Huanma paper-cut is the representation of the first batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage masterpieces of Sichuan province. In recent years, Huanma Town in Cangxi County of Sichuan Province has continuously explored and trans⁃ formed traditional techniques into a cultural industry, seeking a market for the development of Huanma paper-cutting industry and realizing the transformation of the industrial structure of“prospering the town with culture and promoting literature with classics”. At present, Huanma’s paper-cutting inheritance work faces problems such as insufficient follow-up, fewer papercut inheritance craftsmen, lack of in-depth theoretical research and deviations in development positioning. In the period of rural revitalization, the protection project of Huanma paper-cut should start from improving the“intangible cultural heritage”man⁃ agement mechanism, cultivating and protecting the inheritors of paper-cutting skills, increasing the promotion of intangible cul⁃ tural heritage, creating a market brand of paper-cutting culture, and strengthening the construction of paper-cutting schoolbased courses, etc. Aspects of systematic construction, so as to promote its sound development. Small-scale landslides that occur at unexpected locations and seasons can cause severe losses of life and property. Unusually, the Shidang landslide occurred prior to the rainy season in Jinkouhe County, Sichuan Province, China, resulting in 19 deaths and missing persons. In this paper, landslide characteristics and causes are revealed through a field investigation, laboratory experiments, and numerical calculations. The results show that the Shidang landslide was a small-scale landslide with a total volume of approximately 19500 m3, originating from hollow colluvial deposits. The geomorphological hollow above the landslide provided topographic conditions for the collection of subsurface runoff. Groundwater flow was transported downward along dolomite and accumulated in the area above shale, with a low conductivity. Groundwater table rise combined with the decrease in the soil strength led to landslide occurrence. Improper siting of residential areas and insufficient vigilance against post-rainfall landslides caused this tragedy. Considering the post-disaster lessons, it is strongly recommended that in the future, more attention should be given to the investigation of landslides triggered by groundwater, especially in determining landslide hydrological system boundaries. In mountainous areas where the developable space is limited, areas with hollow landforms are potentially at risk of geohazards. The rise of transnational and transcity education consumption suggests the increasingly important role of the capability to move in order to access quality schooling. Studies have examined the multidimensional inequalities underlying translocal education consumption. However, the role of mobility itself is not sufficiently understood. Two questions are rarely asked: (1) How is the capability to move acquired and practised to bring about translocal schooling consumption? and (2) How does the disparity in the capability to move restructure the established intergenerational capital transmission mechanism conceptualized by Bourdieu? This paper answers by theorizing a mobility-mediated, education-based intergenerational capital transmission mechanism. This framework is built upon a theoretical engagement among John Urry, Pierre Bourdieu, and Neil Smith. We substantiate this framework by examining a student migration regime in Sichuan, China. Attention is paid to the inclusion/exclusion of hypermobility-based schooling consumption regime. Empirical analysis is performed by the comparison of two social groups: (a) the middle-class households who employ mobility to chase after the footloose prime schooling resources and thus materialize their class reproduction strategy and (b) the immobile remainder who are stuck in a location deprived of quality schooling resources. Landslides constitute a significant hazard to human life, safety and natural resources. Traditional landslide investigation methods demand considerable human effort and expertise. To address this issue, this study introduces an innovative landslide segmentation framework, EMR-HRNet, aimed at enhancing accuracy. Initially, a novel data augmentation technique, CenterRep, is proposed, not only augmenting the training dataset but also enabling the model to more effectively capture the intricate features of landslides. Furthermore, this paper integrates a RefConv and Multi-Dconv Head Transposed Attention (RMA) feature pyramid structure into the HRNet model, augmenting the model's capacity for semantic recognition and expression at various levels. Last, the incorporation of the Dilated Efficient Multi-Scale Attention (DEMA) block substantially widens the model's receptive field, bolstering its capability to discern local features. Rigorous evaluations on the Bijie dataset and the Sichuan and surrounding area dataset demonstrate that EMR-HRNet outperforms other advanced semantic segmentation models, achieving mIoU scores of 81.70% and 71.68%, respectively. Additionally, ablation studies conducted across the comprehensive dataset further corroborate the enhancements' efficacy. The results indicate that EMR-HRNet excels in processing satellite and UAV remote sensing imagery, showcasing its significant potential in multi-source optical remote sensing for landslide segmentation. In the early twentieth century, traditional handicraft was challenged by the latest technology in China. It is reflected by ethnic costumes combining new and old, as in the waistcoat of this study. This waistcoat made at Gyalrong Tibetan area in Sichuan, China, displays unique local features in terms of its brilliant colors and comprehensive craftsmanship. This study employs techniques such as optical microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope and high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry to investigate various aspects of this waistcoat, including its fabrics and dyes. The results showed that the waistcoat was primarily made of cotton and silk, with a bamboo paper layer, and that silk as well as twisted gold and silver threads were employed for the embroidery. Various embroidery techniques were applied, with patterns, color combinations, and characteristics being consistent with those of Tibetan and Shu (蜀) embroidery. In terms of dyeing technology, a wide range of colors were achieved through multi-step dyeing processes using natural dye stuffs like pagoda bud, and synthetic dyes like magenta. Five new species of the genus Bifurcia are described: B. kangding sp. nov. (♂♀), B. labahe sp. nov. (♂), B. luding sp. nov. (♂♀), B. shuangqiao sp. nov. (♂♀), and B. xiaojin sp. nov. More than 50 earthquakes occurred in the Luding region, including a 6.8‐magnitude earthquake on September 5, 2022, which induced huge amounts of geological disasters. As the main triggered factors for the geological disasters, the vegetation, precipitation and temperature show regular changes on the time axis. Thus, this paper based on the spatial–temporal evolution of the precipitation, temperature and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), focuses on the susceptibility of the Luding area using the weighted information content method (ICM) and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) for the post‐earthquake regional planning and reconstruction. In the Luding area, it was found that there were 18 debris flow gullies, and 470 geological disasters scattered in the debris flow gullies. The NDVI of the study area has been declining in recent years, with only about 12% of the NDVI increasing from 2015 to 2020. From 2011 to 2015, the annual cumulative precipitation has been dropping overall, while the July average temperature has increasing quadratic functions after decreasing trend. Furthermore, the studied area's geological hazards susceptibility was classified into five categories, with extremely low susceptibility accounting for 5.82%, low susceptibility accounting for 13.61%, moderate susceptibility accounting for 38.54%, high susceptibility accounting for 39.96% and extremely high susceptibility accounting for 2.08%. The geological disasters in moderate, high and extremely high susceptibility accounted for approximately 95.08%, and the covered area of geological disasters in moderate, high and extremely high susceptibility accounted for 88.06%. Through the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of the model verification found the AUC = 0.743. A new Chengyuchelys latimarginalis (Xinjiangchelyidae) specimen is reported based on a well-preserved, nearly complete shell from the upper part of the Upper Jurassic Shangshaximiao Formation of Qijiang District, Chongqing Municipality, China. The Xinjiangchelyidae were widely distributed in Asia during the Jurassic and were the dominant turtle group in Asian freshwater ecosystems during the Late Jurassic. The Qijiang specimen adds a new element to the yet poorly known freshwater vertebrate fauna and extends the geographical distribution of C. latimarginalis. This paper discusses the intraspecific variation in C. latimarginalis for the first time. It provides a new insight for studying the evolution, habitat, and diversity of xinjiangchelyids. In this paper, taking the Wufeng Formation-Longmaxi Formation shales in the southeastern region