A novel reactive fluorescent hydrogen sulphide (H2S) probe (T-DNBS) consisting of 2,4-dinitrobenzenesulfonyl (DNBS) units has been synthesised from 4,7-dibromo-2,1,3-benzothidiazole. Adding H2S to probe T-DNBS solution resulted in a marked fluorescence increase accompanied by a visual colour change from colourless to pale red. Probe T-DNBS performed excellent sensitivity and selectivity for H2S, substantial fluorescence enhancement, can be detected quantitatively in the concentration range of 0–125 μM and the low detection limit was 77.78 nM. Anxi Tieguanyin belongs to the oolong tea category and is one of the top ten most famous teas in China. In this study, hyperspectral imaging (HSI) technology was combined with chemometric methods to achieve the rapid determination of free amino acid and tea polyphenol contents in Tieguanyin tea. Here, the spectral data of Tieguanyin tea samples of four quality grades were obtained via visible near-infrared hyperspectroscopy in the range of 400–1000 nm, and the free amino acid and tea polyphenol contents of the samples were detected. First derivative (1D), normalization (Nor), and Savitzky–Golay (SG) smoothing were utilized to preprocess the original spectrum. The characteristic wavelengths were extracted via principal component analysis (PCA), competitive adaptive reweighted sampling (CARS), and the successive projection algorithm (SPA). The contents of free amino acid and tea polyphenol in Tieguanyin tea were predicted by the back propagation (BP) neural network, partial least squares regression (PLSR), random forest (RF), and support vector machine (SVM). The results revealed that the free amino acid content of the clear-flavoured Tieguanyin was greater than that of the strong-flavoured type, that the tea polyphenol content of the strong-flavoured Tieguanyin was greater than that of the clear-flavoured type, and that the content of the first-grade product was greater than that of the second-grade product. The 1D preprocessing improved the resolution and sensitivity of the spectra. When using CARS, the number of wavelengths for free amino acids and tea polyphenols was reduced to 50 and 70, respectively. The combination of 1D and CARS is conducive to improving the accuracy of late modelling. The 1D-CARS-RF model had the highest accuracy in predicting the free amino acid (RP2 = 0.940, RMSEP = 0.032, and RPD = 4.446) and tea polyphenol contents (RP2 = 0.938, RMSEP = 0.334, and RPD = 4.474). The use of hyperspectral imaging combined with multiple algorithms can be used to achieve the fast and non-destructive prediction of free amino acid and tea polyphenol contents in Tieguanyin tea. Carica papaya, commonly known as papaya, is a fruit recognized for its substantial medicinal potential, primarily due to its wide range of bioactive compounds. This review thoroughly examines the pharmacological implications of these constituents and highlights their potential applications in drug discovery and therapy. Papaya is abundant in vitamins (A, C, and E), minerals, enzymes, and phytochemicals such as flavonoids, phenolic acids, carotenoids, and alkaloids, all of which contribute to its antioxidant, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer effects. The fruit demonstrates significant activity against diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and gastrointestinal disorders. This review also discusses how environmental factors, including temperature, light, soil quality, and rainfall, impact the phytochemical composition of papaya, thereby influencing its medicinal properties. Both in vitro and in vivo studies have highlighted the therapeutic potential of papaya-derived compounds in various health conditions, including cancer, diabetes, wound healing, and cardiovascular health. Additionally, we explore papaya's role in promoting gut health and its antimicrobial properties against bacterial and viral pathogens. In conclusion, the diverse pharmacological activities of papaya's bioactive compounds position it as a valuable candidate for further research and development in drug discovery and therapeutic applications. Amine neurotransmitters (NTs) are crucial in the central nervous system, and dysregulation in their levels is implicated in a spectrum of neurological disorders. Thus, a precise and timely assessment of their concentrations is critical for early diagnosis and treatment efficacy monitoring. Graphene-based field effect transistors (GFETs) have become a ground-breaking instrument in the detection of these NTs because of their exceptional electrical characteristics and adaptability. This paper summarises the significant advancements in GFET biosensors in amine NT detection and highlights developments in the selectivity, sensitivity, and limit of detection (LOD) attained by selecting various graphene materials and functionalisation approaches. Although metal single atom catalysts (SAC) have been demonstrated