- Abstract
The presented paper makes the analysis of differences and similarities between social entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility. It describes the practice of business sector involvement in solving social issues on the example of two different forms of entrepreneurial activity (traditional and social entrepreneurship). The paper reviews in detail the features that characterize social enterprises and responsible businesses, and analyzes the importance of business involvement in solving social issues. The comparison method was used for the study, which focused on the research of social enterprises and corporate social projects. Specifically, social enterprises and social projects implemented by business firms with similar goals in the same geographical zone were selected and compared to each other. The study of the targeted social enterprises reveals that it is entirely possible for a company to achieve commercial and social goals with equal success. As a result, they can contribute to the resolution of social issues such as environmental protection, the employment of vulnerable and underprivileged groups in the open labor market, the development of innovative technologies, and others. Simultaneously, the study confirms that, given their nature, motivation, and goals, responsible business and social entrepreneurship have the full potential to exist and develop independently in the market. Social stability is a key indicator of success for any country, regardless of its social and economic development. Social issues play an important role in the formation of the business environment, on which opportunities for business growth and development highly depend. In the modern world, the role of business in solving social issues is significantly growing, a clear example of which is the UN's "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development". These goals are of universal importance and represent the highest level of international efforts to ensure that we and future generations live on a more sustainable, safe, and secure planet. The business sector is one of the main stakeholders in the process of implementing sustainable development goals, which should contribute to the recovery of the economic environment. Companies in Georgia have varying opinions on the topic of business involvement in social issues. 34 out of 92 surveyed companies view corporate social responsibility as a capital investment, which can play an important role in attracting foreign investment, and 19 of them think that examples of company participation in social issues are influenced by emotional factors and are driven by spontaneous decisions. According to the same companies, social issues are outside the scope of activities of the business sector and are not a subject of their interest. It is evident that examples of business involvement in social projects are mostly observed in large corporations. At the same time, there is a growing trend of social entrepreneurship in Georgia. Since 2009, when the first social enterprises appeared, 66 businesses haven been identified as social enterprises. Social companies are crucial allies for the government and society, and contribute significantly to tackling pressing problems such as poverty alleviation, access to livelihoods, preservation of cultural heritage, environmental protection, health care, education, and others. That is why, social entrepreneurship, as a socio-economic and organizational phenomenon, has attracted the attention of scientists, representatives of business and government in recent years. Although social entrepreneurship differs from traditional entrepreneurship in terms of content, without in-depth knowledge, it is difficult to draw a line between a social enterprise and the enterprise that implements corporate social responsibility initiatives, which is further complicated by the unregulated legal framework of social entrepreneurship. Taking into account the aforementioned factors, the goal of the conducted study was, on the one hand, to gather information about the activities of social enterprises operating in Georgia, and on the other hand, to analyze the initiatives implemented by business companies under the umbrella of corporate social responsibility. Based on the information gathered, the similarities and differences between the two types of business involvement in social issues were outlined. The study also aimed to evaluate the prospects for the development of social entrepreneurship in Georgia. In the process of the study, desk and qualitative methods were used. Primarily, previous studies and literature were examined. Two focus group meetings were held as part of the qualitative research, one with representatives of traditional businesses that implement social projects and the other with social enterprises operating in Georgia. In order to illustrate the similarities and contrasts between the modes of their activities and the outcomes attained, social initiatives carried out by regular businesses and social enterprises were grouped based on similar content and scope. Due to the fact that social entrepreneurship in general and its development potential have not been thoroughly and widely researched at the academic level we will continue the research of the topic. In the following papers, the role of social entrepreneurship in solving the country's economic and social problems will be analyzed in more detail and the effectiveness of the model will be evaluated, particularly with regard to employing a diverse workforce. This paper examines the elections of 17th November 1974, the first attempt of televisionization in the Greek electoral competition. As the first elections in Greece after a decade of political instability, owing to the diversion of democracy by dictatorship, these elections seem interesting, since they reflect not only the political and executive conditions of 'Metapolitefsi', but also the way and the relevant political effects of the transition from 'squares' to television studios. Background: The prevention of Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSIs) can be achieved through systematic surveillance and intervention through the implementation of care bundles. An integral component of the care bundles is the central line insertion and maintenance checklists. Aim: The aim of this literature review was to investigate the compliance rate of the nursing staff