Introduction. An investigation of student publication activity is an important element of the study of their research culture. The authors’ attention is focused on student publications in highly ranked journals reflecting the involvement of students in “adult” university science and making a serious contribution to it. A research on student publication activity is attracting considerable interest due to its significance for university scientific and educational practices, whereas this issue is not closely examined in theoretical and empirical terms.Aim. The present paper aims to consider the features of the publication activity of students of Russian universities in the segment of highly ranked journals. It is revealed by solving the following research issues: evaluation of students’ attitude to publication activity; characterisation of quantitative indicators of students’ publication activity in highly ranked journals; identification of the specifics of students’ publication activity depending on belonging to different fields of scientific knowledge, level of training and other indicators.Methodology and research methods. The article presents the results of an empirical study conducted in 2023 using the methods of an online survey of students of Russian universities localised in all federal districts (n = 3032 people), as well as applying content analysis of highly rated journals (indexed in RSCI, WoS, Scopus). The results and conclusions of the authors’ research are compared with Russian and foreign studies on similar topics.Results. The main results of the study are the characteristics of the place of publication activity in the general structure of students’ research activities. Despite the fact that the preparation of articles is one of the most popular forms of research, it is shown that a small number of students are involved in youth science on a permanent basis. It is concluded that the authors of publications in highly ranked journals represent a special group of students, distinguished by cognitive and motivational readiness for such activities.The article presents the features of the publication activity of a selected group of students: genderasymmetry (predominance of female students among authors); multiple authorship; an increase in the degree of publication activity from junior to senior courses, from bachelor’s degree (specialty) to master’s degree. The question of the ethical side of student publications is discussed. It is justified as a promising area of research.Various factors of success of student publications in the segment of highly ranked journals are discussed. The factors are as follows: involvement in research practices on a regular basis, the presence of a scientific mentor. In conclusion, the possibilities of using various theoretical frameworks for interpreting the publication activity of students are considered.Scientific novelty of the research consists in the introduction into scientific circulation of new empirical data representing the all-Russian situation with the publication activity of students of the first two levels of education (bachelor’s/specialist’s and master’s degree), as well as their interpretation in a comparative perspective with foreign studies.Practical significance of the article is the possibility of using the results and conclusions of the current study in the development of university programmes for involving students in research and scientific mentoring.

This paper examines in a mathematically simplified form the incentive system of publication activity adopted by Bulgarian universities. The methodology of the study is a mathematical analysis of a competitive game between multiple players. All proofs are made in the generalised case. It is shown that in this (and similar) mathematical form of the basic formula for calculating players’ rewards, there exists an optimal number of publications at which each player reaches his maximum profit. It is shown that if individual players do not cooperate but follow competitive behavior, they will realise their maximum profits in a Nash equilibrium. It is shown that in this equilibrium some players will prefer to have zero publication activity, which depends on the costs they incur for their publications. Easy done and cheap publications will be more competitive and more numerous. It has been shown that it is more profitable for players to cooperate and minimise the amount of publications rather than compete. Many Ukrainian and foreign scholars have been studying the problems of financing scientific activities for a long time. Moreover, such issues are even raised in the works of scholars from developed Western countries. The range of such studies is extremely wide: from analysing problems and violations of the above-mentioned principles of law to modelling innovative grant support systems, including those that model an equal and fair system. Foreign scientists mostly focus on the specifics of grant provision and its impact, improvement and innovation of the financial resource allocation system in the field of science, etc. In Ukraine, the vast majority of research is concerned with the comparative characteristics of the share of the gross domestic product allocated to science funding, general problems of international cooperation with foreign grant providers, improvement of the system of financial resources allocation in the field of science, etc. Unfortunately, no attention has been paid to specific mechanisms of rewarding publications in leading foreign scientific journals. This issue is no less important, since individual support for publication activity is a powerful “lever of encouragement” for researchers and academic staff, which directly affects the results of a particular institution in the chain of international and national rankings. In addition, such support contributes to the development of science, scientific and technological progress, and raises the country’s rating in the international arena. The article is devoted to the formulation of possible ways of solving the problem of proper State support and funding for publications of Ukrainian scholars in leading foreign professional journals in accordance with the following criteria: equal rights and opportunities to receive funding for publications in foreign professional journals from the State, regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, religious beliefs, social and property status, place of work, research topic, etc. funding for foreign professional publications is provided only to the scientist personally without the mediation of the institution where he/she works or third parties in order to increase his/her scientific efficiency and quality, to popularize Ukrainian science and to attract competitive international professionals to science; the funding of foreign professional publications should be set transparently. The mechanism for calculating the relevant funding has been formed. The definitions of the concepts “mechanism of state support and financing of publications of Ukrainian scientists in foreign professional journals included in leading international databases”, “leading international databases” and “foreign professional journal” have been proposed. The article analyses the publication activity (1996–2022) of Ukrainian scientists in scientific journals indexed in the international scientometric database Scopus.

