The genus Latibulus Gistel, 1848 (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) is taxonomically reviewed in Iran. Specimens were collected using Malaise traps in the Isfahan province, during 2013–2015. Two species, Latibulus argiolus (Rossi, 1790) (spring form) and Latibulus orientalis (Horstmann, 1987) (summer form) are identified, of which L. orientalis is a new record for the fauna of Iran. In addition, L. argiolus is recorded from central part of Iran (Isfahan) for the first time. The geographical distribution of the recorded species in relation to the overall knowledge in the target area and adjacent regions is also discussed.

The torquaratorid enteropneust Quatuoralisia malakhovi Ezhova et Lukinykh in Ezhova, Lukinykh, Galkin, Krylova, et Gebruk, 2022 has been known only by the type material from the bathyal zone at depths of 1957–2289 m on the slopes of the submarine Piip Volcano in the Volcanologists Massif, southwestern Bering Sea. In this study, fragments of soft-bodied animals were obtained among trawled material from the bathyal zone in the Japan Trench, about 41.51° N, 144.13° E, at depths of 1987–2007 m during the cruise KH-22-8 of the R/V Hakuho-maru in October 2022. Partial sequences of the mitochondrial 16S rRNA gene from two fragments showed a 100% match with the ones determined from the type series of Q. malakhovi, suggesting conspecificity among them. This study broadens the known geographic distribution range of Q. malakhovi by ~2500 km southwestward. This is also the first record of the species as well as the family Torquaratoridae from Japanese waters. In total, the Hakuho-maru cruise KH-22-8 yielded four species of acorn worms in the Japan Trench (all represented by body fragments), including Q. malakhovi and two unidentified species in the family Harrimaniidae (briefly reported in this paper, about 40.80° N, 144.51° E, 6800 m, and 40.70° N, 144.68° E, 7000 m) in addition to Stereobalanus sp. (previously reported in another paper, about 40.80° N, 144.65° E, 7400 m). The subfamily Alysiinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) is one of the most peculiar and diverse groups of endoparasitoids of Diptera. The present paper provides additional information on the subfamily Alysiinae in Iran. The specimens were collected using Malaise traps during May - September 2010. The genus Grammospila Foerster, 1863, and four species of Alysiini were discovered for the first time from Iran: Grammospila fuscula Griffiths, 1968, G. rufiventris Nees, 1812, Dacnusa maculipes Thomson, 1895 and D. plantaginis Griffiths, 1966. Including our findings, the number of species of the genera Dacnusa and Grammospila are raised to 22 and 2 species in Iran, respectively. Dipsacus gmelinii is here reported as a new addition to the vascular flora of Bulgaria. It was recorded on Belene Island, in the Danube River. In the present paper, the species is described morphologically with an emphasis on carpomorphological characters. The distinctive differences from related species of the genus are also highlighted. Additionally, ecological conditions and floristic composition at the localities of the species, and phytosociological relationships of the communities in which it participates are discussed. Six vibrant coloured Sweeper fish or pempherid, Pempheris malabarica were collected from Digha Mohana of West Bengal and Chandipur fish landing centre of Odisha coast. For the first time this paper reports the family Pempheridae from West Bengal coast and occurrence of species P. malabarica in Odisha coast. New faunistic and taxonomic data are provided for 18 families of Iranian spiders. Four species, Cryptodrassus liyanicus Zamani & Marusik, sp. n. (♀, Bushehr Province; Gnaphosidae), Mesiotelus khorasanicus Zamani & Marusik, sp. n. (♂♀, Razavi Khorasan Province; Liocranidae), Nurscia minuscula Zamani & Marusik, sp. n. (♀, West Azerbaijan Province; Titanoecidae) and Talanites farsensis Zamani & Marusik, sp. n. (♀, Fars Province; Gnaphosidae), are described as new to science. Clubiona liachviana Mcheidze, 1997 stat. reval. (Clubionidae) is