This book is a collection of full papers based on the peer-reviewed submissions accepted for the ERIDOB 2020 conference (which was cancelled due to COVID-19). ERIDOB brings together researchers in Biology Education from around the world to share and discuss their research work and results. It is the only major international conference on biology education research, and all the papers therefore are written by international researchers from across Europe (and beyond), which present the findings from a range of contemporary biology education research projects. They are all entirely new papers describing new research in the field. The papers are peer-reviewed by experienced international researchers selected by the ERIDOB Academic Committee. It is important then that the reader, with only this volume on which to judge both the BACOMET activities and its major outcome to date, should know some­ thing of what preceded this book's publication. For it is the story of how a group of educators, mainly tutors of student-teachers of mathematics, com­ mitted themselves to a continuing period of work and self-education. The concept of BACOMET developed during a series of meetings held in 1978-79 between the three editors, Bent Christiansen, Geoffrey Howson and Michael Otte, at which we expressed our concern about the contributions from mathematics education as a discipline to teacher education, both as we observed it and as we participated in it. The short time which was at the teacher-educator's disposal, allied to the limited knowledge and experience of the students on which one had to build, raised puzzling problems concerning priorities and emphases. The recognition that these problems were shared by educators from many different countries was matched by the fact that it would be fruitless to attempt to search for an internationally (or even nationally) acceptable solution to our problems. Different contexts and traditions rule this out.

Recent developments in information and communication technology (ICT) have paved the way for a world of advanced communication, intelligent information processing and ubiquitous access to information and services. The ability to work, communicate, interact, conduct business, and enjoy digital entertainment virtually anywhere is r- idly becoming commonplace due to a multitude of small devices, ranging from mobile phones and PDAs to RFID tags and wearable computers. The increasing number of connected devices and the proliferation of networks provide no indication of a sl- down in this tendency. The aforementioned issues raise an important question: Is our society ready to adopt the technological advances in ubiq- tous networking, next-generation Internet, and pervasive computing? To what extent will it manage to evolve promptly and efficiently to a next-generation society, ado- ing the forthcoming ICT challenges? The Third International ICST Conference on e-Democracy held in Athens, Greece during September 23–25, 2009 focused on the above issues. This book constitutes the proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Informatics in Schools: Situation, Evolution and Perspectives, ISSEP 2021, held in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, in November 2020. Due to COVID-19 related travelling restrictions the conference had to be switched to online format. The 12 full papers presented together with 4 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 57 submissions. They are organized in 2 topical sections named: state of research and best practice, country, and experience reports.As in our school education subjects like “digital literacy'or'media literacy'are making their way in, complementing or partially replacing computer science education. The current ISSEP conference reacted to this trend and therefore invited computer scientists, media didactics, and representatives of politics, media and industry to a discussion round on the topic'Media Education or Computer Science? Quo Vadis, School Teaching?'.

The chapters in this book build upon selected research papers from the 12th International Networked Learning Conference 2020, hosted by University of Southern Denmark, Kolding. The selected chapters were chosen as cutting-edge research on networked learning which reflected focal discussion points during the conference such as: new demands on teachers in online and hybrid learning environments; organization of professional learning to meet and reflect on these demands; support of educators and students'digital literacy; the interaction of human and technological agents in networked learning; and the development of new of networked learning designs to critically and creatively make use of technological possibilities. The book is organized into three main sections: 1) Professional learning, 2) Learning networks'development and use of digital resources, and 3) Innovating Networked Learning. Preceding the three main sections is a first chapter, which presents a discourseanalysis of how the term “networked learning” has been used in the papers at previous Networked Learning Conferences. The concluding chapter draws out perspectives from the chapters and point to emerging issues within the field of networked learning.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Blended Learning, ICBL 2021, held online in August 2021. The 30 papers, including 4 keynote papers, were carefully reviewed and selected from 79 submissions. The conference theme of ICBL 2021 is Blended Learning: Re-thinking and Re-defining the Learning Process. The papers are organized in topical sections named: content and instructional design; enriched and smart learning experience; experience in blended learning; institutional policies and strategies; and online and collaborative learning.

This volume includes contributions based on selected full papers presented at the 11th Pan-Hellenic and International Conference “ICT in Education”, held in Greece in 2018. The volume includes papers covering technical, pedagogical, organizational, instructional, as well as policy aspects of ICT in Education and e-Learning. Special emphasis is given to applied research relevant to the educational practice guided by the educational realities in schools, colleges, universities and informal learning organizations. There are approximately 300 institutions of higher education that currently have some form of Inclusive Access orOpen Educational Resources E-text (IAE) program in the United States, but there is little scholarship that engages on the topic of assessing these programs'effect on student success. The results of the research studies included in this volume will inform faculty, administrators, and policy-makers who seek to support the development, adoption, and implementation of IAE programs based on their potential positive effects on student success and other outcomes.