In the situation of global threats and international social and economic pressure on the part of certain countries the development of science becomes very important for Russia and turns into a factor significant both for attaining national goals and effective adaptation to global challenges. In these circumstances the task of making subjects of academic research more acute with due account for national interests and global academic agenda acquires paramount importance. Such methods as qualitative and quantitative analysis, comparison, grouping, ranging and data aggregation were used in the research. The authors on the basis of SciVal data carried out a comparative analysis of subject priorities in academic research in Russian and the world that took into account publication activity indicators, top subject fields and topic clusters, which gave an opportunity to identify specificity of content trends of Russian science in view of global tendencies and find out promising lines of academic research. Sciencemetric tools were widely used for deep and detailed assessment of the most promising trends in academic research.

To inform a response to recent critiques of physical and health education (PHE) research activity within Canadian universities, this research inquired into peer-reviewed PHE publications by Canadian-based authors between 2010 and 2015 via an analysis of published research method framed within a 'health' metaphor. The three-phase method involved: (a) identifying Canadian-authored English-language PHE journal articles via targeted database keyword searches designed in consultation with an academic librarian and the Physical and Health Education Canada Research Council executive; (b) categorizing the publications by extracting data related to author affiliation, journal name, research question, and funding acknowledgement; and (c) conducting basic descriptive statistics to report findings on publication topics, authorship characteristics, journal outlets, and funding rates and sources. Results were interpreted through the lens of common criteria within Canadian tenure, promotion, and performance reviews for 'healthy' research publication activity: quantity of publications, prestige of publication outlets, knowledge mobilization to national and international practitioners and academics, and (external) funding. Findings revealed relatively 'healthy' measures of publication quantity, prestigious external funding, and nationally-focused knowledge mobilization to stakeholders inside and outside of academia. However, findings also revealed limits in the proportion of research published in prestigious journals and journals easily accessible to international audiences, both of which could be interpreted or represented (and subsequently weaponized) by others as 'illness'. While it is neither our aim, nor place, to prescribe a way forward -- as that is for the larger community of Canadian-based PHE scholars to consider together -- it is our hope that this research provides the descriptive data and reflection needed to inform the beginnings of evidence-based discussion, action, and advocacy regarding PHE research publication activity in Canada.

The numbers of publications within the field of research on approaches to address conflicts in schools is rapidly growing, and it is now important to map influential theories, methods and topics that shape this research field. In addition, student teachers, teachers and teacher educators would benefit from it being easier to find research-based knowledge of how to address conflicts in schools. Therefore, a bibliometric study was carried out on 1126 publications that were published between 1996 and 2019 in this field. The study aimed at examining publication activity, geographic spread, and dominant research topics. The findings showed a positive trend in publication output from 2006 onwards. Research output was found to be dominated by the United States. However, the results also indicated an internationalization trend expressed in an increased geographic spread of publication output. Furthermore, six research topics were identified through cluster analyses and labelled 'peace and value education', 'classroom management from coercive discipline to relationship building', 'constructive conflict resolution', 'classroom management programmes', 'restorative justices and restorative approaches', and 'classroom challenges for teachers'. Within each research topic, a distinct number of publications were found that defined the core research.

Due to the limited access to the Web of Science and Scopus, scientific libraries are forced to look for alternative sources of bibliometric information. There has appeared the need to revise the methods and tools for conducting scientometric research and assessing scientific activity in general. Specialists’ attention to the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) has especially increased, which now most fully reflects the Russian document flow on scientific publications and has the analytical capabilities necessary to work with bibliometric indicators. In the Central Scientific Library of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UB RAS), the methodology for scientometric analysis of the publication activity of scientific organizations of UB RAS has been reoriented to RSCI. The purpose of the study is to analyze the publication activity of a UB RAS scientific organization and test the RSCI tools for solving scientometric problems according to the developed methodology. The study revealed the need to revise the analysis criteria and methods of obtaining data according to the RSCI architecture. Conclusions are drawn on the effectiveness of RSCI tools for the purposes of the methodology, the correctness of the data obtained, and actions are proposed to improve the functionality of the system.

