Collection of the Croatian Natural History Museum contains Miocene conifer fossil material from three regions in the Medvednica Mt. area: Podsused, Sveta Nedelja and Planina Gornja. This thesis includes descriptions and determination of 50 conifer residuals, as well as the revision of the existing classification. An overview of possible habitats is also proposed, as well as evidences about the climate changes during the Miocene epoch, based on the studied collection and available public data. There are eight different species of Pinus gender and one species of Larix and Cunninghamia genera, while some of the conifer residuals was determined as genera Pinus sp and Abies sp. Four species of conifers were found in the deposits of Karpatian-Lower Badenian while seven species were found in the Sarmatian deposits. It was very warm and humid during Karpatian and that was favorable to other plant groups, while the climate during the Sarmatian was warm but dry, because of that gymnosperms were varied and proportionately numerous, especially those of the Mediterranean type. Some conifer residuals that were described here have already been determined and their provision is further confirmed.
