This book focuses on scientific terminology and phraseology in research papers in the domains of new technologies which remain to be highly specialized means of communicating. The book offers a comprehensive overview of current research in Slavic linguistics from a theoretical and experimental perspective and from a variety of languages. The selected papers from the 11th European Conference on Formal Description of Slavic Languages (FDSL 11) that took place at the University of Potsdam in 2015, illustrate the advancement of Slavic linguistic studies and their outreach for the development of general linguistics. The guest paper by Noam Chomsky at the beginning of the book sets a clear sign in this direction and may be taken as an acknowledgement of the field.

Methods in Dialectology is a venerable institution, having started in 1972 in London, Western Ontario, Canada. This book is a collection of papers presented at Methods XVI in Tachikawa, Japan, in 2017. It was the first time Methods took place in Asia. In this volume, the emphasis is on diverse methods and diverse research questions. Many of the papers focus on language innovation, language change, corpus studies and linguistic atlas from different perspectives. At the same time, methodological innovation is very much in focus. Its emphasis meant that several papers showcased cutting-edge quantitative techniques that allow dialectologists to address questions that had been thought impossible to answer only a few years ago.

This book is a selection of papers presented at the 11th International Conference on Middle English (ICOME11), held at the University of Florence, Italy from 5 to 8 February 2019. The papers, organised under three headings “Textual Interlacing,” “Borrowing and the Lexicon,” and “Language at Different Levels,” interface different fields of linguistics, literature and philology in the context of Medieval England and offer a holistic view of current research within Middle English studies. The contributors employ a wealth of different new and traditional approaches and methodologies, and deal with materials ranging from canonical literary works to scientific and practical texts, including electronic corpora and databases.

The papers compiled in the present volume reflect the key theme of the most recent Duo Colloquium sessions – contextuality. The psychological notion of context has been central to translation research for decades, and it has evolved along with the development of translational thought, translation types and tools. The theme of contextuality can be understood at any level, from the geopolitical to the textual, and embraced by both academic and professional considerations of translational and interpreting phenomena. It is centred on context, contexts and/or decontextualisation in translation and interpreting theory and practice from a variety of disciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives. Discussing the above-mentioned notions is the subject of the present volume.

Die Erforschung von sprachlicher Variation und Vielfalt erfolgt unter Einbezug kontrastiver, kognitiver, didaktischer und translatorischer Ansätze mit besonderem Fokus auf Lexikologie, Semantik und Grammatik. This volume presents and discusses the prerequisites, mechanisms and results of linguistic variation and diversity. This begins with linguistic and cultural contacts and extends through historical and geographical conditions as well as communicative practices in the online and offline domain to social and socio-cultural developments, including language policy. Research into linguistic variation and diversity is carried out using contrastive, cognitive, didactic, and translational approaches with a particular focus on lexicology, semantics, and grammar.

Das Nordisch-Baltische Germanistentreffen (NBGT) ist die wichtigste Tagung zum fachlichen Austausch der in der Germanistik bzw. im Hochschulfach Deutsch Tätigen in Dänemark, Estland, Finnland, Island, Lettland, Litauen, Norwegen und Schweden. Die Publikation versammelt ausgewählte Beiträge des XI. NBGT 2018 in Kopenhagen aus den vier Bereichen DaF, Germanistikstudium und Deutsch im Bildungswesen – Translationswissenschaft – Sprachwissenschaft – Historische Sprachwissenschaft. Die Beiträge behandeln, teils in ihren regionalen Bezügen, aktuelle theoretisch- und angewandt-linguistische Fragestellungen. Dies geschieht stets in direktem Bezug zu international geführten Fachdiskussionen, weshalb der Band auch über die nordischen und baltischen Länder hinaus Bedeutung hat.

This volume collects selected papers written by young translation scholars who were CETRA 2014 participants. This book analyses the heterogeneity of translational norms, diversity of cultures and the challenges of intercultural transfer. The authors analyze a wide array of source texts, from the translations of contemporary prose and audiovisual products into Brazilian, Japanese and Swedish, to renderings of texts more distant in time, such as the Bible and «Golestân» written in medieval Persian. The book also concentrates on selected meta-level issues, such as the integrity of the discipline and its language, as well as the development of translation competence. The norm-focused and culture-related framework offers considerable research potential for Translation Studies.