to be effective in heterogeneous catalysis, establishing a scalable and cost-effective SAC support system remains an important challenge. Here, innovative ways to create materials that are entirely distinct from their parent characteristics for wastewater treatment and environmental challenges are proposed. Series of different molar ratio of Ag (0.01, 0.02, 0.03 and 0.04 wt%) were assigned to prepare Ag@CPAN composite and observe its impact application on photocatalytic degradation of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) assisted by peroxymonosulfate (PMS) under visible light irradiation. The morphology and composition of the synthesized Ag@CPAN was characterized using a range of techniques. Several parameters were investigated that could influence degradation efficiency, including PMS concentration, solution pH, catalyst dosage, and initial 4-NP concentration. Under visible light irradiation, Ag@CPAN shows excellent photocatalytic performance of 4-NP, methylene blue, methyl red and RhB degradation. Ag@CPAN elucidates excellent catalytic performance while maintaining high stability up to 6 successive cycles and this backwards to synergistically effect between CPAN and Ag. Broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica) is one of the most consumed cruciferous crops in the world, with China and Spain acting as the main producers from outside and within the EU, respectively. Broccoli florets are edible, while the leaves and stalks, discarded in the field and during processing, are by-products. Therefore, the objective of this study was to conduct a comprehensive review of the nutrient and phytochemical composition of broccoli and its by-products, as well as its beneficial effects. In addition, the study highlights the revalorization of broccoli by-products through innovative green technologies and explores their potential use in bakery products for the development of functional foods. The studies suggested that broccoli is characterized by a high content of nutrients and bioactive compounds, including vitamins, fiber, glucosinolates, and phenolic compounds, and their content varied with various parts. This high content of value-added compounds gives broccoli and its various parts beneficial properties, including anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, metabolic disorder regulatory, and neuroprotective effects. Furthermore, broccoli and its by-products can play a key role in food applications by improving the nutritional profile of products due to their rich content of bioactive compounds. As a result, it is essential to harness the potential of the broccoli and its by-products that are generated during its processing through an appropriate agro-industrial revalorization, using environmentally friendly techniques. Control of oxidation/antioxidation homeostasis is important for cellular protective functions, and disruption of the antioxidation balance by exogenous and endogenous ligands can lead to profound pathological consequences of cancerous commitment within cells. Although cancers are sensitive to antioxidation drugs, these drugs are sometimes associated with problems including tumor resistance or dose-limiting toxicity in host animals and patients. These problems are often caused by the imbalance between the levels of oxidative stress-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the redox efficacy of antioxidants. Increased ROS levels, because of abnormal function, including metabolic abnormality and signaling aberrations, can promote tumorigenesis and the progression of malignancy, which are generated by genome mutations and activation of proto-oncogene signaling. This hypothesis is supported by various experiments showing that the balance of oxidative stress and redox control is important for cancer therapy. Although many antioxidant drugs exhibit therapeutic potential, there is a heterogeneity of antioxidation functions, including cell growth, cell survival, invasion abilities, and tumor formation, as well as the expression of marker genes including tumor suppressor proteins, cell cycle regulators, nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2, and Jun dimerization protein 2; their effectiveness in cancer remains unproven. Here, we summarize the rationale for the use of antioxidative drugs in preclinical and clinical antioxidant therapy of cancer, and recent advances in this area using cancer cells and their organoids, including the targeting of ROS homeostasis. SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeasts) is an artificially created mixed culture containing selected strains of acetic acid and lactic acid bacteria and yeast which are present in the cellulose membrane. The growing popularity of kombucha consumption and high popularity of coffee creates the possibility of developing coffee-based kombucha production on an industrial scale, which currently does not