Objective: To study and evaluate the impact and/or connection between the financial motivation of the employees of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy (SKMA) and their scientific and publication activities. Methods: An analysis of the publication activity of SKMA employees for the 2018-2020 period was carried out. Based on the “Regulations on reimbursement of expenses and payment of remuneration for the publication of research results in the scientific journals and proceedings” developed in the SKMA, data from the accounting department of the SKMA, which made payments annually and quarterly, from 2018 to 2020, were used and processed. Results: While in 2018 the number of publications in the Scopus and Web of Science databases was 21, thereafter in 2019 this number was increased by 12.5%, and in 2020 – by 40% (compared to 2018). In 2021, there was a decrease in the total number of articles by 14.3% compared to 2020. However, the number of articles in the Q1-Q2 Web of Science journals in 2021 almost doubled compared to 2020. For publications in 2018, an amount of 1,076,350 tenge was paid in the form of remuneration, which in 2019 and 2020 increased to 1,300,120 and 1,845,480 tenge respectively. The aim of the study. Federal target program “Research and development in priority areas of development of the scientific and technological complex of Russia for 2014-2021” defines transport and space systems as a priority area of strategic importance for the country’s economy. The aim of the work is to study the state of research and development in the field of study and development of transport and space systems based on performance analysis, as well as to compare the effectiveness of scientific activities of educational organizations of higher education and scientific organizations in this area.Materials and methods. The information base of the study was statistical data and analytical information reflecting the state of research and development in the field of study and development of transport and space systems. The methodological base of the study is statistical methods of information analysis: analysis of variance, testing of statistical hypotheses, non-parametric criteria for comparing samples, analysis of time series, structural analysis.Results and discussion. The article reflects the results of the Institute for the Study of Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences monitoring the scientific potential of organizations conducting research and development in the priority area of scientific and technological development “Connectedness of the territory of the Russian Federation through the creation of intelligent transport and telecommunication systems, as well as the occupation and retention of leadership positions in the creation of international transport and logistics systems, the development and use of outer space and air space, the World Ocean, the Arctic and Antarctic”. This publication, in particular, analyzes the effectiveness of research and development in the priority area “Transport and space systems”.As a result of the analysis, conclusions were drawn about the main directions and trends of research and development in the field of studying and developing transport and space systems in Russia for the period 2015-2019. With the help of methods of dispersion analysis, nonparametric criteria, etc., a comparison was made of the effectiveness of scientific activity of educational organizations of higher education and scientific organizations.The analysis showed that international publishing analytical systems occupy a greater weight in the volume of publications compared to the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).Researchers of educational organizations of higher education have 5 times more publications than employees of scientific organizations, which can be explained by overestimated requirements for positions of faculty and the formation of “garbage” articles. In terms of citation, 2017 was the most successful year for Russian researchers in the field of transport and space systems. At the same time, the citation of researchers from educational organizations was 3-3.5 times higher in international publications and twice as high in RSCI publications. Scientific organizations in the field of scientific, design, technological works show much greater effectiveness and efficiency compared to educational institutions of higher education. For the period 2015-2019 a trend towards a decrease in the results of intellectual activity was revealed for all organizations under consideration.The analysis also showed the low performance of small innovative enterprises in this priority area for the period 2015-2019. In Russia, they have not received proper development. Dispersion analysis, testing of statistical hypotheses using nonparametric methods made it possible to compare the results of the activities of scientific organizations and organizations of higher education.Conclusions. Thus, one of the ways to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of science in Russia can be attributed to the revival of the system of research institutes, the activities of which would be aimed at meeting the specific scientific needs of the state.

