Maternal depression and anxiety are associated with infant and mother self- and interactive difficulties. Although maternal depression and anxiety usually co-occur, studies taking this comorbidity into account are few. Despite some literature, we lack a detailed understanding of how maternal depressive and anxiety symptoms may be associated with patterns of mother-infant interaction. We examined associations of maternal postpartum depressive and anxiety symptoms with infant and mother self- and interactive patterns by conducting multi-level time-series models in a sample of 56 Turkish mothers and their 4-month infants. Time-series models assessed the temporal dynamics of interaction via infant and mother self- and interactive contingency. Videotaped face-to-face interaction was coded on a 1s time base for infant and mother gaze and facial affect, infant vocal affect, and mother touch. Results indicated that mothers with high depressive symptoms were vulnerable to infants looking away, reacting with negative touch; their infants remained affectively midrange, metaphorically distancing themselves from mothers' affect. Mothers with high anxiety symptoms were vulnerable to infants becoming facially dampened and mothers reacted with negative facial affect. Altered infant and mother self-contingency patterns were largely opposite for maternal depressive and anxiety symptoms. These patterns describe foundational processes by which maternal postpartum mood is transmitted to the infant and which may affect infant development.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of Client Attachment to Therapist Scale (CATSTR) which provides a framework for measuring and conceptualizing the relationship between the therapist and the client., Method: The study included 191 individuals with a mean age of 24.41 years who had received a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 sessions of therapy for different psychological problems. All participants completed the CATS-TR, the Early Close Relationships-R (ECR-R), the Bell Object Relations Inventory (BORRTI), and the Working Alliance Inventory (WAI-SF), and a Client Information Form handed to the clients in a closed envelope by their respective therapists., Results: Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis results indicated an acceptable fit for the CATS-TR which comprised the Secure, Fearful/Avoidant and Preoccupied/Merger subscales, with internal consistency levels ranging between 0.71 and 0.85. Criterion validity analyses showed that the scores on the CATS-TR Fearful/Avoidant and Preoccupied/Merger subscales correlated with the scores on the ECR-R Avoidance/Anxiety subdimesnions and the BORRTI Object Relations subdimension in the expected directions. Also, the mean score on the CATS-TR Secure Attachment subscale was a significant predictor of the therapeutic alliance assessed by the WAI-SF and its subscales., Conclusion: This study has demonstrated that the CATS-TR has an acceptable level of validity and reliability with results indicating its usefulness for research and clinical settings in Turkey investigating the common factors bringing about change in psychotherapy.

Objective: The aim of this research was to assess gaze behaviors and facial affect expressions in mother-infant interaction within the frame of self-contingency and interactive contingency, reflecting self-regulation and interactive regulation, respectively. In Model 1, second-by-second changing gaze behaviors (on partner's face/off partner's face) and in Model 2, facial affect expressions (from positive to negative) were examined. Self-contingency reflects the variability or stability in gaze directions and facial affect expressions in each partner. Interactive contingency reflects the degree of mother-infant gaze and facial affect attunement or interactive regulation relative to each other., Method: Sample was composed of 56 healthy mother-infant dyads. All infants were 4 months old, and mean maternal age was 29.61 (SD=3.71). Mother-infant interactions were filmed at the lab. Interactions were coded second-by-second for mother-infant gaze behaviors and facial affect expressions with video microanalysis method. The analysis method was multilevel-multivariate time series analysis., Results: According to Model 1-2, mother-infant gaze behaviors and facial affect expressions were neither too stable nor too variable, rather, the change in gaze behaviors and facial affect expressions in each partner showed predictable patterns. Mothers regulated their gaze behaviors and facial affect expressions in relation to that of their infants. Infants regulated their facial affect expressions in relation to their mothers' facial affect expressions, but infant gaze interactive contingency to mother gaze was marginally significant., Conclusion: In interactions, infants and mothers regulate the rhythms of their own behavior and at the same time contingently coordinate with that of the partner. This bi-directionally regulating environment is the foundation of infants' relationship expectations and bio-socialbehavioral regulation capacity, which may be related to psychopathology in future.

