The article reports on the upgrades to the no-cost Missouri Bar legal research member benefit launched by vLex Fastcase, a legal research platform. Among the upgrades offered to members are the Cert citator or combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and a human editorial review of citations, Vincent AI platform for creation of headnotes for judicial opinions and finding references, streamlined design, and access to up-to-date judicial opinions, statutes and regulations.

The article discusses use of artificial-intelligence (AI) tools by lawyers in the delivery of legal services. Topics include use of AI for legal research, drafting, contract management, and litigation strategy, the ethical responsibilities of lawyers, violation of unauthorized practice of law (UPL), and American Bar Association's Model Rules of Professional Conduct.

Seagrasses are considered to be globally important for carbon sequestration and they provide a range of ecosystem services. However, they are also known to be vulnerable to various anthropogenic activities, not least bottom contacting fishing gears such as dredging and potting. We set out to test the effects of dredge fishing, in early spring and potting in late summer, in a historically fished but considered "pristine" seagrass meadow on the west coast of Ireland. We found that despite dredging and potting pressures, growth of seagrasses was driven by seasonal changes in light and temperature and that neither fishing activity had any effect on rhizome weight or shoot or blade densities during the growing season. We hypothesize that it is possible for fishing to co‐occur with seagrass if fishing activities are restricted to winter or early spring, before the main seagrass growing season, and/or if particular types of gear, such as the traditional gears described here are used. High levels of dredging and potting had positive increases in the count of both sessile and mobile epifauna suggesting that for mobile species at least, they may take advantage of post‐fishing scavenging opportunities. A controlled case study was conducted of effects of EEG alpha and theta brainwave training with a recovering alcoholic patient who experienced craving and fear of relapse after 18 months of abstinence. Training consisted of six sessions of thermal biofeedback to increase central nervous system (CNS) relaxation. Effects were documented with pretreatment and post-treatment personality testing, 20-channel digitized EEG evaluations both under relaxed conditions and under stress, minute-by-minute physiologic recordings of autonomic and EEG data during each training session, blood pressure, and heart rate indications taken both during relaxation and under stress, and by clinical observation. Results replicated those of a previous controlled study with chronic alcoholic patients not abstinent prior to treatment. New findings include post-treatment indications of more relaxed CNS functioning under stress, and of reduced autonomic activation both during relaxation and under stress. Brain-mapping indications of anxiety associated with painful cold-pressor stimulation were seen only in the pretest readings; at post-test the brain map indicated pain-associated EEG activity in the contralateral somatosensory area, but no apparent anxiety-associated EEG activity. At 4 months post-treatment the patient's wife and colleagues report the patient appears to function in a more relaxed way under the impact of stress, and he reports no longer experiencing craving for alcohol. Overall, support is provided for the possibility that alpha and theta brainwave training may be a useful intervention for the abstinent alcoholic experiencing stress-related craving and fear of relapse.