differ in method from production on a laboratory scale and at home. Therefore, the aim of this work was to determine the possibility of using an alternative method of coffee fermentation using SCOBY, in which the fermentation was carried out in a bioreactor with a constant air flow (rate 2L/min). This study determined the effect of the fermentation method on the processing time, SCOBY mass gain, and selected properties of the fermented coffee beverage. The alternative fermentation method did not negatively affect the properties of the fermented coffee beverage, i.e., caffeine content, colour, polyphenol content, and antioxidant properties, in comparison with the traditional fermentation method. Additionally, it accelerated the fermentation process, shortening it from 8 to 4 days, and in some cases caused an increase in the total polyphenol content and antioxidant activity, almost 10% and over 40%, respectively. The results of this study show a possibility to use alternative methods for coffee fermentation, which can be easily adapted for industrial scale. Variants of fermented and aerated beverages with 4% coffee, and 4 and 5% sugar concentrations stood out among the others as having the best properties and might be introduced to the industry. Converting CO2 into methane is considered a promising and economically viable technology for global transportation and utilization of this greenhouse gas. This study involves the preparation of a Ni-CZ (CeO2-ZrO2)/ATP (attapulgite) catalyst through the co-precipitation and impregnation methods. XRD, SEM, TEM, N2 absorption-desorption isotherms, XPS, H2-TPR, CO2-TPD, TG/DSC, and Raman were adapted to characterize the obtained samples. Real-time GC was used to measure the catalytic performances and to intensively study the impact of Ni loading content and ATP to CZ ratio on the catalytic performance of the products. DRIFTs was used to monitor the interstitial radicals in the catalytic reactions and to deduce the catalytic mechanisms. The results indicate that the composite catalytic matrix composed of CZ assembled on ATP demonstrated higher CO2 methanation stability and better carbon deposition resistance ability than the single CZ or ATP as the carrier, which should be attributed to the improved specific surface area and pore volume of the ATP assembled matrix and the enhanced dispersibility of the CZ and Ni species. The adoption of CZ solid solutions improves the oxygen storage capability of the catalyst, thereby providing continued mobile O2− in the matrix and accelerating the molecular exchange rate in the catalytic reactions. The ideal loading quantity of nickel contents on the CZA matrix is 15%, as the CO2 conversion decreases at elevated temperatures when the Ni loading content reaches 20%. Among the tested samples, the 15Ni-0.8CZA sample showed the best catalytic performance of 75% CO2 conversion and 100% CH4 selectivity at 400 °C. After 50 h of stability tests, the CO2 conversion rate still remained 70.84%, and the CH4 selectivity obtained 97.46%. No obvious coke was detected according to the Raman spectra of the used catalyst. The in situ DRIFTS experiment showed that formate is the main intermediate of the CO2 hydrogenation reaction on the 15Ni-0.8CZA catalyst. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To address issues such as misdetection and omission due to low light, image defocus, and worker occlusion in coal-rock image recognition, a new method called YOLOv8-Coal, based on YOLOv8, is introduced to enhance recognition accuracy and processing speed. The Deformable Convolution Network version 3 enhances object feature extraction by adjusting sampling positions with offsets and aligning them closely with the object's shape. The Polarized Self-Attention module in the feature fusion network emphasizes crucial features and suppresses unnecessary information to minimize irrelevant factors. Additionally, the lightweight C2fGhost module combines the strengths of GhostNet and the C2f module, further decreasing model parameters and computational load. The empirical findings indicate that YOLOv8-Coal has achieved substantial enhancements in all metrics on the coal rock image dataset. More precisely, the values for AP50, AP50:95, and AR50:95 were improved to 77.7%, 62.8%, and 75.0% respectively. In addition, optimal localization recall precision (oLRP) were decreased to 45.6%. In addition, the model parameters were decreased to 2.59M and the FLOPs were reduced to 6.9G. Finally, the size of the model weight file is a mere 5.2 MB. Gastric cancer (GC) is the fourth most common malignant cancer and is a lifethreatening disease worldwide. Phytochemicals have been shown to be a rational, safe, non-toxic, and very promising approach to the prevention and treatment of cancer. It has been found that phytochemicals have protective effects against GC through inhibiting cell proliferation, inducing apoptosis and