This paper analyses the broad characteristics of 186 research papers published and indexed in Scopus international multidisciplinary bibliographical database by the researchers and faculty of Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali during 2008-12 by focusing on its publication growth characteristics, format and media of communication, research impact and quality, patterns of research collaboration, broad and narrow areas of research and contribution and citation impact of its more productive authors [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper analyzes 2542 research publications of the five Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER) published during the last Five years (2010-14), as covered in SCOPUS International database. The study analyses characteristics of these publications such as the publication growth, research impact, national and international collaboration share, contribution and impact of authors and organizations, major areas of research, and preferred channels of research communications and characteristics of higher cited papers. The findings reveal that IISERs publications have witnessed an annual average growth rate of 34.92% and registered an average citation impact per paper of 9.90. About 33.39% and 30.80% of the IISERs publications were involved in national and international collaboration during 2010-14. The major areas of research of IISERs were chemistry, physics & astronomy, materials science and biochemistry, genetics & molecular biology with institutional share of 43.94%, 34.19%, 24.86% and 19.71% during 2010-14. About 153 significant authors of five IISERs individually published 10-60 publications and together they contributed 2446 publications, accounting for 96.22% share in the total output of IISERs during 2010-14. The IISERs published 1102 papers (with 43.35% share in total output) during 2010-14 in top 40 most productive journals with high impact factor varying from 0.72 to 11.36. About 50 high cited papers were published by these five IISERs, which have received 50 and above citations, Among these 50 papers, 41 papers received 50 to 100 citations, 7 papers 101-200 citations, 1 paper 401-500 citations and 1 paper 1001-1100 citations. Scopus is the largest bibliographic (abstract and citation) database of peer-reviewed literature launched in 2004 by Elsevier. In this study the research output of Dibrugarh University, a pioneer institute of higher education in North-East India is analysed based on data collected from Scopus database for thirty years i.e., from 1982 to 2020. A total of 1642 documents with the affiliation ID of Dibrugarh University. This study endeavours to visualize year wise distribution of publication and find out Annual Growth Rate (AGR), the most prolific author on the basis of H-index and number of publications, the top collaborating nations and affiliations with Dibrugarh University, the forms of documents of publication. The findings of the study reveal that highest number of publications 211 are in the current year of 2020 (12.85%) and least number of publications are in the year 1993 which is 1(0.061%). There is increase in the number of publications from 1.035% to 12.85%. Bhuyan, PK is the most productive author with 85 publications and 18 h-index. Bora, U is ranking first on the basis of h-index (20). Dibrugarh University has highest collaboration with Indian authors (685 publications) with a frequency of collaboration of 0.95, which is followed by Germany with 6 publications (0.0083) and Korea with 5 publications ((0.0069). Unlike any university Dibrugarh University has maximum number of self-collaborations with 2731 publications, this is followed by collaboration with Tezpur University with 118 publications. The present study focused on the research publications of women faculty in the field of physics, Astrophysics, Astronomy and Atmospheric Science in India. To collect the data we have covered the women faculty of Central Universities, State Universities, IITs, NITs, IISER's, NISER's, research institutes, laboratories and some selected deemed universities. The first fact we found was that the number of women were very less as compare to male staff. To see the publication productivity of women authors we tried to analyze the year-wise productivity, authorship pattern, preferred journals, place and designation and the research papers received highest citations for the period of five years from 2011- 2015. Year 2014 found to be the most productive year and in authorship pattern, women authors preferred to publish their research in collaboration. Various policies have been adopted worldwide for the upliftment of research work in higher education. The current paper is a study of initiatives taken by University Grant Commission (UGC), which is a statutory body set up by Indian Union Government to maintain the standards of higher education in India. The paper studied the quality journal list published by UGC-Consortium for Academic and Research Ethics (UGC CARE) in LIS discipline. Top 20 journals has been analysed from the list in accordance to their ranking in Scimago journal ranking list. The articles are analysed as the most prolific author, prolific institute, most cited paper and country wise publication. Keyword analysis is also done where the most used keywords are found to be- bibliometric (355), social media (222) and citation analysis (219). Knowledge sharing among students often yields positive dividends. It facilitates the harmonization of learning and the creation of new knowledge. The paper sought to evaluate the knowledge-sharing practices of student-teachers in Colleges of Education in Ghana. Specifically, the paper set out to find out the attitude of student-teachers toward knowledge sharing; investigate factors that inhibit knowledge sharing; assess the type of information they shared and explored the mode through which student-teachers preferred to share information. The study employed the descriptive research design and engaged a total population of 600 student-teachers in the Colleges of education in Ghana. Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 22.0 (SPSS V22) was used to analyze the data. The study revealed that majority of the respondents agreed knowledge sharing should be done willingly with their mates. It was also discovered that factors such as lack of confidence, low self-esteem, and inadequate peer interaction inhibited knowledge sharing. Similarly, reputation, self-efficacy, interpersonal trust and personality traits were found to be factors that promoted knowledge sharing. It also came to the fore that student-teachers shared all kinds of information including any newsworthy information to PowerPoint downloaded from the internet. Additionally, student-teachers preferred face-to-face, group discussion, and classroom as modes of sharing knowledge compared to the use of emails, Facebook, WhatsApp and ZOOM/MOOCS/DUO. The study concluded that student-teachers in Colleges of Education in Ghana have positive attitude toward knowledge sharing due to the numerous benefits that knowledge sharing has. The study therefore, recommends that Colleges of Education in Ghana must be intentional about hammering out formal and informal ways of sharing knowledge among student-teachers and publicizing knowledge-sharing policy. The present paper attempts to determine the National education policy 2020 and role of library and information centers. However, these prospects have not been revealed clearly in NEP. However, libraries with quality collection digital resources must communicate quality education. According to NEP 2020, several educational levels will be introduced, including fundamental education, preparatory education, middle education, secondary education, under-graduation, post-graduation education stage, Research Stage and Lifelong learning stage. NEP has emphasized the significance of libraries in a number of areas, including the preservation of national heritage and the promotion of reading culture. Higher education in recent years has witnessed dynamic changes due to the Coronavirus pandemic to the extent that a new term, 'new normal,' originated. In this regard, teaching and learning processes have significantly become dependent on digital technologies to warrant emphasis being laid on digital literacy skills, which many learners lack. In order words, the growing prominence of the Internet and other digital environments as educational tools requires research regarding learners' digital literacy and the role of librarians in supporting learning in the new normal. Digital literacy is the learners' ability to locate, organise, understand, evaluate, and create information using digital technology effectively for everyday tasks. Due to academia's lack of involvement in research, development, and innovation activities, there is a tremendous amount of talent underutilised in Indian engineering educational institutions. Indian engineering educational institutions confront numerous obstacles that limit their participation in research. Lack of funding, a tight budget, poor fund allocation, a weak research ecosystem, fewer opportunities for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research, a decline in PhD enrolment, over-centralization, a lack of accountability, transparency, and bureaucratic structures have all contributed to an increase in the administrative workload at universities, which has diluted their primary emphasis on research. The K J Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology (KJSIEIT), an engineering educational institute in India, is the subject of a research case study in this paper that addresses the challenges of Indian engineering institutes' limited involvement in research development and innovation. KJSIEIT's efforts to establish a research culture have demonstrated this by launching practises for research, development, and innovation such as strong hand holding for idea implementation, building incubator and start-up support systems, constant encouragement for increased research involvement, hands-on training for start-ups, applying for and competing for government funding, working on industry collaborative, societal, need-based, educational, agricultural and healthcare. The paper examines an assessment of the resources and services provision for the disabled library users in University of Ilorin and Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo. The study adapted the qualitative research approach in order to carry out the investigation. The population for this study consisted of all the disabled library patrons in University of Ilorin and Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo. The purposive sampling was used to select sample for this study. Three data gathering instruments consisting of questionnaires, observation and interview were used in this study. Data were analysed using frequency and percentages findings of the study showed that the deaf constitute 126%, follow by the dumb which is 84%. While others are the least in the University of Ilorin and Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo. Most