This paper introduces a ranking and selection approach to psychoacoustic and psychophysical experimentation, with the aim of identifying top-ranking samples in listening experiments with minimal pairwise comparisons. We draw inspiration from sports tournament designs and propose to adopt modified knockout (KO) tournaments. Two variants of modified KO tournaments are described, which adapt the tree selection sorting algorithm and the replacement selection algorithm known from computer science. To validate the proposed method, a listening experiment is conducted, where binaural renderings of seven chamber music halls are compared regarding loudness and reverberance. The rankings obtained by the modified KO tournament method are compared to those obtained from a traditional round-robin (RR) design, where all possible pairs are compared. Moreover, the paper presents simulations to illustrate the method's robustness when choosing different parameters and assuming different underlying data distributions. The study's findings demonstrate that modified KO tournaments are more efficient than full RR designs in terms of the number of comparisons required for identifying the top ranking samples. The notion of indistinguishability operator plays a central role in a large number of problems that arise naturally in decision-making, artificial intelligence, and computer science. Among the different issues studied for these operators, the aggregation problem has been thoroughly explored. In some cases, the notion of indistinguishability operator can be too narrow and, for this reason, we can find two different extensions of such notion in the literature. On the one hand, modular indistinguishability operators make it possible to measure the degree of similarity or indistinguishability with respect to a parameter. On the other hand, relaxed indistinguishability operators delete the reflexivity condition of classical indistinguishability operators. In this paper, we introduced the notion of modular relaxed indistinguishability operator unifying under the same framework all previous notions. We focused our efforts on the study of the associated aggregation problem. Thus, we introduced the notion of modular relaxed indistinguishability operator aggregation function for a family of t-norms extending the counterpart formulated for classical non-modular relaxed indistinguishability operators. We provided characterizations of such functions in terms of triangle triplets with respect to a family of t-norms. Moreover, we addressed special cases where the operators fulfill a kind of monotony and a condition called small-self indistinguishability. Homomorphic evaluation of hash functions offers a solution to the challenge of data integrity authentication in the context of homomorphic encryption. The earliest attempt to achieve homomorphic evaluation of SHA-256 hash function was proposed by Mella and Susella (in: Cryptography and coding—14th IMA international conference, IMACC 2013. Unfortunately, their implementation faced significant limitations due to the exceedingly high multiplicative depth, rendering it impractical. Recently, a homomorphic implementation of SHA-256 based on the TFHE scheme (Homomorphic evaluation of SHA-256. https://github.com/zama-ai/tfhe-rs/tree/main/tfhe/examples/sha256%5fbool) brings it from theory to reality, however, its current efficiency remains insufficient. In this paper, we revisit the homomorphic evaluation of the SHA-256 hash function in the context of TFHE, further reducing the reliance on gate bootstrapping and enhancing evaluation latency. Specifically, we primarily utilize ternary gates to reduce the number of gate bootstrappings required for logic functions in message expansion and addition of modulo 2 32 in iterative compression. Furthermore, we demonstrate that our optimization techniques are applicable to the Chinese commercial cryptographic hash SM3. Finally, we give specific comparative implementations based on the TFHE-rs library. This paper presents a comprehensive survey of knowledge graphs in education. It covers the patterns and prospects of research in this area. A total of 48 relevant publications between 2011 and 2023 were collected from the Web of Science, Scopus, and ProQuest for review. The findings reveal a sharp increase in recent years in the body of research into educational knowledge graphs which was mainly conducted from institutions in China. Most of the relevant research work adopted a quantitative method, such as performance evaluation, user surveys, and controlled experiments, to assess the effectiveness of knowledge graph approaches. The findings also suggest that knowledge graph approaches were primarily researched and implemented in higher education institutions, with a focus on computer science, mathematics, and engineering. The most frequently addressed objectives included enhancing knowledge representation and providing personal learning recommendations, and the most common applications were concept instruction and educational recommendations. Diverse data resources, such as course materials, student learning behaviours, and online encyclopaedia, were processed to implement knowledge graph approaches in different scenarios. Relevant technical means employed for the implementation of knowledge graphs dealt with the purposes of building knowledge