A total of 173 participants completed a general information questionnaire and a Chinese version of the Spiritual Needs Scale at the Guangxi Medical University Cancer Hospital. Data were collected by purposive sampling from December 2022 to April 2023. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, non-parametric test, and logistic regression analysis.Results: The spiritual needs of postoperative BC women undergoing chemotherapy were at a high level (84.20 ± 12.86). The need for “hope and peace” was considered paramount and the need for a “relationship with transcendence” was considered the least important. Significant differences were found in the following: spiritual needs total score (P=0.040) and “hope and peace” (P=0.021) in education level; “love and connection” in disease stage (P=0.021); “meaning and purpose” in education level (P=0.013), household income (P=0.012), and payment method (P=0.015); “relationship with transcendence” in religion (P< 0.001); and “acceptance of dying” in marital status (P=0.023). The level of education was the influencing factor of spiritual needs (OR=1.50, P=0.005), especially for “hope and peace” (OR=1.50, P=0.012).Conclusion: The spiritual need of postoperative BC Chinese women undergoing chemotherapy is at a high level and should receive more attention. In clinical work, nurses should fully assess the spiritual needs of patients and meet their specific needs. Results may help nurses to develop targeted and comprehensive spiritual intervention strategies according to the characteristics of patients.Keywords: breast neoplasms, spirituality, oncology nursing, nursing care, needs assessment

Background: Traditional fixed thresholds for oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) results may inadequately prevent adverse pregnancy outcomes in twin pregnancies. This study explores latent OGTT patterns and their association with adverse outcomes., Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed 2644 twin pregnancies using latent mixture models to identify glucose level patterns (high, HG; medium, MG; and low, LG) and their relationship with maternal/neonatal characteristics, gestational age at delivery, and adverse outcomes., Results: Three distinct glucose patterns, HG, MG, and LG patterns were identified. Among the participants, 16.3% were categorized in the HG pattern. After adjustment, compared with the LG pattern, the HG pattern was associated with a 1.79-fold, 1.66-fold, and 1.32-fold increased risk of stillbirth, neonatal respiratory distress, and neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, respectively. The risk of neonatal ICU admission for MG and HG patterns increased by 1.22 times and 1.32 times, respectively, compared with the LG pattern. As gestational weeks increase, although there is an overlap in the confidence intervals between the HG pattern and other patterns in the restricted cubic splines analysis, the trend suggests that pregnant women with the HG pattern are more likely to face risks of their newborns requiring neonatal intensive care unit admission, and adverse comprehensive outcomes, compared with other patterns. In addition, with age and body mass index increasing in HG mode, gestation weeks at delivery tend to be later than in other modes., Conclusion: Distinct OGTT glucose patterns in twin pregnancies correlate with different risks of adverse perinatal outcomes. Objective: This paper aims to evaluate the literature on the prevalence of psychological distress and its associated factors in patients with breast cancer., Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis., Data Sources: PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, the Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Wanfang were searched from inception to 11 June 2024., Eligibility Criteria: Studies reported data on the prevalence and correlates of psychological distress were included. Review, letter, conference abstracts and articles not available in English and Chinese were excluded., Data Extraction and Synthesis: Two researchers independently conducted literature screening, data extraction and bias risk assessment. Meta-analysis was employed to estimate the prevalence and correlates of psychological distress in patients with breast cancer. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale were used for quality assessment. Meta-analysis was performed by using the R V.4.1.1 software., Results: In total, 34 studies representing 13 828 patients with breast cancer were included in the study. Most of the studies were cross-sectional study (n=25, 73.53%%). The pooled prevalence of psychological distress was 50% (95% CI 42% to 58%, I 2 =98%). Results showed that psychological distress was positively correlated with younger age (z=0.13, 95% CI 0.07 to 0.20), having children (z=0.39, 95% CI 0.11 to 0.61), poor financial situation (z=0.12, 95% CI -0.03 to 0.26), short time since diagnosis (z=0.19, 95% CI 0.01 to 0.36), previous treatment (z=0.15, 95% CI 0.03 to 0.27), distant metastasis (z=0.31, 95% CI 0.07 to 0.52), chemotherapy (z=0.22, 95% CI 0.05 to 0.38), prior emotional status (z=0.40, 95% CI 0.29 to 0.50), body image damaged (z=0.10, 95% CI -0.01 to 0.21), negative coping (z=0.12, 95% CI -0.11 to 0.34), communication avoidance (z=0.32, 95% CI 0.24 to 0.39) and negatively correlated with married (z=-0.25, 95% CI 0.45 to -0.02), high education level (z=-0.19, 95% CI -0.40 to 0.05), having insured (z=-0.04, 95% CI -0.15 to 0.08), full employment (z=-0.40, 95% CI -0.61 to -0.14), time of completion of