autophagy, suppressing cell invasion and migration, anti-angiogenesis, inhibit Helicobacter pylori infection, regulating the microenvironment. In recent years, the role of phytochemicals in the occurrence, development, drug resistance and prognosis of GC has attracted more and more attention. In order to better understand the relationship between phytochemicals and gastric cancer, we briefly summarize the roles and functions of phytochemicals in GC tumorigenesis, development and prognosis. This review will probably help guide the public to prevent the occurrence and development of GC through phytochemicals, and develop functional foods or drugs for the prevention and treatment of gastric cancer. Obesity is a metabolic disorder with pandemic-like implications, lacking viable pharmaceutical treatments currently. Thermogenic adipose tissues, including brown and beige adipose tissues, play an essential role in regulating systemic energy homeostasis and have emerged as appealing therapeutic targets for the treatment of obesity and obesity-related diseases. The function of adipocytes is subject to complex regulation by a cellular network of immune signaling pathways in response to environmental signals. However, the specific regulatory roles of immune cells in thermogenesis and relevant involving mechanisms are still not well understood. Here, we concentrate on our present knowledge of the interaction between thermogenic adipocytes and immune cells and present an overview of cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying immunometabolism in adipose tissues. We discuss cytokines, especially interleukins, which originate from widely variable sources, and their impacts on the development and function of thermogenic adipocytes. Moreover, we summarize the neuroimmune regulation in heat production and expand a new mode of intercellular communication mediated by mitochondrial transfer. The crosstalk between immune cells and adipocytes achieves adipose tissue homeostasis and systemic energy balance. A deep understanding of this intricate interaction would provide evidence for improving thermogenic efficiency by remodeling the immune microenvironment. Investigating the different chemical species of soluble iron in food digests provides more relevant information on the nutritional potential of an iron‐rich food. The objective of this study was to assess the bioaccessibility and speciation of iron from various aqueous extracts of Moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaves. Aqueous extracts were prepared from fresh and dried Moringa leaves using infusion and decoction methods. Spectrophotometric assays were performed to quantify inhibitors and enhancers of iron absorption in the extracts, bioaccessible iron, and its different chemical species. The highest contents of inhibitors (239.43 mg/L for polyphenols and 2.92 mg/L for phytates) and enhancers of iron absorption (1.58 mmol/L for carotenoids and 488.00 mg/L for ascorbic acid) were found in the 5‐minute decoction extract of fresh leaves, and the lowest in all infusion extracts (27.34 mg/L for polyphenols, 0.50 mg/L for phytates, 0.15 mmol/L for carotenoids, and 86.00 mg/L for ascorbic acid). The percentages of bioaccessible iron were higher for decoction extracts (42.57–52.70%) compared to infusion extracts (33.89–36.44%). Ferrous iron was the dominant inorganic species of bioaccessible iron and was more concentrated in the digests of decoction extracts (1.32–4.85 mg/L). The highest content of organic iron (5.33 mg/L) was found in the digest of the 8‐minute decoction extract of dried leaves. Drinking decoction extracts of fresh and dried Moringa leaves could be recommended to alleviate iron deficiency in vulnerable groups of the population living in areas where this plant can grow. From ancient times to the present day, fermentation has been utilized not only for food preservation but also for enhancing the nutritional and functional properties of foods. This process is influenced by numerous factors, including the type of microorganisms used, substrate composition, pH, time, and temperature, all of which can significantly alter the characteristics of the final product. Depending on the parameters, fermentation enhances the bioactive content of the products and imparts the necessary properties, such as antioxidant characteristics, for the products to be considered functional. The enhancement of these properties, particularly antioxidant activity, enriches foods with bioactive compounds and functional attributes, contributing to improved health benefits. Through a review of recent research, this study elucidates how different fermentation processes can enhance the bioavailability and efficacy of antioxidants, thereby improving the nutritional and functional qualities of foods. This study investigated the multifaceted effects of fermentation on antioxidant properties by exploring various types and