ontology, achieving recommendations, and creating knowledge graphs. Various pedagogies such as personalised learning and collaborative learning are supported by the knowledge graph approaches. The findings also identified key limitations in the relevant work, including insufficient information for knowledge graph construction, difficulty in extending applications across subject areas, the restricted scale and scope of data resources, and the lack of comprehensive user feedback and evaluation processes. Complex systems play important roles in science and economy and have become one of the major intellectual and scientific challenges of the twenty-first century. However, the way complex system research connects to other academic fields is much less well understood, with only anecdotal evidence. In this work, we present an anatomy of complex system research by leveraging a large-scale dataset that contains more than 100 million digitalized publications. First, we find that complex system research shows a steady growth relative to the whole science in the last 60 years, with a sudden burst after 2000, which might be related to the development of computational technologies. Although early complex system study shows strong referencing behaviors to mathematics and physics, it couples significantly with computer science in the twenty-first century and affects engineering strongly. Moreover, we find empirical evidence that complex system research tends to have multidisciplinary nature, as it is often inspired by or affects a diverse set of disciplines. Finally, we find significant positive correlations between fields' reference broadness and future scientific impacts. Overall, our findings are consistent with several characteristics of complex system research, i.e., its multidisciplinary, quantitative, and computational nature, and may have broad policy implications for supporting and nurturing multidisciplinary research. In the way of continuous improvement in teaching methods this paper explores the effects of Cooperative Learning (CL) against Traditional Learning (TL) in academic performance of students in higher education in two groups of the first course of Computer Science Degree at the university. The empirical study was conducted through an analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) in order to assess whether teaching methods have a significant effect on academic performance. The results show that teaching methods did not have a significant effect on the academic performance of the students. However, informal interviews with students revealed that they preferred CL. The study also explores whether there was a relationship between the average scores for conceptual and problem-type questions between both groups through a t-test analysis and for both courses there was no significant difference in the exam results between the two groups. Students who were exposed to TL methods outperformed the students who were taught via CL in mid-term exam. However, the result is opposite in the final exam where students from CL obtained better scores. Finally, with CL techniques students got better global results because they acquired a deeper understanding of the material.

Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), as a promising technology for rehabilitation, have attracted significant interest in the fields such as neurosciences, computer science, and biomedical engineering. Based on the expanded database of Science Citation Index, this paper analyzes bibliometrics in the field of BCI from 1990 to 2020 and discusses its potential research trends and prospects. The work provides a detailed overview of the BCI research status founded on the country, research area, institution, journal, author, citation, and keyword. A total of 7,880 papers suggest that the United States is leading the field of BCI research, followed by China and Germany. University of California system has produced the most publications, while the Graz University of Technology is leading the list for the h-index. Journal of Neural Engineering and IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering were identified to be the most productive journals in BCIs. Keywords analysis reflects that most research has focused on electroencephalography (EEG)-based BCIs to achieve a safe, real-time, stable link between the patient and artificial actuators. We can conclude by analyzing hot articles that new materials applied to neural probes may become the next hot topic. The typical paradigm of the BCI industry is the most urgent problem that can be solved in the standardization process. The rehabilitation applications appear as the initial driving force and ultimate goal for BCIs. Neuronal models have remained an important area of research in computer science. The dendritic neuron model (DNM) is a novel neuronal model in recent years. Previous studies have focused on training DNM using more appropriate algorithms. This paper proposes an improvement to DNM based on the activity of excitation and proposes three new models. Each of the three improved models are designed to mimic the excitation and inhibition activity of neurons. The improved model proposed in this paper is shown to be effective in the experimental part. All three models and original DNM have their own strengths, so it can be considered that the new