of the Sichuan Basin as an example, the thin section, X-ray, geochemical testing and TIMA techniques are used to systematically study the source analysis and characterization of quartz fractions, and in turn, the mechanism of the development of highly brittle shale reservoirs is revealed. The results of the study show that the high quartz mineral content segments are well stacked with the organic matter enriched segments. Excess silica occurs in the lower part of the Wufeng -Longmaxi Formation, and some samples in the middle and upper part of the Wufeng and Longmaxi Formation have excess silica deficit; the K2O/Na2O ratio is generally >1, reflecting that the reservoir quality is affected by the biogenic silica. Land- sourced detrital quartz grains, on the other hand, are significantly larger and are generally distributed over a range of tens to more than a hundred micrometers, often with clay minerals and organic matter around the periphery. Biogenic siliceous fossils are mainly developed in the lower part of the Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation, dominated by biogenic siliceous remains such as radiolarians. TIMA test results show that quartz belongs to the mineral type with absolutely dominant content ratio in the bottom samples of the Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation and reflects the characteristics of fine-grained-muddy/ carbonaceous horizontal laminar deposition. There are three different types of quartz grain distribution patterns in shale reservoirs, including excess silica type, multi-source silica type, and land-source silica type. The layers of highly brittle shale reservoirs are all at the bottom of Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation, which is rich in biogenic silica, and at the same time, they are also in the active layers of montmorillonite and other abundant volcanic activities, and they are developed in the closed basins as well as the deep-water land scaffolds, so that the reservoirs have a good self-sealing; at the same time, the combination of microcrystalline quartz+organic matter makes the reservoirs have an excellent mechanical brittleness. This paper discussed the impact of economic development on carbon emissions in Sichuan Province from 1990 to 2020 and put forward some suggestions to accelerate the development of a low-carbon economy. Firstly, the land use type was reclassified, then the IPCC coefficient method was used to calculate the land use carbon emissions, and then the driving factors affecting the carbon emissions were obtained by the log-average factor index (LMDI) method. Finally, the decoupling elasticity index and its influencing factors were obtained using Tapio decoupling model. The results showed that: (1) Carbon emissions in Sichuan Province increased significantly, with a growth rate of 218.7% from 1990 to 2020. Per capita GDP, land use structure and land use intensity per unit GDP were the main reasons for carbon emissions change. (2) Sichuan Province achieved strong decoupling during 1995-2000 and 2015-2020. However, it was in a state of expanding connection during 2000-2005, and the economic pressure on the environment reached the maximum. (3) Per capita GDP was the main factor promoting the elastic growth of decoupling index, while land use intensity per unit GDP is the main reason inhibiting the elastic growth of decoupling index. Old landslides in the Loess Plateau, Northwest China usually occurred over a relatively long period, and their sizes are usually smaller compared to old landslides in the alpine valley areas of Sichuan, Yunnan, and Southeast Tibet. These landslide areas may have been changed either partially or greatly, and they are usually covered with vegetation and similar to their surrounding environment. Therefore, it is a great challenge to detect them using high-resolution remote sensing images with only orthophoto view. This paper proposes the optimal-view and multi-view strategic hybrid deep learning (OMV-HDL) method for old loess landslide detection. First, the optimal-view dataset in the Yan'an area (YA-OP) was established to solve the problem of insufficient optical features in orthophoto images. Second, in order to make the process of interpretation more labor-saving, the optimal-view and multi-view (OMV) strategy was proposed. Third, hybrid deep learning with weighted boxes fusion (HDL-WBF) was proposed to detect old loess landslides effectively. The experimental results with the constructed optimal-view dataset and multi-view data show that the proposed method has excellent performance among the compared methods—the F1 score and AP (mean) of the proposed method were improved by about 30% compared with the single detection model using traditional orthophoto-view data—and that it has good detection performance on multi-view data with the recall of 81.4%. Seismic risk estimation for urban building clusters is essential when developing regional seismic resilience models. A masonry structure is a type of building with a large stock, broad applicability, and simplified construction technology. The traditional seismic intensity measures and fuzzy quantification of structural vulnerability levels result in low accuracy in estimating and predicting seismic damage to masonry structure clusters. This paper proposes a method for evaluating bivariate seismic intensity measure. Nonlinear dynamic and spectral analyses were conducted on real acceleration records monitored by ten stations during the Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan, China, on May 12, 2008. The outdated seismic vulnerability level of masonry structures is updated, and an optimized structural seismic risk model based on the seismic damage database of 2407 masonry structures in Dujiangyan city under the influence of the Wenchuan earthquake is established. An innovative seismic risk membership index algorithm was developed, and a vulnerability curve was generated for masonry structures considering multiple risk membership indices. An improved seismic risk index calculation function is proposed using the proposed updated vulnerability level, and the seismic risk index curve and stripe model of typical urban masonry building clusters are established. According to the field investigation of the actual structures in Dujiangyan city affected by the Wenchuan earthquake, the typical failure features and disaster mechanism of masonry structures are reported and analysed, and measures and methods to improve and enhance the seismic capacity of such buildings are proposed. The developed seismic risk model for urban masonry structures can contribute positively to the development of relatively accurate seismic resilience models for urban buildings and can improve the accuracy of seismic risk estimation for masonry structures. This study focuses on constructions that are vulnerable to fire hazards during wildfire events, and these constructions are known as 'exposures', which are an increasingly significant area of disaster research. A key challenge lies in estimating dynamically and comprehensively the risk that individuals are exposed to during wildfire spread. Here, 'exposure risk' denotes the potential threat to exposed constructions from fires within a future timeframe. This paper introduces a novel method that integrates a spatiotemporal knowledge graph with wildfire spread data and an exposure risk analysis model to address this issue. This approach enables the semantic integration of varied and heterogeneous spatiotemporal data, capturing the dynamic nature of wildfire propagation for precise risk analysis. Empirical tests are employed for the study area of Xichang, Sichuan Province, using real-world data to validate the method's efficacy in merging multiple data sources and enhancing the accuracy of exposure risk analysis. The paper used the location entropy index, spatial gini coefficient and barycenter model to analyze the temporal and spatial changes of Chinese animal husbandry industry agglomeration from 2002 to 2021. On this basis, the fixedeffects model was constructed to explore the influencing factors of the animal husbandry industry agglomeration. The results showed that from 2002 to 2021, the agglomeration degree of Chinese animal husbandry industry exhibited a continuous upward trend. The focus of the animal husbandry industry agglomeration had been concentrated in Henan and Sichuan for a long time. The animal husbandry industry gradually gathered from the eastern to the central region. The technology input, industry correlation, economic development level and policy environment all had a positive impact on the animal husbandry industry agglomeration, while the number of labor force had no significant impact on the animal husbandry industry agglomeration. Therefore, the paper puts forward some suggestions to accelerate the clustered development of animal husbandry industry, stimulate the shift of high-qualitanimal husbandry industry elements to the centralregion, and strengthen the policy support for the animal husbandry industry agglomeration, so as to provide a reference for promoting the high-quality development of animal husbandry industry. Music expresses thoughts and emotions in artistic form and is made up of different components including harmony, rhythm, and melody. Several musical elements are tied together during the songwriting process in order to generate melodies that are harmonic. A music melody is the essential