We present proper genuine multipartite entanglement (GME) measures for arbitrary multipartite and dimensional systems. By using the volume of concurrence regular polygonal pyramid we first derive the GME measure of four-partite quantum systems. From our measure it is verified that the GHZ state is more entangled than the W state. Then we study the GME measure for multipartite quantum states in arbitrary dimensions. A well defined GME measure is constructed based on the volume of the concurrence regular polygonal pyramid. Detailed example shows that our measure can characterize better the genuine multipartite entanglements.

In this paper, we study a collection of mean-reflected backward stochastic differential equations driven by $G$-Brownian motions ($G$-BSDEs), where $G$-expectations are constrained in some time-dependent intervals. To establish well-posedness results, we firstly construct a backward Skorokhod problem with sublinear expectation, and then apply that in the study of doubly mean-reflected $G$-BSDEs involving Lipschitz and quadratic generators under bounded and unbounded terminal conditions. Also we utilize fixed-point argumentations and $\theta$-methods while solving these equations. Finally, we extend the results to multi-dimensional doubly mean-reflected $G$-BSDEs with diagonal generators.

In this paper, we study the multi-dimensional reflected backward stochastic differential equation driven by $G$-Brownian motion ($G$-BSDE) with a multi-variate constraint on the $G$-expectation of its solution. The generators are diagonally dependent on $Z$ and on all $Y$-components. We obtain the existence and uniqueness result via a fixed-point argumentation.

One significant advantage of superconducting processors is their extensive design flexibility, which encompasses various types of qubits and interactions. Given the large number of tunable parameters of a processor, the ability to perform gradient optimization would be highly beneficial. Efficient backpropagation for gradient computation requires a tightly integrated software library, for which no open-source implementation is currently available. In this work, we introduce SuperGrad, a simulator that accelerates the design of superconducting quantum processors by incorporating gradient computation capabilities. SuperGrad offers a user-friendly interface for constructing Hamiltonians and computing both static and dynamic properties of composite systems. This differentiable simulation is valuable for a range of applications, including optimal control, design optimization, and experimental data fitting. Heterogeneous chiplets have been proposed for accelerating high-performance computing tasks. Integrated inside one package, CPU and GPU chiplets can share a common interconnection network that can be implemented through the interposer. However, CPU and GPU applications have very different traffic patterns in general. Without effective management of the network resource, some chiplets can suffer significant performance degradation because the network bandwidth is taken away by communication-intensive applications. Therefore, techniques need to be developed to effectively manage the shared network resources. In a chiplet-based system, resource management needs to not only react in real-time but also be cost-efficient. In this work, we propose a reconfigurable network architecture, leveraging Kalman Filter to make accurate predictions on network resources needed by the applications and then adaptively change the resource allocation. Using our design, the network bandwidth can be fairly allocated to avoid starvation or performance degradation. Our evaluation results show that the proposed reconfigurable interconnection network can dynamically react to the changes in traffic demand of the chiplets and improve the system performance with low cost and design complexity.

Gender bias in vision-language models (VLMs) can reinforce harmful stereotypes and discrimination. In this paper, we focus on mitigating gender bias towards vision-language tasks. We identify object hallucination as the essence of gender bias in VLMs. Existing VLMs tend to focus on salient or familiar attributes in images but ignore contextualized nuances. Moreover, most VLMs rely on the co-occurrence between specific objects and gender attributes to infer the ignored features, ultimately resulting in gender bias. We propose GAMA, a task-agnostic generation framework to mitigate gender bias. GAMA consists of two stages: narrative generation and answer inference. During narrative generation, GAMA yields all-sided but gender-obfuscated narratives, which prevents premature concentration on localized image features, especially gender attributes. During answer inference, GAMA integrates the image, generated narrative, and a task-specific question prompt to infer answers for different vision-language tasks. This approach allows the model to rethink gender attributes and answers. Fluxonium qubits are recognized for their high coherence times and high operation fidelities, attributed to their unique design incorporating over 100 Josephson junctions per superconducting loop. However, this complexity poses significant fabrication challenges, particularly in achieving high yield and junction uniformity with traditional methods. Here, we introduce an overlap process for Josephson junction fabrication that achieves nearly 100% yield and maintains uniformity across a 2-inch wafer with less than 5% variation for the phase slip junction and less than 2% for the junction array. Our compact junction array design facilitates fluxonium qubits with energy relaxation times exceeding 1 millisecond at the flux frustration point, demonstrating consistency with state-of-the-art dielectric loss tangents and flux noise across multiple devices. This work suggests the scalability of high coherence fluxonium processors using CMOS-compatible processes, marking a significant step towards practical quantum computing.