conditions of fermentation. It highlights specific examples from dairy products and other food categories as well as the valorization of food waste and byproducts. The findings underscore the potential of fermentation as a sustainable method to produce health-promoting foods with elevated antioxidant activities, offering new perspectives for food science and technology. In recent decades, the demand for clean and renewable energy has grown increasingly urgent due to the irreversible alteration of the global climate change. As a result, organic solar cells (OSCs) have emerged as a promising alternative to address this issue. In this review, we summarize the recent progress in the molecular design strategies of benzodithiophene (BDT)‐based polymer and small molecule donor materials since their birth, focusing on the development of main‐chain engineering, side‐chain engineering and other unique molecular design paths. Up to now, the state‐of‐the‐art power conversion efficiency (PCE) of binary OSCs prepared by BDT‐based donor materials has approached 20%. This work discusses the potential relationship between the molecular changes of donor materials and photoelectric performance in corresponding OSC devices in detail, thereby presenting a rational molecular design guidance for stable and efficient donor materials in future. TiO2-supported Pd NPs-based materials were prepared following two distinct approaches: For the first set of materials 1–8, modification of the TiO2 support was performed prior to Pd NPs deposition, while the second set (9–15) was synthesized by deposition of modifiers over pre-synthesized Pd-PPh3/TiO2. These catalysts were applied in the hydrogenation of CO2 to formate, and their performance was compared with that of the unmodified Pd-PPh3/TiO2. Modification of the TiO2 support by organosilanes provided a beneficial effect in catalysis compared with the catalyst containing unmodified TiO2 or TiO2 modified by organophosphonic acids. In contrast, in most cases, the deposition of modifiers over previously synthesized Pd NPs supported on TiO2 was not beneficial to the activity of the catalyst. Interestingly, upon recycling, the first set of catalysts suffered a rapid decrease in activity, while the anchoring of modifiers over previously formed Pd NPs showed an improved stability (TON > 500 after the third recycling). Artificial olfaction, also known as an electronic nose, is a gas identification device that replicates the human olfactory organ. This system integrates sensor arrays to detect gases, data acquisition for signal processing, and data analysis for precise identification, enabling it to assess gases both qualitatively and quantitatively in complex settings. This article provides a brief overview of the research progress in electronic nose technology, which is divided into three main elements, focusing on gas-sensitive materials, electronic nose applications, and data analysis methods. Furthermore, the review explores both traditional MOS materials and the newer porous materials like MOFs for gas sensors, summarizing the applications of electronic noses across diverse fields including disease diagnosis, environmental monitoring, food safety, and agricultural production. Additionally, it covers electronic nose pattern recognition and signal drift suppression algorithms. Ultimately, the summary identifies challenges faced by current systems and offers innovative solutions for future advancements. O2-Assisted oxidative dehydrogenation of propane (O2-ODHP) could convert abundant shale gas into propylene as an important chemical raw material, meaning O2-ODHP has practical significance. Thermodynamically, high temperature is beneficial for O2-ODHP; however, high reaction temperature always causes the overoxidation of propylene, leading to a decline in its selectivity. In this regard, it is crucial to achieve low temperatures while maintaining high efficiency and selectivity during O2-ODHP. The use of catalytic technology provides more opportunities for achieving high-efficiency O2-ODHP under mild conditions. Up to now, many kinds of catalytic systems have been elaborately designed, including transition metal oxide catalysts (such as vanadium-based catalysts, molybdenum-based catalysts, etc.), transition metal-based catalysts (such as Pt nanoclusters), rare earth metal oxide catalysts (especially CeO2 related catalysts), and non-metallic catalysts (BN, other B-containing catalysts, and C-based catalysts). In this review, we have summarized the development progress of mainstream catalysts in O2-ODHP, aiming at providing a clear picture to the catalysis community and advancing this research field further. Exposure to 2.45 GHz electromagnetic radiation (EMR) emitted from commonly used devices has been reported to induce oxidative stress in several experimental models. Our study aims to evaluate the efficacy of sulforaphane, a well-known natural