element of any music to generate strong feelings from listeners and capture their interest. In the process of music appreciation, melody controls the emotional changes of music. It is an efficiently perceived part and the tone of a song. In recent years, Sichuan unvoiced music has developed rapidly and attracted much attention. This paper selects Sichuan unvoiced music as the main research theme and constructs a melody generation algorithm by utilizing the state-of-the-art techniques of deep learning (DL) and evolutionary algorithms (EAs) such as recurrent neural network-long short-term memory (RNN-LSTM) and genetic algorithm (GA). Firstly, this paper briefly describes the concept of DL algorithms, the deep generation model, and sequence to sequence model, as they constitute the technological foundation for this research. Secondly, this paper proposes a melody generation algorithm that utilizes RNN-LSTM for melody generation and GA for melody optimization. More specifically, the melody is generated by preprocessing data, creating, and training the RNN-LSTM model. A GA was used to determine the melodic fitness function for eight songs as the fitness function directly affects the selected termination condition. The fitness function can be thought of as either a person or an evolutionary rule. Finally, the average score of these songs, before and after evolution, is calculated, which demonstrates that the analysis and rotation creation methods are more precise and that the song's average melody score is higher. The method proposed in this study has been thoroughly compared to the existing approaches proposed in earlier studies, and it was found that the approach we propose is more effective in terms of accuracy and the average melody score. Neoproterozoic strata are widely developed in the Upper Yangtze region of South China, among which the Sinian Dengying Formation has been discovered with numerous large gas fields in the Sichuan Basin, and hence they have become an essential domain for natural gas exploration and development. The early‐to‐middle Neoproterozoic Nanhua System and Doushantuo Formation are characterized by rifting deposits in the northeastern margin of Sichuan Basin, but their depositional succession and sequence architectures are still unclear, which has largely restricted our understanding of the resource potential of these strata. In this paper, based on the outcrops of the Neoproterozoic Nanhua System and Doushantuo Formation in the northeastern margin of Sichuan Basin, we describe the stratigraphic distribution and sedimentary evolutionary characteristics, and establish the regional stratigraphic framework, sedimentary cycle and evolutionary sequence of the Nanhua System and Doushantuo Formation. The results show that the lithology of the Nanhua System and Doushantuo Formation is primarily composed of conglomerate, conglomeratic sandstone, medium‐fine sandstone, siltstone, mudstone, shale and tillite; a variety of sedimentary facies including alluvial fan, river, delta, coastal shore, shelf, basin and tillite were developed; five third‐order sequences could be identified, representing multiple cycles of marine transgression and regression. The climate during the deposition of the Nanhua System and Doushantuo Formation underwent from a warm and humid pre‐glacial period through cold and arid multiple glacial periods to a warm and humid interglacial period, which consequently formed a sedimentary sequence of alluvial fan and fluvial delta to tillite during the early period, shelf basin to tillite during the middle period and slope basin to delta facies during the late period. In terms of a plan view, the depositional pattern is composed of alluvial fans and deltas at the proximal part of the rift, deep‐water shelf to slope at the middle part of the rift and slope to basin facies at the central part of the rift. Finally, we propose that large‐scale distribution of high‐quality source rocks developed in the interglacial Datangpo and Doushantuo formations, while fluvial‐deltaic reservoirs occurred in the Gucheng, Nantuo and Doushantuo formations, thus showing favourable resource potential and exploration prospects within the Sichuan Basin. The Longmaxi Formation in the Sichuan Basin is a hotspot formation for shale gas exploration. In this paper, taking the Longmaxi Formation shale in Yuxi area as an example, a large number of TOC tests, X-diffraction whole-rock mineral fraction tests, electron microscope observations, physical properties, gas content, and CT scanning experiments were carried out, which in turn analyzed the characteristics of the shale gas reservoir and the factors influencing the gas content. The results of the study show that there are seven types of shale facies developed in Yuxi area, which are organic-rich siliceous shale facies (I), organic-rich carbonate-siliceous shale facies (II), organic-rich clayey shale facies (III), organic-poor clayey shale facies (IV), organic-poor carbonate-siliceous shale facies (V), organic-poor siliceous shale facies (VI), and organic-poor siliceous-carbonate shale facies (VII). The microstructural characteristics of the shale reflect that it was disturbed by multiple environmental factors at the time of deposition, and the sources of brittle minerals include both terrestrial clasts and biogenic siliciclastics. The bottom 30 m shale of Longmaxi Formation has good physical properties and gas content, which is a high-quality target section for shale gas exploration and development. Insect white wax is a type of biological wax, mainly produced in Jiading Fu (now Leshan, Sichuan province) in southern Sichuan province, also known as Sichuan wax. It is a special export product in China and an important source of income for local wax farmers. From the seventeenth century onward, Westerners who traveled deep into southwestern China studied the wax, including its geographical distribution, biological experiments, and production techniques. They assessed its commercial prospects and strove to introduce it to Europe and the areas it controlled. Based on the reports of the European scholars' expeditions, travelogues, conference proceedings, and correspondence, this paper examines the history of Western research on the insect white wax and aims to investigate the underlying motivations for the exploration activities, proposes the concept of "object colonialism," and discusses the impact of adopting objects from their countries of origin on the world's political and economic landscape. Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is an essential staple crop in China. Appropriate storage methods and technology are critical to ensure the quality of seed potatoes, which is closely related to the field performance. So far, the diffused light storage (DLS) technique has been widely applied to potato crop. In this paper, two special potato varieties ('Chuanyu 117' and 'Mira') were treated at DLS for 60 days, and the effects of growth conditions on tuber sprouts and subsequent field performance were evaluated. The results showed that the DLS treatment significantly promoted the greening of potato tubers from highland and simultaneously affected the average sprouting rate, sprout length and number of sprouts at different storage stages, which indicated obvious interacting correlations between DLS treatments and potato varieties. Especially for 'Mira', the shortest average sprout length (2.7 mm) was obtained under 40–200 lx light level, while 'Chuanyu 117' had the shortest average sprout length (1.3 mm) under 5–10 lx and its sprout length was also controlled within 2.3 mm under 200–2000 lx. In the cultivation experiment that followed, the potato tubers with 4–6 mm and 2–3 mm sprout length had the highest yield after 90 days and 110 days planting, respectively. Overall, these results demonstrated that for seed potatoes harvested from the highland area followed by storing for 30 days in the lowland, the sprout length can be better controlled at 2–3 mm to obtain short and strong sprouts when stored under 40–200 lx or 200–2000 lx diffused light for 60 days, which is especially suitable in terms of fast field emergence after planting and final tuber yield for the autumn and winter cultivation of potato in the Chengdu Plain. It is also suggested that the DLS technique on seed potatoes could be used in the mixed single and double-cropping areas in Sichuan and other areas with similar geographical and climatic conditions. The Yarlung Zsangbo Grand Canyon (YGC) is an important pathway for water vapor transport from southern Asia to the Tibetan Plateau (TP). This area exhibits one of the highest frequencies of convective activity in China, and precipitation often induces natural disasters in local communities, which can dramatically affect their livelihoods. In addition, the produced precipitation gives rise to vast glaciers and large rivers around the YGC. In 2018, the Second Tibetan Plateau Scientific Expedition and Research Program tasked a research team to conduct an "investigation of the precipitation process in the water vapor channel of the Yarlung Zsangbo Grand Canyon" (INVC) in the southeastern TP. This team subsequently established a comprehensive observation system of land–air interaction, water vapor, clouds, and rainfall activity in the YGC. This paper introduces the developed observation system and summarizes the preliminary results obtained during the first two years of the project. Using