and certain contraindications, some patients will not be treated with this method. Short-term devices for mechanical circulatory support can be used in the treatment of cardiogenic shock and acute deterioration as a bridge to decision, recovery, upgrade or heart transplantation. Long-term devices for left ventricular support are implanted as a bridge to heart transplantation or as destination therapy in patients who are permanently ineligible for heart transplantation. The main challenge in the adequate use of heart transplantation is the disproportion between the need and the number of donors, which requires optimal screening of candidates and better rationalisation of resources. Despite advances in the technology of the devices for mechanical circulatory support, their full potential is limited due to the still underdeveloped long-term right ventricular support, the underdeveloped complete intracorporeal system, the cost (availability) and possible adverse events after implantation such as driveline infections, systemic thrombosis or bleeding. Application of advanced methods of treating HF in carefully selected patients is essential for a successful outcome. Delayed referral of such patients to transplant centres further limits therapeutic options. This paper presents the challenges in the treatment of patients with end-stage HF with reference to the disease itself, pharmacotherapy and the use of advanced treatment methods. - Abstract
One of the most prevalent sects in the Islamic World is the Khalvetiyye sect. This sect emerged in the geography of Azerbaijan and spread all over the world. Sayyid Yahya Shirvanī is the person who made the sect spread in this way. Shirvanī contributed greatly to the spread of this sect with both his students and the books he wrote. However, the political developments in the region after Sayyid Yahya's death caused the books Khalveti tradition to be lost or taken to different countries. El-İkhtiyârâtuʼl-Kafiye treatise, which is the subject of our study, is one of the works that lived this fate. In the study, first of all, the author of the treatise was determined. Afterwards, it was determined that there are eight copies of the treatise in the libraries of Kuwait, Egypt and Turkey. Four of these copies, which are the oldest in terms of date, were determined and the study was verified on the basis of these copies. In the examination, the oldest known copy of the treatise, which was copied in 1021/1612, which is in the Kılıç Ali Pasha Collection, was taken as the basis. Since there have been many studies on the life, works and views of Sayyid Yahya Shirvani, the author of the treatise, this subject has not been dwelled upon much. The main purpose of the study is to raise the issue that there are many unearthed manuscripts belonging to both Sayyid Yahya Shirvanī and other Khalveti sheikhs who lived in Azerbaijan. Another aim of these is to learn Shirvani's style in the only Arab work identified as his own. One of the most important branches of the work carried out by both Sayyid Yahya Shirvanī and his caliphs was the works they wrote. There are many works that describe the principles of the Khalvetiyye sect in Arabic, Turkish and Persian, either by Sayyid Yahya or by other Azerbaijani Khalveti sheikhs. However, among these works, only those belonging to Sayyid Yahya Shirvanī were studied, and no detailed examination was made about other works. It is quite difficult to reveal anything new about the works of Sayyid Yahya Shirvani. Because until today, there have been a great number of scientific studies in the form of books, papers, articles and symposiums about the life, works and caliphs of the ʽPîr-i Sanîʼ of the Khalvetiyye sect. However, as far as we can see, the author's treatise named al-İkhtiyârât, which is the subject of our study, has escaped the attention of researchers. Therefore, it has been concluded that the analysis of the only Arabic epistle known to belong to the author is important. Thanks to this treatise, we will have the opportunity to learn the method that Sayyid Yahya Şirvânî used in writing Arabic works. Another significance of the treatise is that it strengthens the possibility that works still exist in the case of a new manuscript belonging to Sayyid Yahya. Sayyid Yahya Shirvanī does not use his own name in any of his works as a method. This tradition was continued by the Azerbaijani Khalveti sheikhs. However, this method, which stems from the sense of humility, caused the authors of many of the works belonging to these sheikhs to be confused in the later periods. The most striking example of this is the work of Beyânuʼl-Esrâr. This work has been attributed to seven different authors. There is no author's name in the copies of the al-Ikhtiyârât treatise, which is the subject of our study. The only exception is