of the disabled library users indicated that the resources and services of the library are accessible in Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo unlike that of university of Ilorin. SCI mago is the Journal and Country Ranking database available freely on the internet. We have accessed the required data from 2008 to 2017 from this database and evaluated the research productivity of SAARC countries and citations in the field of social science subject. This article studied SAARC countries publications, citations, citations per document, selfcitations and degree of self - citations. The study revealed that on an average 6054 articles are published during the study period. India is the only country to publish more than the average citations publications during the ten years of study. India received 78% of citations and stood 1st rank in the study, whereas Pakistan and Bangladesh got 8% and 6% citations and stood 2nd and 3rd rank. Nepal got highest 76% of citations per document and stood 1st rank among the SAARC countries in the last ten years from 2008 to 2017. Further, it is found that the degree of self-citation is 0.24, which is very lowest. Since all the SAARC countries are underdeveloped so it is suggested that the government of SAARC countries has to encourage more and more publications, then only their socio-economic level may increase. The purpose of this study is to investigate the development and management of local contents in institutional repositories (IR) in tertiary institution libraries in Nigeria. The study adopted a survey research method. Online questionnaire and IR site investigation methods were used to collect data from 20 university libraries in Nigeria. The study revealed that no single College of Education, or Polytechnic library in Nigeria have embraced development of IR. Only 20 university libraries have successfully developed IRs to manage local contents emanating from the universities. The majority of the institutional repositories contain primarily theses and dissertations, journal articles and conference proceedings. DSpace was the most preferred software used in the various IRs to manage local contents, and lack of fund, inadequate facilities, absence of IR policies, and challenge of collecting contents from various contributors were the most mentioned challenges encountered in the development of IRs in Nigeria. The results from the study will provide important data and insight into the development of institutional repositories in tertiary institution libraries in Nigeria, and generate suggestions for librarians, and policymakers for developing institutional repositories in developing countries. The project will enable university libraries in Nigeria provide world class services by making their local contents visible globally. Library Associations play an important role in the promotion of librarianship as a profession vital to an informed and knowledgeable society. This paper discusses the importance of research in LIS, and considers the role of professional association in recognizing, enabling and promoting a research cul ture amongst qualified professionals. It shows that if the library profession is to grow and thrive as a true profession, demonstrating not only typical practice, but also considered scholarly approaches to the issues of its day, then its commitment in apt and relevant research practice is indispensable. Throughout the world professional associations put substantial emphasis on the professional development of LIS community through fostering research. The Pakistan Library Association has inadequately realised its active research role in LIS and librarianship profession. As literature shows that it should be dedicated to motivate and facilitate its professional towards research activities. The PLA needs to affirm that research in LIS is fundamental to a growing educated society, culture, education and economy in the country. This paper addresses various contributing factors, problems and solutions for bringing up positive change in the professional culture through research. The study suggests that PLA needs to maintain well-resourced library network and information systems for LIS, well placed to meet the research demands and opportunities for the future. The work is on library instruction programme as a correlate of undergraduate students' Utilization of Library Materials in Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Nigeria. The research design used for this study is ex-post facto research design. The population comprises all the undergraduates in Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo. Simple random and stratified random sampling technique was employed for the study. One hundred and twenty users were sampled from the programme in all the schools (strata) in the college through library access. Out of 120 copies of the questionnaire administered to the students in Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, 114 (99%) were returned and used for the analysis. The researchers collected the data through face-to-face administration of questionnaire. Five research questions and two hypotheses were used for the study. The data generated were interpreted using percentages and frequencies; mean and standard deviation through Likert scaling of the responses where applicable. Based on this result, the students' knowledge about the methods of Library Instruction Programmes (LIP) course in Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo are classroom teaching, library orientation, library guide and