this INVC observation network, herein, we focus on the development of rainfall events on the southeastern TP. This project also helps to monitor geohazards in the key area of the Sichuan–Tibet railway, which traverses the northern YGC. The Chengdu Plain serves as the central hub for economic development in Sichuan Province. The study of its surface deformation plays a pivotal role in disaster prevention and ensuring the safety of lives and property. Based on SBAS-Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar technology, this paper derived the land surface deformation in the Chengdu Plain from January 2020 to October 2022, and analyzed it in relation to urban development and other natural environmental factors. Results are as follows: (1) The overall surface deformation in the study area remains stable, with a noticeable trend of westward uplift and eastward decline. Significant uplift is identified in Dujiangyan and Pengzhou, located near the Longmen Mountain, with a maximum uplift rate of +61 mm/year. Conversely, subsidence is evident from Qingbaijiang District in Chengdu to Deyang, with subsidence rates reaching a maximum of −87.8 mm/year. In the areas of Dayi and Qionglai, subsidence is relatively minor. The surface subsidence phenomenon in the study area is primarily associated with urban development. (2) The mean grey correlation coefficient between the time-series cumulative surface deformation and precipitation is 0.71, which suggests a strong relationship between the surface deformation and precipitation in the Chengdu Plain. However, a time delay is observed between the changes in surface deformation and precipitation. (3) The Longmen Mountain tectonic belt extrudes and lifts the premountain plain, playing a crucial role in shaping its topography. Additionally, the concealed fracture zone of Xinjin-Chengdu-Deyang may have contributed to surface subsidence. (4) After eliminating the effect of human factors, the cultivated land and grass land cover types exhibit a subsided state, whilst the artificial surface deformation is relatively stable, and the forest land exhibits an uplifted state. Siliceous minerals of the Dengying Formation in the Gaoshiti–Moxi area in the central Sichuan Basin exhibit four types of quartz crystals (cryptocrystalline quartz, chalcedony, microcrystalline quartz, and megacrystalline quartz) and three structural types: cryptocrystalline, microcrystalline, and mosaic (laminated mosaic, window-hole interrupted mosaic, and arc-laminated mosaic). Siliceous minerals have a great influence on the storage performance of the reservoirs in the Dengying Formation. According to the petrophysical parameters of the Dengying Formation and porosity intersection diagrams, the siliceous dolomite and the reservoirs have low impedance characteristics, which makes it difficult to distinguish between them and leads to difficulties in the characterization and prediction of the reservoirs. The transverse wave velocity is favorable for reservoir characterization. Currently, the main method used to estimate the transverse wave velocity is petrophysical modeling, which establishes a relationship between the elastic and physical parameters of the reservoir. In this paper, the siliceous minerals in the dolomite in the study area are regarded as solid inclusions, and the calculation method of the rock matrix modulus is improved by using solid replacement. Then, an improved petrophysical model is constructed by combining the KT (Kuster–Toksöz) model, the DEM (Discrete Element Method) model, the Gassmann equation, and the Wood equation. The transverse wave velocity is estimated using the improved model under the constraint of the longitudinal wave velocity. The shapes of the transverse wave velocity curves obtained by the improved model and the deviations from the measured velocities are significantly better than those of the Xu–Payne model and other models. The results show that the improved model can effectively estimate the transverse wave velocity of the reservoir in this area, which provides a basis for future reservoir predictions in this area. Landslides are common natural disasters that cause serious damage to ecosystems and human societies. To effectively prevent and mitigate these disasters, an accurate assessment of landslide hazards is necessary. However, most traditional landslide hazard assessment methods rely on static assessment factors while ignoring the dynamic changes in landslides, which may lead to false-positive errors in the assessment results. This paper presents a novel landslide hazard assessment method for the Zagunao River basin, China. In this study, an updated landslide inventory was obtained for the Zagunao River basin using data from interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) and optical images. Based on this inventory, a landslide susceptibility map was developed using a random forest algorithm. Finally, an evaluation matrix was created by combining the results of deformation rates from both ascending and descending data to establish a hazard level that considers surface deformation. The method presented in this study can reflect recent landslide hazards in the region and produce dynamic assessments of regional landslide hazards. Predicting landslide hazards benefits geological disaster prevention and control. A novel cellular automaton (CA) integrating spatial case-based reasoning (SCBR), namely SCBR-CA, is proposed in this paper to predict landslide hazards at a local scale. The proposed model not only extracts spatial scene features for computations but also achieves dynamic prediction, which means that only one input is needed to obtain continuous predictions. Experiments were performed in Lushan, Sichuan, China. After using a convolutional neural network (CNN) to obtain the initial static landslide hazard zoning results, the landslide hazard zoning results for 2016–2025 were predicted with the SCBR-CA model. For comparison, a CA combined with a CNN (CNN-CA), was introduced. The area under the curve (AUC) of the receiver operating characteristic curve and Moran's I index were used to assess the performance of the model. The experimental results showed that SCBR-CA yields slightly better AUC and Moran's I index values than CNN-CA, and the dynamically predicted landslide hazard zoning results are equivalent or superior to those of static zoning, which indicates that the SCBR-CA model effectively predict local landslide hazards. Machine learning models have been widely used in landslide susceptibility prediction. However, landslide multidimensional feature extraction, model generalization ability, and prediction quantification of deep learning are still challenging. This paper proposes a new approach, the landslide density-based bidirectional long short-term memory (LD-BiLSTM) model with multichannel input and an optimized sampling strategy to predict and map landslide susceptibility in active seismic mountainous areas of Sichuan Province, China. First, to ensure the generalization ability of the LD-BiLSTM model, other regions in Sichuan were selected as the model training area independent of the prediction area (Luding County). Multichannel landslide datasets were constructed to extract high-dimensional geospatial features of landslides. Subsequently, the landslide density of each grid cell was utilized as the label for the corresponding input sample. The LD-BiLSTM model was improved by using transfer learning and sampling optimization strategies, which makes our method attenuate the impact of historical landslide inventory deviation on the spatial susceptibility mode compared with the existing DL model, which usually uses landslide objects (LO) as input sample labels. Model performance evaluation results show that the LD-BiLSTM model (precision = 0.903, recall = 0.899, F1-score = 0.901, Area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) = 0.940) outperformed the LO-BiLSTM model (precision = 0.812, recall = 0.815. F1-score = 0.813, AUC = 0.910) in the case areas. Meanwhile, the performance of the LD-BiLSTM model (AUC = 0.9407) significantly outperformed both the information value (IV) (AUC = 0.7207) model and the random forest (RF) (AUC = 0.8116) models in the landslide prediction area (Luding), which confirms that the proposed LD-based method is superior to traditional LO-based methods. With the increase of shale gas resource exploitation in our country during recent decades, the situations of low gas production, fast production decline rate, and low flowback rate have been appearing in field production. It is an urgent problem to be solved in shale gas production and it is therefore necessary to study the interaction of the shale gas reservoir and the detained fracturing fluid. In this paper, the Longmaxi Formation shale samples of Sichuan Basin were selected for a water invasion experiment. The fracture propagation law, the water invasion front location, and the water invasion thickness of deep and shallow shale reservoirs after water invasion were compared and analyzed by CT scanning technology. Based on the analysis of the experimental mechanism, a numerical simulation model was established. The dimensionless permeability and thickness of the fracturing fluid invasion layer were introduced to analyze the positive and negative effects of fracturing fluid retention on the reservoir. The results show that during the hydraulic fracturing of shale gas wells, fracturing