model proposed in this paper well enriches the diversity of neuronal models and contributes to future research on networks models. Plant phenotyping studies the complex characteristics of plants, with the aim of evaluating and assessing their condition and finding better exemplars. Recently, a new branch emerged in the phenotyping field, namely, high-throughput phenotyping (HTP). Specifically, HTP exploits modern data sampling techniques to gather a high amount of data that can be used to improve the effectiveness of phenotyping. Hence, HTP combines the knowledge derived from the phenotyping domain with computer science, engineering, and data analysis techniques. In this scenario, machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) algorithms have been successfully integrated with noninvasive imaging techniques, playing a key role in automation, standardization, and quantitative data analysis. This study aims to systematically review two main areas of interest for HTP: hardware and software. For each of these areas, two influential factors were identified: for hardware, platforms and sensing equipment were analyzed; for software, the focus was on algorithms and new trends. The study was conducted following the PRISMA protocol, which allowed the refinement of the research on a wide selection of papers by extracting a meaningful dataset of 32 articles of interest. The analysis highlighted the diffusion of ground platforms, which were used in about 47% of reviewed methods, and RGB sensors, mainly due to their competitive costs, high compatibility, and versatility. Furthermore, DL-based algorithms accounted for the larger share (about 69%) of reviewed approaches, mainly due to their effectiveness and the focus posed by the scientific community over the last few years. Future research will focus on improving DL models to better handle hardware-generated data. Researchers contribute to the frontiers of knowledge by establishing facts and reaching new conclusions through systematic investigations, and by subsequently publishing the outcomes of their research findings in the form of research papers. These research publications are indicative of researchers' scientific impact. Different bibliometric indices have been proposed to measure the impact or productivity of a researcher. These indices include publication count, citation count, number of coauthors, h-index, etc. The h-index, since its inception, has been ranked as the foremost impact indicator by many studies. However, as a consequence of the various short comings identified in h-index, some variants of h-index have been proposed. For instance, one dimension which requires significant attention is determining the ability of exceptional performers in a particular research area. In our study, we have compared effectiveness of h-index and some of its recent variants in identifying the exceptional performers of a field. We have also found correlation of h-index with recently proposed indices. A high correlation indicates same effect of these indices as of h-index and low correlation means these indices make non-redundant contribution while ranking potential researchers of a field of study. So far, effectiveness of these indices has not been explored/validated on real data sets of same field. We have considered these variants/modifications of h-index along with h-index and tested on comprehensive data set for the field of Computer Science. Road crack detection is an important indicator of road detection. In real life, it is very meaningful work to detect road cracks. With the rapid development of science and technology, especially computer science and technology, quite a lot of methods have been applied to crack detection. Traditional detection methods rely on manual identification, which is inefficient and prone to errors. In addition, the commonly used image processing methods are affected by many factors, such as illumination, road stains, etc., so the results are unstable. In the research on pavement crack detection, many research studies mainly focus on the recognition and classification of cracks, lacking the analysis of the specific characteristics of cracks, and the feature values of cracks cannot be measured. Starting from the deep learning method in computer science and technology, this paper proposes a road crack detection technology based on deep learning. It relies on a new deep dictionary learning and encoding network DDLCN, establishes a new activation function MeLU, and adopts a new differentiable calculation method. The technology relies on the traditional Mask-RCNN algorithm and is implemented after improvement. In the comparison of evaluation indicators, the values of recall, precision, and F1-score reflect certain superiority. Automated generation of image captions is a demanding AI crisis as it necessitates the exploitation of numerous methods from diverse computer science fields. INTRODUCTION: The cultivation of vocational literacy of higher vocational computer students is related to the employment prospects of graduates and has a significant impact on the computer talent market. The success or failure of curriculum reform will directly impact the effect of cultivating professionalism in higher vocational computer majors. OBJECTIVES: This paper introduces the source and function of the C4.5 model, establishes model