The topic of the book is the relationship between mind and language on all levels of linguistic research. Over the past decade, the cognitive approach to language and its methodology have started to permeate other areas of linguistic study, which, in turn, is opening up room for new types of research and resulting in new knowledge that contributes to explaining not only the linguistic phenomena, but also how they function in a linguistic community and contemporary society. The book tries to reflect these new developments. It consists of 11 chapters organized into three thematic sections: language and mind from linguistic perspective, the language and mind of the translator, and language and mind from the teacher's perspective.

This volume is composed of papers presented at the 1st. International Conference on theAsturian Language, which took place on 27 – 28 April 2022 at the Universidad Autónomade Madrid. Said papers cover a wide range of disciplines related to the subject: education,historical linguistics, syntax, phonology, lexis, sociolinguistics, and literature, all focusedupon the three central themes around which the conference revolved: the distinctivenessof the Asturian language, its intimate relationship with the Asturian identity, andthe absolute necessity of insisting upon its status as an official Romance language so asto ensure its preservation and revitalization. On the occasion of the imminent publicdebate upon the question of its official status, this volume aims to serve as a tribute toall those who made it possible to reach this crucial stage. Hopefully it will also becomea contributing factor in conferring upon Asturian the prominence it deserves.

This volume is a collection of papers read at the International Medieval Congress at Leeds in 2017, in two sessions organized by the Institute of English Studies at the University of London and four sessions organized by the Society of Historical English Language and Linguistics. Contributions consist of poetry, prose, interlinear glosses, syntax, semantics, lexicology, and medievalism. The contributors employ a wealth of different approaches. The general theme of the IMC 2017 was ‘otherness', and some papers fit this theme very well. Even when two researchers deal with a similar topic and arrive at different conclusions, the editors do not try to harmonize them but present them as they are for further discussion.

This book aims at bridging language research and language teaching and contains four sections. It opens with two papers which relate language to literature: one exploring childlike language, the second investigating the distinction between literary and non-literary text categorization principles. Next are the papers on multicultural and sociolinguistic topics, including a paper on English as an international language, and two papers on the perception of bilingualism in education. The third thematic section explores semantics, with two papers on prefixes and one on metaphor. The contributors cover a wide range of topics in the area of language and literature. The linguistic papers constitute the majority of contributions and focus on problems from phonology to grammar, semantics and pragmatics. The literary contributions discuss various aspects of Middle English texts.

This collective volume deals with the language of adventure tourism from different approaches, such as linguistics, semantics, and pragmatics. The papers selected delve into different languages (Spanish, English, and Italian), either with a monolingual or a bilingual approach. This book contains an original collection of contributions that deal with the use of a methodology based on, driven, or assisted by corpora to analyse language from a gender perspective. Specialist software is also used to answer the research questions addressed in every chapter. The papers selected examine English or Spanish texts and focus on the employment of gender-related words in several types of discourse (e.g., adventure tourism promotion, the Humanities, literature, legal texts, or social media). The authors cover these topics from different approaches to identify new features on how language use portrays the female and the male genders. Overall, this volume shows the power of the so-called Corpus Linguistics to understand the connection between language and gender. Therefore, this is a sample of the intersection of these three elements, forming the pivot of the monograph and offering, at the same time, analysis techniques that can be replicated.

The aim of this book is to provide a comparative analysis of intra- and inter- linguistic features, setting a benchmark for future typological studies. It contrasts cognitive and functional aspects of causative, agent-deprofiling, and resultative constructions in two typologically distant languages: English and Urdu. The detailed nature of the contrastive analysis opens doors for future research on the complexities of each construction and, by extension, of both languages. The study is framed within the field of cognitively-oriented constructionist approaches to language, specifically within the Lexical Constructional Model (LCM), proposed by Ruiz de Mendoza and Mairal. With its cross-linguistic dimension, it develops central aspects of this model at the argument-structure level and provides evidence of the role of high-level metaphor and metonymy in the motivating grammatical phenomena.

Over the past 25 years, previously separate fields of linguistic research have moved closer together, resulting in constructive collaborations: Cognitive Sociolinguistics draws on the framework of Cognitive Linguistics to investigate social factors in linguistic variation. Linguistic Landscape studies merge Semiotics and Sociolinguistics. Critical Discourse Studies link ideological dimensions of language to general conceptual principles. Language pedagogy is constantly informed by developments in Applied Linguistics. Furthermore, there is lively communication with neighbouring disciplines such as Literary and Cultural Studies. The present volume reflects this fruitful fluidity. It is a tribute to the linguist Martin Pütz, whose work has always been guided by this interdisciplinary spirit.

