Abstract

Geovisualization is an interdisciplinary field that combines cartography, geographic information science, computer science, psychology, and more. It involves representing spatial data in various ways, such as maps, animations, and interactive configurations, to explore relationships, patterns, and trends related to geographic entities and phenomena. This article presents eight contributions to the field, including topics such as urban planning, color in maps and art, spatial modeling, construction cost visualization, hydrological flow calculation, map-based data visualization, cartographic generalization, and historical cartographic data representation. The article highlights the challenges and opportunities in geovisualization and emphasizes its importance in conveying meaningful information in the era of big data and artificial intelligence.