In recent years, wide-area visual surveillance systems have been widely applied in various industrial and transportation scenarios. These systems, however, face significant challenges when implementing multi-object detection due to conflicts arising from the need for high-resolution imaging, efficient object searching, and accurate localization. To address these challenges, this paper presents a hybrid system that incorporates a wide-angle camera, a high-speed search camera, and a galvano-mirror. In this system, the wide-angle camera offers panoramic images as prior information, which helps the search camera capture detailed images of the targeted objects. This integrated approach enhances the overall efficiency and effectiveness of wide-area visual detection systems. Specifically, in this study, we introduce a wide-angle camera-based method to generate a panoramic probability map (PPM) for estimating high-probability regions of target object presence. Then, we propose a probability searching module that uses the PPM-generated prior information to dynamically adjust the sampling range and refine target coordinates based on uncertainty variance computed by the object detector. Finally, the integration of PPM and the probability searching module yields an efficient hybrid vision system capable of achieving 120 fps multi-object search and detection. Semantic communications offer promising prospects for enhancing data transmission efficiency. However, existing schemes have predominantly concentrated on point-to-point transmissions. In this paper, we aim to investigate the validity of this claim in interference scenarios compared to baseline approaches. Specifically, our focus is on general multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) interference channels, where we propose an interference-robust semantic communication (IRSC) scheme. This scheme involves the development of transceivers based on neural networks (NNs), which integrate channel state information (CSI) either solely at the receiver or at both transmitter and receiver ends. Moreover, we establish a composite loss function for training IRSC transceivers, along with a dynamic mechanism for updating the weights of various components in the loss function to enhance system fairness among users. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed IRSC scheme effectively learns to mitigate interference and outperforms baseline approaches, particularly in low signal-to-noise (SNR) regimes.

The evolution of Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT and GPT-4 has sparked discussions on the advent of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). However, replicating such advancements in open-source models has been challenging. This paper introduces InternLM2, an open-source LLM that outperforms its predecessors in comprehensive evaluations across 6 dimensions and 30 benchmarks, long-context modeling, and open-ended subjective evaluations through innovative pre-training and optimization techniques. The pre-training process of InternLM2 is meticulously detailed, highlighting the preparation of diverse data types including text, code, and long-context data. InternLM2 efficiently captures long-term dependencies, initially trained on 4k tokens before advancing to 32k tokens in pre-training and fine-tuning stages, exhibiting remarkable performance on the 200k ``Needle-in-a-Haystack" test. InternLM2 is further aligned using Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) and a novel Conditional Online Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (COOL RLHF) strategy that addresses conflicting human preferences and reward hacking. By releasing InternLM2 models in different training stages and model sizes, we provide the community with insights into the model's evolution.

We introduce an energy-efficient downlink rate splitting multiple access (RSMA) scheme, employing a simple matched filter (MF) for precoding. We consider a transmitter equipped with multiple antennas, serving several single-antenna users at the same frequency-time resource, each with distinct message requests. Within the conventional 1-layer RSMA framework, requested messages undergo splitting into common and private streams, which are then precoded separately before transmission. In contrast, we propose a novel strategy where only an MF is employed to precode both the common and private streams in RSMA, promising significantly improved energy efficiency and reduced complexity. We demonstrate that this MF-precoded RSMA achieves the same delivery performance as conventional RSMA, where the common stream is beamformed using maximal ratio transmission (MRT) and the private streams are precoded by MF. Taking into account imperfect channel state information at the transmitter, we proceed to analyze the delivery performance of the MF-precoded RSMA. We derive the ergodic rates for decoding the common and private streams at a target user respectively in the massive MIMO regime. Mittag-Leffler correlated noise (M-L noise) plays a crucial role in the dynamics of complex systems, yet the scientific community has lacked tools for its direct generation. Addressing this gap, our work introduces GenML, a Python library specifically designed for generating M-L noise. We detail the architecture and functionalities of GenML and its underlying algorithmic approach, which enables the precise simulation of M-L noise. The effectiveness of GenML is validated through quantitative analyses of autocorrelation functions and diffusion behaviors, showcasing its capability to accurately replicate theoretical noise properties. Our contribution with GenML enables the effective application of M-L noise data in numerical simulation and data-driven methods for describing complex systems, moving beyond mere theoretical modeling., Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures

Large language models (LLMs) are highly effective in various natural language processing (NLP) tasks. However, they are susceptible to producing unreliable conjectures in ambiguous contexts called hallucination. This paper presents a new method for evaluating LLM hallucination in Question Answering (QA) based on the unanswerable math word problem (MWP). To support this approach, we innovatively develop a dataset called Unanswerable Math Word Problem (UMWP) which comprises 5200 questions across five categories. We developed an evaluation methodology combining text similarity and mathematical expression detection to determine whether LLM considers the question unanswerable. The results of extensive experiments conducted on 31 LLMs, including GPT-3, InstructGPT, LLaMA, and Claude, demonstrate that in-context learning and reinforcement learning with human feedback (RLHF) training significantly enhance the model's ability to avoid hallucination. We show that utilizing MWP is a reliable and effective approach to assess hallucination. Spinal metastasis is the most common disease in bone metastasis and may cause pain, instability and neurological injuries. Early detection of spinal metastasis is critical for accurate staging and optimal treatment. The diagnosis is usually facilitated with Computed Tomography (CT) scans, which requires considerable efforts from well-trained radiologists. In this paper, we explore a learning-based automatic bone quality classification method for spinal metastasis based on CT images. We simultaneously take the posterolateral spine involvement classification task into account, and employ multi-task learning (MTL) technique to improve the performance. MTL acts as a form of inductive bias which helps the model generalize better on each task by sharing representations between related tasks. Based on the prior knowledge that the mixed type can be viewed as both blastic and lytic, we model the task of bone quality classification as two binary classification sub-tasks, i.e., whether blastic and whether lytic, and leverage a multiple layer perceptron to combine their predictions. In order to make the model more robust and generalize better, self-paced learning is adopted to gradually involve from easy to more complex samples into the training process. The proposed learning-based method is evaluated on a proprietary spinal metastasis CT dataset. At slice level, our method significantly outperforms an 121-layer DenseNet classifier in sensitivities by $+12.54\%$, $+7.23\%$ and $+29.06\%$ for blastic, mixed and lytic lesions, respectively, meanwhile $+12.33\%$, $+23.21\%$ and $+34.25\%$ at vertebrae level.

Vertebral body (VB) segmentation is an important preliminary step towards medical visual diagnosis for spinal diseases. However, most previous works require pixel/voxel-wise strong supervisions, which is expensive, tedious and time-consuming for experts to annotate. In this paper, we propose a Weakly supervised Iterative Spinal Segmentation (WISS) method leveraging only four corner landmark weak labels on a single sagittal slice to achieve automatic volumetric segmentation from CT images for VBs. WISS first segments VBs on an annotated sagittal slice in an iterative self-training manner. This self-training method alternates between training and refining labels in the training set. Then WISS proceeds to segment the whole VBs slice by slice with a slice-propagation method to obtain volumetric segmentations. We evaluate the performance of WISS on a private spinal metastases CT dataset and the public lumbar CT dataset. On the first dataset, WISS achieves distinct improvements with regard to two different backbones. For the second dataset, WISS achieves dice coefficients of $91.7\%$ and $83.7\%$ for mid-sagittal slices and 3D CT volumes, respectively, saving a lot of labeling costs and only sacrificing a little segmentation performance., Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1412.7062 by other authors

Fast and high-fidelity qubit initialization is crucial for low-frequency qubits such as fluxonium, and in applications of many quantum algorithms and quantum error correction codes. In a circuit quantum electrodynamics system, the initialization is typically achieved by transferring the state between the qubit and a short-lived cavity through microwave driving, also known as the sideband cooling process in atomic system. Constrained by the selection rules from the parity symmetry of the wavefunctions, the sideband transitions are only enabled by multi-photon processes which requires multi-tone or strong driving. Leveraging the flux-tunability of fluxonium, we circumvent this limitation by breaking flux symmetry to enable an interaction between a non-computational qubit transition and the cavity excitation. With single-tone sideband driving, we realize qubit initialization with a fidelity exceeding 99% within a duration of 300 ns, robust against the variation of control parameters. Furthermore, we show that our initialization scheme has a built-in benefit in simultaneously removing the second-excited state population of the qubit, and can be easily incorporated into a large-scale fluxonium processor.