This study focuses on the interplay of language, space and sociocultural context: Yaoundé's Linguistic Landscape is examined with respect to its multilingual and multimodal nature. Next to a sociolinguistic framework, a (socio)cognitive analysis is also put centre stage.

This book presents the first large-scale investigation of the structure and functions of linguistic impoliteness and impoliteness metalanguage in contemporary British children's fiction. The study ties together findings from pragmatics, language acquisition research, literary studies, and translation studies with novel data-driven insights. The study shows that children's fiction prefers direct, unmitigated impoliteness tokens to highlight key aspects of plot and characterisation. Impoliteness metalanguage is used to clarify impoliteness events to the child. The study provides a framework for the investigation of impoliteness in translation, which gives evidence of pragmatic differences, as well as differing views of children's cognitive abilities in two linguacultures.

This book contains a selection of papers on issues of current interest in syntax and morpho-syntax. Most topics pertain to the question of the relation between word order and syntactic structure. The discussion starts with a proposal of extending the theory of relativization to reason clauses. It continues with the analysis of the realization of focus in Basque and the discussion of current views on the syntax of cleft constructions. Next, an inquiry into the rigidity of sentence left-periphery is offered in a cross-linguistic perspective. The two final contributions discuss feature-free derivations in syntax applied to a single morpho-syntactic problem, and the question of gradient acceptability of Polish sentences featuring possessive items in the context of the competition between their reflexive and pronominal forms.

The present volume contains a selection of papers presented at the Fifth International Symposium Russian Grammar: System–Usus–Language Variation, from September 22 to 24, 2021, at the University of Potsdam (Germany). The selected essays tackle the issues that arise when Russian Grammar meets new linguistic paradigms (such as corpus linguistics) and new challenges (such as heritage languages). The relevant findings are discussed with a particular focus on an updated version of the 1980 Academy grammar of Russian.

This book offers a range of empirically-based case studies in the field of cultural linguistics and neighbouring disciplines such as intercultural pragmatics and language pedagogy. The first section explores intercultural communication and cross-linguistic/cross-cultural investigations in settings such as Brazil, Nigeria, Cameroon, Tanzania, Morocco, France and Canada. The second section focuses on applications of cultural linguistics in the field of foreign language teaching. This volume contributes to the fields of World Englishes, English Language Teaching and Second Language Acquisition, assessing the English(es) spoken in post-Independence Namibia beyond variety status. Based on questionnaires and corpus analysis, the author analyzes morphosyntactical structures, language use and attitudes towards English(es) in comparison to home languages. She gives new insights into the structure of spoken language and potential varieties of English in particular. Focus is put on a geographical area that only recently attracted increasing attention in the field of World Englishes. The author's work can be regarded as an attempt to bridge several aspects of the frequently discussed «paradigm gap» between World Englishes and Second Language Acquisition studies.

For decades, the focus of Metaphor Studies laid on Conceptual Metaphor and its role in the human conceptual system. This study, however, focuses on metaphor in communication. Its aim is to shed light on how commenters in online debates discuss EU-related topics via Scenario Negotiation, expressing and negotiating their points of view via Metaphorical Scenarios. The study offers a review of current metaphor theory and practical approaches and proposes an Integrated Model of Scenario Negotiation. The results are based on context-sensitive, qualitative analysis of data which stem from a corpus of online debates from the Guardian's Comment is free section. The discussion illustrates the genre-specific conceptual-communicative functions of Scenario Negotiation in naturally occurring discourse.

Fremdsein und Integration, Sprachverlust und Bereicherung – Mehrsprachigkeit hat viele Facetten. Im Mittelpunkt des Bandes steht die Auseinandersetzung mit mehrsprachigen Repertoires von Migrant_innen polnischer Herkunft in Deutschland und Schweden. Anhand von Einzelfallanalysen untersucht die Autorin kontrastierend den Umgang mit Mehrsprachigkeit in den zwei Einwanderungsländern. Darüber hinaus zeigt sie unterschiedliche Modi multilingualer Repertoires auf. Am Ende des Buches liefert eine gegenstandsbegründete Theorie interessante Aspekte zur Mehrsprachigkeit in Bezug auf Subjektivität, Identität und Zielland.

