The apps for drawing are present in our children's life. Nevertheless, little is known about the impact of mobile technology on the freehand drawing educational activity. There are few works which are contextualised within short periods of time, with teachers who are not theirs and, in some cases, outside the children's classroom. In this paper, we are focussed on the use of technology on freehand drawing activity. Thus, we have compared the graphics produced by 4- and 5-year-old children with paper&crayon in comparison with those with tablet-finger. Children made the drawings during a planned free-drawing activity, in their ordinary classrooms, with their teachers and during five sessions. Assessment of drawings has evidenced tablet feasibility for making graphics. Nevertheless, with the passing of time, quality of graphics (tablet-finger vs paper&crayons), are nearly matched, demonstrating the low impact level technology has on this activity. In addition, if drawings are analysed specifically according to ages, results have shown that both groups have to develop adaptation strategies of visual perceptual skills and fine motor skills for the touch screen in order to obtain the same quality in the drawings made on both support types. A novel approach for paper drying using airborne ultrasound technology is presented. A unique experimental setup is developed, and a systematic study is conducted using 23 factorial design of experiments and Analysis of Variance. Three controlling factors are considered in the experiments including the initial moisture content, basis weight and refining condition. The outcome of the experiments is compared to a previous work on direct-contact ultrasonic drying of paper. The results confirm that similar to direct-contact, for airborne ultrasonic drying, the basis weight/thickness of the sample is the most important factor in ultrasonic drying and it is followed by the effect of initial moisture content. Using linear regression model, a correlation for predicting the total time of ultrasonic drying is provided. Quality of the dried samples is evaluated, and the permeability measurements confirmed the effect of pore characteristics on ultrasonic drying. The analysis for energy consumption reveals that airborne ultrasonic drying is more efficient at higher moisture contents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study compared syntactic complexity between undergraduate students' research papers and published research papers. A 2 (Groups: experts, students) × 4 (Sections: introduction, methods, results, discussions) mixed factorial analysis of variance (ANOVA) was conducted on each of the following variables: T-unit length, clause density, the frequencies of adverbial clauses, relative clauses, and nominal clauses. The analyses showed there were longer T-units and fewer adverbial clauses in the published papers than in the student papers. Section effects were robust. Qualitative analyses were further conducted to reveal how the student research paper is different from the published papers syntactically. Implications for education were discussed. Objective: The primary aim of this study was to investigate the immediate and delayed effects of kinesiotape (KT) on postural control and patient-reported outcome measures under challenging conditions in individuals with anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions. Methods: Thirty-two anterior cruciate ligament-reconstructed patients for whom 6 months had passed since their operation were randomly assigned to either the KT (n = 16, aged 21.8 [5.5] y) or the placebo KT (n = 16, aged 24.0 [5.1] y) groups. Initially, both groups stood barefoot on a force platform while performing postural tasks in 4 randomized conditions (eyes open, eyes closed, cognitive task, and foam). Before the experiment, patients would bring the 4 conditions, which were written on folded papers, one by one, and in this way, the order of conditions for the examiners was determined. The patients' evaluations were conducted immediately and 48 hours after KT application. Postural control measures, with area and displacement of the center of pressure (CoP) in anterior--posterior and medial--lateral directions, and mean total velocity displacement of CoP (MVELO CoP) served as dependent variables. In addition, the International Knee Documentation Committee score was measured pretreatment and 48 hours posttreatment. Results: Significant group-by-time interactions were observed for displacement of COP in medial--lateral direction (P = .002) and MVELO CoP (P = .034). MVELO CoP significantly decreased (mean difference = 0.60, P = .009) immediately after KT application compared with preapplication measures. In the placebo group, a statistically significant decrease in MVELO CoP (mean difference = 0.869, P = .001) was observed at 48 hours post-KT compared with preapplication values. International Knee Documentation Committee scores significantly improved at 48 hours post-KT application in both groups (P < .05). Conclusions: Though observed at different time points, both KT (immediately after the intervention) and placebo KT (48 h after the intervention) were found to improve postural control measures. Background: The Integrated Palliative Care Outcome Scale (IPOS) validly and reliably measures symptoms and concerns of those receiving palliative care. Aim: To determine the equivalence of the paper version with an electronic version of the IPOS (eIPOS). Design: Multicentre randomised crossover trial (NCT03879668) with a within-subject comparison of the two modes (washout period 30 min). Setting/Participants: Convenience sample of specialist inpatient and palliative home care patients aged over 18 years with cancer and non-cancer conditions was recruited. Scores were compared using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC), Bland-Altman plots and via a mixed-effects analysis of variance. Results: Fifty patients were randomised to complete paper-electronic (n = 24) and electronic-paper (n = 26) IPOS with median age 69 years (range 24–95), 56% male, 16% non-cancer. The ICCs showed very high concordance for the total score (ICC 0.99, 95% CI 0.98–1.00), lowest ICCs being observed for symptoms 'Appetite loss' and 'Drowsiness' (ICC 0.95, 95% CI 0.92–0.97). Nine of seventeen items had ICCs above 0.98, as did all subscales. No statistically significant mode, order, age, and interaction effects were observed for IPOS total score and subscales, except for 'Communication' (Fmode = 5.9, p = 0.019). Fifty-eight percent preferred the electronic version. In the group 75+ years, 53% preferred the paper version. Only three entries in the free-text main problems differed between the versions. Conclusion: The very high equivalence in scores and free text between the IPOS and the eIPOS demonstrates that eIPOS is feasible and reliable in an older palliative population. This study contributes to the diversity literature by probing whether diversity papers are cited as frequently as nondiversity papers in management and industrial/organizational (I/O) psychology journals. Based on the stigma‐by‐association theory, I argue that as a result of their association with minority groups, diversity papers may be devalued and thus "othered" by scholars. Using a citation analysis of 46,930 papers published in 29 peer‐reviewed management and I/O psychology journals, I present empirical evidence in Study 1 that diversity papers were cited significantly less frequently than nondiversity papers. The authors' gender and institutional prestige, journal tier and domain, and year of publication were not moderators. In Study 2, I used a scenario experiment to demonstrate the stigma‐by‐association effect. The authors' gender demonstrated a significant moderating effect in this experiment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: Clinical care ratios are used to quantify and benchmark the activity of allied health professionals. This study aims to review previous recommendations and identify what variables may influence them. Method: Data was collected from the core allied health professions (audiology, nutrition and dietetics, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, prosthetics and orthotics, psychology, social work and speech pathology) across eight Australian hospitals. Data for 113 staff who were casual or from smaller professions (audiology, podiatry, prosthetics and orthotics and psychology) were excluded due to insufficient numbers for analysis. The remaining data were analysed according to profession, seniority (tiers 1, 2 and 3) and employment status (permanent versus casual staff). A two-way ANOVA was performed to assess the association of clinical care ratios with tier, profession, employment status and gender. Results: Data from 1246 staff from the five larger professions at participating hospitals were analysed. There were no interactions between profession and gender (P = 0.185) or employment status (P = 0.412). The relationship between clinical care ratio and profession was modified by tier (interaction term, P = 0.014), meaning that differences in clinical care ratios between professions depended on the tier. Conclusion: This research has confirmed that clinical care ratios are a useful tool in workload management and determining staffing levels for allied health professionals. The recommendations from this research provide a starting point that can be finessed with reference to profession, model of care, workforce structure, governance and training requirements. This will lead to increased staff wellbeing and improved patient outcomes. What is known about this topic? Aim: This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of implementing a psychological first aid intervention for