ask a librarian. It was inferred that the students' rate of understanding of the Library Instruction Programme topics is high and the rate of students' use of Library resources in Adeyemi College of Education Library is low. The challenges that students experience during Library Instruction Programme course in Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo are non utilization of ICT for library instruction, inadequate classroom for library instruction, shortage of staff (librarians) to instruct students, lack of interest in library instruction programme among others. The paper concluded that students in Adeyemi College of Education understand some of the concepts of Library Instruction Programme (LIP) without any basis on gender differences. However, the services in the library were under explored. It was therefore recommended that librarians should sensitize the users more on the services provided in the library for optimal satisfaction of the users. And that the challenges of the students in the course LIP should be tackled by the lecturers and college authority for the benefits of getting desired results in the students' knowledge of the course for maximal utilization of the library resources. The study investigated the influence of library environment and user education on undergraduates' use of the college main library at the college of education warri. The study adopted the survey research design and the population consisted of 10,000 regular undergraduates in five faculties from which a sample size of 400 respondents was selected, using a random sampling technique. The research instrument used for data collection was a self-developed questionnaire while data were analyzed using frequency distribution, percentages. The research finding disclosed the customer education methods were library orientation for fresh learners and use of library course with guided library tour. In order to study and read for exams, most undergraduates used the library daily or weekly. That college library environment was defined by excellent library building, but insufficient technological equipment to be used for electronic sources and bad network / internet connectivity to access electronic databases were some of the main problems of using the college library. The research discovered a substantial connection between autonomous factors (library environment and customer education) and dependent variable (database use); whereas both library environment and customer education contributed jointly and independently to library use among graduates. In order to sensitize more learners and draw their attention to the accessible resources and facilities, the college library environment (both inner and external) should be produced more conducive to attracting customers to the library at all times. The findings reveal that all topics of the LIS subject incorporated in the UGC-NET examination syllabus are covered in the Wikipedia. Education is something that is valued more each and every day. A growing number of people in today's society realize the importance of education and the increasing need to return to school. As the number of adult learners continues to rise, so too does the need to reach out to this population to make sure they are being presented with the appropriate tools and resources needed to succeed. Because it is theorized that adults (those age 25+) who return to school are likely to enroll in a community college, rather than a four year university, this study looks specifically at community colleges in Massachusetts in an effort to judge what is being done to help this often overlooked population, as well as what could be improved. To make this determination, a brief survey was sent to 25 reference librarians at 13 different Massachusetts community colleges. They results of the survey were then analyzed, along with previously written literature on this topic. The survey confirmed earlier findings that adult learners commonly struggle with issues of a technological nature. These issues include troubles using computers and the internet, as well as using word processing software, and databases. To help adult learners succeed, collaboration is a key component. This collaboration should extend to the information technology department, department heads, librarians, instructors, information literacy coordinators, and most importantly, the student. Communication between all of these groups is needed to ensure the success of adult learners. This paper will explore these barriers, as well as other obstacles adult learners face, and also provide further recommendations as to what can be done to help this growing population of students. The article reports on the growing presence of institutional repositories (IR) and the information, communication, and technology (ICT) sector in Bangladesh between 2003 and 2011. It presents a specific definition of an institutional repository and analyzes the digital resources of various universities in Bangladesh including BRAC University, East West University (EWU) and Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). Other topics discussed include the objectives of each university library head in expanding the IR resources, forecasts for future research organization IRs, and how the open access movement could contribute to economic growth in Bangladesh.