The papers collected in this book present diverse views and experiences on teaching English and French for specific and academic purposes. The scope of reflection covers a wide spectrum of cognitive areas of ESP and FOS, encompassing a multitude of training aspects and components (curricula, methods and techniques, materials and teaching aids) from the perspective of both LSP teachers and learners. A great range of topics related to work-specific language instruction addressed in the book displays the interdisciplinary nature of the research area, integrating aspects of linguistics, sociolinguistics, didactics and pedagogy. Les textes réunis dans le présent volume exposent les idées et expériences relatives à l'enseignement de l'anglais et du français sur objectifs spécifiques et universitaires. This book is about foreign language learning in non-formal Online Tandems. The collected papers by contributors who have expertise in the field of Language Pedagogy and Foreign Language Acquisition gather information on online interactions, such as the initiation of tandems, the mentoring of online activities and learners'interaction, as well as the assessment of the processes at hand. The handbook targets stakeholders, institutions of higher education, language teachers and tandem trainers at educational institutions that want to set up Online Tandems especially designed for third language learners. The book is the result of the three-year project L3TASK carried out at five universities in Austria (Wien), Germany (Jena) and Spain (Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid) and associated partner institutions in China. It was funded by the European Commission in the frame of the Life Long Learning Programme.

The volume brings together papers emerging from the GlobE conference (University of Warsaw). The authors explore major topics in Discourse Studies, offering insights into the field's theoretical foundations and discussing the results of its empirical applications. The book integrates different lines of research in Discourse Studies as undertaken at academic centres Europe-wide and beyond. In this diversity, the editors identify certain dominant lines of study, including (new) media discourse, political discourse in the age of social/digital media, or professional discourse in globalized workplace contexts. The papers collected in this volume examine selected aspects of the interaction of phonology with phonetics, morphosyntax and the lexicon in a variety of languages including Korean, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, British English, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Dutch and Hawaiian. In order to approach the role and ways of expressing extraphonological information in phonology, the international contributors adopt different methods of analysis (data gathering, experiments, theoretical discussions), couched in various theoretical frameworks (such as Optimality Theory and Government Phonology), which reveal both the multifarious faces and interfaces of modern phonological research.

Im Blickpunkt dieses Werkes stehen Rolle und Bedeutung der deutschen Sprache für die Gruppenidentität deutschsprachiger Expatriates in einem südostasiatischen Kontext. Ziel der Untersuchung ist es, Ergebnisse für die internationale Stellung der deutschen Sprache abzuleiten. Die Arbeit ist im Bereich der Makrosoziolinguistik angesiedelt und berücksichtigt psychologische, soziopsychologische und sprachwissenschaftliche Ansätze. Die Resultate zeigen auf, dass die deutsche Sprache durch deutsche Expatriates und ihre Vereine gefördert werden könnte. Darüber hinaus könnte durch ihre Wirkung ein positives Deutschlandbild und auch ein profundes Verständnis für den interkulturellen Dialog entwickelt werden. Dies kann als Grundlage für die weitere Analyse dieses Themas gelten.

Foundational theories of meaning, and the broader metasemantic projects they contribute to, promise to answer the seemingly simple yet intractable question of what meaning consists in and where it comes from. Naturally, they build upon expressions that we already know and recognize to develop their positions. This focus on language as we know it, however, leaves aside the no less significant matter of language in terms of possible expressions – the strange and distant expanses of language beyond our everyday stock of expressions.This work sets out to explore possibilities in the context of the meaning of simple expressions. In the process, words, phrases, and sentences are thoroughly explicated as types of expressions before being leveraged to engineer unique and unusual possible words. These exotic possibilities are then confronted with two major positions on meaning in philosophy, introducing novel difficulties and suggesting the significance of this otherwise neglected perspective on language.

This Dictionary is the first etymological dictionary of English imitative (onomato-poeic, mimetic) words. Imitative words (e.g. crash, bang, achoo) are words with iconic correlation between form and meaning, iconicity being a relationship of resemblance. The dictionary provides extensive information on English words of imitative origin and uncovers patterns in their diachronic development. Each entry of the altogether 1320 dictionary entries includes data on pronunciation, part of speech, source of sound, type of imitated sound, iconic word class, date of first attestation, frequency of use, origin, etymology, degree of form-meaning correspondence (stage of de-iconization), as well as a brief account of form and meaning changes. The entries also illustrate the modern usage by typical examples of the word in a sentence (the data were extracted from contemporary dictionaries and corpora of the English language) and references to relevant etymological dictionaries which confirm their imitative status.