fluid can quickly enter the complex fracture network, and then slowly enter the shale matrix under various mechanisms to form the fracturing fluid invasion layer. Compared with shallow shale reservoirs, deep shale reservoirs have lower porosity and permeability, which propagates microfractures in the matrix induced by fracturing fluid retention, and results in a smaller fracturing fluid invasion layer thickness. Both the negative effect of fracturing fluid retention on shale damage and the positive effect of microfracture formation and propagation exist simultaneously. The higher the dimensionless fracturing fluid invasion layer permeability, the more complex the fracture network formed in the fractured reservoir will be, resulting in a longer stable production period and a better development effect. When the dimensionless fracturing fluid invasion layer permeability is greater than 1, that is, when the positive effect of fracturing fluid retention is greater, and the thicker the dimensionless fracturing fluid invasion layer is, the better the development effect will be. Combining reservoir characteristics and fracture development, the key to obtaining high productivity of a shale gas well is to optimize the soaking time and the speed of flowback in order to extend the stable production period. In this paper, the characteristics of the fracturing fluid invasion layer and the influence of fracturing fluid retention on gas well productivity are deeply studied, which provides a certain theoretical basis for the optimization of shale gas extraction technology and the improvement of the gas–water two-phase productivity prediction method for fractured horizontal wells. [Objective] The present paper aimed to promote the more effective transformation of agricultural scientific and technological a- chievements, it is necessary to build a stable transformation model and a scientific and reasonable profit distribution mechanism. Considering the risk-taking, technological innovation and cooperation degree of participants, the paper constructed a benefit distribution model for the transformation of agricultural scientific and technological a- chievements based on the modified Shapley value method, and made a theoretical and empirical analysis on the benefit distribution mecha- nism of each subject in the transformation of agricultural scientific and technological achievements. As one of the common physical materials in Chinese archaeological excavations, ancient bronzes are an essential basis for studying the development of Chinese bronze culture, which is of great significance for exploring the development law of ancient human civilization and reconstructing ancient human society. As China's infrastructure advances, the number of bronzes unearthed by archaeological excavations continues to increase. However, environmental damage to artefacts is very complex, whether the buried environment of the artefacts or the above-ground environment when the artefacts are unearthed, leading to different health problems for the excavated bronzes. A scientific assessment of these bronzes needs to be carried out prior to extraction to inform staff how they should be extracted, moved, and transported and how they should be restored afterwards. In response to the above problems, this paper takes excavated bronzes from archaeological sites as the research object and, by analysing and studying the relevant industry standards and the disease characteristics of bronzes, establishes a three-tier indicator framework for assessing the health of bronzes in a layer-by-layer refinement and proposes quantitative indicators with typical correlations. Through extensive research and testing, we screened out efficient, non-destructive, convenient and reliable assessment and testing methods and assessment models that combine subjective and objective aspects suitable for archaeological sites. On this basis, the paper achieves a scientific and practical assessment of the health status of bronzes excavated from archaeological sites. After repeated experiments, a set of comprehensive methods for quickly and conveniently assessing the health status of excavated bronzes was proposed for the first time and successfully applied to the archaeological excavation site of Sanxingdui site in Guanghan City, Sichuan Province, China. Early work on China's Two-Child Policy identified cost as a major disincentive to having a second child, but financial constraints may work in tandem with cultural factors to shape childbearing desire. In addition, most research has excluded men from the sample. This paper develops Yan's (2003) concepts of 'new' and 'traditional' fertility cultures to childbearing desire, a key component of fertility decision-making that is poorly understood (Hayford & Agadjanian, 2017). In particular, we focus on how differing conceptions of children's needs relate to perceptions of cost. This paper reports on semi-structured interviews with 29 men and women in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province. We found that interviewees who espoused views consistent with a traditional fertility framework were more interested in having a second child, and were less concerned about cost. As flexible resources, cascaded hydropower stations can regulate the fluctuations caused by wind and photovoltaic power. Constructing pumped-storage units between two upstream and downstream reservoirs is an effective method to further expand the capacity of flexible resources. This method transforms cascaded hydropower stations into a cascaded pumped-hydro-energy storage system. In this paper, a flexibility reformation planning model of cascaded hydropower stations retrofitted with pumped-storage units under a hybrid system composed of thermal, wind, and photovoltaic power is established with the aim of investigating the optimal capacity of pumped-storage units. First, a generative adversarial network and a density peak clustering algorithm are utilized to generate typical scenarios to deal with the seasonal fluctuation of renewable energy generation, natural water inflow, and loads. Then, a full-scenario optimization method is proposed to optimize the operation costs of multiple scenarios considering the variable-speed operation characteristics of pumped storage and to obtain a scheme with better comprehensive economy. Meanwhile, the proposed model is retransformed into a mixed-integer linear programming problem to simplify the solution. The effect of soil parameters on basin amplification effect has been widely investigated, especially for the small and medium-sized basins under plane wave incidence or point source ruptures. However, the sensitivities of seismic amplification effect of large-scale basins with respect to soil parameters during great earthquakes with tremendous rupture faults have obtained relatively less attention. In this paper, based on the established three-dimensional Sichuan basin model, the effects of four material parameters of the basin sediments, including the shear wave velocity, Poisson's ratio, and the shear quality factor of the Quaternary sediment, as well as the velocity of the rock above the basin crystalline basement (which will be referred as SVQS, PRQS, QFQS, and VCBR, respectively), on the long-period wave amplification patterns of the Sichuan basin during the great Wenchuan earthquake are investigated by using the spectral element method and parallel computing technique. The results show the following: (1) SVQS has the greatest influence on the basin horizontal component ground motions, while the vertical component is comparably insensitive to it. (2) PRQS demonstrates comparable effects on the horizontal and vertical basin ground motions. With the increase of PRQS, the amplitudes and regions of the strong shakings both become smaller. However, the influence of PRQS is less significant compared with SVQS and VCBR. (3) QFQS mainly affects the relatively high-frequency motions inside the basin, and the low-frequency motions are generally insensitive to it. With the reduction of QFQS, the amplitudes and regions of the basin strong ground motions turn a little smaller, but the distribution features are generally unchanged. (4) Effects of VCBR on the horizontal and vertical component basin ground motions are opposite. The optimal choice of the planetary boundary layer (PBL) parameterization scheme is of particular interest and urgency to a wide range of scholars, especially for many works involving models. At present, there have been many works to evaluate the PBL schemes. However, little research has been conducted into a more comprehensive and systematic assessment of the performance capability of schemes in key regions of China, especially when it comes to the differences in the mechanisms of the schemes themselves, primarily because there is scarcely sufficient observational data, computer resources, and storage support to complete the work. In this companion paper (i.e., Part 1), four typical schemes (i.e., YSU, ACM2, BL, and MYJ) are selected to systematically analyze and evaluate near-surface meteorological parameters, PBL vertical structure, PBL height (PBLH), and turbulent diffusion coefficient (TDC) in five key regions of China (i.e., North China Plain, NCP; Yangtze River Delta, YRD; Sichuan Basin, SB; Pearl River Delta, PRD and Northwest Semi-arid region, NS) in different seasons (i.e., January, April, July, and October). The differences in the