Objective: This study aimed to build and examine the Turkish Working Alliance Inventory (WAI) short form which was originally developed by Horvath and Greenberg (1989) based on Bordin's pan-theoretical conceptualization of therapeutic alliance., Method: The Hacettepe University Psychotherapy Research Laboratory data set which included the masters's or doctoral level clinical psychology practitioners- patient pairs (83 sessions from 58 therapist and 83 patient). Short forms (e.g. therapist-client versions) that were built based on Tracey and Kokotovic's (1989) and Hatcher and Gillaspy's (2006) studies were analyzed with confirmatory factor analysis approach. During these analyses, the WAI measurements from the third sessions were based., Results: Confirmatory factor analysis results showed that the short forms which were suggested in the aforementioned literature, had good fit for both therapist and patient sample. Correlations between original Turkish forms and subscales, internal consistency levels and fit indices were reviewed together to reach a final decision. The short form which was suggested by Tracey and Kokotovic showed more appropriate statistical results. The final forms' Cronbach Alpha's levels were 0.90 and 0.86 for therapist and patient forms respectively., Conclusion: Considering consistency with the observer form items (Soygüt and Uluç 2009) addition to inter-correlations, internal consistency levels and fit indices, the WAI-Short Forms were built    for therapist and patient. Our findings suggested that the WAI-Short Forms for therapist and patient have acceptable levels of reliability and validity for clinical and research settings in Turkey.

Background: Previous research has suggests that cooperative learning methods and the development of fundamental motor skills support children's cognitive development, and further studies covering various aspects are recommended. In this study, as an alternative to traditional physical education classes including fundamental motor skill activities, we investigated the impact of cooperative learning methods incorporating these skills on children's visual-motor integration and selective attention. Methods: A total of 60 boy children in the 10–11 age range were included in the study. Groups; classical method (10.95 ± 0.58age), and cooperative learning group (10.91 ± 0.42age). The study spanned a total of 24 physical education class hours. While the classical method group continued to attend physical education lessons with an FMS-based prepared program for 8 weeks, cooperative learning group participated in an FMS-based program prepared according to the cooperative learning method (40min/3days/8weeks).At the beginning and end of the study, children underwent the Bender-Gestalt test and the d2 test of attention. Results: Within-group pre-post test comparisons revealed improvement in visual-motor integration and selective attention for both the classical method and cooperative learning groups. In between-group post-test comparisons, the cooperative learning group demonstrated greater improvement in visual-motor integration and selective attention parameters compared to the classical method. Conclusion: The results support increasing the inclusion of fundamental motor skill activities in physical education classes and advocating for the use of cooperative learning methods in these classes. Enhancements in visual-motor integration and selective attention may contribute to children forming quality relationships, enjoying activities, learning stress management, and developing as a group. Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the MMPI Lineer T scores and MMPI-2 Uni form T scores in Turkish Sample., Method: 50 adult (30 female and 20 male) who volunteered to participate in the study completed MMPI and MMPI-2. Participants'' age ranged from 18 to 55 (X=24.96, SD=8.66). There were at least 3 weeks between two tests' application. MMPI lineer Tscore, MMPI-2 uni form Tscore and MMPI-2 lineer T score compared by 3X2 Repeated-measures ANOVA., Result: According to the results there were not significant difference between the mean scores' of MMPI and MMPI-2's sub scales. Change in number of item and content did not lead to significant difference. However the minimal differences were thought to based on the method of computing T scores. Also, in Hypochondriasis, Depression and Hysteria sub scales of MMPI-2 there were group differences among men and women., Discussion: These findings supported the idea about the psychometric equivalence of the Original MMPI and MMPI-2. Also there were no profile differences between two tests. Therefore the results support the idea knowledge of old profiles can be used in new ones. However during the transition from MMPI to MMPI-2, it may be helpful to alert about differences in some subscales for women.

This study aimed to compare the quality of life of children and adolescents in various stages of their chronic kidney disease (CKD) who were managed with different treatment modalities to that of children and adolescents without any chronic disease. The study included 18 renal transplant and 21 dialysis patients (8 on hemodialysis, 13 on peritoneal dialysis) and 16 patients who did not yet require renal replacement therapy. The control group consisted of 37 children without any chronic disease. Psychosocial Health Summary scores, Physical Health Summary scores, and Total Scale scores of Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory scores were estimated for the groups. CKD patients had lower scores in all scales of Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory than the control group. There were no differences in self-reported scores on the Pediatric Quality of Life scale scores between treatment groups; however, parents of the transplant patients had reported higher (more favorable) Physical Health Summary scores than those of the dialysis patients. Reports of parents and their children differed only in Physical Health Summary scores in the dialysis group; self-reports of the children were more favorable. These findings show that children and adolescents with CKD experience impaired quality of life on the physical and psychosocial functioning domains in comparison with healthy controls. The study findings implicate the need for further studies to investigate the quality of life in CKD patients at different stages as well as the perceptional differences between pediatric and adolescent CKD patients and caregiver proxy-reports about their quality of life.