evaluation indexes to assess the application effect of the C4.5 model; the number of iterations and prediction accuracy are important indexes of the model's functioning and puts forward five measures suggestions for the reform of vocational literacy course of higher vocational computer majors. METHODS: C4.5 model is applied to reform vocational literacy courses for higher vocational computer majors, and the effect of practical implementation is evaluated using a questionnaire. RESULTS: By applying the C4.5 model to reform the vocational literacy course for senior computer majors, the graduates' vocational literacy has been significantly improved. Recently, the spread of fake images on social media platforms has become a significant concern for individuals, organizations, and governments. This paper also examines the different types of fake images and their challenges for detection. We then review the recent approaches proposed for detecting fake images, including digital forensics, machine learning, and deep learning. These approaches are evaluated in terms of their strengths and limitations, highlighting the need for further research. This paper also highlights the need for multimodal approaches that combine multiple sources of information, such as text, images, and videos. Fractional programming (FP) refers to a family of optimization problems whose objective function is a ratio of two functions. FP has been studied extensively in economics, management science, information theory, optic and graph theory, communication, and computer science, etc. This paper presents a bibliometric review of the FP-related publications over the past five decades in order to track research outputs and scholarly trends in the field. The reviews are conducted through the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED) database of the Web of Science Core Collection (Clarivate Analytics). Based on the bibliometric analysis of 1811 documents, various theme-related research indicators were described, such as the most prominent authors, the most commonly cited papers, journals, institutions, and countries. With the advancement of scientific collaboration in the 20th century, researchers started collaborating in many research areas. Researchers and scientists no longer remain solitary individuals; instead, they collaborate to advance fundamental understandings of research topics. Various bibliometric methods are used to quantify the scientific collaboration among researchers and scientific communities. Among these different bibliometric methods, the co-authorship method is one of the most verifiable methods to quantify or analyze scientific collaboration. In this research, the initial study has been conducted to analyze interdisciplinary research (IDR) activities in the computer science domain. The ACM has classified the computer science fields. We selected the Journal of Universal Computer Science (J.UCS) for experimentation purposes. The J.UCS is the first Journal of Computer Science that addresses a complete ACM topic. Using J.UCS data, the co-authorship network of the researcher up to the 2nd level was developed. Then the co-authorship network was analyzed to find interdisciplinary among scientific communities. Additionally, the results are also visualized to comprehend the interdisciplinary among the ACM categories. A whole working web-based system has been developed, and a forced directed graph technique has been implemented to understand IDR trends in ACM categories. Finally, the IDR values between the categories are computed to quantify the collaboration trends among the ACM categories. It was found that "Artificial Intelligence" and "Information Storage and Retrieval", "Natural Language Processing and Information Storage and Retrieval", and "Human-Computer Interface" and "Database Applications" were found the most overlapping areas by acquiring an IDR score of 0.879, 0.711, and 0.663, respectively. The gender gap in computer science (CS) research is a well-studied problem, with an estimated ratio of 15%–30% women researchers. However, far less is known about gender representation in specific fields within CS. Here, we investigate the gender gap in one large field, computer systems. To this end, we collected data from 72 leading peer-reviewed CS conferences, totalling 6,949 accepted papers and 19,829 unique authors (2,946 women, 16,307 men, the rest unknown). We combined these data with external demographic and bibliometric data to evaluate the ratio of women authors and the factors that might affect this ratio. Our main findings are that women represent only about 10% of systems researchers, and that this ratio is not associated with various conference factors such as size, prestige, double-blind reviewing, and inclusivity policies. Author research experience also does not significantly affect this ratio, although author country and work sector do. The 10% ratio of women authors is significantly lower than the 16% in the rest of CS. Our findings suggest that focusing on inclusivity policies alone cannot address this large gap. Increasing women's participation in systems research will require addressing the systemic causes of their exclusion, which are even more pronounced in systems than in the rest of CS. Extending metaphorically the Moisilean idea of ‘nuanced-reasoning logic’ and adapting it