The library is a knowledge center where all the resources, regardless of print and e-resources are made available to the user. E-resources are the backbone of any digital library in this information superfluous era. Most of the modern library users are referring e-resources for their learning, teaching and research activities. Remote login access to e-resources is the best practice of any library which helps the users to access their desired information wherever they stay without wasting time. It gives an opportunity for the best use of the e-resources and offers easy access to various resources of the library through its interface from anywhere. In this study, an attempt has been made to understand the perception of users of the remote access facility provided by the Health Sciences Library, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. The main aim of the study is to determine the satisfaction level of users about the remote access facility provided by the library. A questionnaire-based survey was conducted. Questionnaires were sent to 187 registered users of remote access service of the library. The study has identified the various benefits of remote access facility and the problems faced by the registered users to access subscribed e-resources remotely. In this paper I studied the status and usage of library resources and services and library use opinion about library working hours, library physical facilities, library information sources and service of K L (Koneru Lakshmaiah Educational Foundation) University, Vijayawada. The study examined User feedback on the elements influencing the efficiency of resources, services, and facilities offered by higher education institutions' libraries. This study distributed 1164 questionnaires and received responses of 1030, the overall response percentage is 88. The survey found that the response rate varied between 71 and 100 among teachers, 68 and 91 percent among research scholars, and 84 and 95 percent among postgraduate students. The study found that the majority of students visit the library once a week. The study reveals that the majority of the users (nearly 96%) responded positively and expressed their view that the existing timings as convenient to avail the library facility on the campus. The study highlighted that the majority of library users responded as somewhat effective about factors contributing to the effectiveness of facilities, services, and resources provided by higher education Institutional libraries. The study recommended that library personnel be proactive in their interactions with library patrons and assist them in finding effective solutions to information-related difficulties. The study investigated the extent of involvement of planning and coordination practices for conflict management in college of education libraries in south-east and south-south Nigeria. Descriptive survey design was employed in the study while two research questions were answered. The population and sample of 528 members of colleges of education library staff in South East and South-South, Nigeria was used for the study using a non-randomized purposive sampling method. A structured questionnaire titled Planning and Coordination Practices for Conflict Management in Libraries Questionnaire (PCPCMLQ) was used for the study. The instrument was face and content validated through consultation with three Veteran Researchers in Library and Information Science, Educational Psychology and Measurement and Evaluation from University of Nigeria Nsukka and Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka. Pearson's Product Moment Correlation was used to obtain a reliability co-efficient, r = 0.88, which confirmed the instrument is consistent in its measurement. Mean, ..., and Standard deviation, SD. The results revealed among others that, to a high extent, coordination is carried out as a conflict management practice to enhance service delivery in college of education libraries. The study investigated lecturers' perception and participation on e-learning platform in Michael Otedola College of Primary Education in Lagos State during COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. This is to ascertain the level of lecturers' perception and participation on the use of the college e-learning platforms. The descriptive research design was adopted, while total enumeration was used to select respondents for the study. A structured questionnaire tagged "Lecturers' Perception and Participation in E-learning learning platform in Michael Otedola College of Primary Education during COVID-19 Pandemic Lockdown (LPPMOCPEC19PL) with the reliability coefficient of 0.87 was used for data collected. Four research questions were answered in the course of the study. The result showed that lecturers' perception in e-learning is high and their level of participation is also high in e-learning during CIVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Electricity supply, system breakdown and financial constrain were identified as factors militating against the use of the platform, while there is significant relationship between lecturers' perception and participation e-learning platform. In recent years, there has been a groundswell of interest on how computers and the internet can best be harnessed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of education and training in both formal and informal settings. For effective and modern information services, the use of information and communication technology is indispensable. Not only does ICT introduce new ways of information handling in universities, it also brings about change in the very structure of information and its communication concepts like universal bibliography, accessibility to and availability of documents irrespective