Objective: This study aimed to examine the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the Working Alliance Inventory-Observer Form (WAI-O) (Titchenor and Hill, 1989)., Method: The study included 18 videotape records of 6 therapists conducting short-term cognitive behavioral therapy. The videotape records were chosen randomly from the pool of Hacettepe University Psychotherapy Research Laboratory (HU-PRL) and coded by 3 judges. Intra-class correlation (ICC) coefficients for the scale were calculated using the average measure method to determine the inter judge reliability coefficients for the data obtained from the 3 judges., Results: The ICC coefficients were 0.73, 0.70, and 0.78 for the bond, goal, and task dimensions, respectively. The ICC coefficient was 0.75 for the inventory total score. The internal validity of the scale was alpha=0.90. The item total correlation ranged between 0.84 and 0.96., Discussion: On a preliminary basis our findings indicate that the Turkish version of the WAI-O Short Form has acceptable levels of reliability and validity for clinical and research use in Turkey.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of the Turkish Cognitive Therapy Adherence and Competence Scale (CTACS) (Liese, Barber, and Beck, 1995). The scale is based on the evaluation of video taped therapy sessions using a certain coding system., Method: In the content validity study, 4 judges placed items within the intended theoretical construct with a high degree of consensus. In the following part of the study, 2 judges coded 20 video taped therapy sessions randomly selected from a pool recorded at the Hacettepe University Psychotherapy Research Laboratory., Results: The internal validity of the scale was alpha=0.84 for adherence and alpha=0.83 for competence. The intra-class correlation (ICC) coefficients were calculated using the absolute consensus method to determine inter-judge reliability coefficients for the data obtained from 2 judges. Mean ICC was 0.70 for the adherence dimension and 0.60 for the competence dimension. The relationship between adherence and competence was examined using Pearson's correlation coefficients, which were r=0.95 (n=20, P<0.001) for the first judge, r=0.97 (n=20, P<0.001) for the second judge, and r=0.95 for both judges., Conclusion: As preliminary evidence our findings suggest that the Turkish CTACS has acceptable levels of content validity and inter-judge reliability for use in clinical and research settings.

Objective: Examination of the psychometric properties and content areas of the revised MMPI's (MMPI-2 [Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2]) content scales is required. In this study the criterion-related validity of the MMPI-2 Depression, Anxiety, and Anger Content scales was examined using the following conceptually relevant scales: The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), and State Triad Anger Scale (STAS)., Method: MMPI-2 Depression, Anxiety, and Anger Content scales, and BDI, BAI, and STAS were administered to a sample of 196 students at Middle East Technical University (n= 196; 122 female, 74 male). Regression analyses were performed to determine if these conceptually relevant scales contributed significantly beyond the content scales. The MMPI-2 Depression Content Scale was compared to BDI, the MMPI-2 Anxiety Scale was compared to BAI, and the MMPI-2 Anger Content Scale was compared to STAS., Results: The internal consistency of the MMPI-2 Depression Content Scale (alpha = 0.82), the MMPI-2 Anxiety Content Scale (alpha = 0.73), and the MMPI-2 Anger Content Scale (alpha = 0.72) was obtained. Criterion validity of the 3 analyzed content scales was demonstrated for both males and females., Conclusion: The findings indicated that (1) the MMPI-2 Depression Content Scale provides information about the general level of depression, (2) the MMPI-2 Anxiety Content Scale assesses subjective anxiety rather than somatic anxiety, and (3) the MMPI-2 Anger Content Scale may provide information about the potential to act out. The findings also provide further evidence that the 3 conceptually relevant scales aid in the interpretation of MMPI-2 scores by contributing additional information beyond the clinical scales.