to the e-world age of Information Technology (IT), the paper aims at showing that new logics, already useful in modern software engineering, become necessary mainly for Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), despite obvious adversities. The first sections are typical for a position paper, defending such logics from an anthropocentric perspective. Through this sieve, Section 4 outlines the features asked for by the paradigm of computing as intelligent interaction, based on ‘nuances of nuanced-reasoning’, that should be reflected by agent logics. To keep the approach credible, Section 5 illustrates how quantifiable synergy can be reached - even in advanced challenging domains, such as stigmergic coordination - by injecting symbolic reasoning in systems based on sub-symbolic ‘emergent synthesis’. This study aims to analyse the work done in the field of Night Vision Robots using IR and Object Detection from 2011 to 2021, using the bibliometric methods. This paper presents a Scopus database review on "Night Vision Bot using Dynamic IR and Object Detection". The necessity for doing this bibliometric survey is that to know how the technology in the field of mobile robotics and night vision, as well as to object detection, has evolved over the years. This paper shows the importance of Night Vision Robot from the year 2011 and continued up to 2021 April. The database analysis for the robot is done through Scopus and VOSviewer Version 1.6.16. Through this database survey, it is revealed that the maximum number of publications are Conference Paper and most of them are from the field of Engineering and Computer Science, India has the greatest number of publications followed by China. Methods: The Scopus database was used to obtain the articles for the above topic. The research papers were considered from the year 2011 to 2021. The Scopus analyzer can be used for the analysis of the database with different categories like Source, Subject Area, Country, etc. The analysis such as co-authorship, co-occurrences, citation analysis etc. is done by using VOSviewer Version 1.6.16. Results: In the study, a total of 69 articles on Night Vision Robot were obtained between the years 2011 and 2021. The statistical analysis and network analysis shows that the maximum number of papers were published in the year 2020. India is the highest contributor followed by China and Australia. Conclusion: The outcome of the Scopus database is 69 articles with the English Language having the largest number of articles. The Statistic Analysis helps to understand the potential of topic. With the development of science and computer technology, social networks are changing our daily lives. However, this leads to new, often hidden dangers in areas such as cybersecurity. Of these, the most complex and harmful is the Advanced Persistent Threat attack (APT attack). The development of personality analysis and prediction technology provides the APT attack a good opportunity to infiltrate personality privacy. Malicious people can exploit existing personality classifiers to attack social texts and steal users' personal information. Therefore, it is of high importance to hide personal privacy information in social texts. Based on the personality privacy protection technology of adversarial examples, we proposed a Supervised Character Resemble Substitution personality adversarial method (SCRS) in this paper, which hides personality information in social texts through adversarial examples to realize personality privacy protection. The adversarial examples should be capable of successfully disturbing the personality classifier while maintaining the original semantics without reducing human readability. Therefore, this paper proposes a measure index of "label contribution" to select the words that are important to the label. At the same time, in order to maintain higher readability, this paper uses character-level resemble substitution to generate adversarial examples. Aim/Purpose This study aimed to evaluate the extant research on data science education (DSE) to identify the existing gaps, opportunities, and challenges, and make recommendations for current and future DSE. Background There has been an increase in the number of data science programs especially because of the increased appreciation of data as a multidisciplinary strategic resource. This has resulted in a greater need for skills in data science to extract meaningful insights from data. However, the data science programs are not enough to meet the demand for data science skills. While there is growth in data science programs, they appear more as a rebranding of existing engineering, computer science, mathematics, and statistics programs. Methodology A scoping review was adopted for the period 2010-2021 using six scholarly multidisciplinary databases: Google Scholar, IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and the AIS Basket of eight journals. The study was narrowed down to 91 research articles and adopted a classification coding framework and correlation analysis for analysis. Contribution We theoretically contribute to the growing body of knowledge about the need to scale up data science through multidisciplinary pedagogies and disciplines as the demand grows. This paves the way for future research to understand which programs can provide current and