Introduction: Life expectancy is getting longer, and the proportion of the elderly population is increasing. Therefore, the concept of healthy aging gains importance and attracts attention in the scientific community. This article presented a ten-year bibliometric analysis of articles on healthy aging in the Scopus database. Methods: The Scopus database was used for the bibliometric analysis. The publication list was created using the keywords «aging well» and «healthy aging.» The number of articles, active countries-journals, frequent keywords, prolific authors, and funding sources were defined. Results: An upward trend was observed in the number of articles related to healthy aging between 2013 and 2022. The five leading countries in publication activity were the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada, respectively. The most prolific authors were Ferrucci, L., Franceschi, C., Evans, M.K., Bennett, D.A., and Deary, I.J. The five most active journals were Plos One, Scientific Reports, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience. Conclusion: Bibliometric analysis is a valuable method for assessing global trends in producing scientific literature on particular topics. This study revealed an upward trend in articles on healthy aging over time, indicating an increasing interest and focus on this topic. As the elderly population grows, it is anticipated that interest in healthy aging will progressively increase. It will be advantageous for researchers interested in this field to establish collaborations with prominent authors and institutions. Thus, they will canalize their future investigation in the proper direction.

Background. Bibliographic analysis for the period 2017–2022 showed an extremely small number of literary sources (scientific publications) in both foreign and domestic periodicals, which would cover issues related to the consideration, study and/or analysis of any aspects of publication activity in the field of transplantology at the global, national and regional levels or in with respect to specific organizations, journals and authors. In Russian periodicals, the objects of research are often either various countries of the world (in comparative characteristics with Russia), or medical universities of the Russian Federation, or scientific medical organizations of federal designation, while there is a complete absence or a small number of publications devoted to the issues of publication activity of organizations at the level of the city of Moscow.Aim. Conducting a scientometric study to characterize, analyze and evaluate the publication activity of the Moscow Healthcare Department organizations in the subject area "Transplantation".Material and methods. The study was carried out for the subject area "Transplantation" using analytical platform SciVal for more than 10 quantitative and shared scientometric indicators (from 2019 to 2021) for 55 organizations from the categories of research institutes, scientific and practical centers and city clinical hospitals subordinated to the Moscow Healthcare Department.Results and discussion. The main scientometric indicators (in quantitative and fractional ratio) characterizing the publication activity over a three–year period – from 2019 to 2021 – in the subject area "Transplantation" in organizations subordinate to the Moscow Healthcare Department.Conclusion. It is shown that in the subject area "Transplantation" during the period under review, positive growth and changes in scientometric indicators such as the total number of publications, the number of publications in 1st–2nd quartiles, the number of publications in national and intraorganizational collaboration are observed for the Moscow Healthcare Department organizations.

Schizophrenia is a complicated mental condition marked by signs of psychosis, often leading to social and occupational decline. Schizophrenia has a complex etiology that is a result of the interplay between environmental factors (such as infectious illnesses) and a person's genetic disposition. Recent epidemiological research indicates that Toxoplasma gondii may cause schizophrenia. T. gondii-related studies in schizophrenia were the focus of this bibliometric analysis study. The Web of Science’s electronic database was used to find T. gondii-related studies in schizophrenia. Co-authorship analyses of countries and keyword co-occurrence analyses were carried out using the VOSviewer software. In this bibliometric study, the research topic of T. gondii-related publications in schizophrenia during the last 33 years has been laid out, with the nations, organizations, authors, journals, main keywords, citations, and the top documents contributing to the basic knowledge structure. The significant increase in yearly publications implies that this research area has acquired importance on a global scale, with the United States having the most articles. The main organizations and researchers working on T. gondii studies on schizophrenia have been identified by this study. The outcomes give a thorough overview of this study field's terrain.

Purpose of the work is to research of the world science publications dynamics on the synchronization. Methods. The research methods are the statistical methods of data processing. Results. The emphasis in the study of synchronization over the past twenty years has shifted from physical and technical sciences to neuroscience with Asian countries domination.