simulated 2 m temperatures between the nonlocal closure schemes are mainly affected by the downward shortwave radiation, but to compare the nonlocal closure schemes with the local closure schemes, the effect of sensible heat flux needs to be further considered. The 10 m wind speed is under the influence of factors like the momentum transfer coefficient and the integrated similarity functions at night. The wind speeds are more significantly overestimated in the plains and basin, while less overestimated or even underestimated in the mountains, as a result of the effect on topographic smoothing in the model. Moreover, the overestimation of small wind speeds at night is attributable to the inapplicability of the Monin–Obukhov similarity theory (MOST) at night. The model captures the vertical structure of temperature well, while the wind speed is outstandingly overestimated below 1000 m, largely because of the TDC. The difference between the MOST and the mixing length theory, PBLH, and Prandtl number is cited as the reason for the difference between the TDC of the YSU and ACM2 schemes. The TDCs of the BL and MYJ schemes are affected by the mixing length scale, which of BL is calculated on the basis of the effect of buoyancy, while MYJ calculates it with the consideration of the effect of the total turbulent kinetic energy. The PBLH of the BL scheme is better than the other schemes because of the better simulation results of temperature. In general, to select the optimal scheme, it is necessary to offer different options for different regions with different focuses (heat or momentum). The first focus is on the temperature field. The BL scheme is recommended for January in the NCP region, especially for Beijing, and the MYJ scheme is better for the other 3 months. The ACM2 scheme would be a good match for the YRD region, where the simulation differences between the four schemes are small. The topography of the SB region is more complex, but for most of the areas in the basin, the MYJ scheme is proposed, and if more stations outside the basin are involved, the BL scheme is recommended. The MYJ scheme is applied to the PRD region in January and April, and the BL scheme in July and October. The MYJ scheme is counseled for the NS region. The second focus is the wind field. The YSU scheme is recommended if the main concern is the near-surface layer, and the BL scheme is suggested if focusing on the variation in the vertical direction. The final evaluation of the parameterization scheme and uncertainties will lay the foundation for the improvement of the modules and forecasting of the GRAPES_CUACE regional model developed independently in China. Objective To explore the surface landscape characteristics, evolution patterns and epidemiological significance of the Himalayan dry otter plague natural epidemic sites under the dual influence of natural environment and major projects such as the Sichuan-Tibet Railway. Methods Based on the continuous land use, NDVI and other geographic environmental data of the natural source of Himalayan dry otter plague along the Sichuan-Tibet Railway in Sichuan from 2010 to 2021, paper quantitatively analyzed the changes in the geographic pattern of the natural source of plague and its association with the Himalayan dry otter population with the help of land use shift matrix, NDVI trend analysis and landscape index. Results During 2010-2020, the dominant vegetation type is grassland, the transfer between various types of land is gentle, the overall vegetation cover rises gently by 24.78%, the area of vegetation improvement zone accounts for 75.84%, the aggregation of various types of grassland strengthens, the differentiation of land classes intensifies, and the density of Himalayan dry otter decreases. After 2020, the transfer of land is relatively intensified, mainly the conversion between forest land and grassland, the scattered expansion of various types of grassland, and the density of Himalayan dry otter decreases. The boundary between classes gradually weakens, and the density of Himalayan dry otter increases. Conclusion Dual natural and anthropogenic disturbances will intensify changes in the landscape pattern of the natural source of Himalayan dry otter plague along the Sichuan-Tibet Railway, destroy the overall stability of the ecosystem of the natural source of plague. Previous scientific research on reservoirs of the Deng IV Member in the Gaoshiti-Moxi area, the main production area of the Anyue gas field with reserves of tens of billions of cubic metres, has focused on karst palaeogeomorphology reconstruction, the facies distribution on platform margins, and their effects on creating favourable reservoirs. However, the quality of microbial carbonate reservoirs is also closely related to their original depositional environments on both inner and marginal platforms. Therefore, this paper attempts to reveal favourable microbial carbonate reservoir characteristics and the sedimentary effects on their distribution and prediction based predominantly on a synthetic analysis of the sequence stratigraphy and depositional facies. The results show that favourable reservoirs of the Deng IV Member are classified into three types according to their reservoir spaces: fracture-cavity, pore-cavity and pore reservoirs. Secondary dissolution pores and cavities are primary reservoir spaces developed mainly in nonskeletal grain dolomites with sparry cements, thrombolites, and stromatolites. The physical properties of the fracture-cavity and pore-cavity types of reservoirs are better than those of pore reservoirs and have porosities between 1 and 5% and permeabilities between 0.01 × 10–3 and 1 × 10–3 μm2. Vertically, favourable reservoirs are developed mainly in parasequence set 6 (PSS6) and PSS7 and are laterally distributed in well zone MX9-MX19-MX1 for the fracture-cavity type, MX105-MX110-GS20 for the pore-cavity type and MX17-MX107-MX41-MX102-GS102 for the pore type. Moreover, depositional effects on reservoirs in terms of depositional sequences, seismic facies, microfacies and microfacies associations indicate that to some extent, the fracture-cavity type of reservoir is constrained by the top boundaries of PSS7, PSS2, parasequence 17 (PS17) and PS14; the pore-cavity type of reservoir is constrained by the top boundaries of PSS7, PSS4, PS18 and PS12; and the pore type of reservoir is constrained by the top boundaries of PSS7, PSS6, PSS3, PSS2, PS18, PS17, PS14, and PS12. Seismic facies associated with shoals and mound-flat complexes are related to the facies distributions of pore cavities and pore reservoirs. MA1, MA3, MA7, and MA8 are predominant microfacies associations of favourable reservoirs of the Deng IV Member in the Gaoshiti-Moxi area. Anthropogenic forcing caused the biodiversity loss and stability decline of communities. There is still controversy over whether the decline in biodiversity will lead to a decrease in community stability. The stability of biological communities is related to both biodiversity and structure, and this paper aims to reveal the human impacts on diatom communities' biodiversity and structure. We studied the richness, β‐diversity and network distance of diatom communities in Qinghai‐Xizang, Yunnan‐Sichuan and Lower Yangtze River Basin, China through empirical dataset and simulation method. The results showed that the diatoms richness in the Qinghai‐Xizang and the Yunnan‐Sichuan region was lower and the network distance was higher than that of the Lower Yangtze River Basin. β‐diversity in the Lower Yangtze River Basin was the lowest and the diatom network distance responds negatively to human population densities in China. The simulation showed that the network distance kept constant during random species loss, and declined while specialist species were lost or replaced by generalist species. The results suggested diatom communities' homogeneity and stability decline were associated with human activities. Human impacts may cause biodiversity loss targeted to specialist species or no biodiversity loss while generalist species replace those specialist species. The ion-adsorption rare earth deposit developed on the Mosuoying granite in the Panxi area of southwestern China represents a significant advancement in the exploration of ion-adsorption rare earth deposits in Sichuan. Being the first and currently the sole ion-adsorption rare earth deposit in Sichuan, studying its rare earth mineralization characteristics holds great importance. This paper aims to investigate the geochemical properties of the Mosuoying granite and its overlying weathered crust using rock geochemical methods based on field geological investigations. The findings reveal that the deposit belongs to the light rare earth type, with the ore-forming parent rock attributed to the high-potassium calc-alkaline series. It exhibits a high rock REE content ranging from 419 to 578 ppm, indicating favorable mineralization potential. Hydrothermal alteration reduces the REE content of the parent rock, leading to a notable increase in the LREE/HREE ratio, thus impacting the partitioning of rare earth elements and subsequent ore formation. The distribution characteristics of rare earth elements in each layer of the weathered crust are controlled by the parent rock and exhibit a light rare earth distribution pattern. The completely weathered layer is the main enrichment zone for rare earth elements, and the migration and enrichment patterns of rare earth elements in the weathered crust are evident. From the semi-weathered layer to the completely weathered layer, all REEs were gained, with a higher degree of migration for LREE. From the completely weathered layer to the clay layer, all REEs were lost, and the vertical distribution of rare earth content shows a "low-high-low" pattern. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Currently, there is a large deviation between official road freight data and real road freight performance at a subnational level in China. In order to deal with this deviation, the new concept of local freight tonnage and ton-kilometers is presented in this paper based on the territoriality principle, where either the origin or the destination of goods transported is local. Also, the statistic procedures and estimation models of the local freight tonnage and ton-kilometers are proposed based on five accessible basic datasets. Finally, an empirical study in Sichuan province of China is conducted. The statistical results show that there is a large amount of local freight transported by local non-commercial trucks and non-local trucks, which is ignored in the existing road freight statistics. Especially, the higher the level of local economic development, the greater the deviation between the official road freight data and the real road freight performance at a subnational level. Based on various velocity fields from Global Positioning System (GPS) data over nearly 20 years in the Sichuan–Yunnan region, this paper calculated the strain rate field and its spatiotemporal characteristics by using an improved least squares collocation method. We evaluated the calculated strain field by extensively discussing the impact of non-tectonic factors on the calculation. Subsequently, we described the present-day strain rate features and their spatiotemporal variations. The results indicate the necessity of considering the influence of non-tectonic factors when calculating the strain rate field by using GPS velocity data. Widespread strain accumulation is observed in the Sichuan–Yunnan region, and significant second strain rate invariant with an average value of 33.1 nanostrain/yr primarily occurs along the eastern boundary faults of the Sichuan–Yunnan rhomboid block, specifically the Xianshuihe–Anninghe–Zemuhe–Xiaojiang fault systems. These fault systems also demarcate the zones with negative and positive dilation strain. According to the spatiotemporal variations of strain rate fields, the northern and southern segments of the Xianshuihe Fault, the Anninghe Fault and its eastern adjacent faults, and the Xiaojiang Fault are undergoing intensifying strain. The security of natural gas supply and demand has always been an important topic, and as a result, analyzing and predicting the supply and demand of natural gas has received considerable attention from researchers. Numerous studies have extensively researched the supply and demand of natural gas. The main purpose of this study is to explore the supply‐demand balance mechanism for natural gas security. A system dynamics model is constructed to assess the supply and demand of natural gas in Sichuan Province, China. A new system dynamics model based on domestic gas, production gas, ecological environment and natural gas supply is proposed. The study considers four scenarios: natural development, economic priority development, environmental priority development and coordinated development. The results show that the rapid economic development has led to an excessive environmental carrying capacity, a larger gap between natural gas supply and demand, a decline in the quality of life of residents, and even affected the energy security of Sichuan Province and China. The findings also show that people's overprotection of the environment can lead to slow economic development, which prevents it from achieving its desired goals. The coordinated development scenario in this paper not only ensures the production of natural gas and the quality of life of residents, but also is an optimal scheme with low energy consumption and pollution. According to the research conclusions, considering the overall situation of China's energy security and the situation in Sichuan Province, the author proposes reforms from the supply and demand sides of natural gas. This paper presents the investigation results of a base-isolated RC frame-shear wall structure located in Luding County, Sichuan Province, China, which was damaged by a Ms 6.8 earthquake on September 5, 2022. This recently constructed school office building was about 9 km away from the epicenter. The isolation layer of this building consists of 54 rubber bearings and 12 viscous dampers. These viscous dampers or their connections failed during the earthquake, and the limit state included connection breaking or global buckling of the damper. Also, the superstructure suffered some minor damage. To investigate the cause of structural damages, a nonlinear time-history analysis is conducted using the ground motions recorded by four seismic stations close to the building. Purpose: With the increasing prevalence and chronic course of gout, the use of mobile health (mHealth) applications (APPs) for gout self-management is attracting considerable research attention as an effective approach to improving health outcomes. However, there is limited knowledge regarding the self-management support that a mHealth APP for gout should provide to patients according to their needs. The aim of this study was to interview patients with gout and identify their needs with respect to gout self-management support. Patients and Methods: We conducted qualitative research using a purposive sampling method from January 2019 to August 2019. Individual face-to-face semi-structured interviews were conducted with patients recruited from West China Hospital in Sichuan, China. The qualitative data were transcribed verbatim and analyzed by thematic analysis. Results: Ten male patients with gout were included in the final analysis. Instrumental, psychological, and relational support emerged as themes describing the needs of patients for gout self-management support. The instrumental support included health education, hospital registration, setting reminders, and shopping. Psychological support referred to helping patients mitigate various negative emotions. Relational support included interactions with healthcare providers and fellow patients. Conclusion: The present findings indicate that healthcare providers or companies should develop mHealth APPs for gout self-management based on the needs of patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the face of the new reform of China's "unified electricity market", the frequency regulation ancillary service market in each region of China is still divided between using the MCP and PAB pricing mechanisms. The purpose of this paper is to explore the different impact the laws of the above two pricing mechanisms have on the frequency regulation market and to provide relevant suggestions for this electricity market reform. This paper simulates the competitive activities of the frequency regulation market based on the multi-agent simulation model, conducts a comparative experiment by changing the pricing mechanism to a single variable based on the rules of the Sichuan frequency regulation market in China, and concludes that MCP can make the market fast and stable, and that its market settlement price is low, which is suitable for the "unified electricity market". Although PAB makes the market settlement price high, it can ensure the retention of high-performance units in the market, and the stable settlement price makes this model able to accurately reflect the "price signal", making it suitable for late adoption in the "unified electricity market". Several possible lithosphere–atmosphere–ionosphere coupling mechanisms before earthquake occurrence are presented in the literature. They are described by several models with different interaction channels (e.g., electromagnetic, mechanics, chemical, thermal), sometimes in conflict with each other. In this paper, we search for anomalies six months before the Lushan (China) 2013 earthquake in the three geo-layers looking for a possible view of the couplings and testing if one or another is more reliable to describe the observations. The Lushan earthquake occurred in China's Sichuan province on 20 April 2013, with a magnitude of Mw = 6.7. Despite the moderate magnitude of the event, it caused concern because its source was localized on the southwest side of the same fault that produced the catastrophic Wenchuan event in 2008. This paper applies a geophysical multi-layer approach to search for possible pre-earthquake anomalies in the lithosphere, atmosphere, and ionosphere. In detail, six main increases in the accumulated seismic stress were depicted. Anomalous geomagnetic pulsations were recorded in the Chengdu observatory, sometimes following the increased stress. Atmosphere status and composition were found to be anomalous in several periods before the earthquake, and, spatially, the anomalies seem to appear firstly far from the upcoming earthquakes and later approaching the Longmenshan fault where the Lushan earthquakes nucleated. The Formosat-3 data identified interesting anomalies in the altitude or electron content of the ionospheric F2 peak in correspondence with seismic and atmospheric anomalies 130 days before the earthquake. In