future data scientists the skills and competencies relevant to societal needs. Findings The key results revealed the limited emphasis on DSE, especially in non-STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines. In addition, the results identified the need to find a suitable pedagogy or a set of pedagogies because of the multidisciplinary nature of DSE. Further, there is currently no existing framework to guide the design and development of DSE at various education levels, leading to sometimes inadequate programs. The study also noted the importance of various stakeholders who can contribute towards DSE and thus create opportunities in the DSE ecosystem. Most of the research studies reviewed were case studies that presented more STEM programs as compared to non-STEM. Recommendations for Practitioners We recommend CRoss Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISPDM) as a framework to adopt collaborative pedagogies to teach data science. This research implies that it is important for academia, policymakers, and data science content developers to work closely with organizations to understand their needs. Recommendations for Researchers We recommend future research into programs that can provide current and future data scientists the skills and competencies relevant to societal needs and how interdisciplinarity within these programs can be integrated. Impact on Society Data science expertise is essential for tackling societal issues and generating beneficial effects. The main problem is that data is diverse and always changing, necessitating ongoing (up)skilling. Academic institutions must therefore stay current with new advances, changing data, and organizational requirements. Industry experts might share views based on their practical knowledge. The DSE ecosystem can be shaped by collaborating with numerous stakeholders and being aware of each stakeholder's function in order to advance data science internationally. Data Structures and Algorithms are a central part of Computer Science. Due to their abstract and dynamic nature, they are a difficult topic to learn for many students. To alleviate these learning difficulties, instructors have turned to algorithm visualizations (AV) and AV systems. Research has shown that especially engaging AVs can have an impact on student learning of DSA topics. Until recently, most AV systems were Java-based systems. But, the popularity of Java has declined and is being supplanted by HTML5 and JavaScript content online. In this paper, we present JSAV: the JavaScript AV development library. JSAV goes beyond traditional AV library support for displaying standard data structures components, to provide functionality to simplify creation of AVs on many engagement levels including interactive exercises. We describe the growing body of content created with JSAV and summarize our three years of experience and research results from using JSAV to build content that supports CS education.

Since the International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems published its first issue in 1993, it has made important contributions to the research field of computer science. In this study, based on the dataset of the publications published in this journal between 1993 and 2016 retrieved from Web of Science, a general overview of this journal is performed using bibliometric methods and visualized networks. First, the productive and influential publications, authors, institutions, countries/territories, and supraregions are analysed based on the total number of citations, publications, and different citation thresholds. Second, network visualization analysis is applied to illustrate the links and connections between terms by using the VOSviewer software. Moreover, the most cited journals and common author keywords of three continents, including North America, Europe, and Asia, are also presented. With the development of computer science technology, theory and method of image segmentation are widely used in fish discrimination, which plays an important role in improving the efficiency of fisheries sorting and biodiversity studying. However, the existing methods of fish images segmentation are less accurate and inefficient, which is worthy of in-depth exploration. Therefore, this paper proposes an atrous pyramid GAN segmentation network aimed at increasing accuracy and efficiency. This paper introduces an atrous pyramid structure, and the GAN module is added before the CNN backbone in order to augment the dataset. The Atrous pyramid structure first fuses the input and output of the dilated convolutional layer with a small sampling rate and then feeds the fused features into the subsequent dilated convolutional layer with a large sampling rate to obtain dense multiscale contextual information. Thus, by capturing richer contextual information, this structure improves the accuracy of segmentation results. In addition to the aforementioned innovation, various data enhancement methods, such as MixUp, Mosaic, CutMix, and CutOut, are used in this paper to enhance the model's robustness. This paper also improves the loss function and uses the label smoothing method to prevent model overfitting. The improvement is also tested by extensive ablation experiments. As a result, our model's F1-score, GA, and MIoU were tested on the validation dataset, reaching 