Ionic liquids have proved to be excellent heat transfer fluids and alternatives to common HTFs used in industries for heat exchangers and other heat transfer equipment. However, its industrial utilization depends on the cost per kg of its production, to be competitive for industrial applications with biphenyl and diphenyl oxide, alkylated aromatics, and dimethyl polysiloxane oils, which degrade above 200 {\deg}C and possess some environmental problems. The efficiency of a heat transfer fluid depends on the fundamental thermophysical properties influencing convective heat transfer (density, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, and viscosity), as these properties are necessary to calculate the heat transfer coefficients for different heat exchanger geometries. In Part 1, the thermophysical properties of pure 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium methanesulfonate $[C_{2}mim][CH_{3}SO_{3}]$ (CAS no. 145022-45-3), (ECOENG 110), produced by BASF, under the trade name of Basionics ST35, with an assay $\geq$97% with $\leq$0.5% water and $\leq$2% chloride ($Cl^{-}$), were presented, for temperatures slightly below room temperature and up to 355 K. In this paper, we report the thermophysical properties of mixtures of [C2mim][CH3SO3] with water, in the whole concentration range, at $P$ = 0.1 MPa. The properties measured were density and speed of sound (293.15 < $T$/K < 343.15), viscosity, electrical and thermal conductivities, refractive index (293.15 < $T$/K < 353.15), and infinite dilution diffusion coefficient of the ionic liquid in water (298.15 K).

Chinese Spelling Correction (CSC) stands as a foundational Natural Language Processing (NLP) task, which primarily focuses on the correction of erroneous characters in Chinese texts. Certain existing methodologies opt to disentangle the error correction process, employing an additional error detector to pinpoint error positions. However, owing to the inherent performance limitations of error detector, precision and recall are like two sides of the coin which can not be both facing up simultaneously. Furthermore, it is also worth investigating how the error position information can be judiciously applied to assist the error correction. In this paper, we introduce a novel approach based on error detector-corrector framework. Our detector is designed to yield two error detection results, each characterized by high precision and recall. Given that the occurrence of errors is context-dependent and detection outcomes may be less precise, we incorporate the error detection results into the CSC task using an innovative feature fusion strategy and a selective masking strategy. Using a diffusion Monte Carlo algorithm, we calculated the spectra of all possible $S$-wave fully heavy pentaquarks within the framework of the quark model. Our aim was to compare the masses of different spin-color configurations corresponding to the same spatial wavefunction for each quark composition. In particular, we computed the masses of the configuration with the maximum number of undistinguishable quarks and those of all the possible baryon+meson splittings compatible with the total number of $b$'s and $c$'s for a given pentaquark. What we found was that, in all cases, compact baryon+meson configurations had lower masses than their more symmetric counterparts. Moreover, those "molecular" associations were unstable (with larger masses) that their infinitely separated non-interacting pieces except int the case of $(ccb)(c\bar{b})$ and $(bbc)(b\bar{c})$ pentaquarks. In any case, even for unstable arrangements, the excess masses are so small ($\sim$20-60 MeV) as to make those compact molecular structures serious candidates to be experimentally detected.

A solitonic model of the early universe is introduced by employing the Double-Sine-Gordon (DSG) potential. The model predicts the appropriate number of e-foldings ($N_e$) required for favored inflation and is an advantage for the model in addressing the flatness, horizon, and magnetic monopole problems. Compatibility of the model with observations, including the Planck $2018$ data \cite{Akrami et al. (2020)} and the Planck $2018$ data+BK$18$+BAO \cite{Ade et al. (2021)} paves the way to estimate the model's free parameters. The results generate acceptable and proper values for the spectral index ($n_s$) and the tensor-to-scalar ratio ($r$) in agreement with the Planck $2018$ data \cite{Akrami et al. (2020)} and the Planck $2018$ data+BK$18$+BAO \cite{Ade et al. (2021)}. Correspondingly, a consistent description of the reheating era is obtained, yielding positive reheating number of e-foldings ($N_{\mathrm{reh}}$) and reheating final temperature ($T_{\mathrm{reh}}$) from $10^{-2}$ GeV to $10^{16}$ GeV. Overall, the model seems viable at the inflationary and reheating eras.

