This paper explores the explanatory models of mental challenges among Black Africans in England. It argues that understanding these models is critical for providing culturally appropriate care to this population. The study employed qualitative methodology, and interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). Twelve mental health service users who are living in England and self‐identified as first or second‐generation Black Africans were purposively selected. The data were gathered using face‐to‐face semistructured interviews. Data were manually analysed in accordance with IPA concepts of searching for common, unique and idiosyncratic themes across transcripts. The findings revealed three themes Black Africans associated to their explanatory model of mental health challenges: complexities of migration, African‐centred worldview and negative life experiences. To help alleviate the Eurocentric nature of mental health practice in England, it is hoped that this explanatory model will become an integral part of mental health practice in England and around the world. Trypanosomiasis, leishmaniasis, and malaria are protozoan infections of public health importance with thousands of new cases recorded annually. Control of these infection(s) with existing chemotherapy is limited by drug toxicity, lengthy parenteral treatment, affordability, and/or the emergence of resistant strains. Medicinal plants on the other hand are used in the treatment of various infectious diseases although their chemical properties are not fully evaluated. In this study, we screened 112 crude extracts from 72 selected Ghanaian medicinal plants for anti-Trypanosoma, anti-Leishmania, and anti-Plasmodium activities in vitro and investigated their mechanisms of action. Twenty-three extracts from 20 plants showed significant antiprotozoan activity against at least 1 of 3 protozoan parasites screened with IC50 values less than 20 μg/ml. Eleven extracts showed high anti-Trypanosoma activity with Bidens pilosa whole plant and Morinda lucida leaf extracts recording the highest activities. Their IC50 (selectivity index [SI]) values were 5.51 μg/ml (35.00) and 5.96 μg/ml (13.09), respectively. Nine extracts had high anti-Leishmania activity with Annona senegalensis and Cassia alata leaf extracts as the most active. Their IC50 (SI) values were 10.8 μg/ml (1.50) and 10.1 μg/ml (0.37), respectively. Six extracts had high anti-Plasmodium activity with the leaf and stem-bark extracts of Terminalia ivorensis recording the highest activity. Their IC50 (SI) values were 7.26 μg/ml (129.36) and 17.45 μg/ml (17.17), respectively. Only M. lucida at 25 μg/ml induced significant apoptosis-like cell death in Trypanosoma parasites. Anti-Leishmania active extracts induced varying morphological changes in Leishmania parasites such as multiple nuclei and/or kinetoplast, incomplete flagella division, or nuclear fragmentation. The geological epoch of the Anthropocene has challenged traditional definitions of what intellectual abilities are necessary to creatively problem-solve, understand, and address contemporary societal and environmental crises. If we hope to make meaningful changes to how our society addresses these complex issues and pave the way for a better future for generations to come, we must advance traditional theories and measures of higher-order abilities to reflect equity and inclusion. To this end, we must address global issues by integrating the complexities of intersectional identities as they impact our understanding of what constitutes intelligence in individuals, groups, and diverse communities. This re-envisioning of intelligence presents new complexities for understanding and challenges for our field beyond the boundaries of what has been previously touted by many disciplines, including psychology. It is an opportunity to re-envision what it means to be intelligent in a diverse global context while also honoring and recognizing the value of difference, positionality, and other ways of knowing. The Pontifical Missionary Society in Indonesia (PMSI), a Roman Catholic nonprofit organization, has operated in Indonesia for over 100 years in 37 dioceses with their own geographical and demographic challenges. Using an entrepreneurial orientation framework, in-depth interviews with the national director and thirty diocesan directors reveal that they apply entrepreneurship techniques in their mission work. In addition, this study reveals the importance of collaboration, and interpersonal and managerial skills in work programs. Aside from making theoretical contributions on the topic of entrepreneurship in nonprofit organizations, practical recommendations are also given as a guide for managers or practitioners working in similar situations. Topics discussed include deliberate actions that justifies imperativeness of gross violation of human rights, human culture that indicates maladaptive social behavior and obtrusion of phallic power on femininity.

This study aims at answering the questions of what obstacles experienced by employees who have to carry out Work From Home (WFH) and how employees apply Self Leadership in implementing WFH. This study is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and in a fluid atmosphere. In this study, interviews were conducted with 20 employees who had to work with the WFH system to obtain data whether employees were familiar with Self Leadership and whether they had implemented it during WFH. The researcher also conducted interviews with 2 HRD heads to see if every leader has already understood how to motivate their subordinates to have self-leadership. This study proves that self-leadership is very important for everyone who runs WFH. The WFH system where people have to work independently requires everyone to be able to organize themselves, motivate themselves and discipline themselves so that the tasks or work entrusted to them can be completed properly. Malaria is an infectious disease caused by Plasmodium parasites that live and reproduce in human red blood cells and are naturally transmitted through the bite of female Anopheles mosquitoes (Depkes RI, 2006). Malaria is one of the infectious diseases that is a major public health problem in the world, including Indonesia. Malaria has become a global concern because high malaria cases have a broad impact on the quality of life and the economy and even threatens the safety of human life. In North Maluku Province, malaria is still a public health problem, from 2014 to 2019 malaria cases fell significantly from 4,451 cases to 557 cases in North Maluku Province. This study uses a True Experimental Design approach using a pretest and posttest control group design, the population in this study is pregnant women and infants who are a sick-prone group totaling 132 family heads with sampling techniques carried out using experimental formulas or randomly, data analysis includes Univariate and Bivariate analysis. The statistical test used is the T test because the basic scale is only Ordinal categorical to see the difference between the control and treatment groups, with the degree of significance (significant level) used is {α = 0.05 the population in this study were pregnant women and infants who were a sick-prone group totaling 132 family heads with sampling techniques carried out using experimental formulas or randomly, data analysis included univariate and bivariate analysis. The statistical test used is the T test because the basic scale is only Ordinal categorical to see the difference between the control and treatment groups, with the degree of significance (significant level) used is {α = 0.05 the population in this study were pregnant women and infants who were a sick-prone group totaling 132 family heads with sampling techniques carried out using experimental formulas or randomly, data analysis included univariate and bivariate analysis.