Este volumen recoge estudios que analizan la incorporación al idioma español del léxico de la ciencia, de la técnica y de las profesiones a través del diccionario de la Real Academia Española en el periodo 1884-1936. Para ello, se consideran contextos como el histórico, el científico-técnico y el lexicográfico, que facilitaron la adopción y la creación de un vocabulario que, en muchos casos, se generalizó en el seno de la sociedad. También se aborda el tratamiento lexicográfico que recibieron esas palabras, así como su evolución, relacionada tanto con la evolución de las diversas disciplinas (química, geología, electricidad, deportes, construcción, etc.) como con el propio quehacer del diccionario académico. Esta publicación viene a rellenar un hueco imprescindible en el conocimiento del léxico especializado del español y su relación con la lexicografía académica especialmente, en un periodo de importantes movimientos intelectuales y científicos.

Ziel der Arbeit ist, sich unter Einbezug des Einflusses unterschiedlicher, diachronisch geprägter übersetzungstheo-retischer Prinzipien mit der Frage der Übersetzbarkeit von Somatismen auseinanderzusetzen, was aufgrund ihrer inhärenten Mehrdimensionalität als komplex einzustufen ist: Ihnen ist nicht nur eine denotative Bedeutung zu eigen, sie verfügen zudem über Merkmale, die sich auf ihre formal-ästhetische Struktur und ihre Funktionalität (im Text) beziehen und im Idealfall auch zielsprachlich reflektiert werden. Als Untersuchungskorpus dienen aus Cervantes‘ Don Quijote (1605/1615) extrahierte Somatismen und deren in drei deutschen Quijote-Übersetzungen vorzufindende Entsprechungen, die vor diachronischem Hintergrund hinsichtlich ihrer Übersetzungsäquivalenz denotativ, formal und funktional betrachtet werden.

Modalpartikeln gelten als eine Besonderheit der deutschen Sprache. Wie kann ihre Funktion und Bedeutung in einer „partikelarmen'Sprache wie dem Italienischen vermittelt werden? Und stimmt es überhaupt, dass das Italienische kaum Partikeln hat? Über welche sprachlichen Mittel (lexikalischer oder komplexer Art), die als funktionale Äquivalente der deutschen Modalpartikeln angesehen werden können, verfügt das Italienische? Das vorliegende Buch geht diesen Fragen nach und untersucht auf der Grundlage eines Korpus schriftlicher Daten die Funktion der fragesatztypischen Modalpartikeln denn, eigentlich, etwa, wohl, überhaupt, bloß, doch und schon. Diese werden nach dem Modell von Blühdorn (2019) nach ihrer Bedeutung in zwei Gruppen unterteilt, die als ‚Modalpartikeln der Antwortfindung‘ und ‚Modalpartikeln der Inkohärenz‘ bezeichnet werden. Im Anschluss wird untersucht, wie die Funktion und Bedeutung der untersuchten Modalpartikeln im Italienischen wiedergegeben werden kann.

¿Qué ocurre con la traducción de poesía cuando los medios impresos dejan de ser su superficie de publicación principal, para ceder este rol a los medios digitales? ¿En qué formas concretas acontece este cambio enel entramado literario hispanoamericano y sus particulares condiciones de producción, recepción y circulación? Con base en un aparato crítico que opera desde los Estudios de Traducción y el análisis sociológico de la Teoría del Actor-Red, esta investigación recurre a la Literatura, los Estudios Poscoloniales y Culturales, para ofrecer un diagnóstico de cómo se establecen las redes material-semióticas que dan lugar a este ejercicio literario en nuestros días. Para ello se sigue a traductores y a traductoras y se analizan ámbitos contrastantes, como la traducción de poesía desde el inglés, la autotraducción de poemas desde las lenguas originarias en México, o bien la pseudotraducción y la literatura electrónica. Resultado es un ensayo que aspira, también en sus aspectos formales, a dejarse traducir por la heterogeneidad y contingencia de una práctica en viva transformación.