Emerging adults often use social media as a platform for exploration, but the usage is associated with various negative impacts, particularly regarding others' judgments, which can lead to social anxiety. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the influence of husnuzan and social comparison on social anxiety among emerging adults social media users. The participants were individuals in emerging adulthood, aged 18-29 years, residing in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Moreover, the Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure, Husn al-Zhan Scale, and Social Anxiety Scales for Social Media Users were used. A multiple regression analysis was carried out to explore the relationship between the three variables. The proposed hypothesis states that husnuzan and social comparison influence social anxiety. The results showed that husnuzan and social comparison significantly impacted social anxiety in emerging adults social media users, hence, optimizing husnuzan and minimizing social comparison behaviors can reduce anxiety. Background: The problems of students' social interaction and psychological well-being associated with online learning dependent on self-directed learning have become an important topic of research in recent years worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting their Social Emotional Learning. This paper aimed to compare the students' loneliness, social anxiety, social interaction, and general psychological well-being at different stages of online learning (at the beginning and the height of the pandemic), considering their criteria (presence/absence of a job and own family). Methods: For this, the researchers conducted an electronic survey of students (n = 320) twice, in February and May 2020, using four questionnaires: UCLA loneliness scale-3, Social Anxiety Scale for E-Learning Environments, Social Interaction Scale, and Brief Adjustment Scale. The responses at different stages of online learning were compared using Student's t-test. Differences between employed and unemployed students with or without their own families were determined using the analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: The findings showed that unemployed students without their families suffered the most from loneliness. Social interaction online was rated higher by students with their own families; psychological well-being at the beginning of the distance period and social anxiety at the height of the distance period were higher among unemployed students. Conclusions: This research can become a theoretical basis for a phase-by-phase study of social predictors for the psychological well-being of higher education students and is of practical value for teachers and administrators of online learning aimed at students' socialization. In addition, it provides education officials with information about how students perceive psychological well-being, anxiety, social interaction, and loneliness during distance learning, which can help officials direct their decisions and reforms to improve interaction in the online environment. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the group guidance program on family stress and burnout scores of parents who have children with special needs. Pre-test, post-test quasi-experimental control grouped design was used in the study. There were four parents (mother) in the experimental group and four parents (mother) in the control group. The Questionnaire on Resource and Stress-F and the Maslach Burnout Inventory were used as data collection tools. The group guidance program, which was developed by Ayşe Çin in 2001 and consists of eight sessions was applied to the experiment group. Group guidance was conducted online through the Zoom Meetings program, considering the ethical principles of online counseling due to the COVID-19 process. Group guidance was applied to the experimental group between 31.05.2021 and 25.07.2021. Control group has not been subjected to any application. Significance of differences in pre-test post-test scores of subjects were analyzed with Mann Whitney U test. The research findings showed that the group guidance program had a significant effect on the family stress levels and burnout levels of the parents in the experimental group. Introduction: Health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) studies demonstrate the impact of end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) on the physical and psychosocial development of children. While several instruments are used to measure HRQoL, few have standardized domains specific to pediatric ESRD. This review examines current evidence on self and proxy‐reported HRQoL among pediatric patients with ESRD, based on the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL) questionnaires. Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, we conducted a systematic review and meta‐analysis on HRQoL using the PedsQL 4.0 Generic Core Scale (GCS) and the PedsQL 3.0 ESRD Module among 5‐ to 18‐year‐old patients. We queried PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL, and Cochrane databases. Retrospective, case‐controlled, and cross‐sectional studies using PedsQL were included. Findings: Of 435 identified studies, 14 met inclusion criteria administered in several countries. Meta‐analysis demonstrated a significantly higher total HRQoL for healthy patients over those with ESRD (SMD:1.44 [95% CI: 0.78–2.09]) across all dimensional scores. In addition, kidney transplant patients reported a significantly higher HRQoL than those on dialysis (PedsQL GCS, SMD: 0.33 [95% CI: 0.14–0.53]) and (PedsQL ESRD, SMD: 0.65 [95% CI: 0.39–0.90]) concordant with parent‐proxy reports. Discussion: Patients with ESRD reported lower HRQoL in physical and psychosocial