psychological distress, resilience capacity, quality and meaning of life among survivors affected by earthquake adversity in Northern Syria. Methods: A quasi‐experimental, pre‐posttest, two‐group research design was utilized. A convenience sample of 95 survivors (46 in the study group and 49 in the control group) was recruited for the psychological First Aid intervention at a 1:1 ratio. The psychological first aid intervention was delivered in 10 sessions, twice weekly, followed by 3‐month follow‐up. Results: A statistically significant improvement in the mean scores of resilience capacity, quality and meaning of life among survivors, along with a significant reduction in psychological distress, was registered among the study group compared with the control group. Conclusion: Our work verified the suitability of implementing psychological first aid following the catastrophic temblors which struck Northern Syria. Given that the psychological first aid intervention is grounded in psychological safety, cognitive reframing, mobilization of social support and installation of hope, the feasibility of its path following public health emergency, traumatic events or even a personal crisis can be favourable. On 6 February 2023, a massive earthquake devastated large portions of war‐torn northwest Syria and southern Turkey, leaving millions in these regions battling to reconstruct their lives.In northwest Syria, strong aftershocks left more than 4500 people dead, injured hundreds more and demolished at least 10 000 structures.Disasters such as earthquakes can have a significant impact on the mental health and well‐being of those affected. Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of the bladder stimulation technique (BST) to collect urine samples from newborns and its effects on physiological parameters and comfort of the newborn. Design: This was a randomized controlled trial conducted in a NICU. A total of 64 newborns were divided into 2 groups: 32 newborns in the experimental group and 32 newborns in the control group. Methods: Newborns in the experimental group (EG) were subjected to the BST, and in the control group (CG), urine collection was via sterile urine bags, which is routine practice. Procedural success was defined as the collection of urine samples within 3 min of beginning the stimulation technique in the experimental group and of placing the sterile urine bag in the control group. Results: The success rate of the procedure in 3 min was 62.5% in the EG and 28% in the CG (P = 0.006, absolute difference: 35%, 95% confidence interval 27% to 42%, NNT: 3). According to the comparison of the overall mean COMFORTneo scale and pain and distress subscale scores at the 1‐ and 3‐min marks, there was a significant difference between the EG and CG (p < 0.05). The mean scores in the EG were higher than those in the CG. The mean oxygen‐saturation was significantly lower in the EG than in the CG (p < 0.05), and the increase in heart rate was significantly higher in the EG (p = 0.018). Conclusions: BST is a more successful method within 3 min for collecting urine samples from newborns compared to sterile urine bags. However, the newborns' comfort levels minimally decreased at 3 min, and they had moderate pain and distress, while the BST was being implemented. This increase in physiologic parameters was statistically significant but not clinically significant. Summary statement: What is already known about this topic? Urinary tract infection is a commonly diagnosed bacterial infection in young infants with fever. However, the symptoms of this infection are non‐specific, so urine samples are needed to accurately diagnose and exclude it.There are multiple methods available for collecting urine samples, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.The bladder stimulation technique is a noninvasive and efficient method for collecting urine samples. However, few studies have examined the pain and distress effects of this technique, and these studies have reported varying results. What this paper adds? Aim: The research was conducted to measure the effect of health literacy‐grounded web‐based education program on health literacy, nutrition and exercise behaviours in adolescents. Background: The increasing prevalence of obesity in adolescents is explained by a sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy diet. Health literacy is essential for adolescents to maintain their healthy behaviours. Methods: The research was conducted as a parallel group randomized controlled trial. The study was completed by 114 adolescents (experimental = 42, control = 72). The Personal Information Form, the Health Literacy Scale for School‐Age Children and the Nutrition and Exercise Subscales were used to collect data. A web‐based education program was implemented. Two‐way mixed design ANOVA with Bonferroni test was used to examine the group, time and group * time interaction of the measurements. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups regarding health literacy level, nutrition and exercise behaviours pre‐test mean scores (p > 0.05). In the post‐test, the mean scores of health literacy and nutrition behaviours in the experimental group were higher than the control group (p < 0.001). However, there was no significant difference in exercise behaviours (p > 0.05). The power and effect size in mean scores changes for health literacy (99.8%, η2 = 0.039) and nutrition (99.8%, η2 = 0.039) were moderate. Conclusion: The study concluded that health literacy‐grounded web‐based education program increased the health literacy levels of adolescents and improved their nutritional behaviours; however, there was no sufficient change in exercise behaviours. The health literacy level of adolescents is inadequate or limited.Obesity and sedentary lifestyle are more common problems among adolescents.Interventions such as wellness coaching and health education were used to improve nutrition or exercise behaviours. This paper describes a catalog of simultaneous observations of the Earth's magnetosheath by ESA's Cluster and NASA's MMS missions. The catalog is built from a visual inspection of summary plots provided by the two missions complemented by an analysis of high‐resolution magnetic field data. The catalog includes 117 events when Cluster 4 and MMS 4 crossed simultaneously the magnetosheath between January–April, 2017–2021. The dynamical and turbulent features of the magnetosheath are strongly influenced by θBn, the angle between the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) and the shock normal direction. To facilitate such investigations, we also determine the bow shock geometry for each event based on two different approaches: (a) a minimum variance analysis of in‐situ magnetic field measurements, and (b) a geometrical approach which considers a bow shock model parameterized by OMNI data. A description of spacecraft trajectory during each event is also provided. Additional data describe the relative distances between Cluster 4 and MMS 4, a classification of each event as either quasi‐parallel or quasi‐perpendicular, and the distribution of events per magnetospheric flank. The time intervals for the Cluster ‐ MMS conjunctions are included in the catalog, as well as all associated figures and tables discussed in this paper are made available through an independent online data repository, and can be freely downloaded and used by any interested researcher. Hot embossing is a manufacturing technique used to create microchannels on polymer substrates. In recent years, microchannel fabrication technology based on hot embossing has attracted considerable attention due to its convenience and low cost. A new evaluation method of microchannels, as well as an approach to obtaining optimal hot embossing conditions based on the Taguchi method, is proposed in this paper to fabricate precise microchannels for a flexible proton-exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). Our self-made hot embossing system can be used to fabricate assorted types of micro-channel structures on polymer substrates according to various applications, whose bottom width, top width, height and cross-sectional area vary in the aims of different situations. In order to obtain a high effective filling ratio, a new evaluation method is presented based on the four parameters of channel structures, and the Taguchi method is utilized to arrange three main factors (temperature, force and time) affecting the hot embossing in orthogonal arrays, quickly finding the optimal condition for the embossing process. The evaluation method for microchannels proposed in this paper, compared to traditional evaluation methods, incorporates the area factor, providing a more comprehensive assessment of the fabrication completeness of the microchannels. Additionally, it allows for the quick and simple identification of optimal conditions. The experimental results indicate that after determining the optimal embossing temperature, pressure and time using the Taguchi method, the effective filling rate remains above 95%, thereby enhancing the power density. Through variance analysis, it was found that temperature is the most significant factor affecting the hot embossing of microchannels. The high filling rate makes the process suitable for PEMFCs. The results demonstrate that under optimized process conditions, a self-made hot embossing system can effectively fabricate columnar structure microchannels for PEMFCs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To investigate the esthetic outcomes based on the color differences in zirconia (Zr) of varying thickness, resin cement color, and types of titanium (Ti) implant surface treatments. Materials and Methods: Overall, 28 high-translucency monolithic zirconia (HTMZ) specimens were arranged into four groups based on Zr thickness: 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 mm (n = 7 per thickness). Each group was tested using two resin cement colors (clear and opaque) in combination with six surface-treated Ti groups (n = 7), including untreated titanium (UT), anodization (AN), 50-µm alumina airborne-particle abrasion followed by AN (SBAN), AN followed by 50-µm alumina airborne-particle abrasion (ANSB), 9.5% hydrofluoric acid followed by AN (HFAN), and AN followed by 9.5% hydrofluoric acid (ANHF). This created a total of 48 experimental groups, including the use of composite resin (n = 7, shade A2D) for four control groups. All specimens were measured using a spectrophotometer and subsequently compared with composite resin (control) with the corresponding Zr thickness to establish color differences. A color difference of < 2.7 was considered clinically acceptable. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using ANOVA and post hoc test (P = .05). Results: Zr thickness, resin cement color, and type of Ti implant surface treatment significantly affected the observed color differences (P < .05). When using 2.5-mm HTMZ with clear resin cement on AN, UT, SBAN, HFAN, and ANSB, the mean color differences were below the clinically acceptable values, and the 95% CIs of color differences were below the clinically acceptable values for AN, UT, and SBAN groups. Conclusions: HTMZ with a minimum thickness of 2.5 mm and clear resin cement on AN, UT, and SBAN groups potentially result in acceptable color matching with 95% CIs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A systematic-study is conducted using an innovative technology for paper drying by applying ultrasound mechanism. The advantages include greater energy efficiency, lower drying time and temperature, improvement of the product quality, and it is considered a green technology. The effects of initial moisture content, thickness, and refining condition are studied for different types of pulps (hardwood and softwood) using 23 factorial design of experiments. Analysis of Variance show that in the range of the studied parameters, thickness has the maximum effect on ultrasonic drying time followed by the initial moisture content. In addition, using a linear regression model, a relationships for the total time of drying is provided. The results confirmed that ultrasonic drying is more efficient at higher moisture content and higher thickness of the sample. Background: New graduate nurses often have certain potential safety hazards for patients due to insufficient knowledge and lack of clinical practice ability. To address these challenges, China has implemented a standardized training strategy. The improvements in the quality of this training involve not only the intervention of teaching methods but also the consideration of personality traits. Methods: The application software based on the BFI-2 Chinese scale was utilized to administer personality tests to nursing students; nursing students were invited to scan the QR code and voluntarily fill in a questionnaire, including basic information, personality test results, and a professional self-efficacy test scale; offline paper-based theoretical examination results of nursing students were collected before and after training. The data was then analyzed using SPSS software version 26.0, which involved descriptive analysis, one-way between-groups analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Spearman correlation analysis. Results: Based on the data, there were no observable differences in the theoretical results before and after training across different personality traits. In terms of skill assessment, conscientiousness exhibited the highest score at 78.91 ± 2.98 points, while negative emotionality showed the lowest score at 74.59 ± 2.12 points. These differences between different personality traits are statistically significant (P < 0.001). In terms of professional self-efficacy, conscientiousness scored the highest at 98.48 ± 12.69, while negative emotionality scored the lowest at 85.89 ± 11.71, with significant differences between different personality traits (P < 0.001). Professional self-efficacy was negatively correlated with agreeableness (r = -0.150, P = 0.044) and positively correlated with conscientiousness (r = -0.310, P < 0.001). Skill scores were negatively correlated with negative emotionality (r = -0.257, P < 0.001) and positively correlated with conscientiousness (r = 0.182, P = 0.014). Conclusions: This study shows that personality traits affect the skills test results and professional self-efficacy of nursing students. Conscientiousness scored the highest in this study, while negative emotionality scored the lowest. Therefore, personalized training plans are recommended to improve the quality of care for such nursing students and to further enhance patient safety. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Addressing the challenges of non-stationarity, nonlinearity, and noise interference in vibration signals of wind turbine rolling bearings, this paper proposes a fault diagnosis method combining differentiated creative search (DCS), ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD), and singular spectrum analysis (SSA)—termed as DCS-EEMD-SSA. Initially, the DCS algorithm adaptively selects parameters for EEMD to decompose the fault signals. The decomposed signals are then filtered and reconstructed based on criteria such as variance contribution ratio, correlation coefficients, and permutation entropy. Subsequently, DCS adaptively selects parameters for SSA to further decompose the reconstructed signals into multiple subsequences. By analyzing the w-correlation graphs, signals of the same cycle are merged. The merged signals undergo envelope spectrum analysis, based on the highest variance contribution ratio, to diagnose faults in the wind turbine rolling bearings. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through analysis of a publicly available rolling bearing dataset from Case Western Reserve University, showing its capability in accurately diagnosing faults in wind turbine rolling bearings. The lack of diversity in the language sciences has increasingly been criticized as it holds the potential for producing flawed theories. Research on (i) geographically diverse language communities and (ii) on sign languages is necessary to corroborate, sharpen, and extend existing theories. This study contributes a case study of adapting a well-established paradigm to study the acquisition of sign phonology in Kata Kolok, a sign language of rural Bali, Indonesia. We conducted an experiment modeled after the familiarization paradigm with child signers of Kata Kolok. Traditional analyses of looking time did not yield significant differences between signing and non-signing children. Yet, additional behavioral analyses (attention, eye contact, hand behavior) suggest that children who are signers and those who are non-signers, as well as those who are hearing and those who are deaf, interact differently with the task. This study suggests limitations of the paradigm due to the ecology of sign languages and the sociocultural characteristics of the sample, calling for a mixed-methods approach. Ultimately, this paper aims to elucidate the diversity of adaptations necessary for experimental design, procedure, and analysis, and to offer a critical reflection on the contribution of similar efforts and the diversification of the field. Background: Glycoprotein A repetitions predominant (GARP) is a novel transmembrane protein highly expressed on the surface of regulatory T cells (Tregs), which are a subset of immunosuppressive T lymphocytes that play a major role in inhibiting the antitumor immune response. Many studies documented increased GARP expression in various tumors, which is related to a poorer prognosis, and only one single paper investigated its expression in thyroid tumors. Aim: To evaluate the immunohistochemical expression of GARP in differentiated thyroid carcinomas and their tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in comparison to its expression in other benign and low-risk lesions. Methods: Sixty-nine cases of different thyroid lesions were subgrouped into 37 cases of malignant thyroid neoplasms, 25 cases of benign thyroid lesions, and 7 cases of low-risk neoplasms collected from the Pathology Department Laboratories of Ain Shams University Hospitals during the period from January 2017 to December 2021 and stained immunohistochemically for GARP. Immunohistochemical (IHC) results were evaluated in thyroid epithelial cells and TILs. The expression of GARP was correlated with the different clinicopathological parameters. Results: GARP expression discloses a significant statistical difference between the three studied groups (P < 0.001). High GARP expression was detected in 89.19% of the malignant cases and in 28.57% of low-risk neoplasms, while all benign lesions exhibited low GARP expression. High GARP expression of TILs was detected in 60% of the malignant cases. Synchronous high GARP expression in tumor tissue and in the surrounding TILs was detected in 63.16% of the malignant cases, yet these results did not reach statistical significance. Conclusion: GARP is a marker of Tregs, whose high expression is increased in malignant over benign and low-risk lesions. It might be a potential novel target for anticancer immunotherapy. Surface integrity is a critical factor that affects the fatigue resistance of materials. A surface mechanical rolling treatment (SMRT) process can effectively improve the surface integrity of the material, thus enhancing the fatigue property. In this paper, an analysis of variance (ANOVA) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are performed by orthogonal experimental design with SMRT parameters as variables and surface integrity indicators as optimization objectives, and the support vector machine-active learning (SVM-AL) model is proposed based on machine learning theory. The entire model includes three rounds of AL processes. In each round of the AL process, the SMRT parameters with relative average deviation and high output values from cross-validation are selected for the additional experimental supplement. The results show that the prediction accuracy and generalization ability of the SVM-AL model are significantly improved compared to the support vector machine (SVM) model. Background and Aims: The bond strength of direct composite restoration to the caries affected dentin is a challenging issue. Preparation of dentin with an antibacterial agent is a method for creating durable bonded restorations. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of curcumin photosensitizer on the bond strength of a universal adhesive to the caries-affected dentin (CAD). Materials and Methods: In this experimental in vitro study, forty-four decayed human molar teeth were selected. After removing the surface enamel and dentin by a water-cooled saw, the decayed mid-coronal dentin was stained with a caries detection solution. The green and soft infected dentin was removed and CAD and hard and healthy surrounding dentin were left. Then, the remaining dentin surfaces were treated by 600 grit silicon carbide papers and polished. The specimens were divided into two groups (n=22): dentin pretreatment group by curcumin and control with no dentin pretreatment group by curcumin. Each group was divided into two subgroups based on the method of application of All-Bond Universal adhesive (Bisco, USA) (etch and rinseand self-etching methods). After placing the Aelite All Purpose Body (Bisco, USA) composite, all specimens were placed in a universal testing machine for microshear bond strength (µSBS) test. The failure mode of the isolated surfaces was evaluated under a stereomicroscope. Two-way ANOVA analysis was used for statistical analysis. Results: Based on the obtained results, intervention with the adhesive application method and surface pretreatment with curcumin had no significant effect on the bond strength. Also, there was no significant difference in the bond strength of the curcumin group in both etch and rinse and self-etching methods (SE=56.3±27.11 MPa; ER=52.4±84.11 MPa) (P=0.847). In the curcumin-free group, there was no significant difference between the two different adhesive application methods (P=0.187). Conclusion: The results obtained in the present study showed that the pretreatment of dentin affected by caries with light-sensitive curcumin and also use of a universal adhesive by either self-etching or self-etchinf methods had no influence on the microshear bond strength of the composite restoration. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) have traditionally been considered separate disorders, although some similarities and overlaps in certain aspects of language have been detected. In this paper, we compare the deficits in receptive grammar in these two disorders. We analyse the proportion of grammatical errors in relation to semantic complexity in 84 children divided into four groups: children with autism language impairment (ALI), with autism language normal (ALN), with DLD, and with typical development (TD), all groups with the same age of receptive vocabulary. The results show significant differences in the comprehension of grammatical structures, both simple (canonical and non-reversible) and complex (non-canonical and reversible). Children with ASD and DLD show different language profiles depending on the syntactic complexity. In the simplest structures, no differences are found between the groups, starting at an equivalent vocabulary age of 7:8 years. However, there are differences between the ALI and DLD groups with respect to the TD group in the more complex structures, starting at an equivalent vocabulary age of 3 years. Therefore, both groups ALI and DLD present the greatest difficulties compared to ALN and TD. At present, the potato's mechanized harvesting rate in hilly and mountainous areas is very low. The reasons for this are that in heavy soil, the separation of potato rhizomes from soil or vines is not sufficient, harvesting machinery is seriously damaged by the potato epidermis, and the harvested potato is easily buried in soil, resulting in a missed harvest. In this paper, a two-stage cleaning potato harvester with wave-type and roller-group-type separating mechanisms was designed, and its overall structure and working principle are introduced in detail. The new cleaning mechanism can increase the effective separating length and effective contact area of the potato–soil mixture so as to achieve the purpose of removing clay and heavy soil. The main separator uses a structure that combines offset waves with opposite waves and a staggered arrangement of large–small diameter straight bars. The secondary separator adopts a device combining left-hand and right-hand separating rollers. The discrete element model of the whole machine was established, and the results of the theoretical analysis were verified by simulation. The key factors affecting the harvest quality were analyzed by variance analysis and response surface analysis, and the field experiment was carried out with the rate of clean potatoes, damaged potatoes, and peeled potatoes harvested as the indexes. The field experiments showed that the machine achieved a rate of photos on or out of the earth of 98.87%, a damaged potato rate of 0.91%, and a peeled potato rate of 1.13%. The research results provide theoretical support and a technical reference for the design and optimization of potato harvesters, as well as the improvement of the potato–soil separating efficiency and harvest quality. This paper deals with the topic of reducing drag force acting on aircraft wings by incorporating novel winglet designs, such as multi-tip, bird-type, and twisted. The high-speed NASA common research model (CRM) was selected as the baseline model, and winglet designs were retrofitted while keeping the projected wingspan constant. Computational analysis was performed using RANS coupled with the Spalart–Allmaras turbulence model to determine aerodynamic coefficients, such as CL and CD. It was observed that the multi-tip and bird-type designs performed exceptionally well at a low angle of attack (0°). A parametric study was conducted on multi-tip winglets by tweaking the parameters such as sweep angle (Λ), tip twist (Є), taper ratio (λ), and cant angle (Φ). The best combination of parameters for optimal aerodynamic performance while maintaining the wing root bending moment was determined using both the Taguchi method and Taguchi-based grey relational analysis (T-GRA) coupled with principal component analysis (PCA). Also, the percentage contribution of each parameter was determined by using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) method. At the design point, the optimized winglet design outperformed the baseline design by 18.29% in the Taguchi method and by 20.77% in the T-GRA coupled with the PCA method based on aerodynamic efficiency and wing root bending moment. Background/Objectives: Women of childbearing age not only reside in agricultural communities but also form an integral part of the agricultural labor force. Limited research investigates the impact of prenatal fungicide exposure on infant health, specifically ethylenebisdithiocarbamates and their toxic by-product, ethylenethiourea (ETU), particularly in occupational settings. This paper describes the background, aims, protocol, and baseline sample characteristics for the SEMILLA study, which investigates prenatal ETU exposure, neonatal thyroid function, infant growth, and neurobehavioral development in an agricultural region of Ecuador. Methods: This cohort study follows pregnant women and their infants up to 18 months of age, incorporating urinary biomarkers and survey data on ETU exposure and infant growth and neurodevelopmental measures. Data collection includes detailed questionnaires, scales, and physical examinations on maternal and infant health and development, as well as environmental factors. Descriptive statistics on key characteristics of the study population at baseline are presented. Results: SEMILLA enrolled 409 participants (72% enrollment rate): 111 agricultural workers (mostly floricultural), 149 non-agricultural workers, and 149 non-workers. Baseline characteristics show comparability between work sector groups, with some economic differences. Conclusions: SEMILLA will provide key evidence on prenatal fungicide exposure and infant development and encompass comprehensive multistage data collection procedures in pregnancy and infancy, focusing on structural and social determinants of health as well as individual-level chemical exposures. Recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) is not widely used in construction because of the concerns related to its quality. This paper investigates the effect of the replacement levels of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) on bulk and hardened densities of RAC. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to investigate the sensitivity of bulk and hardened densities of concrete to the replacement level of RCA. Predictive equations were developed to estimate the 3-day, 7-day, and 28-day compressive strength of RAC from its fresh properties, which are helpful for early quality control inspection of RAC. Furthermore, a predictive equation has been proposed to determine the flexural strength of RAC based on its 28-day compressive strength. The comparison of the predictive capability of the proposed and widely used code equations showed the incapability of the latter to estimate the flexural strength of RAC. The excavation of pits will induce the vertical displacement of tunnels and lead to engineering problems. The shape as well as size of a pit, and the complex spatial position relationship between the pit and tunnel will induce different deformation responses of tunnel structures; however, the degree to which each factor influences tunnel structure deformation is still unclear. This paper studied the impact of excavation on the deformation of tunnels via a combination of numerical simulation and orthogonal tests. The deformation of tunnels induced by excavation was studied using a numerical method, after which the sensitivity of influencing factors to tunnel deformation was studied by means of range and variance analyses through a four-factor and three-level orthogonal test. The results show that, for a foundation pit with a long side perpendicular to the tunnel longitude, the excavation has the least influence on tunnel deformation. Tunnel deformation increased with an increase in the excavation depth and decreased with an increase in tunnel–pit vertical and horizontal distance. As the plane shape of the foundation pit is 20 m × 45 m, the depth of excavation is 4 m, the pit tunnel vertical distance is 13 m, and the pit tunnel horizontal distance is 28 m, the tunnel has the least deformation. Based on the results of this study, the position relationship between the pit and the tunnel can be optimized in terms of design and construction, and the aim of controlling tunnel deformation can be achieved. Background: Co-occurring physical and mental health conditions are common, but effective and sustainable interventions are needed for primary care settings. Purpose: Our paper analyzes the effectiveness of a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) intervention for treating depression and co-occurring health conditions in primary care. We hypothesized that individuals receiving the SFBT intervention would have statistically significant reductions in depressive and anxiety symptoms, systolic blood pressure (SBP), hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c), and body mass index (BMI) when compared to those in the control group. Additionally, we hypothesized that the SFBT group would have increased well-being scores compared to the control group. Methods: A randomized clinical trial was conducted at a rural federally qualified health center. Eligible participants scored ≥ 10 on the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) and met criteria for co-occurring health conditions (hypertension, obesity, diabetes) evidenced by chart review. SFBT participants (n = 40) received three SFBT interventions over three weeks in addition to treatment as usual (TAU). The control group (n = 40) received TAU over three weeks. Measures included depression (PHQ-9) and anxiety (GAD-7), well-being (Human Flourishing Index), and SFBT scores, along with physical health outcomes (blood pressure, body mass index, and hemoglobin A1c). Results: Of 80 consented participants, 69 completed all measures and were included in the final analysis. 80% identified as female and the mean age was 38.1 years (SD = 14.5). Most participants were white (72%) followed by Hispanic (15%) and Black (13%). When compared to TAU, SFBT intervention participants had significantly greater reductions in depression (baseline: M = 18.17, SD = 3.97, outcome: M = 9.71, SD = 3.71) and anxiety (baseline: M = 14.69, SD = 4.9, outcome: M = 8.43, SD = 3.79). SFBT intervention participants also had significantly increased well-being scores (baseline: M = 58.37, SD = 16.36, outcome: M = 73.43, SD = 14.70) when compared to TAU. Changes in BMI and blood pressure were not statistically significant. Conclusion: The SFBT intervention demonstrated efficacy in reducing depressive and anxiety symptoms and increasing well-being but did not affect cardio-metabolic parameters over a short period of intervention. Background: This paper documents changes in the prevalence and intensity of soil-transmitted helminth (STH) infections in the Geshiyaro project in the Wolaita zone of Southern Ethiopia. Methods: The Geshiyaro project comprises three intervention arms. Arm 1 is subdivided into the Arm 1 pilot (one district) and Arm 1 (four other districts), both receiving integrated community-wide mass drug administration MDA (cMDA) with intensive water, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH) interventions. Arm 2 involves 18 districts with cMDA interventions plus the existing government-led One WaSH program, while Arm 3 serves as a control with school-based MDA (sMDA) interventions plus the existing government-led One WaSH program in three districts. The study is designed as a cohort investigation over time, with the establishment of longitudinal sentinel sites where infection levels are assessed annually. A total of 45 longitudinal parasitological surveillance sentinel sites are being used across all three intervention arms to monitor STH prevalence and intensity of infection. From each of the 45 sentinel sites, 150 individuals were randomly selected, stratified by age and gender. The t-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were employed to compare infection prevalence and intensity across the three study arms over time. Results: The prevalence of STH decreased significantly from 34.5% (30.6%, 38.5%) in 2019 to 10.6% (8.3%, 13.4%) in 2022/2023 (df = 1, P < 0.0001) in the Arm 1 pilot, from 27.4% (25.2%, 29.7%) in 2020 to 5.5% (4.4%, 6.7%) in 2023 (df = 1, P < 0.0001) in Arm 1, from 23% (21.3%, 24.8%) in 2020 to 4.5% (3.7%, 5.3%) in 2023 (df = 1, P < 0.001) in Arm 2, and from 49.6% (47.4%, 51.7%) in 2021 to 26.1% in 2023 (df = 1, P < 0.0001) in Arm 3. The relative reduction in the prevalence of any STH was the highest in the arms employing cMDA, namely Arm 2, with a decrease of 82.5% (79.3%, 84.2%), followed by Arm 1 with a reduction of 80.1% (75.3%, 84.6%), and then the Arm 1 pilot with a decrease of 69.4% (60.1%. 76.6%). Arm 3 employing sMDA had the lowest decrease, with a reduction of 46.9% (43.6%, 51%). The mean intensity of infection (based on Kato–Katz egg count measures) for Ascaris lumbricoides species, which was the dominant STH species present in the study area, decreased significantly in Arms 1 and 2, but only slightly in Arm 3. The prevalence of hookworm and Trichuris trichiura infections were found to be very low in all arms but also decreased significantly. Conclusions: The reduction in the prevalence and intensity of STH in Arms 1 and 2 revealed steady progress towards transmission interruption based on cMDA intervention, but additional efforts with MDA coverage and WaSH interventions are needed to achieve a prevalence threshold < 2% based on the quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) diagnostic method. Eukaryotic phytoplankton play a major role in the circulation of material and energy in a lake's ecosystem. The acquisition of information on the eukaryotic phytoplankton community is extremely significant for handling and regulating the ecosystems of lakes. In this study, samples were collected from the western half of Chaohu Lake in the summer and winter periods. Analyses revealed that the eukaryotic phytoplankton in this region comprised 70 genera, 34 orders, and 7 phyla. There were 61 genera, 29 orders, and 7 phyla in summer, and 25 genera, 14 orders, and 5 phyla in winter. The dominant genus was Chlamydomonas of Chlorophyta in summer. In contrast, the dominant genus was Mychonastes of Chlorophyta in winter. The diversity index analysis revealed that the eukaryotic phytoplankton community exhibited greater fluctuation in the summer than in the winter. Moreover, analysis of the physiochemical properties of the water samples showed considerable spatial and temporal differences in the water quality. This paper focusses primarily on analysing the influence of the physiochemical properties of water on the eukaryotic phytoplankton community. In particular, the effects of the major physicochemical properties of water on the community evolution of eukaryotic phytoplankton classes were evaluated using the redundancy analysis method. The findings demonstrated that total phosphorus (TP), PO4−-P, NH4+-N, and total nitrogen (TN) were the primary influencing factors in summer, whereas NO3−-N, DO, and water temperature (WT) were the major influencing factors in winter. Subsequently, the Mantel test revealed that the phylum level of the eukaryotic phytoplankton community was significantly correlated with WT, DO, NH4+-N, TN, TP, and Chlorophyll a. Variance partitioning analysis indicated that seasonal factors accounted for a large proportion of the variation in the eukaryotic phytoplankton community, reaching 48.4%. Subsequently, co-occurrence network analysis demonstrated that most families of eukaryotic phytoplankton were facilitated mutually, with the proportion of promotion being 94.1%. This study provides insight into the crucial factors that influence the phytoplankton communities and a reasonable control direction for the positive evolution of the eukaryotic phytoplankton community in the western half of Chaohu Lake. The assessment of the cognitive workload experienced by air traffic controllers is a complex and prominent issue in the research community. This study introduces new indicators related to gamma waves to detect controllers' workload and develops experimental protocols to capture their EEG data and NASA-TXL data. Then, statistical tests, including the Shapiro–Wilk test and ANOVA, were used to verify whether there was a significant difference between the workload data of the controllers in different scenarios. Furthermore, the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier was employed to assess the detection accuracy of these indicators across four categorizations. According to the outcomes, hypotheses suggesting a strong correlation between gamma waves and an air traffic controller's workload were put forward and subsequently verified; meanwhile, compared with traditional indicators, the indicators associated with gamma waves proposed in this paper have higher accuracy. In addition, to explore the applicability of the indicator, sensitive channels were selected based on the mRMR algorithm for the indicator with the highest accuracy, β + θ + α + γ, showcasing a recognition rate of a single channel exceeding 95% of the full channel, which meets the requirements of convenience and accuracy in practical applications. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that utilizing EEG gamma wave-associated indicators can offer valuable insights into analyzing workload levels among air traffic controllers. Background: Emergency medical services (EMS) are intended to provide people with immediate, effective, and safe access to the healthcare system. The effects of pandemics on emergency medical services (EMS) have not been studied sufficiently. The aim of this paper is to assess the frequency and structure of calls at an ambulance station in Kazakhstan during the period of 2019–2023. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted to estimate the incidence of emergency assistance cases from 2019 to 2023. Results: An analysis of the structure and number of ambulance calls before the pandemic, during the pandemic, and post-pandemic period did not reveal significant changes, except for calls in urgency category IV. Patients of urgency category IV handled by an ambulance decreased by 2 and 1.7 times in 2020 and 2021, respectively, which appears to be related to quarantine measures. In 2022 and 2023, category IV calls were 4.7 and 4.5 times higher than in 2019. Conclusions: This study's findings suggest no changes in the dynamics of ambulance calls, except urgency category IV calls. Objective: This paper addresses the Graeco-Latin square design (GLSD) under neutrosophic statistics. In this work, we propose a novel approach for analyzing Graeco-Latin square designs using uncertain observations. Method: This approach involves the determination of a neutrosophic ANOVA and the determination of the neutrosophic hypotheses and decision rule. Results: The performance of the proposed design is evaluated using the numerical examples and simulation study. Conclusion: Based on the results observed, it can be concluded that the GLSD under neutrosophic statistics performs better than the GLSD under classical statistics in the presence of uncertainty. Natural fiber reinforced composites (NFRC) are in great demand for sound absorption applications in various industries, such as automotive, aircraft, and building construction applications compared to synthetic composite materials. Though conventional sound-absorbing materials are used for passive control, natural fibers are more effective and economical for sound-absorption treatments. This paper presents the efforts made in the preparation of various NFRC made of flax, hemp, and kenaf fibers with epoxy as a matrix material. Also, the acoustic properties of the natural fiber-reinforced composites are studied by measuring the sound absorption coefficient (SAC). The experiments were conducted to measure the SAC of composite samples of different thicknesses by using the impedance tube method with the aid of Active Format Description 1001 (AFD 1001) software at frequencies ranging from about 200 to 1600 Hz. Moreover, the combined effects of various natural fiber composites were studied by conducting detailed experimentation. The experimental results show that the flax fiber composite possesses a higher SAC ranging from about 0.778 to 0.892 varying the test specimen thickness from 20 to 40 mm. From the results, the flax composite has a high sound absorption coefficient compared to hemp and kenaf composites. The optimization of Acoustic properties was carried out by using an Analysis of Variance and the influence of factors such as type of composite material and composite thickness on SAC was calculated. The growing demand for Location-based Augmented Reality (LAR) experiences has driven the integration of Visual Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (VSLAM) with Google Street View (GSV) to enhance the accuracy. However, the impact of the ambient light intensity on the accuracy and reliability is underexplored, posing significant challenges in outdoor LAR implementations. This paper investigates the impact of light conditions on the accuracy and reliability of the VSLAM/GSV integration approach in outdoor LAR implementations. This study fills a gap in the current literature and offers valuable insights into vision-based approach implementation under different light conditions. Extensive experiments were conducted at five Point of Interest (POI) locations under various light conditions with a total of 100 datasets. Descriptive statistic methods were employed to analyze the data and assess the performance variation. Additionally, the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) analysis was utilized to assess the impact of different light conditions on the accuracy metric and horizontal tracking time, determining whether there are significant differences in performance across varying levels of light intensity. The experimental results revealed that a significant correlation (p < 0.05 ) exists between the ambient light intensity and the accuracy of the VSLAM/GSV integration approach. Through the confidence interval estimation, the minimum illuminance 434   lx is needed to provide a feasible and consistent accuracy. Background: In example‐based learning, examples are often combined with generative activities, such as comparative self‐explanations of example cases. Comparisons induce heavy demands on working memory, especially in complex domains. Hence, only stronger learners may benefit from comparative self‐explanations. While static text‐based examples can be compared easily, this is challenging for transient video‐based modelling examples used in complex domains because simultaneous processing of two videos is not feasible. Objectives: To allow for such comparisons, we combined video‐based modelling examples with static representations (i.e., summarizing tables) of the observed optimal and a suboptimal solution of the problem‐solving process. A comparative self‐explanation prompt asked learners to compare the different solution approaches. Our study investigated the impact of video‐based modelling examples versus independent problem‐solving on cognitive load and problem‐solving skill development. Moreover, we investigated the effects of comparative versus sequential self‐explanation prompts, depending on learners' prior knowledge. Methods: In an experiment, 118 automotive apprentices learned a car malfunction diagnosis strategy. Apprentices were divided into three groups: (1) modelling examples with comparative self‐explanation prompts, (2) modelling examples with sequential prompts, and (3) no examples or prompts. Diagnostic knowledge and skills were assessed before and after the intervention. Cognitive load was measured retrospectively. Results and conclusions: Despite no observed effects on cognitive load, modelling examples enhanced diagnostic knowledge and diagnostic skills with scaffolds, though not independent diagnostic skills without scaffolds. The need for more practice opportunities to foster independent diagnostic skills is assumed. Additionally, comparative prompts seem promising for learners with higher prior knowledge. Background: Mindfulness practices enhance executive function skills and academic achievement, spurring interest in integrating mindfulness interventions into education. Embedding mindfulness practice into a digital math game may provide a low‐cost, scalable way to induce mindfulness and boost game‐based learning, yet this approach remains unexplored. Objectives: We investigated the learning benefits of integrating mindfulness exercises in a digital math learning game and examined how students' trait mindfulness might moderate the outcomes. Methods: Two classroom studies were conducted with 404 5th and 6th grade students from six public schools in the U.S. (nStudy 1 = 227, nStudy 2 = 177). The two randomized controlled experiments assigned students to one of the three conditions: passive control (playing the digital learning game Decimal Point), story‐enriched active control, or mindfulness‐enriched condition. Trait mindfulness, learning gains, and in‐game problem‐solving (including problem‐solving duration, error count and correctness after reminder) were assessed. Study 2 included a manipulation check to better understand the effects of the mindfulness intervention. Results: Findings showed no significant differences in learning gains, problem‐solving duration or error count among the conditions. Students' trait mindfulness did not moderate these outcomes. Mindfulness reminders in the mindfulness‐enriched game led to more correct answers after errors than jokes in the story‐enriched game. Study 2 revealed that we failed to induce higher state mindfulness through the mindfulness inductions. Conclusions: Mindfulness prompts could be especially beneficial for students experiencing frustration during gameplay, warranting more exploration for digital game‐based instruction. We highlight barriers and future directions for fostering mindfulness through computer‐based instruction in classrooms. Background: Behavioural intention (BI) has been predicted using other variables by adopting the technology acceptance model (TAM). However, few studies have examined whether BI can predict learning performance. Objectives: The present study used an extended TAM to investigate whether students' BI is a predictor of their listening learning performance (LLP) through vocabulary learning performance (VLP) in the context of mobile vocabulary‐assisted listening learning by using two mobile learning tools. Methods: A total of 129 college students with a pre‐intermediate level of English were recruited as participants, and a 10‐week mobile vocabulary‐assisted, listening‐learning course was conducted in 2022. In each task of this course, the students had to learn target words from a listening passage on Quizlet and then engage in listening activities on Randall's ESL Cyber Listening Lab. Quantitative responses obtained through an online questionnaire were analysed through partial‐least‐squares structural equation modelling. Results: The analysis results indicated that BI significantly predicted LLP through VLP. Perceived ease of use (PEU) and perceived usefulness (PU) were significant antecedents of BI. However, PEU did not significantly predict PU because of the difficulty of navigating between the two technological tools used in this study. The extended model demonstrated its effectiveness in explaining listening learning performance, as evidenced by an explained variance (R2) of 69%. Conclusion: The extended model validates the influence of BI on learning performance and it can also draw teachers' focus toward the significance of enhancing students' BI to improve their listening learning performance. Building partition structures must meet several construction and technical parameters. During the measurement of the acoustic properties of dividing structures in real conditions, surprising results are often achieved that do not correspond to the expected values. Based on this reason, the composition of nine dividing constructions were designed. The measurements were carried out under conditions that are very close to real conditions. Measurements were performed in accordance with international standards. The monitored parameters also include acoustic parameters. In this paper, the analysis of acoustic parameters of nine building dividing structures (profiles) with different compositions was performed. The individual layers were made up of common building elements. Various statistical methods, variance analysis and regression were used in the evaluation. The apparent sound reduction index values measured for different profile types for frequencies from 100 to 3150 Hz are compared using Variance Analysis (ANOVA); the assumptions for their use are verified by the Shapiro–Wilk test and Levene Test of Homogeneity of Variances. Multiple linear regression was used to identify and analyze the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The methods of regression and correlation analysis were used in determining the parameters that affect the resulting coefficient of weighted structural sound insulation. The total thickness of the profile and the number of layers were found to be statistically significant parameters. Based on these analyses, the coefficient of weighted structural sound insulation was determined. A clear-cut definition and identification of the single-number rating required would thus be instrumental in selecting the appropriate material for accomplishing the desired objectives. Background: The purpose of this study is to examine and evaluate the existing clinical practice guidelines and consensus statements regarding tracheostomy care for non‐mechanically ventilated patients. Methods: A systematic search of databases, and professional organisations was conducted from inception to 19 March 2023. Two appraisers evaluated each guideline using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research & Evaluation II (AGREE II) and the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Checklist for Text and Opinion Papers. Results: No specific clinical guidelines exist on airway management in non‐mechanically ventilated patients. Of 6318 articles identified, we included 12 clinical practice guidelines, and 9 consensus statements, which were from China, the US, the UK, South Korea, Australia, France and Belgium. The AGREE II scores in six domains are (1) the scope and purpose, 70.30%; (2) stakeholder involvement, 37.61%; (3) rigor of development, 33.97%; (4) clarity of presentation, 68.16%; (5) applicability, 44.23% and (6) editorial independence, 40.06%. The overall quality of evidence was level B. The summarised recommendations for clinical practice encompass the following six areas: airway humidification, management of the trach cuff, management of inner cannula, tracheostoma care, tracheostomy suctioning and management and prevention of common post‐operative complications. Conclusions: The overall quality of the clinical guidelines on non‐ventilated tracheostomy care was moderate, and further improvements are needed in domains of stakeholder involvement, applicability, clarity of presentation and editorial independence. Recommendations on non‐ventilated tracheostomy care are often embedded in the guidelines on ventilated tracheostomy. Specific clinical guidelines are needed to provide a standardised approach to tracheostomy care for non‐ventilated patients. Relevance to clinical practice: Patients with non‐ventilated tracheostomy need specialised airway management. Improving patient outcomes requires standardised protocols, patient involvement, quality evaluation, and interdisciplinary approaches. The purpose of this paper is the design of a potato drip irrigation tape recycling machine that would not require manual assistance or suffer from broken tapes. To clarify the recycling performance of the new potato drip irrigation tape recycling machine under different working parameters, a single-factor performance experiment was conducted. To investigate the reasons for variations in the performance indexes of the machine under different operating parameters, RecurDyn-EDEM coupled simulation experiments were carried out, with the peak height of soil and the maximum bending angle of the drip irrigation tape during the recycling process as the experimental indexes. To determine the optimal working parameter combinations and to clarify the effects of the interaction of various factors on the performance indexes, a response surface experiment was conducted. Following this, an analysis of variance was performed, and a mathematical regression model was established based on the experimental results. The findings revealed that a machine forward speed of 2.4 km/h, a shovel angle of 12°, and a conveyor sprocket speed of 270 r/min resulted in a drip irrigation tape recovery rate of 95.2%, meeting the relevant standards for drip irrigation tape recycling operations. Accurately capturing children's word learning abilities is critical for advancing our understanding of language development. Researchers have demonstrated that utilizing more complex statistical methods, such as mixed-effects regression and hierarchical linear modeling, can lead to a more complete understanding of the variability observed within children's word learning abilities. In the current paper, we demonstrate how a person-centered approach to data analysis can provide additional insights into the heterogeneity of word learning ability among children while also aiding researchers' efforts to draw individual-level conclusions. Using previously published data with 32 typically developing and 32 late-talking infants who completed a novel noun generalization (NNG) task to assess word learning biases (i.e., shape and material biases), we compare this person-centered method to three traditional statistical approaches: (1) a t-test against chance, (2) an analysis of variance (ANOVA), and (3) a mixed-effects regression. With each comparison, we present a novel question raised by the person-centered approach and show how results from the corresponding analyses can lead to greater nuance in our understanding of children's word learning capabilities. Background: In recent years, the integration of large language models (LLMs) into healthcare has emerged as a revolutionary approach to enhancing doctor–patient communication, particularly in the management of diseases such as prostate cancer. Methods: Our paper evaluated the effectiveness of three prominent LLMs—ChatGPT (3.5), Gemini (Pro), and Co-Pilot (the free version)—against the official Romanian Patient's Guide on prostate cancer. Employing a randomized and blinded method, our study engaged eight medical professionals to assess the responses of these models based on accuracy, timeliness, comprehensiveness, and user-friendliness. Results: The primary objective was to explore whether LLMs, when operating in Romanian, offer comparable or superior performance to the Patient's Guide, considering their potential to personalize communication and enhance the informational accessibility for patients. Results indicated that LLMs, particularly ChatGPT, generally provided more accurate and user-friendly information compared to the Guide. Conclusions: The findings suggest a significant potential for LLMs to enhance healthcare communication by providing accurate and accessible information. However, variability in performance across different models underscores the need for tailored implementation strategies. Introduction: Digitalization in medicine is steadily increasing. Complex treatments, scarce personnel resources and a high level of documentation are a constant burden on healthcare systems. The balancing between correct manual documentation in the digital records and limited staff resources is