product, in preventing radiation-induced toxic effects caused by a 24 h exposure of SH-SY5Y neuronal-like cells and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) to 2.45 GHz EMR. Cells were exposed to radiation for 24 h in the presence or absence of sulforaphane at different concentrations (5–10–25 µg/mL). Cell viability, mitochondrial activity alterations, the transcription and protein levels of redox markers, and apoptosis-related genes were investigated. Our data showed a reduction in cell viability of both neuronal-like cells and PBMCs caused by EMR exposure and a protective effect of 5 µg/mL sulforaphane. The lowest sulforaphane concentration decreased ROS production and increased the Mitochondrial Transmembrane Potential (Δψm) and the NAD+/NADH ratio, which were altered by radiation exposure. Sulforaphane at higher concentrations displayed harmful effects. The hormetic behavior of sulforaphane was also evident after evaluating the expression of genes coding for Nrf2, SOD2, and changes in apoptosis markers. Our study underlined the vulnerability of neuronal-like cells to mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress and the possibility of mitigating these effects by supplementation with sulforaphane. The utilization of fossil fuel has increased atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations drastically over the last few decades. This leads to global warming and climate change, increasing the occurrence of more severe weather around the world. One promising solution to reduce anthropogenic CO2 emissions is methanation. Many researchers and industries are interested in CO2 methanation as a power-to-gas technology and carbon capture and storage (CCS) system. Producing an energy carrier, methane (CH4), via CO2 methanation and water electrolysis is an exceptionally effective method of capturing energy generated by renewables. To enhance methanation efficiency, numerous researches have been conducted to develop catalysts with high activity, CH4 selectivity, and stability against the reaction heat. Single-atom catalysts (SACs), characterized by exceptionally high atom efficiency, have garnered significant attention across various catalytic reactions. Recent studies have showcased SACs with robust capabilities for precise catalysis, specifically targeting reactions along designated pathways. This review focuses on the advances in the precise activation and reconstruction of chemical bonds on SACs, including precise activation of C–O and C–H bonds and selective couplings involving C–C and C–N bonds. Our discussion begins with a thorough exploration of the factors that render SACs skilled in precise catalytic processes, encompassing the narrow d-band electronic state of single atom site resulting in the adsorption tendency, isolate site resulting in unique adsorption structure, and synergy effect of a single atom site with its neighbors. Subsequently, we elaborate on the applications of SACs in electrocatalysis and thermocatalysis including four prominent reactions, namely, electrochemical CO2 reduction, urea electrochemical synthesis, CO2 hydrogenation, and CH4 activation. Then the concept of rational design of SACs for precisely controlling reaction pathways is discussed from the aspects of pore structure design, support-metal strong interaction, and support hydrophilic/hydrophobic. Catalytic conversion of CO2 to CO via the reverse water gas shift (RWGS) reaction has been identified as a promising approach for CO2 utilization and mitigation of CO2 emissions. Bare Pt shows low activity for the RWGS reaction due to its low oxophilicity, with few research works having concentrated on the inverse metal oxide/Pt catalyst for the RWGS reaction. In this work, MnOx was deposited on the Pt surface over a SiO2 support to prepare the MnOx/Pt inverse catalyst via a co-impregnation method. Addition of 0.5 wt% Mn to 1 wt% Pt/SiO2 improved the intrinsic reaction rate and turnover frequency at 400 °C by two and twelve times, respectively. Characterizations indicate that MnOx partially encapsulates the surface of the Pt particles and the coverage increases with increasing Mn content, which resembles the concept of strong metal–support interaction (SMSI). Although the surface accessible Pt sites are reduced, new MnOx/Pt interfacial perimeter sites are created, which provide both hydrogenation and C-O activation functionalities synergistically due to the close proximity between Pt and MnOx at the interface, and therefore improve the activity. Moreover, the stability is also significantly improved due to the coverage of Pt by MnOx. Background: The insulin/insulin-like signalling (IIS) pathway is common in mammals and invertebrates, and the IIS pathway is unknown in Fasciola gigantica. In the present study, the IIS pathway was reconstructed in F. gigantica. We defined the components involved in the IIS pathway and investigated the transcription