the Egyptian copy. In the introductory part of the copy, the scribe also included the names of the authors of the treatises in the journal he copied. In this study, an unknown Arabic treatise of Sayyid Yahya Shirvani, who operated in Azerbaijan and influenced almost the entire Islamic World through his works and successors, is the subject of the research. The pamphlet, which is divided into three chapters under the title of truth, together with the sharia with the sublimity of the enthusiasm, the secrets of the sect and the observance together with the gracefulness of the pleasures, has been analyzed and translated on the basis of different copies. The main purpose of the study is to reveal one of the many Arabic sources of Azerbaijani Sufism, and to reveal the possibility that there may still be different works belonging to Sayyid Yahya Shirvani. Another aim of ours is to learn the Arabic style that Seyyid Yahya Shirvanī uses in his works, albeit partially. We hope that archival research in different manuscript libraries around the world will reveal the works of both Sayyid Yahya Shirvanī and other Azerbaijani Sufis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Halo nevi (leukoderma acquisitum centrifugum, Sutton’s nevus, leukopigmentary nevus, perinevoid vitiligo or perinevoid leukoderma) are melanocytic nevi surrounded by a halo of hypopigmentation or depigmentation. They are significantly more common in children and young people, with a peak incidence at the age of 15, withoutgender or racial predilection. The usual clinical course of a halo nevus involves gradual involution and subsequent complete regression of a centrally placed nevus that leaves behind an area of depigmentation. Typical halo nevi do not require treatment. Exceptionally, halo nevi develop from dysplastic nevi and malignant neoplasms of the skin (halo phenomenon). The paper presents a 12-year-old boy with changes in nevi on his back. During the last summer, a pale band developed around two nevi. The nevi became lighter and shrank. One of them has completely disappeared. Apart from basal cell carcinoma in the father, the presence of other atypical nevi, melanoma, vitiligo and autoimmune diseases in the personal and family anamnesis was not established. A typical halo nevus is diagnosed by clinical and dermatological examination and regular dermatological monitoring is advised. Halo nevi mostly develop from an acquired melanocytic nevus, but can be seen in dysplastic nevi, basal cell carcinoma, and melanoma. A thorough medical history, careful clinical and dermatological examination make it possible to identify atypical halo nevi that require a biopsy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AUTISM spectrum disorders , *CHILD psychiatry , *PEDIATRIC neurology , *COMPLEX variables , *SYMPTOMS - Abstract
Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex and variable neurodevelopmental condition that affects how individuals perceive and interact with the world around them. Characterized by significant difficulties in social communication and the presence of restrictive and repetitive behaviors, ASD is a disorder that can influence all aspects of a person's life. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to identify the influence that risk factors can have on the pathogenesis of autism spectrum disorder, through the description of a clinical case. Material and methods: We present the clinical case of a 7-year-old patient admitted to the Pediatric Psychiatry Department at the Clinic of Pediatric Neurology and Psychiatry in Timișoara, exhibiting clinical symptoms indicative of autism spectrum disorder. Results: Given the increasing frequency of this condition and its multiple implications on familial, social, educational, and professional aspects, this article will report on a clinical case diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, highlighting the implications of risk factors. The patient underwent clinical and paraclinical investigations, psychiatric and psychological evaluations, and received specialized treatment, showing slow but favorable progress over time. Discussions: Understanding the risk factors associated with the pathogenesis of autism spectrum disorder is crucial for early diagnosis and intervention. Risk factors for ASD are diverse, encompassing both genetic and environmental components that impact the clinical presentation and long-term outcomes. Conclusions: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex and multifactorial condition that requires a comprehensive understanding of the numerous risk factors involved in its pathogenesis. From genetic and hereditary components to prenatal, perinatal, environmental, and biological influences, each of these factors plays a crucial role in determining an individual's susceptibility to ASD.