of location, highly personalized services, matching users needs interests with document databases, full text searches, storage and retrieval with speed and accuracy etc. As such students will be able to benefit maximally when the electronic services are in order and the lecturers attend to them appropriately. Unfortunately what we observe in our tertiary institutions as regards to ICT instructional mode is unpleasant. The main methods of teaching up till now remain the marker and talk in spite of curricular changes, scientific and technological inventions including ICT has not taken effect. The situation is almost the same in universities and the colleges of education, instruction is mainly through dictation of notes and giving out handouts a situation whereby many students copy lots of notes from their lecturers both in their teaching subjects, general studies as well as education. This work tackles the need to evaluate and identify fresh assessment techniques utilized in LIS education during and after the COVID-19 epidemic. It investigates the impact of digital media, feedback, formative assessments, and concerns such as cheating and authenticity, providing critical insights for future assessment practises in the post-pandemic period. Accordingly, there is a pressing need to employ new assessment tools post-pandemic to adapt to online and hybrid learning challenges. This qualitative study investigates complex social phenomena in higher education assessments by exploring behaviours, preferences, beliefs, customs, attitudes, viewpoints, and experiences. Twelve LIS instructors, 6 teaching and learning administrators, and 20 LIS students from South Africa and Nigeria were chosen using convenience sampling. Key informant interviews were conducted, with constructivist learning orientation-driven questions examining new assessment technologies, the role of digital media in student assessment, authenticity concerns in e-assessment, feedback and formative assessments. The research concludes that incorporating Computer-Based Learning (CLT) in e-assessments for LIS education enhances students' knowledge construction and accessibility. Digital examinations offer benefits like instant feedback and personalized learning experiences, leading to improved problem-solving skills and decision-making. The article presents the results of research on the potential use of impact factors (IF) as a means of assessing the performance of academic librarians in Nigeria. An overview of related previous studies is provided, along with details of the research protocol, which involved a survey of 41 librarians at the University of Nigeria's Nsukka and Enugu campuses. It was found that the librarians did not favor the use of IF as a means of judging performance, due to factors such as the lack of internationally ranked journals which publish significant amounts of work by Nigerian researchers, and Nigeria's relative disadvantages in terms of research funding and infrastructure.

The article focuses on the strategy of the faculty of the Division of German Language and Literature in the Department of Modern Languages of the University of Utah to collaborate with librarians to address the gap in information literacy for German language in Utah. It notes the advantage of the initiative since it enables the division to assist graduate students in finding the information they need. The division also provides students with materials to study for their examination.

The study examined the utilization of library resources and services by academic staff of Federal College of Education (special) Oyo, Oyo state, Nigeria. The participants included all the academic staff of the college from the seven schools. In terms of geographical scope, the study was limited to Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo. Descriptive survey design was adopted. The study population comprised 415 academic staff of the college. Total enumeration technique was employed and the instrument used to obtain data from the respondents was a selfconstructed questionnaire. Descriptive statistics such as frequency counts, percentages, mean and standard deviation was used in analyzing the data. Findings of the study showed that textbooks (251, 75.5%, mean = 1.89), journals (237, 71.0%, mean = 1.71), dictionaries (231, 69.2%, mean = 1.59) and newspapers (187, 56.0%, Mean = 1.37) were the most prominent types of library information materials available. It was reported that majority of the respondents were aware of the availability of the information materials but not aware of the availability of e-books (133, 39.8%), e-journals (119, 35.6%), audio-visual materials (105, 31.4%), manual (67, 20.1%) and assistive listening devices (67, 20.1%). In addition, the respondents used library information materials for research and other purposes (251, 75.1%, mean= 1.76). It was also revealed that the respondents were satisfied with information materials in general subject (242, 72.5%), rather than in their various fields of interest (136, 40.7%); attitude of library personnel in rendering services (218, 65.3%) and quality of library services (199, 59.6%) respectively. Poor Internet access (265, 79.3%, mean = 3.16), lack of adequate library information resources on their fields of study (251, 75.1%, mean = 3.07) and inadequate up-to-date resources (235, 70.4%, mean = 2.95) were the most prominent challenges. The study investigated the factors that influence library usage by students with disabilities at United College of Education in Zimbabwe. The study employed a qualitative