treatment (z=-0.12, 95% CI -0.30 to -0.06), surgery (z=-0.05, 95% CI -0.53 to 0.45), social support (z=-0.18, 95% CI -0.29 to -0.06), post-traumatic growth (z=-0.19, 95% CI -0.34 to -0.03), good physical conditions (z=-0.17, 95% CI -0.29 to -0.04), positive coping (z=-0.22, 95% CI -0.53 to 0.15)., Conclusion: Our findings indicated that the prevalence of psychological distress in patients with breast cancers was 50% and 21 correlates of psychological distress. Dicentrinone (Di), liriodenine (Li) and lysicamine (Ly) are three natural oxoaporphine alkaloids (OAs), which revealed significant biological activity such as anticancer, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities and were considered as potential lead compounds for the development of new clinical chemicals. In the present study, confocal laser scanning fluorescence microscopy observation demonstrated these three natural OAs could traverse inside of the nucleus and get an opportunity to interact with DNA. Their interaction properties with DNA were then investigated simultaneously by two spectral fluorescent probes of ethidium bromide (EB) and methyl green (MG), as well as UV-vis absorption and cyclic voltammetry measurements, and further verified by the molecular docking analysis. Results indicated Di and Li were distinctly classified as the intercalative molecules to DNA, however, Ly was confirmed with a mixed-mode binding of partial intercalation and groove affinity. Their binding ability was revealed as the follows: Di ≥ Li > Ly, which was correlated with their structural changes. Thermodynamic studies revealed the binding process of Li and Ly with ctDNA was all spontaneous, the hydrophobic interaction was the major binding force for Li-ctDNA complex, however, the interaction between Ly and ctDNA relied on both hydrophobic and hydrogen binding force. Molecular docking provided detailed computational interaction of Di, Li and Ly with DNA, which proved the intercalation binding of Li-DNA complex and Di-DNA complex stabilizing mainly by the π-π binding force, however, apart from a small quantity of π-π interaction, another binding force in the Ly-DNA complex mainly was supplied from the weaker Pi-Alkyl, hydrogen bond and Pi-Anion interactions., Competing Interests: Declaration of competing interest The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper., (Copyright © 2024. Objective: To investigate the influence of inappropriate gestational weight gain (GWG) on pregnancy outcomes in twin pregnant women with in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment., Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 2992 twin pregnant women and categorized the participants as follows: (i) they were classified into spontaneous conception (SC) or IVF groups based on whether they received IVF treatment, and (ii) they were categorized into inadequate, optimal, or excessive GWG groups according to the International Organization for Migration Twin Pregnancy Guidelines. Initially, the study investigated the separate effects of IVF treatment and different levels of GWG on the outcomes of twin pregnancies. Subsequently, after adjusting for confounding factors, multifactorial logistic regression analysis was performed to further investigate the impact of IVF treatment and high GWG on twin pregnancy outcomes. Based on this, the analysis was stratified by whether IVF was used to explore the effects of different GWG levels on each subgroup (those who underwent IVF and those who conceived spontaneously). Finally, potential multiplicative interactions between IVF and different GWG categories were examined to identify their combined effect on pregnancy outcomes., Results: The results showed that women with twin gestations conceived via IVF exhibited significantly higher maternal age, pre-pregnancy body mass index, and a greater incidence of GWG beyond recommended guidelines compared to the SC group. Furthermore, both IVF treatment and inappropriate GWG increased the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes, respectively. Following adjustments for confounding variables through multifactorial logistic regression, it was demonstrated that both IVF treatment and high GWG significantly elevated the risk of adverse outcomes in twin pregnancies, such as admission to the neonatal intensive care unit. It is noteworthy that inappropriate GWG, combined with IVF treatment, will stepwise increase the incidence of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, respiratory failure, respiratory distress, pre-eclampsia, maternal intensive care unit admission, and postpartum hemorrhage risk. However, these outcomes were less affected by inappropriate GWG in the SC group. Lastly, this study did not unveil a significant interaction between the IVF procedure and disparate levels of GWG in relation to the adverse outcomes., Conclusion: A high incidence of inappropriate GWG in twin pregnancies with IVF treatment and inappropriate GWG conferred more adverse twin pregnancy outcomes in the IVF group relative to the SC group. This study indicates that proper management of GWG may be a breakthrough in reducing adverse outcomes in twin pregnancies associated with IVF. Therefore, implementing proactive interventions such as supervised exercise programs, prescribed physical or dietary plans, enhanced weight management, or personalized counseling, holds promise for lowering the risks associated with inappropriate GWG in twin pregnancies resulting from IVF., (© 2024 International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics.)

Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) has caused continuous effects on the global public, especially for susceptible and vulnerable populations like pregnant women. COVID-19-related studies and publications have shown blowout development, making it challenging to identify development trends and hot areas by using traditional review methods for such massive data. Aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis to explore the status and hotspots of COVID-19 in obstetrics. An online search was conducted in the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database from January 01, 2020 to November 31, 2022, using the following search expression: (((TS= ("COVID 19" OR "coronavirus 2019" OR "coronavirus disease 2019" OR "SARS-CoV-2" OR "2019-nCoV" OR "2019 novel coronavirus" OR "SARS coronavirus 2" OR "Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2" OR "SARS-COV2")) AND TS= ("obstetric*" OR "pregnancy*" OR "pregnant" OR "parturition*" OR "puerperium"))). VOSviewer version 1.6.18, CiteSpace version 6.1.R6, R version 4.2.0, and Rstudio were used for the bibliometric and visualization analyses. 4144 articles were included in further analysis, including authors, titles, number of citations, countries, and author affiliations. The United States has contributed the most significant publications with the leading position. "Sahin, Dilek" has the largest output, and "Khalil, Asma" was the most influential author with the highest citations. Keywords of "Cov," "Experience," and "Neonate" with the highest frequency, and "Systematic Review" might be the new research hotspots and frontiers. The top 3 concerned genes included ACE2, CRP, and IL6. The new research hotspot is gradually shifting from the COVID-19 mechanism and its related clinical research to reviewing treatment options for pregnant women. This research uniquely delves into specific genes related to COVID-19's effects on obstetrics, a focus that has not been previously explored in other reviews. Background: The efficacy of bioresorbable vascular scaffolds (BVS) compared to metallic stents for the treatment of coronary heart disease remains controversial. The analysis of clinical outcomes at five years following the initial treatment has yet to be reviewed. This study sought to assess the five-year outcomes in randomized controlled trials of BVS in the treatment of coronary heart disease using a systematic review and meta-analysis., Methods: A systematic database search was conducted from their inception to June 30th, 2023 using various Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) terms including: "Coronary Disease", "Bioresorbable stent", "Randomized controlled trials"., Results: After a rigorous selection process, a total of five high-quality articles were finally included in this study. Each trial demonstrated a low risk of bias. After 5 years, bioresorbable stents showed outcomes similar to conventional metal stents in terms of cardiac mortality. However, they were inferior in terms of lesion revascularization rates, in-stent thrombosis rates, target lesion failure, target vessel failure, and myocardial infarction., Conclusions: While bioresorbable stents are comparable to metallic stents in terms of cardiac mortality rates, they exhibit significant drawbacks that warrant clinical consideration., Competing Interests: The authors declare no conflict of interest., (Copyright: © 2024 The Author(s). Background: Playing an exemplary role, frailty have crucial effect on the preoperative evaluation of elderly patients. Previous studies have shown that frailty is associated with complications and mortality in patients with gastric cancer (GC). However, with the development of the concept of "patient-centered", the range of health-related outcomes is broad. The differences in relation between frailty and various adverse outcomes will be further explored., Method: The PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wan Fang, and Chinese Biomedical Literature databases were searched for keywords, including frailty (such as frail) and gastric cancer (such as stomach neoplasms or stomach cancer or gastrectomy or gastric surgery). The search period is until August 2023. The included studies were observational or cohort studies with postoperative related adverse outcomes as primary or secondary outcome measures. Valid assessment tools were used. The Quality Assessment Tool for Observational Cohort and Cross-sectional Studies was used to assess methodological quality in the included literature., Result: Fifteen studies were included, including 4 cross-sectional studies, 8 retrospective cohort studies, and 3 prospective cohort studies. Among them, 6 studies were rated as "Good" and 9 studies were rated as "Fair," indicating that the quality of the literature was high. Then, 10 frailty assessment tools were summarized and classified into two broad categories in accordance with frailty models. Results of the included studies indicated that frailty in elderly patients with GC was associated with postoperative complications, mortality, hospital days, readmissions, quality of life, non-home discharge, and admission to the intensive care unit., Conclusion: This scoping review concludes that high levels of preoperative frailty increase the risk of adverse outcomes in elderly patients with GC.