with the central line insertion and maintenance care checklists as well as the factors affecting it. Material and Methods: Search was performed on PubMed (April 05, 2021) with the keywords: "nurse*", "nursing staff", "compliance", "central line insertion checklist" and "central line maintenance checklist", without time limit for the publication of scientific papers. Keywords were searched in the title and abstract of the studies. Studies were excluded if they were not published in the English language, were conducted on animals, and were case studies, editorials, and letters to the editor. Results: Of the scientific papers retrieved, 5 were included in the systematic review. The compliance rate of nursing staff with central line insertion and maintenance checklists ranged from 8.4% to 74.3% and from 11.4% to 77.3%, respectively. Regarding the factors affecting the compliance of nursing staff with both types of checklists, these were the nurse-to-patient ratio and the number of beds of nursing wards. Conclusions: Compliance rates with the central line insertion and maintenance checklists are moderate and low. Interventions are required that will increase compliance rates leading to lower CLABSI rates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PARAMETER estimation , *MACHINERY , *INDUCTION machinery , *MANUFACTURING industries , *INDUCTION motors - Abstract
Recently, studies of squirrel-cage induction machines validate the idea that these machines follow the double-cage induction model; however, the manufacturers categorize these machines as single-cage machines. There are many references that use the squirrel-model for squirrel-cage machines, then machine parameters increase from 5 to 7. In the laboratory, parameter determination is performed to estimate 5 parameters; however, 7 parameters have to be determined. Also, the DC test is not an exact test and is used for approximate estimation. Therefore, locked rotor test equations are changed and an overload test is added. After measurements in the laboratory according to the equations of this paper, a MATLAB program is prepared and 7 parameters are determined in a loop until reaching the desired error. This paper demonstrates that laboratory squirrel-cage machines have to be corrected using the 7-parameter model. Furthermore, this paper shows the necessity of new laboratory test equations for squirrel-cage machines. Then a numerical method is used to determine the machine parameters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, a decentralized energy management system is presented for intelligent microgrids with the presence of distributed resources using reinforcement learning. Due to the unpredictable nature of renewable energy resources, the variability of load consumption, and the nonlinear model of batteries, the design of a microgrid energy management system is associated with many challenges. In addition, centralized control structures in large-scale systems increase computational volume and complexity in control algorithms. In this paper, a fully decentralized multi-agent structure for a microgrid energy management system is proposed and the Markov decision process is used to model the stochastic behavior of agents in the microgrid. Electrical and thermal distributed resources, batteries, and consumers are considered intelligent and independent agents. They have the learning ability to explore and exploit the environment in a fully decentralized manner and achieve their optimal policies. The proposed method for hourly microgrid management is model-independent and based on learning. The method maximizes the profits of all manufacturers, minimizes consumer costs, and reduces the dependence of the microgrid on the maingrid. Finally, using real data from renewable energy sources and consumers, the accuracy of the proposed method in the Iranian electricity market is simulated and verified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Magnetic Induction Tomography (MIT) is a promising modality for noninvasive imaging due to its contactless and nonionizing technology. In this imaging method, a primary magnetic field is applied by excitation coils to induce eddy currents in the material to be studied, and a secondary magnetic field is detected from these eddy currents using sensing coils. The image (spatial distribution of electrical conductivity) is then reconstructed using measurement data, the initial estimation of electrical conductivity, and the iterative solution of forward and inverse problems. The inverse problem can be solved using one-step linear, iterative nonlinear, and special methods. In general, the MIT inverse problem can be solved by Gauss-Newton iterative method with acceptable accuracy. In this paper, this algorithm is extended and the zoning technique is employed for the reduction of unknown coefficients. The simulation results obtained by the proposed method are compared with the real conductivity coefficients and the mean relative error rate is reduced to 24.22%. On the other hand, Gauss-Newton iterative method is extended for solving the inverse problem of the MIT, and sensitivity measurement matrices are extracted in different experimental and normalization conditions. Islanding is one of the important challenges in power networks in the presence of distributed generation which is considered an undesirable incident due to the possibility of damage to operators, network equipment, and consumers. Therefore, it is necessary to quickly detect islanding and make a decision regarding the connection status of local distributed generation units in the network. In this paper, a passive islanding detection method is proposed using adaptive threshold-based instantaneous frequency droop characteristic. The proposed threshold limit is dynamically changed depending on under-studied conditions to discriminate the island from load changes, capacitor bank switching, motor start-up, and short circuit types. Two medium voltage networks of Cigre and 34-bus IEEE are used to evaluate the proposed method. The simulations are performed in Digsilent software and the proposed method is implemented in MATLAB software. The simulation results indicate that the island is correctly detected with appropriate accuracy in a short period of time from other disturbances in the presence of wind, solar and diesel types of distributed generations. 31. The problem of confidence in the Algerian banking sector.