Scientific activity is one of the widely recognized sources of economic growth. Currently research is increasingly concentrating in universities. However, federal government policies were aimed at promoting science in Russian universities between the 2000s and 2010s and their consequences are difficult to interpret unambiguously, either positively or negatively. On the one hand, state policies were aimed at supporting universities; on the other hand, only the best universities received this support, which led, among other things, to a stratification of Russian regions in terms of the level of university science development. The solution to this problem is of great interest in terms of prioritizing public policy in support of research and its criteria, but so far these issues have not been sufficiently addressed in studies that include detailed empirical evidence. This article presents the results of an empirical study of the convergence of Russian regions in terms of the level of scientific development. Indicators of publication activity of universities for the period 2006-2015 aggregated at the regional level have been used to measure scientific development. The empirical estimation of convergence has been made on the basis of adapted methodology of economic convergence analysis, including the estimation of dynamic and spatial models of panel data by the system generalized method of moments. In general, the results obtained lad to the conclusion that there are processes of scientific convergence of Russian regions except for some sub-periods

Science plays an important role in the development of agriculture. Publication activity is one of the factors in the assessment of science intensity in certain areas. Evaluating the number of articles on a specific topic in a certain period can indicate a trend in developing science in the country and international cooperation. Agricultural science in Russia lags far behind leading topics such as chemistry and physics, especially in international cooperation. This article aimed to assess the publication activity in Russia in the area of agriculture to analyze the development of agricultural science in the country and the impact of the national project “Science” on the trend of change. The authors used the Web of Science Core Collection database for this study and analyzed 7,436 papers on the topic of agriculture co-authored by Russian and foreign authors. This study showed the number of articles by year, research areas, and distribution publication records in collaboration with other countries. The article results showed that agricultural science has been growing in a general trend in recent years. The most significant increase in the overall publication in agriculture topics and cooperation occurred after the project “Science” was launched. The project showed a great impact on publication activity in Russia.

The article discusses the current situation in the Russian higher school system related to the publication activity of faculty, including publications in journals indexed in international citation databases Scopus and Web of Science. The author argues that the vast majority of scientific and pedagogical workers of Russian universities, especially those teaching social and economic disciplines, are unable to provide the necessary number of such publications required by the administration, due to both organizational and financial reasons. In order to ensure at least a relative balance between the interests of the faculty and their employer, it is proposed to create new structural entities in large public and private universities – centers for support of the publication activity of teachers. The author has developed a project of standard organizational structure of management for this Center, as well as an algorithm of its work and the main functions of its divisions.

This paper presents the results of the publication activity research of scientists from Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including health science and medicine in the referenced databases Web of Science, Scopus, EBSCO Publishing and Springer Link. The issue of strategic and regulatory documents on the development of AI in the countries of Central Asia (CA) and measures for developing this area in the region was considered as well. From the scientometric review, it became known that in the aggregate, the Central Asian countries make an insignificant contribution to the development of AI, including the development of AI in medicine, if we consider the number of publications and their citations in databases at the time of the study in May-July 2021. It was recommended to multiply support for scientific research and publication activity of scientists in Central Asia to increase the regional contribution to the development of AI in medicine and healthcare.

Objective assessment of the results of scientific work, including the possibility of using the bibliometric (statistical, mathematical) assessment of publication activity, citation and, ultimately, the prestige of scholars, has been the subject of wide speculation in recent decades. The article presents the materials of a bibliometric analysis of publication activity and citation of well-known modern linguists, based on data from the Russian Science Citation Index. The article deals with bibliometric analysis of publication activity and citation rate of 25 contemporary Russian linguists according to the Russian Science Citation Index. The paper touches upon the ranking of Russian linguists by the number of publications and citations. This research examines the factors affecting citation rates: high prestige of relevant journals and publishers, involvement in leading research areas, carrying out scientific inquiries in top universities and academic research institutes.