domains compared with healthy controls, while transplant and peritoneal dialysis patients reported better HRQoL than those on hemodialysis. This analysis demonstrates the need to identify dimensions of impaired functioning and produce congruent clinical interventions. Further research on the impact of individual comorbidities in HRQoL is necessary for developing comprehensive, integrated, and holistic treatment programs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Working alliance is a key predictor of therapy outcomes, and observer ratings offer an objective perspective. This study adapted the Working Alliance Inventory-Observer Form (WAI-O) for Bahasa Indonesia psychotherapy settings. It involved 15 therapist-patient dyads and three expert observers. The study correlated third-session WAI-O scores with sixth-session therapist-rated improvements for predictive validity and with WAI-client and WAI-therapist scores for construct validity. The Indonesian WAI-O demonstrated moderate predictive validity, no significant convergent validity, and excellent reliability, with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.994 and an ICC of 0.628. Preliminary evidence supports the Indonesian WAI-O's reliability and potential validity for predicting overall clinical improvement, but further research with a larger sample size is suggested to fully establish its validity. Unconscious processes lead to maladaptive behaviors, while people use various defense mechanisms to cope with stressful and traumatic memories. Bringing the unconscious to consciousness is essential for treating such inner conflicts. Art history therapy, which brings together art history and psychology, aims to accelerate clients' self-disclosure to the therapist by bringing their unconscious to consciousness through artworks, thereby establishing the therapeutic alliance. As objects of art history, artworks can trigger associations with childhood experiences in clients. Discussing an artwork can enable clients to express their repressed feelings, thoughts, and memories more easily without fear of being judged by the therapist. The therapy also aims to increase psychological well-being through an aesthetic experience using plastic or visual artworks as the materials. Moreover, clients can benefit from the healing power of art in psychotherapy that self-disclosure provides catharsis to enable clients to discharge the negative emotions connected to traumatic events. After a preliminary client interview, an art historian and clinical psychologist create a repertoire of artworks that are generally appreciated in art history and reflect the characteristics of different periods and artists. The artworks used depend on each client's psychological state and symptoms. However, the main factor in selecting the artworks is to make it easier for clients to remember their experiences and increase their psychological well-being by providing an aesthetic experience. During therapy sessions, first of all, clients interpret the artwork while the therapist makes connections between these interpretations and the client's experiences. The authors examined evaluation within supervision as a potential mediator in the relationship between counseling self-efficacy and working alliance among Turkish guidance and psychological counseling graduate students. Using convenience sampling, data were obtained from 173 (119 females and 54 male) Guidance and Psychological Counseling graduate program students. The Evaluation within Supervision Inventory, the Counseling Self-Efficacy Scale, and the Working Alliance Inventory-Short Form were used for data collection. The bootstrap resampling method was employed using Hayes's SPSS PROCESS macro. Results of bivariate correlations showed that higher evaluation within supervision was associated with increased counseling self-efficacy and increased working alliances, as expected. The mediation model was found to be significant for the contribution of the evaluation within supervision. Based on the findings, providing effective evaluation within supervision is essential for counselors' beliefs in their professional capabilities and for building a quality relationship between counselors and their clients. Aim: This study was conducted to determine the effect of childhood adverse experiences on the risk of postpartum posttraumatic stress disorder (PP-PTSD) and postpartum depression (PPD)., Methods: This descriptive study was conducted with 417 mothers between 1 March and 30 April 2022. Data were collected using a demographic and obstetric information form, the Adverse Childhood Experiences Questionnaire (ACE), City Birth Trauma Scale (CityBiTS) and Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS) through the Google Forms platform., Results: The mothers participating in the study had a mean age of 30.47 ± 4.21 years, 65.9% (n = 275) had at least one ACE, 10.3% (n = 43) met all of the DSM-5 PTSD criteria according to the CityBiTS, and 91.8% (n = 383) had at least one traumatic stress symptom. Correlation analysis revealed weak positive associations between number of ACEs and CityBiTS score (p < 0.001, r = 0.328) and EPDS score (p < 0.001, r = 0.291) and a moderate positive association between CityBiTS and EPDS scores (p < 0.001, r = 0.601). PP-PTSD was found to be a partial mediator variable between ACE and PPD., Conclusion: The presence of ACE in mothers was found to increase the risk of developing PPD, both alone and when combined with traumatic birth experience. Therefore, we believe that screening for a history of ACE during pregnancy, investigating traumatic birth experiences in the postpartum period, closer follow-up of mothers with both ACE and traumatic birth experiences and increasing support systems will be beneficial in the prevention and