approach. Interviews were held with sixteen students with disabilities, the chief librarian, two library assistants, and one library intern. Data were also collected through observations. Results reveal that great effort has been made to provide inclusive library services to students with disabilities; however, challenges remain. These include: physical inaccessibility of the library to students living with disabilities, lack of infrastructure to support available assistive technologies, information resources that do not accommodate students living with disabilities, and staff that is not adequately trained to handle users with disabilities. The study contributes to global debate about provision of library services to people living with disabilities from a Zimbabwean perspective. Management practices adopted by the colleges of education administrators who are primarily posted to children library section in enhancing ICT seem to be poor. The study examined the challenges associated with the management practices. We adopted a descriptive research design. A total of 73 respondents (Seven Children Library Administrators and 66 ICT officers) were used as the study sample. One instrument was used for collection of data. The respondents were administered the instrument with the help of five brief research assistants. Data analysis was completed using mean and standard deviation for research questions and ztest was used to test the hypotheses. The researchers found that library administrators are facing some challenges in enhancing ICT in the Children library sections of Colleges of Education. It was also found that there was no significant difference between the Children library administrators and the ICT officers on the two hypotheses. The researchers concluded that Children library administrators should adopt certain strategies that will curb the challenges facing the enhancement of ICT in Children libraries for the effectiveness of the college libraries. The governments of emerging economies have realized the potential of MOOCs for enhancing the quality of higher education, but still, the MOOC penetration is very low in countries like India. This study explores the issues relating to MOOC integration and attempts to identify the key drivers for the adoption of MOOC based curriculum. 'Integration into Curriculum', 'MOOC Services of Academic Library', and 'MHRD Policy and Support' are identified as the key drivers for increasing the MOOC Penetration. The higher the level of MOOC penetration the greater would be the improvement in the quality of higher education. Reference services are personal assistance given to library users in their search for information and these services are most likely patronized by those who are aware of them, hence, this study investigated the awareness and patronage of library reference services among undergraduate students in Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo State, Nigeria. The study adopted survey design and a multistage sampling technique was used to select 370 undergraduate for the study. Questionnaire was used for data collection and was administered to 370 respondents out of which, 317 copies were found useful for the study. The research questions were answered using simple frequency, percentage and mean statistics. Findings of the study revealed that although the undergraduates were generally aware of the reference services, they were unaware of SDI, digital reference and reprographic services. Also, apart from user education and CAS, the patronage of other reference services in this study was low. Inadequate reference sources and poor human relation of library staff were the main challenges of reference services patronage. It was therefore, recommended that funds set aside for the acquisition of reference sources should be utilized, and management should invest on ICTs and human resources. While staff with the right mindset for service provision should be identified and deployed to the reference section to attract more patronage for reference services in particular and the library in general. The study attempted to understand the University students' digital reading habits and their related skills. It also has a view of students' preferred sources of reading, whether physical or digital resources. For this study, we conducted a survey study with students and research scholars of the Central University of Tamil Nadu, India. The instrument was a structured questionnaire distributed with various modes. The result found that the majority of the students are well known about digital tools and usage, most of the students are excellent in digital literacy skills and other findings is however they are good in digital literacy even though they like to read print books is their most favorable preference. The results conclude that whatever technological devices are developed and students have also grown their technical knowledge. This study was designed to determine the access to and utilization of online databases by postgraduate students of the faculties of education of the six foremost universities in Nigeria. The study sought to ascertain the online databases accessed by the most of the students, factors influencing regularity of access and constraints to access regular access to the databases. A total of 365 postgraduate students were randomly drawn from the six universities by proportional allocation for the study. Questionnaire was used to obtain relevant data which were analyzed using multiple responses and binary logistic regression. The most accessed