This paper utilises Stephanie Paterson's empathic policy analysis framework as it explores the discursive co nstruction of political leadership. The research focuses on the empathy French President Emmanuel Macron used during his public speech, delivered on October 12, 2023. The study identifies two emotional discourses that shape this representation of empathetic political leadership. The article analyses the assumptions underpinning this representation and the silences (that which has been left unspoken or implied) associated with it, as well as important implications for people's lives. Performance in the enterprise expresses not only the decrease of the cost-value pair, but everything that brings to the fore its efficiency and effectiveness, materialized in indicators. Performance management is a specialized form of general management that focuses on increasing performance in the organization, a process based on a specific system of principles and rules, methods, techniques and tools. Within management scholarship and practice, corporate community investments are heralded as an important form of corporate social responsibility. Yet, community development scholars have engaged in discourse and debate regarding corporate community investment, surmising that in some instances it does more harm than good. Where management research has not focused--and can substantially contribute to both theory and practice--is on how to implement corporate community investment for mutual gain. Integrating the fields of management and community development, I provide an evidence-based theory for understanding corporate community codevelopment, addressing relational and psychological pathways for behavioral change. This model emerged from a longitudinal qualitative ethnographic study of corporate-community investment programs, involving 1,176 hours of observations, 63 interviews, as well as narratives and reflections from participants representing 11 large corporations, at-risk remote Indigenous Australian communities, and a nonprofit organization. The 35 programs in focus involved initiatives such as family income management, educational trusts, literacy programs, and nutritional and substance abuse campaigns. The results in competency-building and community development have exceeded the expectations of all parties. English-architecture company law describes the distinct and diverse group of company or corporate law used in more than sixty jurisdictions worldwide. English-architecture company law provides a robust platform for innovation and development due to its permissive structure, opportunity for choice of law in an entity's internal governance, and scalability permitting variation for small and large entities. It is the dominant form among International Financial Centers (IFCs), many of which have legal systems with a British connection. This body of law responds to competition and maintains dynamism by engaging its practice community through "learning by doing" and "frictioneering." An architectural approach permits a broader review of developments in company law that more closely captures the reality of global law practice. The IFC experience of climbing the value chain from tax arbitrage to provide solutions for entities or structures left out in the corporate law of larger jurisdictions provides a useful global governance model to maintain normative, jurisprudential, and regulatory coherence even as it responds to more specialized and unanticipated needs. The mode of teaching and learning had been drastically changed over the decades. Therefore, one approach might not fit into all scenarios. Collaborative learning promotes collaboration between the students in completing given tasks with common goals. In this paper, problem statements were formed: (i) the collaboration between students and their teachers in the virtual learning environment has been at the bare minimum, (ii) the learning management system implemented has not been fully utilised with the data and information collected academically. Moreover, systematic literature review (SLR) is practised to investigate insights about collaborative learning, learning management system (LMS) and analytical approaches for student profiling. The aim of this paper is to address three research questions formed in the SLR: (i) What is the most commonly practised methodology for collaborative learning? (ii) What are the typical practised analytical methods and models for student profiling? and (iii) What factors influence students to use the learning management system? Besides, collaborative learning enables the students to conduct group discussions and assignments, promoting mutual interactions and creating knowledge amongst them. Additionally, the third-party LMS lacks synchronous chat feature. A student's profile grants educators valuable insights into the student's academic performance and learning progress. This information contributes to predicting the student's performance with the assistance of analytical approaches applied. The applied analytical approaches provide useful information about the student's learning behaviour, allowing the teachers to take adequate action. As a result, a conceptual framework is constructed with hypotheses formulated, reflecting the relations between each construct. Besides, a dedicated collaborative learning management system with machine learning capabilities is an ideal solution, tackling students' collaboration among peers and between teachers with their academic performance and behaviour taken into account. Bachofen and other evolutionary theorists gave an elaborate narration on how matriarchy began, rose, fell and was replaced by patriarchy. The conclusion is that patriarchy is superior to matriarchy and thus, is the culmination of human development. This position justifies male supremacy and the exploitive and domineering character of patriarchy. Feminism arose to fight for the equality of men and women in society. This research examines matriarchy in the traditional African worldview. Using the method of hermeneutics, the research attempts to interpret available data on the subject matter in accordance with the present reality. The research tries to address these issues: what is the meaning of matriarchy in traditional Africa? In traditional Africa, is matriarchy inferior and in opposition to patriarchy as seen in the Western world? Would feminism have risen in traditional Africa? And how can matriarchy in traditional Africa enrich contemporary feminism? The research finds out that in traditional Africa both patriarchy and matriarchy are like two sides of a coin: they interacted, intersected and checked and balanced each other in their different but related spheres of power and influence through the principle of complementarity. The research finds out that contemporary feminism is being entrapped in the same flaws it accuses patriarchy of-flaws of exclusion. The research concludes that contemporary feminism needs to understand and apply the principle of complementarity in its approach for it to succeed in its fight for the equality of men and women in contemporary society.