early diagnosis of PPD., (© 2024 The Author(s). Background: Cognitive impairment is known to occur in patients with prolactinoma, but the underlying mechanism is unclear., Objective: To evaluate cognitive function in patients with prolactinoma and to investigate the basis of possible cognitive impairment in brain white matter changes using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI)., Methods: 37 consecutive patients with prolactinoma and 37 healthy controls of similar age, sex, and education were enrolled in the study. Hormone levels were determined in all participants, comprehensive neuropsychological testing was performed, and DTI was used to reconstruct and evaluate white matter tracts., Results: In patients with prolactinoma, short- and long-term visual and verbal memory, attention, concentration, and executive and language functions were impaired compared to the healthy group. When comparing the DTI results, lower fractional anisotropy (FA) values were found in the patients' right uncinate fasciculus (R-UF), indicating neuronal damage. After applying the Bonferroni correction, the two groups had no significant difference in 42 tracts (p > 0.0012 for all). A positive correlation was found between poor FA scores on the R-UF and low scores on long-term memory, category and letter fluency tests. In addition, patients with hypoprolactinemia had the worst short-term memory scores, while normoprolactinemia had the best scores. Also, the poorer R-UF FA values were found in the patients with hypoprolactinemia and the highest in those with normoprolactinemia., Conclusion: This study is the first to investigate reasons for cognitive dysfunction in patients with prolactinoma by DTI. No significant structural changes were found in brain tracts of patients with prolactinoma. Still, there may be a link between potential damage in the R-UF and cognitive dysfunction, and further research is needed. Stroke is a disease with a heavy social and familial care burden that can cause permanent brain damage, long-term disability, and/or death. This study aimed to determine the effect of technology-based health promotion training on the daily life activities, quality of life, and self-care of stroke patients. The study design was a Randomized Controlled Trial. The study sample included persons diagnosed with stroke diagnosed with stroke and were receiving inpatient treatment in the neurology clinic of a university hospital. The sample size was calculated as a total of 70 patients, 35 interventions and 35 controls. The intervention group patients received telephone-based education and follow-up grounded in Orem's Self-Care Theory over a 12-week period subsequent to their discharge. The educational content was divided into three distinct categories: self-care needs with regard to health deviations, developmental self-care needs, and universal self-care practices. Data were collected using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale, the Katz Index of Independence in Activities of Daily Living, Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale, and the Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale. The Independent Sample T -Test was used for intergroup comparisons, and the Dependent Sample T -Test was used for intragroup pre-test and post-test comparisons. Independent variables affecting the post-test scores, such as age and gender, were analyzed using the multiple linear regression model. The scale sub-dimension variables were compared using the multivariate analysis of variance test according to the groups. When compared with the control group patients after the training, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the intervention group patients' mean scores for the Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale (t = 11.136, p =.001) and the Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale (t = 14.358, p =.000). Training interventions led to enhanced awareness and knowledge about stroke among the intervention group patients. This study aimed to analyze the association between the frequency of playing games and aggressive behavior. This study consisted of 350 subjects between 12 and- 24 years old who were selected through purposive sampling. The data were tested using validity and reliability tests to measure the level of validity of the study instrument with a significance transfer of 0.5%, while also using the Pearson correlation test and the normality test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a positive correlation value with a significance value of (sig) of 0.786 <0.05. This research aims to determine the social anxiety levels of preservice teachers who use social media using latent profile analysis (LPA) and to reveal whether the covariates (Gender, age, socioeconomic status, place of residence, membership durations to social media sites, daily social media usage time, and the number of friends in social media environments) determined in the research are related to profiles. In the descriptive survey study, 249 pre-service teachers formed the study group. The data were obtained using the Social Anxiety Scale for Social Media Users. The social anxiety of preservice teachers using social media was determined as two profiles: Profile-1 (n = 191; 77%: Low Anxiety) and Profile-2 (n = 58; 23%: High Anxiety). Multinomial logistic regression analysis was performed to determine how covariates differ in profile memberships. As a result of the analysis showed that age, socioeconomic status, membership durations to social media sites, daily social media usage times, and the number of friends in social media environments did not differentiate profile memberships. On the other hand, according to gender, it is seen that males experience less social media anxiety than females.