0.961, 0.981, and 0.973, respectively. This experimental result demonstrates that the proposed model outperforms all the other contrast models. Moreover, in order to accelerate the deployment of the encapsulated model on hardware, this paper optimizes the execution time of the matrix multiplication method on Hbird E203 based on Strassen's algorithm to ensure the efficient operation of the model on this hardware platform. With the development of computer science and technology and the advancement of language teaching and learning methods, computer-assisted language learning technology has made it possible to solve this problem. In the area of oral learning, some computer-assisted language learning systems at home and abroad mainly focus on the learning of words and grammar and only have one or two evaluation indicators as the basis of evaluation, which have certain functional defects and can only give an overall rating to learners' pronunciation. To address these problems, this paper takes the English speech of Chinese college students as the research object and improves the traditional computerized English pronunciation quality evaluation method by considering multiplicative evaluation indexes, such as pitch, speed, rhythm, and intonation; i.e., pitch evaluation is based on frequency central feature parameters, speech speed evaluation based on speech duration, rhythm evaluation. Based on these criteria, the researcher tries to investigate that the study is carried out in the right direction which rest upon the credibility and essentiality of a content analysis of the literature accumulated for review. Purpose: To measure the significance of literature reviews and the effectiveness of content analysis as analytic tool for the present research theme "Document Similarity Measures on eresource Retrieval in agriculture and allied fields". Content analysis is expected to enhance systematic literature reviews of various inductively derived sub-fields of Information Retrieval implemented for accessing information and data in Agriculture and allied fields. Methodology: The present study is based on content analysis on reviews of 59 selected articles published between 1951 and 2020 that are retrieved after screening through the PRISMA software. Almost all related subtopics of Information Retrieval have been explored in the literature review compiled for the research topic. The analysis of the data is simultaneously supported with the data visualization by the application of the Tableau Desktop Public software. Findings: Each document is assessed based on the contents of the documents collected for the study viz. year of publication, name of journals, number of authors, name of authors, research area, methodology, number of references cited in each paper, country to which author(s) belong. Collaborative research mostly conducted by authors with specialization in computer science and data science is seen. Documents compiled for the present study comprised mostly of comparative studies among the different Information Retrieval Models. Also it has been judged in several documents the effectiveness of Vector Space Model over the other IR models simultaneously verifying that content analysis is an imperative tool to identify whether the literature review conducted so far is progressing in the appropriate direction. The main purpose of this study is to examine the implementation of active methodologies in the teaching–learning process in computer science. To achieve this objective, a systematic review using the PRISMA method was performed; the search for articles was conducted through the Scopus and Web of Science databases and the scientific search engine Google Scholar. By establishing inclusion and exclusion criteria, 15 research papers were selected addressing the use of various active methodologies which have had a positive impact on students' learning processes. Among the principal active methodologies highlighted are problem-based learning, flipped classrooms, and gamification. The results of the review show how active methodologies promote significant learning, in addition to fostering more outstanding commitment, participation, and motivation on the students' part. This paper explores the computational challenges of clique transversal problems in d-degenerate graphs, which are commonly encountered across theoretical computer science and various network applications. We examine d-degenerate graphs to highlight their utility in representing sparse structures and assess several variations of clique transversal problems, including the b-fold and { b } -clique transversal problems, focusing on their computational complexities for different graph categories. Our analysis identifies that certain instances of these problems are polynomial-time solvable in specific graph classes, such as 1-degenerate or 2-degenerate graphs. However, for d-degenerate graphs where d ≥ 2 , these problems generally escalate to NP-completeness. Electricity theft comes with various disadvantages for power utilities, governments, businesses, and the general public. This continues despite the various solutions employed to detect and prevent it. Some of the disadvantages of electricity theft include revenue loss and load shedding, leading to a disruption in business operations. This study aimed to conduct a systematic literature