addition, the total electron content showed high anomalous values from 12 to 6 days before the earthquake. We compared the anomalies and tried to explain their correspondences in different geo-layers by the lithosphere–atmosphere–ionosphere coupling models. In particular, we identified three possible couplings with different mechanisms: a first, about 130 days before the earthquake, with a fast (order of one day) propagation delay; a second, about 40 days before the earthquake occurrence, with a propagation delay of few days and a third from 2.5 weeks until one week before the event. Such evidence suggests that the geo-layers could interact with different channels (pure electromagnetic or a chain of physical-chemical processes) with specific propagation delays. Such results support the understanding of the preparation for medium and large earthquakes globally, which is necessary (although not sufficient) knowledge in order to mitigate their impact on human life. The rapid and accurate extraction of wide-area coseismic landslide locations is critical in earthquake emergencies. At present, the extraction of coseismic landslides is mainly based on post-earthquake site investigation or the interpretation of human–computer interactions based on remote sensing images. However, the identification efficiency is low, which seriously delays the earthquake emergency response. On the basis of the available multisource and multiscale remote sensing data, numerous studies have been carried out on the methods of coseismic landslide extraction, such as pixel analysis, object-oriented analysis, change detection, and machine learning. However, the effectiveness of coseismic landslide extraction was low in wide areas with complex topographic and geomorphic backgrounds. Therefore, this paper offers a comprehensive study of the factors influencing coseismic landslides and researches rapid and accurate wide-area coseismic landslide extraction methods with multisource remote sensing and geoscience technology. These techniques include digital elevation modeling (DEM) and its derived slopes and aspects. An embedded multichannel spectral–topographic feature fusion model for coseismic landslide extraction based on DeepLab V3+ is proposed, and a knowledge-enhanced deep learning information extraction method integrating geological knowledge is formed. Using the Jiuzhaigou Ms7.0 earthquake (seismic intensity VIII) in Sichuan Province, China, a comparison of landslide extraction models and strategies is carried out. The results show that the model proposed in this paper achieves the best balance in the accuracy and efficiency of wide-area extractions. Using multiple feature data of coseismic landslides, the problem of mixed pixels is solved. The rate of the misidentification of landslides as clouds, snow, buildings, and roads is significantly lower than in other methods. The identified landslide boundaries are smoother and more accurate, and the connectivity is better. Compared with other methods, ours can more accurately eliminate landslides not triggered by the Jiuzhaigou earthquake. While using the image block strategy to ensure extraction efficiency, it also improves the extraction accuracy of wide-area coseismic landslides in complex backgrounds. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Sichuan peppercorn Zanthoxylum sp. is an important food condiment, currently used in East Asia and South Asia. In this paper, we review genetic, archaeological, and linguistic evidence regarding the use of Zanthoxylum by ancient human populations. The evidence from these three disciplines converge to suggest that its earliest attested use dates from the midfourth millennium BCE, in Western Sichuan, making it one of the oldest spices in East Asia. The paper also discusses how this spice was supplemented, and even superseded, by the introduction of the American Chili Pepper (Capsicum spp.). in the seventeenth century. We further argue that differences in the biosynthesis of numbing compounds between cultivars of Zanthoxylum sp. in northern and southern Western China that are due to deep evolutionary processes may have in turn influenced culinary preferences. Objectives: On 5th September 2022, an Ms 6.8 earthquake struck the Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China. This earthquake triggered extensive geological hazards in the moun‐ tainous area, leading to serious casualties. Rapidly and accurately obtaining the spatial distribution of the in‐ duced geological hazards is crucial for emergency decision-making and rescue after an earthquake. Methods: Based on the global coseismic landslide database and deep learning algorithm, this paper built a near real-time prediction model of spatial distribution probability of coseismic landslides, and obtained the prediction results of the geological hazards induced by the Luding earthquake within 2 hours after the event. Through the post-earthquake unmanned aerial vehicle （UAV） and satellite remote sensing images, ma‐ chine learning and deep learning algorithms were used to realize the automated recognition of large-scale geological hazards. A total of 3 633 earthquake-induced landslides with an area of 13.78 km2 were interpreted. Finally, the model was optimized by integrating these landslide data, and the prediction results of coseismic landslides with a broader area and higher accuracy were achieved. Results: The results show that the coseis‐ mic landslide prediction model can realize a rapid capture of spatial distribution of post-earthquake geologi‐ cal hazards, filling the blank period before the acquisition of post-earthquake remote sensing images and providing support for post-disaster emergency rescue. Conclusions: Intelligent identification technologies based on UAV and satellite remote sensing images are effective means to rapidly obtain the vital informa‐ tion of large-scale geological hazards. The survival of human and sustainable development of the society both closely rely on forest ecosystem services. Employing two different methods, this paper based on benefit transfer method calculated the forest ecosystem services value of Sichuan province, China. The results showed that the total forest ecosystem services value had a steady rate of increase in Sichuan province from 2008 to 2018, and meanwhile, the different evaluation methods resulted in significant deviation of estimation outcomes. This paper considered the differences of biomass and socioeconomic development which were ignored in prior studies. The Carnegie-Ames-Stanford approach was employed to estimate the net primary productivity of different forest species. Further, the S type R. Pearl growth curve was employed to estimate people’s willingness and ability to pay for forest ecosystem services. This paper provided implications to help forest managers and policy makers pay additional attention to the evaluation systems choosing on forest ecosystem services value and the differences of biomass and socioeconomic development by using benefit transfer method method. Climate change has led to more frequent extreme weather events, and various natural disasters have posed risks to the operation of transmission lines. Line failures caused by natural disasters are unpredictable and bring additional maintenance work. Therefore, this paper proposes a transmission line risk reliability assessment method that considers the combined effects of multiple natural disasters. This method establishes a theory of disaster risk quantification that considers the probability of the occurrence of the risk, the degree of the impact of the risk on the line, and the severity of the risk disaster. The risk weights for different natural disasters are calculated by combining a hierarchical analysis and entropy weighting methods. The example of a transmission line risk assessment under the combined effects of multiple natural disasters for a Sichuan region verifies the proposed method's effectiveness. The results show that the method effectively assesses the operational risk to transmission lines under the combined effects of natural disasters. Despite being a clean and renewable energy source, photovoltaic (PV) power generation faces severe challenges in operation due to its strong intermittency and volatility compared to the traditional fossil fuel power generation. Accurate predictions are therefore crucial for PV's grid connections and the system security. The existing methods often rely heavily on weather forecasts, the accuracy of which is hard to be guaranteed. This paper proposes a novel GBDT-BiLSTM day-ahead PV forecasting model, which leverages the Teacher Forcing mechanism to combine the strong time-series processing capabilities of BiLSTM with an enhanced GBDT model. Given the uncertainty and volatility inherent in solar energy and weather conditions, the gradient boosting method is employed to update the weak learner, while a decision tree is incorporated to update the strong learner. Additionally, to explore the correlation between photovoltaic power output and historical time-series data, the adaptive gradient descent-based Adam algorithm is utilized to train the bidirectional LSTM model, enhancing the accuracy and stability of mid- to long-term time-series predictions. A prediction experiment, conducting with the real data from a PV power station in Sichuan Province, China, was compared with other methods to verify the model's effectiveness and robustness.