- Abstract
Confidence is an essential pillar for building relationships and transactions in all fields, especially in the banking sector, because the success of its activities and their development in light of fluctuations and instability requires strong confidence that clients are linked to banks. Confidence with stressful financial conditions may push banks into bankruptcy and plunge the economy into a spiral of problems. Therefore, it is very important to pay attention to the issue of confidence and work to strengthen it. This paper tried to discuss the issue of confidence in the banking sector, its effects and the factors of its construction, then analyze the reality of confidence in the Algerian banking sector, the latter suffering a crisis of confidence that led to its weakness and inability to play its role as an engine of the economy, and one of the most important reasons for undermining the confidence of the sector is the ineffectiveness of regulations and laws Weak financial knowledge and digital confidence for individuals, in addition to poor financial inclusion, information technology and transparency, and the most important measures to restore confidence in the banking sector are the establishment of strict regulations and laws that impose transparency and prudence, as well as building good financial knowledge for individuals, and expanding financial inclusion. - Abstract
In the modern era, societies are characterized by financial turbulence and social instability, requiring individuals to acquire new skills and abilities so as to respond and adapt to the new standards of the labor market. Teachers, whose multifaceted role is pivotal in the way society progresses, are assessed over the "quality of their knowledge" and the way it is imparted to students. Teaching and teachers are now the core of the learning society. The school functions as a learning organization not only for students but also for teachers, where informal forms of learning such as peer assessment dominate in an effective way. Peer evaluation as a learning strategy, along with peer observation as a key tool, contributes to teachers' self-reflection and professional development. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the views of 132 primary special education teachers of the prefecture of Attica with experience in an integration department or learning support assistance, regarding peer assessment and the role of peer observation and self-reflection. The results of the research demonstrate the positive attitude of teachers towards both observation and self-reflection as a means of acquiring new knowledge, improving teaching and developing a collaborative culture. The above findings are considered important as they can benefit the daily educational work both in improving teaching as well as the teachers themselves. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Objective: The role of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship in any economy's economic growth and development is evident. The literature argues that entrepreneurship is essential for the dynamism of the modern market economy and a greater entry rate of new businesses, which can foster competition and economic growth. Entrepreneurs are the engine of sustainable economic growth and innovation within an economy. Factors determining entrepreneurship can be financial, institutional, economic, and framework conditions. The literature treated human capital's effects on entrepreneurship in isolation, while in reality, its effects depend on access to financial capital, and the human capital's effects on entrepreneurship are contingent on financial development levels. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the impact of human capital on entrepreneurship, considering the role of financial development in selected factor-driven and innovation-driven economies. This paper re-explores the integrated findings in the literature regarding human capital's effects on entrepreneurial outcomes, aiming to broaden the analysis by focusing on the effects of higher education on entrepreneurship rates and the role of financial development. Methods: The sample consists of 17 countries, and the selected factor-driven (or transition from stage 1 to stage 2) countries, including Iran, Kazakhstan, India, Vietnam, Pakistan, Philippines, and Algeria, and innovation-driven ones, including the United States, Netherlands, France, Spain, Japan, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Sweden. Data were collected from the World Bank's World Development Indicators, the Worldwide Governance Indicators, International Financial Statistics, the International Monetary Fund, and the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor. For each category of countries, three models were estimated according to the three indicators of financial development separately and using tabular and consolidated data from 2012 to 2020. Results: the research results showed that in innovation-driven economies, the benefits of tertiary enrollment rates in entrepreneurship are high when the level of financial development is low. For factor-driven economies, the effect of tertiary enrollment rates in entrepreneurship is higher when levels of financial development are high. In other words, in these countries, financial development and human capital complement each other to strengthen entrepreneurship. Conclusion: The literature exploring education's effects on entrepreneurship levels revealed integrated results. The analysis results of the present study suggested one main reason: literature ignored the complex and significant interaction between human capital and financial capital. In innovation-driven economies, without adequate financial capital, countries benefit greatly from a rise in tertiary enrollment rates as the educated cohort receives skills in grabbing entrepreneurial opportunities. Thus, a boost in the entrepreneurship rate can be observed. However, once financial development improves for countries, the boost in entrepreneurship provided by human capital is reduced. Quite simply, the impact of higher education on entrepreneurship rates is strongest in countries with the lowest levels of capital availability and financial development. In contrast, in factor-driven economies, the results indicate that the impact of human capital on entrepreneurship will increase with the expansion of financial development. In other words, higher levels of human capital for an individual lead to expanded job opportunities within existing companies and businesses, increasing the opportunity cost for the individual to become an entrepreneur. The