review to identify what technology solutions have been offered to solve electricity theft and the effectiveness of those solutions by considering peer-reviewed empirical studies. The systematic literature review was undertaken following the guidelines for conducting a literature review in computer science to assess potential bias. A total of 11 journal articles published from 2012 to 2022 in SCOPUS, Science Direct, and Web of Science were analysed to reveal solutions, the type of theft addressed, and the success and limitations of the solutions. The findings show that the focus in research is channelled towards solving electricity theft in Smart Grids (SGs) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI); moreover, there is a neglect in the recent literature on finding solutions that can prevent electricity theft in countries that do not have SG and AMI installed. Although the results reported in this study are confined to the analysed research papers, the leading limitation in the selected studies, lack of real-life data for dishonest users. The recognition that different aspects of the urban environment can affect individuals' mental health is growing, as they are responsible for facilitating or inhibiting behaviors and lifestyles that affect sentiment. The increasing availability of user-generated data on social media provides information about users and their surroundings, enabling sentiment analysis. This study investigates the global production of documents on sentiment analysis and the built environment, urban or city, published between 2009 and 2023. Bibliometric indicators on trends, most cited articles, authors, institutions, countries, funding agencies, and thematic research areas were analyzed. The bibliometrix library of R software was used for the performance analysis and the VOSviewer software for mapping scientific connections. A total of 728 eligible papers were identified from 2009 to June 2023. Most publications were computer science papers (n=487). This type of analysis provides researchers with guidance on the possible critical points that can be found in this field of research, as well as informs about the multiplicity of scientific research conducted globally so far by authors, countries, sources, allocated funding, and active institutions, allowing improving the production of documents on sentiment analysis concerning the urban environment. Searching over a sorted list is a classical problem in computer science. Binary Search takes at most log 2 ⁡ n + 1 tries to find an item in a sorted list of size n. Interpolation Search achieves an average time complexity of O (log ⁡ log ⁡ n ) for uniformly distributed data. Hybrids of Binary Search and Interpolation Search are also available to handle data with unknown distributions. This paper analyzes the computation cost of these methods and shows that interpolation can significantly affect their performance—accordingly, a new method, Interpolation Once Binary Search (IOBS), is proposed. There is a nationwide effort to increase the representation and engagement of minoritized students in computer science education. Discourse about the barriers to diversity among computer science majors is often characterized by student pathologies and does not consider the impacts of classroom culture and instructor pedagogies. Amid the push for strategies to recruit and retain minoritized students in computer science, little has been done to transform curriculum and analyze faculty perspectives on curriculum and pedagogy as methods to increase students' access to the computer science major. This paper presents an example of curriculum redesign for an undergraduate introductory computer science course (ICS) that sought to address issues of inequitable representation by centering student identities and redistributing power in favor of students. The authors draw upon critical sociocultural and the 4Es heuristic for disciplinary literacy to reimagine the ICS course as a space that centers on the important roles of identity and power in solving for diversity in computer science education. We highlight for researchers and practitioners how our work may be used to disrupt meritocratic practices that alienate minoritized and economically disadvantaged students and to expand definitions of mastery and expertise in computer science education. Social media platforms have completely revolutionized human communication and social interactions. Their positive impacts are simply undeniable. What has also become undeniable is the prevalence of harmful antisocial behaviors on these platforms. Cyberbullying, misinformation, hate speech, radicalization, and extremist propaganda have caused significant harms to society and its most vulnerable populations. Thus, the social media forensics field was born to enable investigators and law enforcement agents to better investigate and prosecute these cybercrimes. This paper surveys the latest research works in the field to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) techniques are being utilized in social media forensics investigations. We examine how natural language processing can be used to identify extremist ideologies, detect online bullying, and analyze deceptive profiles. Additionally, we explore the literature on GNNs and how they are applied in social network modeling for forensic purposes.