removed from the synonymy with C. alpicola Kulczyński, 1882 and is reported from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan for the first time; additionally, its previously unknown male is described. The genus Kishidaia Yaginuma, 1960 (Gnaphosidae) and a total of 10 species are recorded in Iran for the first time, and new provincial records are provided for 20 species. This paper contains descriptions and illustrations of five new species of the genus Aulacocentrum Brues, 1922, from Vietnam, viz. Aulacocentrum assitum Long & Pham, sp. nov. ; A. glabrum Long, sp. nov. ; A. imparum Long & van Achterberg, sp. nov. ; A. intermedium Long & van Achterberg, sp. nov. ; and A. simulatum Long, sp. nov. Additionally, Aulacocentrum seticella van Achterberg & He is newly recorded for Vietnam's braconid fauna. Background: Chrysochroinae Laporte de Castelnau, 1835 is the very colourful subfamily of Buprestidae. There are 127 species and subspecies of the subfamily which have been recorded in China. New information: In this paper, we reported three genera, two subgenera and five species of the subfamily Chrysochroinae Laporte de Castelnau, 1835 (Coleoptera, Buprestidae) which are all newly recorded from China. These reported taxa belong to two tribes and four genera: Chrysochroa (Chroodema) corbetti (Kerremans, 1893), Chrysochroa (Pyranthe) fulgens ephippigera White, 1843, Demochroa (Demoxantha) gratiosa indica Csiki, 1900, Xanthocata bonvouloirii (Deyrolle, 1861) (all the above four being Chrysochroini) and Cardiaspis mouhotii E. Between September 2019 and December 2023, a total of 612 wild birds representing 16 orders, 33 families, 60 genera, and 78 species from nine provinces of Iran with different climates namely Hamedan (n = 54), Sistan-va-Baluchestan (n = 372), Kerman (n = 73), South Khorasan (n = 52), Mazandaran (n = 7), Chaharmahal-va-Bakhtiari (n = 2), Gilan (n = 2), Golestan (n = 18), North Khorasan (n = 9), and Razavi Khorasan (n = 23) were examined for chewing lice infestation. Naked eye examination revealed that 58 birds (9.5%) were infested with at least one chewing louse species. Collected lice specimens belonged to 28 species from the families Philopteridae, Menoponidae and Laemobothriidae including Strigiphilus strigis (n = 55, 15.6%), Falcolipeurus quadripustulatus (n = 41, 11.6%), Craspedorrhynchus platystomus (n = 40, 11.3%), Colpocephalum turbinatum (n = 36, 10.2%), Laemobothrion maximum (n = 25, 7.1%), Nosopon lucidum (n = 20, 5.6%), Degeeriella fulva (n = 18, 5.1%), Colpocephalum eucarenum (n = 16, 4.5%), Laemobothrion vulturis (n = 15, 4.2%), Anaticola crassicornis (n = 13, 3.7%), Craspedorrhynchus aquilinus (n = 9, 2.5%), Degeeriella fusca (n = 7, 2.0%), Aegypoecus trigonoceps (n = 7, 2.0%), Quadraceps obscurus (n = 6, 1.7%), Colpocephalum impressum (n = 6, 1.7%), Trinoton querquedulae (n = 6, 1.7%), Colpocephalum heterosoma (n = 5, 1.4%), Colpocephalum nanum (n = 5, 1.4%), Lunaceps holophaeus (n = 4, 1.1%), Quadraceps spp. (n = 4, 1.1%), Actornithophilus uniseriatus (n = 2, 0.6%), Nosopon chanabense (n = 2, 0.6%), Actornithophilus cornutus (n = 1, 0.3%), Cuclotogaster heterographus (n = 1, 0.3%), Falcolipeurus suturalis (n = 1, 0.3%), Laemobothrion atrum (n = 1, 0.3%), Colpocephalum gypsi (n = 1, 0.3%), and Rallicola cuspidatus (n = 1, 0.3%). All of these species except six, i.e., Trinoton spp., C. aquilinus, L. vulturis, L. maximum, C. impressum, C. turbinatum, and C. heterographus are recorded for the first time from Iran. This study is the largest epidemiological study to date performed in the country. Data reported herein contribute to our knowledge about diversity of avian chewing lice from wild birds in Iran. During expeditions in the province of Bukidnon, southern Philippines, populations of Hedychium flavescens Carey ex Roscoe - a major plant invader in New Zealand, Hawaii, and La Réunion - were documented. This paper formally reports the presence of H. flavescens, an escaped species with invasive potential in the country. The species was recorded in the municipalities of Impasug-ong and Maramag in