effect of higher education on entrepreneurship rates becomes more positive and stronger in factor-driven economies with the highest levels of capital availability and financial development. Finally, considering the non-linear effects of human capital on entrepreneurship, the results showed that while the substitutability relationship between human and financial capital exists at all levels of tertiary enrollment rates in innovation-driven economies, in factor-driven economies, a supplementary effect was observed between financial development and tertiary enrollment rates. In the last two decades, mountain running sports events have acquired a particular dynamic and strong presence in the field of Greek amateur sports. The purpose of this paper was a) to investigate the associations arising from participation in a small-scale mountain running sports event and b) to investigate the role played by the associations, which originate from an event, in making the decision to repeat the participation to her. One hundred and seventy-four runners who took part in the Artemissio mountain running event participated in the study. The questionnaire they were asked to complete is an adaptation of the Team Association Scale by Gladden & Funk (2002) as it was applied to the field of mountain running events in Greece by Polatidou (2015). The results revealed six association factors: event personality, event staff, escape, identification -- socialization, elite athletes, and event history. Associations stemming from the event contributed positively to the prediction of the intention to repeat participation in the event (R2 =.48, F=25.58, p<.000). The factors History of the organization (t=3.88, p<.000, 32% of the variability), Escape (t=3.29, p<.005, 26% of the variability) and Personality of the organization (t=2.17, p< .05, 19% of the variability.) In conclusion, the associations that arise from participating in an event can shape participants' behavior toward it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AIM: To investigate the impact of environmental crisis on hospital and outpatient health expenditures and more specifically to estimate the effect of climate change, air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution and noise pollution in hospital health expenditures and outpatient health expenditures. MATERIAL AND METHOD: A systematic literature review was conducted on PubMed, Scopus, Cinahl and Science Direct and included papers that have published until to June 2015 in English. We used the following key-words: climate change, air pollution, water pollution, ground pollution, noise pollution, health care expenditures, hospital health expenditures and outpatient health expenditures. RESULTS: Only 30 of the published scientific papers met the criteria for inclusion in this review. Twenty-one studies assessed the impact of the environmental crisis on hospital health expenditures and 9 assessed the impact on outpatient health expenditures. We found that components of the environmental crisis affect people's demand for primary and secondary health care services. CONCLUSIONS: The environmental crisis affects greatly in a direct way the health care expenditures globally, since it is responsible for a great number of hospital admissions, visits in hospitals' emergency departments and outpatient visits. The present paper discusses the topic of Vesuvius' eruption, which covered Pompey and Ercolanum with lava on 79 a.d., and particularly the narration of this very important fact in Alexander Mavrocordatos' (the "Exaporit") Roman History (Τὰ Ῥωμαϊκά), written at the end of 17th century. In the first part of the paper we refer to the existing (till our days) theory on the exact date of the eruption which sustains that it took place on the 24th August. Then we discuss in brief the most important of the proofs that came to light recently, as found in written sources as well as from evidence revealed by archaeologists who conducted excavations in situ, rendering it necessary to place the exact date of the eruption later on, more specifically towards the end of October of the same year. In the second part of the paper we present the version on the date of the eruption, given by Alexander Mavrocordatos in his aforementioned historical narration. The Fanariot historian considers as most probable the theory that puts the fact in the November Calends (end of October), being thus in accordance with the aforementioned indisputable revelations made recently during our days by the archaeologists. Finally, we will discuss the issue on how it was possible that Alexander knew at the end of the 17th century such a detail. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Occupational therapy treatment in certain medical and health conditions has been consistently found to reduce health care costs and improving the quality of life of the patients. A rising strand of the literature underlines the need for socioeconomic evaluations in occupational therapy interventions. Aim: The present study is about the occupational therapy department of a Greek General Hospital, the one of Syros island. Materials and Methods: The paper has a two-fold research goal: to examine the economic costs and revenues of the occupational therapy department and to evaluate the health-related quality of life of the patients of the department, before and after the first lockdown in Greece due to COVID-19, that lead to a three-month shutdown of all occupational therapy sessions. Results: Regarding the economic evaluation part, there seems to be a downward trend in the department's expenditure, mainly due to the nationwide decrease in wages. However, there is noted a large discrepancy between costs and revenues of the department, due to the insufficient public reimbursement and the low pricing imposed on occupational therapy sessions. On the other hand, health-related quality of life scores of the patients treated, just before the lockdown (in February 2020), differentiate between age groups. Conclusions: For adult patients, there does not seem to be any significant differences in their health-related quality of life due to the disruption of their treatment. Still, for children-patients, a significant number of them seems to have lower health-related quality of life scores after the three-month disruption in their sessions. The results should be viewed with caution due to the limitations in the sample size and information. Still, due to the scarcity of studies in this area, we hope the study can provide some initial research insights on the research topics addressed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