We propose a scheme for realizing broadband and tunable transmission non-reciprocity by utilizing two-photon near-resonant transitions in thermal atoms as single-photon far-detuned transitions can be eliminated. Our basic idea is to largely reduce the Doppler broadenings on a pair of two-photon, probe and coupling, transitions and meanwhile make the only four-photon transition Doppler-free (velocity-dependent) for a forward (backward) probe field. One main advantage of this scheme lies in that the transmission non-reciprocity can be realized and manipulated in a frequency range typically exceeding $200$ MHz with isolation ratio above $20$ dB and insertion loss below $1.0$ dB by modulating an assistant field in frequency and amplitude. The intersecting angle between four applied fields also serves as an effective control knob to optimize the nonreciprocal transmission of a forward or backward probe field, e.g. in a much wider frequency range approaching $1.4$ GHz.

Information geometry is the application of differential geometry in statistics, where the Fisher-Rao metric serves as the Riemannian metric on the statistical manifold, providing an intrinsic property for parameter sensitivity. In this paper, we explore the Fisher-Rao metric with the non-Hermitian systems. By approximating the Lindblad master equation in the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian, we calculate the time evolution of the quantum geometric metric. Finally, we give an example of the quantum spin Ising model of the imaginary magnetic field, explore the energy spectrum of $\mathcal{PT}$-symmetric Hamiltonian and the evolution of geometric metric, and discuss that the dissipative effect of the imaginary magnetic field can be eliminated under the condition of adding the control Hamiltonian, so as to improve the accuracy of parameter estimation.

This paper answers a fundamental question about the exact distribution of the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) under matched-filter (MF) precoding. Specifically, we derive the exact expressions for the cumulative distribution function (CDF) and the probability density function (PDF) of SINR under MF precoding over Rayleigh fading channels. Based on the exact analysis, we then rigorously prove that the SINR converges to some specific distributions separately in high SNR and in massive MIMO. To simplify the exact result in general cases, we develop a good approximation by modelling the interference as a Beta distribution. We then shift to the exact analysis of the transmit rate, and answer the fundamental question: How does the exact rate converge to the well-known asymptotic rate in massive MIMO? After that, we propose a novel approximation for the ergodic rate, which performs better than various existing approximations. The polar wavelet transform (PWT) has been proven to be a powerful mathematical tool for signal and image processing in recent years. Due to the increasing demand for directional representations of signals in engineering, it is impossible to fully exploit the intrinsic directional features of signals to describe high-dimensional signals like images. Focusing on this problem, the polar linear canonical wavelet transform (PLCWT) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the theory of the PLCWT is investigated in detail, including its definition, basic properties and inversion formula. Secondly, the convolution and correlation theorems of the PLCWT are derived. Thirdly, uncertainty principles related to the PLCWT are obtained. Finally, the potential application of the PLCWT in image edge detection is discussed. The nonvolatile magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM) is believed to facilitate emerging applications, such as in memory computing, neuromorphic computing and stochastic computing. Two dimensional (2D) materials and their van der Waals heterostructures promote the development of MRAM technology, due to their atomically smooth interfaces and tunable physical properties. Here we report the all-2D magnetoresistive memories featuring all electrical data reading and writing at room temperature based on WTe2/Fe3GaTe2/BN/Fe3GaTe2 heterostructures. The data reading process relies on the tunnel magnetoresistance of Fe3GaTe2/BN/Fe3GaTe2. The data writing is achieved through current induced polarization of orbital magnetic moments in WTe2, which exert torques on Fe3GaTe2, known as the orbit transfer torque (OTT) effect. In contrast to the conventional reliance on spin moments in spin transfer torque and spin orbit torque, the OTT effect leverages the natural out of plane orbital moments, facilitating field-free perpendicular magnetization switching through interface currents. Our results indicate that the emerging OTT MRAM is promising for low power, high performance memory applications.

World's first 1.3 GHz cryomodule containing eight 9-cell superconducting radio-frequency (RF) cavities treated by medium-temperature furnace baking (mid-T bake) was developed, assembled and tested at IHEP for the Dalian Advanced Light Source (DALS) and CEPC R&D. The 9-cell cavities in the cryomodule achieved an unprecedented highest average Q0 of 3.8E10 at 16 MV/m and 3.6E10 at 21 MV/m in the horizontal test. The cryomodule can operate stably up to a total CW RF voltage greater than 191 MV, with an average cavity CW accelerating gradient of more than 23 MV/m. The results significantly exceed the specifications of CEPC, DALS and the other high repetition rate free electron laser facilities (LCLS-II, LCLS-II-HE, SHINE, S3FEL). There is evidence that the mid-T bake cavity may not require fast cool-down or long processing time in the cryomodule.