Bukidnon in 2018 and 2020, respectively. H. flavescens is the third species of Hedychium in the Philippines, adding to the two previously known species - namely, H. coronarium Koenig and H. philippinense K.Schum. The iolinid mite Coccalicus clavatus Willmann, 1952 was collected during a survey from the soil of Gilanegharb, Kermanshah, Iran in 2022. This species was first described in the family Alycidae by Willmann in 1952 and then André and Uusitalo transferred it to the family Iolinidae in 2006, accompanied by transferring species from the genus Paratydaeolus to the genus Coccalicus. Some challenges about species characters of this mite are discussed in this paper and the synonymy of C. lukoschusi and C. clavatus is proposed. The genus consists of 12 species with clavate trichobothria, and is related to various habitats like soil, stored products, under barks, on leaves of different plants, and on birds. This paper provides the new distributional data of the ground beetle species Itamus castaneus SchmidtGoebel, 1846 (Carabidae: Paussinae: Ozaenini), which is recorded for the first time from the state of West Bengal from an artificial rooftop garden in an urbanised landscape. Cryptomycina pteridis (Ascomycota, class Sordariomycetes) is a highly host-specific fungus, infecting only a native, fern Pteridium aquilinum. This endophyte is usually overlooked, although it is easy to recognise due to its characteristic symptoms on bracken fern fronds, especially advanced narrowing and shrivelling of pinnae and pinnules. Infested plants have pinnae and pinnules curling upwards, and dark stromata along the veins on the undersides of pinnules. The fungus is an obligate systemic endophyte, which disturbs fern growth. Background: Diomus guilavoguii Duverger, 1994, an adventive species, is recorded from Guangzhou (Guangdong Province), China for the first time. Larvae of D. guilavoguii were collected in association with an invasive mealybug, Paracoccus marginatus Williams & Granara de Willink, 1992, infesting papayas, cassava and several ornamental plants. However, little has been known about the biology of D. guilavoguii, especially the morphology of their larvae since their original descriptions. New information: Diomus guilavoguii Duverger, 1994, native to Conakry, Guinea (Africa), is recorded as established in Guangdong Province for the first time. However, it is unclear when and how D. guilavoguii spread from Africa to Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. Both the adult and larva feed on the invasive mealybug Paracoccus marginatus Williams & Granara de Willink (Hemiptera, Pseudococcidae) that infests papaya and ornamental plants. In this paper, the external morphology and male genitalia of adults are re-described. The detailed descriptions of larva and pupa are also provided for the first time. The present paper reports the first occurrence of Permanotus purpureus (Gordon, 1934), a crinoid associated symbiotic brachyuran crab from Andaman Sea. In the Indo-Pacific region, this species is very widespread. The Andaman Islands coral reef habitats were the source of five specimens that were procured during the surveys through scuba diving. Present paper reports 10 groupers (family Serranidae) from West Bengal coast on the east coast of India for the first time. These 10 species are Cephalopholis formosa, Epinephelus areolatus, E. bleekeri, E. caeruleopunctatus, E. erythrurus, E. fasciatus, E. longispinis, E. magniscuttis, E. radiatus, E. sexfasciatus. This paper presents new information on black fungus gnats (Sciaridae) based on field studies at seven localities in Iran. Five sciarid species from the genera Bradysia Winnertz, Corynoptera Winnertz and Lycoriella Frey were collected with Malaise traps, yellow sticky traps, sweep net and an aspirator between 2015 and 2021: Bradysia cellarum Frey, 1948; B. ocellaris (Comstock, 1882); B. tilicola (Loew, 1850); Corynoptera fatigans (Johannsen, 1912); Lycoriella sativae (Johannsen, 1912). All species are first records for the Sistan and Baluchestan province. Bradysia tilicola (Loew) is new