Running LLMs on end devices has garnered significant attention recently due to their advantages in privacy preservation. With the advent of lightweight LLM models and specially designed GPUs, on-device LLM inference has achieved the necessary accuracy and performance metrics. However, we have identified that LLM inference on GPUs can leak privacy-sensitive intermediate information, specifically the KV pairs. An attacker could exploit these KV pairs to reconstruct the entire user conversation, leading to significant vulnerabilities. Existing solutions, such as Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) and Trusted Execution Environments (TEE), are either too computation-intensive or resource-limited. To address these issues, we designed KV-Shield, which operates in two phases. In the initialization phase, it permutes the weight matrices so that all KV pairs are correspondingly permuted. During the runtime phase, the attention vector is inversely permuted to ensure the correctness of the layer output. All permutation-related operations are executed within the TEE, ensuring that insecure GPUs cannot access the original KV pairs, thus preventing conversation reconstruction. Finally, we theoretically analyze the correctness of KV-Shield, along with its advantages and overhead.

This paper explores the decentralized control of linear deterministic systems in which different controllers operate based on distinct state information, and extends the findings to the output feedback scenario. Assuming the controllers have a linear state feedback structure, we derive the expression for the controller gain matrices using the matrix maximum principle. This results in an implicit expression that couples the gain matrices with the state. By reformulating the backward Riccati equation as a forward equation, we overcome the coupling between the backward Riccati equation and the forward state equation. Additionally, we employ a gradient descent algorithm to find the solution to the implicit equation. This approach is validated through simulation examples.

In this paper, we extend the framework of quantitative information flow (QIF) to include adversaries that use Kolmogorov-Nagumo $f$-mean to infer secrets of a private system. Specifically, in our setting, an adversary uses Kolmogorov-Nagumo $f$-mean to compute its best actions before and after observing the system's randomized outputs. This leads to generalized notions of prior and posterior vulnerability and generalized axiomatic relations that we will derive to elucidate how these $f$-mean based vulnerabilities interact with each other. We demonstrate usefulness of this framework by showing how some notions of leakage that had been derived outside of the QIF framework and so far seemed incompatible with it are indeed explainable via such extension of QIF. These leakage measures include $\alpha$-leakage, which is the same as Arimoto mutual information of order $\alpha$, maximal $\alpha$-leakage which is the $\alpha$-leakage capacity, and $(\alpha,\beta)$ leakage, which is a generalization of the above and captures local differential privacy as a special case. We also propose a new pointwise notion of gain function, which we coin pointwise information gain. We show that this pointwise information gain can explain R\'eyni divergence and Sibson mutual information of order $\alpha \in [0,\infty]$ as the Kolmogorov-Nagumo average of the gain with a proper choice of function $f$.

The field of computer-aided synthesis planning (CASP) has seen rapid advancements in recent years, achieving significant progress across various algorithmic benchmarks. However, chemists often encounter numerous infeasible reactions when using CASP in practice. This article delves into common errors associated with CASP and introduces a product prediction model aimed at enhancing the accuracy of single-step models. While the product prediction model reduces the number of single-step reactions, it integrates multiple single-step models to maintain the overall reaction count and increase reaction diversity. Based on manual analysis and large-scale testing, the product prediction model, combined with the multi-model ensemble approach, has been proven to offer higher feasibility and greater diversity.

A standard task in solid state physics and quantum chemistry is the computation of localized molecular orbits known as Wannier functions. In this manuscript, we propose a new procedure for computing Wannier functions in one-dimensional crystalline materials. Our approach proceeds by first performing parallel transport of the Bloch functions using numerical integration. Then, using novel analysis, we show that a simple correction can be analytically computed that yields the optimally localized Wannier function. The resulting scheme is robust and capable of achieving high-order accuracy. We illustrate this in a number of numerical experiments.