Der zweite Band des Sammelwerks zum 100-jährigen Jubiläum der Niederdeutschen Philologie in Rostock nimmt aktuelle Forschungsfelder dieser Disziplin in den Blick. Neben Beiträgen zu neuen Forschungsperspektiven auf das Mittelniederdeutsche wird ein räumlicher Fokus auf das Neuniederdeutsche in verschiedenen regionalen und globalen Kontexten gelegt. Weitere Texte diskutieren aktuelle variations- und perzeptionslinguistische Fragestellungen der Niederdeutschen Philologie und erörtern offene Problemfelder in der Geschichte der niederdeutschen Sprache und Literatur. Mit mehreren Beiträgen beteiligt sich der Jubiläumsband auch an den gegenwärtig intensiv geführten Debatten um die niederdeutsche Sprach- und Literaturdidaktik.

Das Luxemburgische ist stark durch Variation auf allen sprachlichen Ebenen geprägt. Die vorliegende Studie beschäftigt sich mit ausgewählten Variationsphänomenen, die sich zwischen Morphologie und Phonologie bewegen. Im Fokus der variations- und perzeptionslinguistischen Studie steht zum einen die Analyse morpho(phono)logischer Phänomene mithilfe eines umfangreichen Sprachdatenkorpus mit Fokus auf der inter- und intraindividuellen Variationsdimension. Zum anderen eruiert sie anhand eines maßgeschneiderten Testverfahrens, wie diese Variationsphänomene wahrgenommen und bewertet werden. Die Arbeit legt anschaulich dar, dass neben linguistischen Steuerungsfaktoren auch Wahlfreiheit bei der Variantenwahl von Bedeutung ist und Variation oft als Teil der (individuellen) Norm wahrgenommen wird.

La sintaxis de los determinantes específicos y definidos es una monografía que estudia el resultado de la combinación de los dos rasgos de la identificación de referentes en español y en otras familias lingüísticas. Los lectores encontrarán una exposición de las definiciones teóricas de los fenómenos gramaticales; una exposición de los datos; un repaso por la historia de la hipótesis del SD; la explicación de la hipótesis del autor; la aplicación de la hipótesis a diferentes problemas sintácticos, como la variación, la IA o el paralelismo con las categorías oracionales.

Die Metonymie im Deutschen ist bislang sowohl auf theoretischer wie auch auf empirischer Ebene vernachlässigt worden. Bei dieser Forschungslücke setzt das Buch an und befasst sich mit dem deutschsprachigen Migrationsdiskurs. Die Arbeit ist interdisziplinär ausgerichtet und verbindet kognitionstheoretische Ansätze mit einer qualitativen und quantitativen Korpusanalyse von knapp 300 Artikeln aus Bild.de und Spiegel Online. Metonymien sind im Migrationsdiskurs allgegenwärtig, operieren oftmals unbemerkt in ihrer Interaktion mit diskriminierenden metaphorischen Mappings und erscheinen somit im Rahmen von Persuasionsstrategien als besonders effizient. Die Arbeit verfolgt zwei Ziele. Zum einen sollen die sprachspezifischen Realisierungsarten der Metonymie im Deutschen dargelegt werden, dies mit Schwerpunkt auf Konversionsvorgängen und Komposita. Zum anderen soll untersucht werden, wie metonymische Phänomene wesentlich dazu beitragen, stereotype und antimigrantische Vorstellungen zu vermitteln.

The main purpose of the publication is to present a linguo-cultural picture of traditional values (such as the value of life, freedom, dignity, family, religion, community, truth, good, beauty, and God) reflected in Anglo-American and Polish paremiological units. The author analyses the proverbs featuring direct nominal exponents of traditional values with the use of semantic approach and divides them into several thematic categories and subcategories related to the sphere of values. Paremiological analysis carried out from a contrastive perspective provides additional evidence to support the claim that, despite some widespread axiological views common to languages, there exist distinct differences characteristic only of a given linguo-culture, naturally caused by different, among others, geographical, historical, social, and cultural environments.

Les « équivalents » qui semblent renvoyer à de parfaites correspondances cachent parfois de profondes asymétries relevant des références culturelles, propres à chaque contexte juridico-social. Ces études revisitent la dimension sémantique à travers l'étude de la terminologie spécialisée de plusieurs corpus de droit, appliqués dans des systèmes juridiques et judiciaires très variés.
