- Abstract
The school of today should not only focus on unilateral training of their students, but their omnilateral training. The figure of the teacher as a great promoter dialectical pedagogy in the classroom, aimed at critical civic education of their students. Thus, this paper aims to reflect how the use of a work of fiction today may be worked in Sociology classes of high school, contemplating the various dimensions in the Hunger Games trilogy. Students can learn and reflect on the questions posed in the book, linking them to their reality and the reality of the society in which they live. Screenings of films recorded relating to the first two books and the third book will be counted students in oral form will be made, since the last book is still in the film adaptation. The analyzes made throughout the paper will be the light of the concepts and theoretical assumptions of João Luiz Gasparin, Esther Buffa, Mikhail Bakhtin, among other authors. It is intended that at the end of classes, students have developed a critical awareness of the contents worked and how they perceive the same discipline can offer them knowledge of various areas of knowledge, not being restricted only to their specific content.
