On the capital market, price movements of stock corporations can be observed independent of overall market developments as a result of company-specific news, which suggests the occurrence of a sudden risk event. In recent years, numerous concepts from statistical physics have been transferred to econometrics to model these effects and other issues, e.g., in socioeconomics. Like other studies, we extend the approaches based on the “buy” and “sell” positions of agents (investors’ stance) with a third “hold” position. We develop the corresponding theory within the framework of the microcanonical and canonical ensembles for an ideal agent system and apply it to a capital market example. We thereby design a procedure to estimate the required model parameters from time series on the capital market. The aim is the appropriate modeling and the one-step-ahead assessment of the effect of a sudden risk event. From a one-step-ahead performance comparison with selected benchmark approaches, we infer that the model is well-specified and the model parameters are well determined.

Remimazolam is a new benzodiacepine that combines the pharmacological properties of two agents used in anesthesia: the hypnotic effect of midazolam and the metabolism of remifentanyl. Remimazolam is hydrolized by nonspecific tissue esterases into inactive metabolytes, allowing high clearance and fast recovery. Due to its pharmacological characteristics, it has been proposed as an ultra-short acting agent for sedation out operating room, induction and maintenance of anesthesia, as well as for sedation in the Intensive Care Unit. Remimazolam has an elevated safety profile, as it might that, it has less pronounced hemodynamic and cardiorespiratory effects in contrast to other drugs used in the same procedures. Like other benzodiacepines, remimazolam effects can be reversed with flumazenil. Background: The results of many studies designed to assess the effect of antihypertensive treatment have been, at first sight, disappointing with regard to expectations of a reduction in mortality due to coronary events. However, meta-analysis shows that there is a significant benefit, which is about two-thirds of that expected from the epidemiological data., Effects of Thiazide Diuretics: Older antihypertensive agents like thiazide diuretics have been shown to confer a degree of cardioprotection, although the mechanism of this effect is still unknown. Since these drugs have adverse effects on lipid and glucose metabolism, they are not (in theory) ideal agents, especially in younger patients. However, recent evidence suggests that these adverse effects may have been overemphasized., Effects of Newer Antihypertensive Agents: Newer agents, such as angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors and vasodilating beta-blockers, may have experimental and theoretical advantages over older agents but there are insufficient mortality data to allow firm conclusions., Conclusions: While it is clear that hypertension is a risk factor for cardiovascular mortality, the effect of specific antihypertensive treatments on coronary heart disease mortality is still unresolved. There is a critical need for data on mortality, comparing the newer agents with thiazide diuretics, now increasingly well proven.

Perioperative hypertension is primarily due to increased systemic vascular resistance (SVR). Therefore, the major therapeutic approaches are directed at reducing vasoconstriction, using drugs that increase cyclic nucleotides or block calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle. Nitroprusside and other nitric oxide-derived vasodilators affect both the resistance vessels and the vascular capacitance bed. Antihypertensive drugs that affect venous return can have unpredictable effects on blood pressure and calculated SVR. The new intravenous dihydropyridine calcium antagonists have arterial vasodilating actions and are especially promising as new therapeutic approaches for perioperative hypertension. Following coronary bypass-grafting, patients have undergone direct mechanical manipulation of their native grafts, coronary arteries, and internal mammary artery, creating a potential risk for coronary or internal mammary spasm. Calcium antagonists may be an important therapy for perioperative hypertension in such patients. Experimental models have demonstrated that calcium antagonists can attenuate the production of inflammatory mediators and thereby reduce cellular damage following reperfusion. These potential anti-inflammatory drugs may prove to offer additional benefits in the therapy of perioperative hypertension. The potential anti-inflammatory and cytoprotective effects of calcium antagonists may make them the ideal agents for the treatment of acute perioperative hypertension.