Background: Scientometric analyses characterize the output of research publications using quantitative methods. While it has been reported that the number of publications in anesthesiology has been increasing for years, the global research activity in pediatric anesthesiology and its landscape is largely unknown., Aims: To examine the activity, developmental dynamics, and collaboration landscape of research publications in pediatric anesthesiology over the past two decades., Methods: PubMed and WebOfScience were searched for pediatric anesthesiology publications published between 2001 and 2020. The identified publications were exported into a database, matched, curated, and then assigned to one or more countries according to their affiliation field(s). The primary outcome was the publication activity and its growth rate. Secondary outcomes included the geographical distribution, the evolution of international collaborations (as indicated by articles affiliated with more than one country), and the main sources., Results: Thirty-four thousand, three hundred and forty-three pediatric anesthesiology publications were retrieved. The compound annual growth rate over the study period was +7.6%. The highest annual growth rate was +20.6% from 2019 to 2020. Corresponding authors were most often affiliated with USA (32.5%), Germany (5.5%), and China (5.5%). China (+22.9%), Iran (+21.7%), and India (+16.1%) had the highest compound annual growth rates. 6001 (17.5%) articles involved international collaboration, with a compound annual growth rate of +13.1%. The most frequent collaboration was between USA and Canada (716 articles together). The most prominent source was Pediatric Anesthesia (10.0%)., Conclusions: Publication activity in pediatric anesthesiology has increased from 2001 to 2020 and has become more geographically diverse. With the volume of international collaborations even outpacing this growth, it is hoped that this will gradually lead to a larger evidence base in pediatric anesthesia., (© 2023 The Authors. The increasing impact of scientometrics and formal approaches to science management distorts employee motivation, which, in turn, impedes the growth and accumulation of scientific knowledge. The paper aims to gauge public opinion on the paternalistic state activity in the field of science using the results of a sociological survey. The methodological basis includes the principles of paternalism and scientometric management. The study uses the results of the survey of the economic community held by the New Economic Association in 2022. The methods of regression analysis and factor analysis modified for multiway data were applied. Formalization and bureaucratization of science management processes are viewed within the framework of the well-known conflict between the Higher Attestation Commission and the RSCI, which created numerous barriers for researchers who prepared candidate and doctoral dissertations. To assess the attitude of experts to the current situation, it is necessary to obtain a constant sociological cross-section of opinions, if possible. Public monitoring of economic journals and the MW-analysis methodology made it possible to rank journals for the year of 2022. The compiled private and aggregate rankings contain information about the preferences of the economic community and are markedly different from the RSCI scientometric-based indicators. The paper also presents an expert assessment of the proposals for reforming the journal activity, in particular, the proposal of creating material incentives by research periodicals for scientists to prepare high-quality articles.

One of the seven target indicators of the National Science Project (NSP) is “The place of the Russian Federation by share in the total number of articles in the areas defined by the priorities of scientific and technological development in publications indexed in international databases”. The purpose of this study was to assess the basic value of this indicator for disciplines related to priority areas, according to the Strategy of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation. The volumes of publication flows of the Russian Federation in 112 disciplines are compared with a similar indicator of countries ranked fifth in the number of publications in the subject area under consideration, indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoS CC). A 5–10 fold lag of the Russian Federation was recorded for the most part of the priority areas identified by the passport of the NSP.

The introduction of an effective contract into the Russian public sector was due to the need to ensure compliance regarding wages and the quality of services provided. A review of existing studies on contract relationships within academia and practices to stimulate publication activity in Russian and foreign universities has shown that the key factors influencing scientific activity by university teachers are internal motivation, favorable academic environment, and relationships in a team. This paper analyzes two systems of stimulation of publication activity in higher education: a rating of scientific activity and a system of the effective contract. To analyze the introduction of an effective contract in educational organizations, researchers primarily use methods of content analysis of normative legal acts and sociological surveys. Based on data about the publication activity of teachers of the Institute over 6 years (3 years before the introduction of an effective contract and 3 years after), the authors conducted an econometric study of the impact of an effective contract on the quantity and quality of publications. To test the hypothesis the authors used a fixed effect model, a random effects model, and pooled ordinary least squares and least squares dummy variable. In this article the authors suggest a methodology for assessing the impact of an effective contract on the publication activity of university teachers. The authors conclude that salary and incentive payments, as well as participation in conferences and teacher training, have had a significant positive impact on the number of publications. The quality of publications was significantly influenced by incentive payments and professional development. The introduction of an effective contract had an impact only on the total number of publications.

The article considers the indicators of publication activity in 2013-2017 and citation of Russian scientists in the field of biology, mathematics, Geology and mechanics, reflected in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoS CC) and the Russian science citation index (RSCI). It is revealed, that due to the minimal representation of Russian journals in the WOS СС and the weak representation of Russian authors in English-language publications, their maximum indices of Hirsch and citation in the WoS CC in the field of biology, mathematics and mechanics are significantly less than the maximum indicators of these indices in the WOS CC system, except geology. At the same time, the maximum citation index for biology in the RSCI exceeds the same indicator for WoS CC twice, for the other three branches of science - 30-90 times. It is stated that the world scientific community is not receiving a significant amount of new information and knowledge created by Russian scientists and experts on the basis of their research.