to Iran and was recorded for the first time in the Middle East. This brings the number of known sciarid species from Iran to seven. For five species are given a short morphological diagnosis and the global distribution. Arrenurus is considered one of the most specious genera of water mites. This paper deals with three species of Arrenurus Dugès, 1834 (Acari, Hydrachnidiae, Arrenuridae) from Delingha, Qinghai Province, PR China. Arrenurus (Arrenurus) jaggedis sp. nov. is new to science; Arrenurus (Arrenurus) affinis Koenike, 1887 and Arrenurus (Arrenurus) turgidus Koenike, 1911 are recorded for the first time for the Chinese fauna. Arrenurus (Arrenurus) jaggedis sp. nov. can be distinguished by the petiole with furrows at the end, lateral ridges jagged, dorsal humps well developed, the top sharp and curved towards the front edge of the body. The gaper Champsodon capensis Regan, 1908 is reported for the first time from the east coast of India on the basis of 3 specimens (55 - 72 mm standard length) collected from Deshpran fishing harbor, West Bengal. Identification of the species is confirmed by ventral scale patterns on chin, breast, and abdomen. Earlier, this species was reported only from Andaman-Nicobar waters of India and the present finding report further range extension of the species to the northern part of the Bay of Bengal. Here we report the presence of Cybocephalus nipponicus Endrödy-Younga, 1971 from Iran, which has been collected on mulberry in Gilan province, as well as on bitter orange and Japanese spindle in Mazandaran province, northern Iran. The specimens were collected while feeding on scale insects, Pseudaulacaspis pentagona (Targioni Tozzetti, 1886), Unaspis euonymi (Comstock, 1881) and Lepidosaphes gloveri (Packard, 1869) (Hemiptera: Diaspididae). The linyphiid spider species Walckenaeria stylifrons (O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1875) is recorded for the first time from Türkiye. In this short paper, the characteristic features and photographs of Walckenaeria stylifrons from Türkiye are presented. In this paper one new species namely Eumenes ferruapiculus sp. nov., from Yunnan (China) is described and illustrated in detail. In addition, E. affinissimus de Saussure, 1852, E. aquilonius Yamane, 1977, E. belli Giordani Soika, 1973, E. gibbosus Nguyen, 2015, and E. rubrofemoratus Giordani Soika, 1941 are newly recorded from China. The paper listed 12 species of the genus Ceresium belonging to the tribe Callidiopini from Vietnam. Of the total 12 species, there are 4 species additional recorded for Vietnam's fauna, viz. Ceresium furtivum Pascoe, 1869; Ceresium nilgiriense Gahan, 1906; Ceresium quadrimaculatum Gahan, 1900; Ceresium rouyeri Pic, 1943. Descriptions of four newly recorded species and a key to species of the genus Ceresium from Vietnam were provided. Notes on the distribution of all species occurring in Vietnam are also given. This is the most complete list of Aleiodes species of the subfamily Rogadinae from Vietnam, and of the total seventy five species of this genus reported, sixty three species of the subgenus Aleiodes, five of Arcaleiodes, three of Chelonorhogas, and four species of the genus Heterogamus. There are thirty species newly recorded from the Rogadinae fauna of Vietnam. The information on valid names, the published papers of the first record of Aleiodes species in Vietnam and the distribution of Aleiodes species were also provided. The linyphiid spider species Stemonyphantes agnatus Tanasevitch, 1990 is recorded for the first time from Turkey. In this short paper, the characteristic features and photographs of this species from Turkey are presented. Earhead worm Autoba silicula (Swinhoe, 1897) (Lepidoptera: Erebidae) is recorded for the first time in India on maize. Larvae were found feeding on maturing grains and silk, fully fed matured larvae pupates under a dome shaped or elongated galleries made of silk inside the cob. Roving survey conducted during 2019 and 2020 recorded on an average 0.40 and 0.45 larvae per plant, respectively, which is below the economic threshold.