rarely successful. The aim of this study is to evaluate the adherence between documentation and lack of documentation in the treatment of critical care patients. Material and Methods: For the evaluation, data from the hospital information system (HIS) of several intensive care units (ICU) were examined in conjunction with data collected from a checklist. All boluses of sedatives, analgesics and catecholamines were documented paper based across all shifts and all weekdays and compared with corresponding digital data from the HIS (2019–2022) of previous years. Results: 939 complete digital patient records revealed a massive under-documentation of the medication administration compared to that applied according to the checklist. Only 12% of all administered catecholamines, 11% of α2-agonists, 33% of propofol, 92% of midazolam and 46% of opioids were found in the digital recordings. In comparison, the effect was more pronounced on weekdays compared to weekends. In addition, the highest documentation gap was found in the comparison of early shifts. Comparing neurosurgical vs. internal vs. anesthesiologic ICUs there was a highly significant difference between anesthesiologic ICUs compared with other disciplines (p < 0.0001). Discussion: Our data shows that there is a remarkable documentation gap and incongruence in the area of applied boli. Automated documentation by connecting syringe pumps that enter data directly into the HIS can not only reduce the workload, but also lead to comprehensive and legally required documentation of all administered medication. This paper outlines an initial analysis of 20 years of data held on an electronic bridge management database for approximately 3500 arch bridges across Northern Ireland (NI) by the Department for Infrastructure. Arch bridges represent the largest group of bridge types, making up nearly 56% of the total bridge stock in NI. This initial analysis aims to identify trends that might help inform maintenance decisions in the future. Consideration of the Bridge Condition Indicator (BCI) average value for the overall arch bridge stock indicates the potential for regional variations in the overall condition and the potential for human bias in inspections. The paper presents the most prevalent structural elements and associated defects recorded in the inspections of arch bridges. This indicated a link to scour and undermining for the worst-conditioned arch bridges. An Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) analysis identified function, number of spans, and deck width as significant factors during the various deterioration stages in a bridge's lifecycle. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to optimize the key parameters (mesh count, paper type and ink type) in screen printing, which are affecting the printed ink volume. The objective of the optimization was to maximize the color reliability by decreasing the color difference (ΔE value) of the prints while minimizing the ink consumption. Screen printing is still dominating the printing industry to make cost-effective production when high volumes are needed. Design/methodology/approach: The experiment was designed using the Taguchi method, and the samples were prepared with screen-printing by using the standard squeegee angle and pressure. The effect of mesh count, ink type and paper type on ink consumption was evaluated with using analysis of variances and main effects plots of S/N ratio and standard deviation. Findings: The factors ink type, paper type and mesh count were found significant for ink consumption due to their Probability (P) values which were lower than 0.05. It was determined that the mesh count was the most critical variable with the analysis of variance. The analysis showed that the selection of an optimum mesh count was the key to controlling the amount of the deposited ink. Although mesh counts were inversely proportional with the ink consumptions, they did not affect the color differences as expected. Originality/value: The optimization of process parameters, that are most effective on the print quality, is necessary to minimize the ink usage and lower the costs and environmental impact without exceeding the desired ΔE value limits. OBJECTIVE: To develop an automated algorithm to detect, quantify, and differentiate between tremor using pen-on-paper spirals. METHODS: Patients with essential tremor (n = 25), dystonic tremor (n = 25), Parkinson’s disease (n = 25), and healthy volunteers (HV, n = 25) drew free-hand spirals. The algorithm derived the mean deviation (MD) and tremor variability from scanned images. MD and tremor variability were compared with 1) the Bain and Findley scale, 2) the Fahn–Tolosa–Marin tremor rating scale (FTM–TRS), and 3) the peak power and total power of the accelerometer spectra. Inter and intra loop widths were computed to differentiate between the tremor. RESULTS: MD was higher in the tremor group (48.9±26.3) than in HV (26.4±5.3; p < 0.001). The cut-off value of 30.3 had 80.9% sensitivity and 76.0% specificity for the detection of the tremor [area under the curve: 0.83; 95% confidence index (CI): 0.75, 0.91, p < 0.001]. MD correlated with the Bain and Findley ratings (rho = 0.491, p = 0 < 0.001), FTM–TRS part B (rho = 0.260, p = 0.032) and accelerometric measures of postural tremor (total power, rho = 0.366, p < 0.001; peak power, rho = 0.402, p < 0.001). Minimum Detectable Change was 19.9%. Inter loop width distinguished Parkinson’s disease spirals from dystonic tremor (p < 0.001, 95% CI: 54.6, 211.1), essential tremor (p = 0.003, 95% CI: 28.5, 184.9), or HV (p = 0.036, 95% CI: -160.4, -3.9). CONCLUSION: The automated analysis of pen-on-paper spirals generated robust variables to quantify the tremor and putative variables to distinguish them from each other. Purpose: This paper aims to determine the demand category and level of government and investors in public–private partnership (PPP) projects. It emphasizes the importance of meeting the demands of stakeholders and controlling the unreasonable demands. This study aims to improve the demand management of stakeholders in the PPP project and lay a foundation for the research on behavior based on the motivation theory. Design/methodology/approach: This paper opted for a questionnaire survey to collect data based on indicators identified through literature. The participants come from the government and private sector (investors, contractors, operators, etc.) in China PPP Lecture Hall. The reliability, validity and variance analyses are used to test the reliability of data. Factor analysis and entropy method are used to determine demand categories and weights. Findings: The government's 14 demands are divided into four groups: satisfy public activities, self-interest, responsibility and relief financial pressure; 6 investor's demands are divided into development ability and satisfy social activities. The self-interest of government is higher than that of the publicity in PPP projects; investor's social reputation is most important, it is a foundation for obtaining external resources and achieving enterprise development. Research limitations/implications: Because of the chosen research approach, the demand indexes cannot be exhausted. Therefore, researchers are encouraged to enrich relevant contents further. Practical implications: This paper includes implications for a targeted demand control mechanism and for managing the unreasonable demand. With the progressive development of new energy technologies, high-power lithium batteries have been widely used in ship power systems due to their high-power density and low environmental pollution, and they have gradually become one of their main propulsion energy sources. However, the large-scale deployment of lithium batteries has also brought a series of safety problems to ship operations, especially the battery internal short circuit (ISC). Battery ISC faults are very hidden and unpredictable at the initial stage and often fail to be detected in time, ultimately leading to overheating, fire or even an explosion of the ship's power system. Based on this, this paper proposes a fast and accurate method for early-stage ISC fault location and detection of lithium batteries. Initially, voltage variations across the lithium battery packs are quantified using curvilinear Manhattan distances to pinpoint faulty battery units. Subsequently, the localized characteristics of voltage variance among adjacent batteries are leveraged to detect an early-stage ISC fault. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method can quickly and accurately locate the position of 5 Ω, 10 Ω and 15 Ω ISC faulty batteries within the battery pack, as well as detect the abnormal batteries in a timely manner with considerable sensitivity and reliability. Purpose: To investigate the aging and fracture resistance of screw-retained implant-supported single crowns (iSCs) fabricated from lithium disilicate containing virgilite (VLD). Materials and Methods: iSCs were fabricated from VLD (CEREC Tessera, Dentsply Sirona) and lithium disilicate (control, n = 8; IPS e.max CAD, Ivoclar) and bonded to a Ti-base abutment. VLD crowns were luted either with (VLDc, n = 8) or without (VLDw, n = 8) a coupling agent. iSCs were cleaned, sterilized, and screw-retained on implants. Fracture force was determined after thermal cycling and mechanical loading (TCML). Results: All crowns survived TCML. No significant differences in mean fracture forces were identified between VLDc (1,583 N), VLDw (1,694 N), and control (1,797 N; P = .639 ANOVA, P = 1.000 Bonferroni). Conclusions: Screw-retained iSCs fabricated from VLD provide acceptable stability, which is independent on the usage of a coupling agent for bonding to Ti-base abutments and sterilization.