online databases were Google Scholar, ResearchGate, JSTOR, Science DOAJ and EBSCOHost, motivated by free access and relevance to research interests. The documents were mainly used for postgraduate dissertation/thesis and assignments. Sex, degree in-view, free access, finance, personal laptop and Smartphone, and helpfulness of research materials significantly influenced regularity of access. The males are 0.963 times more likely to access online databases regularly than the females while the PhD students are 1.041 times more likely to access online databases more regularly than the other postgraduate categories. It is recommended that the universities should subscribe to notable online databases and improve on the quality of institution-based internet facility to boost access to and of online databases. The Study examined the use of Electronic Resources in Engineering College Libraries in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, India. In this study collecting primary data for the present study, the investigator adopted the survey method. The tool employed for collecting data is questionnaire. The questionnaire is designed in such a way to collect the data from the library users (faculty members) of engineering college libraries. Qquestionnaires were circulated among 890 library users out of whom 705 responses were received representing 79% of the total sample to whom the questionnaire was distributed. It is evident from the analysis that 448 (63.54%) majority of respondents are male users, 379 (53.75%) majority of respondent users are Assistant Professors, 259 (36.73%) majority of respondents visit the library on a daily basis, 631 (89.50%) respondents who feel that the library had convenient working hours. The study found that majority of user's visits library for borrowing books, reference books and electronic journals. The study found that majority of users use IEEE, SCOPUS, Springer, NPTEL services. The study found that highly satisfied with IEEE facility, DELNET facility, NPTEL Videos and 419 (59.43%) are not availing the facility of CMIE Prowess. Finally the study suggested that the users are not aware of about some electronic information resources, so the engineering college libraries will conduct information literacy programmes on electronic resources. In this context the present study is aimed to see the status of under graduate colleges of Assam and their attached libraries with special reference to Lakhimpur district of the state of Assam. The limited literature on problem based learning (PBL) in the context of Ghana instigates the doubt as to whether universities in the country apply this educational strategy. To clear this doubt, the present study is conducted to outline the experiences and review the resources that are inclined to the environments of PBL, using survey data from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Survey participants were educational managers, teachers and students of the university. In the results, the researchers identified experiences among teachers and students that agree with the principles of PBL. The participants largely admitted that the university has insufficient support for PBL in terms of human and infrastructural resources. Content expert teachers constitute the only human resource, yet they lack the requisite training for facilitating PBL. At higher education front, Himachal Pradesh has been focusing on delivering quality education and research. Currently, the state has over 25 prominent institutions which are dealing with higher education. In this study, an effort is being made to know the research output of the 10 prominent institutions of the state. The data for the period from 2001 to 2015 were extracted from the Scopus. The analysis for assessing the total number of publications, citations, cited rate, an average annual growth rate of publications was derived for an individual institute. The degree of author collaboration for each institute was also assessed. On basis of quantity (Publications) and quality (Citations received) of research output, a ranking of studied institutions was also derived. The study assessed professional development programmes available for Polytechnic Library staff in Ghana, and examined their prospects and challenges. The survey method was employed and quantitative approach was adopted for the study which involved only professional Library and para-professional staff of the Polytechnics in Ghana. Out of 80 copies of questionnaire sent out, 72 were retrieved representing a response rate of 90%. The study revealed that most of the staff were aware of the term "professional development". They also confirmed that knowledge they acquired through professional development had also improved on their work performance considerably. Again, the study showed that Library staff had attended several professional development programmes which included workshops, seminars and conferences. Furthermore, the study revealed that professional development programmes were associated with challenges such as lack of finance and inadequate budget. However, the study recommends that Head Librarians should continue to allow staff to participate in workshops, seminars and training especially on the use of the electronic resources in the Library. Again, Head Librarians should liaise with the various Library committees to enforce the regulation by National Council for Tertiary Education for all tertiary libraries to benefit from 10% of the Academic Facility User Fee(AFUF) to enable them manage the libraries more effectively.