A multi-level tunable reflection array wide-angle beam scanning method is proposed to address the limited bandwidth and small scanning angle issues of current terahertz beam scanning technology. In this method, a focusing lens and its array are used to achieve terahertz wave spatial beam control, and MEMS mirrors and their arrays are used to achieve wide-angle beam scanning. The 1~3 order terahertz MEMS beam scanning system designed based on this method can extend the mechanical scanning angle of MEMS mirrors by 2~6 times, when tested and verified using an electromagnetic MEMS mirror with a 7mm optical aperture and a scanning angle of 15{\deg} and a D-band terahertz signal source. The experiment shows that the operating bandwidth of the first-order terahertz MEMS beam scanning system is better than 40GHz, the continuous beam scanning angle is about 30{\deg}, the continuous beam scanning cycle response time is about 1.1ms, and the antenna gain is better than 15dBi at 160GHz. This method has been validated for its large bandwidth and scalable scanning angle, and has potential application prospects in terahertz dynamic communication, detection radar, scanning imaging, and other fields.

The method of fundamental solutions (MFS) is known to be effective for solving 3D Laplace and Stokes Dirichlet boundary value problems in the exterior of a large collection of simple smooth objects. Here we present new scalable MFS formulations for the corresponding elastance and mobility problems. The elastance problem computes the potentials of conductors with given net charges, while the mobility problem -- crucial to rheology and complex fluid applications -- computes rigid body velocities given net forces and torques on the particles. The key idea is orthogonal projection of the net charge (or forces and torques) in a rectangular variant of a "completion flow". The proposal is compatible with one-body preconditioning, resulting in well-conditioned square linear systems amenable to fast multipole accelerated iterative solution, thus a cost linear in the particle number. For large suspensions with moderate lubrication forces, MFS sources on inner proxy-surfaces give accuracy on par with a well-resolved boundary integral formulation. Our several numerical tests include a suspension of 10000 nearby ellipsoids, using 26 million total preconditioned degrees of freedom, where GMRES converges to five digits of accuracy in under two hours on one workstation., Comment: 26 pages, 10 figures

In this brief paper, we present a naive aggregation algorithm for a typical learning problem with expert advice setting, in which the task of improving generalization, i.e., model validation, is embedded in the learning process as a sequential decision-making problem. In particular, we consider a class of learning problem of point estimations for modeling high-dimensional nonlinear functions, where a group of experts update their parameter estimates using the discrete-time version of gradient systems, with small additive noise term, guided by the corresponding subsample datasets obtained from the original dataset. Here, our main objective is to provide conditions under which such an algorithm will sequentially determine a set of mixing distribution strategies used for aggregating the experts' estimates that ultimately leading to an optimal parameter estimate, i.e., as a consensus solution for all experts, which is better than any individual expert's estimate in terms of improved generalization or learning performances. Orbital angular momentum (OAM) in electromagnetic (EM) waves can significantly enhance spectrum efficiency in wireless communications without requiring additional power, time, or frequency resources. Different OAM modes in EM waves create orthogonal channels, thereby improving spectrum efficiency. Additionally, OAM waves can more easily maintain orthogonality in line-of-sight (LOS) transmissions, offering an advantage over multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) technology in LOS scenarios. However, challenges such as divergence and crosstalk hinder OAM's efficiency. Additionally, channel modeling for OAM transmissions is still limited. A reliable channel model with balanced accuracy and complexity is essential for further system analysis. In this paper, we present a quasi-deterministic channel model for OAM channels in the 5.8 GHz and 28 GHz bands based on measurement data. Accurate measurement, especially at high frequencies like millimeter bands, requires synchronized RF channels to maintain phase coherence and purity, which is a major challenge for OAM channel measurement. To address this, we developed an 8-channel OAM generation device at 28 GHz to ensure beam integrity. In this paper, we propose a new policy iteration algorithm to compute the value function and the optimal controls of continuous time stochastic control problems. The algorithm relies on successive approximations using linear-quadratic control problems which can all be solved explicitly, and only require to solve recursively linear PDEs in the Markovian case. Though our procedure fails in general to produce a non-decreasing sequence like the standard algorithm, it can be made arbitrarily close to being monotone. More importantly, we recover the standard exponential speed of convergence for both the value and the controls, through purely probabilistic arguments which are significantly simpler than in the classical case. Our proof also accommodates non-Markovian dynamics as well as volatility control, allowing us to obtain the first convergence results in the latter case for a state process in multi-dimensions., Comment: 18 pages