profiles of these genes for all developmental stages of F. gigantica. In addition, the presence of these components in excretory and secretory products (ESPs) was predicted via signal peptide annotation. Results: The core components of the IIS pathway were detected in F. gigantica. Among these proteins, one ligand (FgILP) and one insulin-like molecule binding protein (FgIGFBP) were analysed. Interestingly, three receptors (FgIR-1/FgIR-2/FgIR-3) were detected, and a novel receptor, FgIR-3, was screened, suggesting novel functions. Fg14-3-3ζ, Fgirs, and Fgpp2a exhibited increased transcription in 42-day-old juveniles and 70-day-old juveniles, while Fgilp, Fgigfb, Fgsgk-1, Fgakt-1, Fgir-3, Fgpten, and Fgaap-1 exhibited increased transcription in metacercariae. FgILP, FgIGFBP, FgIR-2, FgIR-3, and two transcription factors (FgHSF-1 and FgSKN-1) were predicted to be present in FgESPs, indicating their exogenous roles. Conclusions: This study helps to elucidate the signal transduction pathway of IIS in F. gigantica, which will aid in understanding the interaction between flukes and hosts, as well as in understanding fluke developmental regulation, and will also lay a foundation for further characterisation of the IIS pathways of trematodes. The unprecedented increase of atmospheric CO2 concentration and the associated climate change calls for the urgent implementation of CO2 mitigation approaches. Among the various proposed measures, CO2 capture from several industrial point sources or directly from air and its subsequent hydrogenation via renewable H2 towards value-added products formation has gained particular attention. Specifically, the production of CO or CH4 is of great importance for the eventual generation of liquid fuels or synthetic natural gas, respectively. Herein, an overview of the state-of-the-art noble and non-noble metal-based catalysts employed for the thermocatalytic CO2 hydrogenation towards CO (reverse water–gas shift reaction, rWGS) or CH4 (Sabatier reaction) is elaborated. A brief description of fundamental considerations is initially provided for each reaction, involving thermodynamic, mechanistic and kinetics considerations. Then, the recent catalytic studies on rWGS and Sabatier reactions over both noble metal and non-noble metal catalysts (e.g., metal oxides, carbides, metal organic frameworks) are discussed from the perspective of structure–property relationships. Lastly, the most important conclusions arising from the comparative analysis of the most promising catalysts are summarized and are complemented with proposed outlooks associated with future directions towards the rational design of highly active and selective catalytic materials for each process. Transmembrane transport analysis is essential for understanding cell physiological processes. Based on an artificial simulation of internal and external cellular environment, this paper introduces an innovative approach to investigate the microscopic behavior of small molecules through porin protein under mechanical curvature of lipid membrane. A flexible device system is developed, enabling quantitative electronic transmembrane analysis. The key transistor comprises a flexible, microporous electrode covered with the support lipid bilayers (SLBs) to mimic artificial cellular membrane, serving as an extended gate of the field‐effect transistor (FET). The transmembrane behaviors of charged ions and small molecules can be effectively monitored in real time by this FET‐based flexible device system. The flexibility of the electrode allows analyzing the transmembrane behavior under different mechanical bends. In this study, the developed flexible device is employed for the first time to simulate the mechanical bending of cellular membrane embedded with channel proteins and to monitor the transmembrane behavior of small molecules, thus providing a more authentic representation of membrane protein at a curved state. This approach holds the potential to contribute as a platform‐based technological advancement, supporting research into toxicological mechanisms and facilitating drug screening endeavors. In this study, the promoting effects of ruthenium, palladium, and copper on the performance of a 15%Co-1%K/SiO2 catalyst were evaluated during CO2 hydrogenation in a fixed-bed reactor. Reactions were carried out at atmospheric pressure and 270 °C with H2/CO2 ratio of 3. All catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) and temperature-programmed reduction (TPR). Ruthenium, palladium and copper facilitated the reduction of cobalt oxides and increased cobalt dispersion. In terms of catalyst's performance, ruthenium addition led to increased CO2 conversion and methane selectivity with a detrimental effect on C5+ hydrocarbons. Palladium also presented a similar pattern at lower loading but a drop in CO2 conversion and increased reverse water–gas shift activity were observed at 3 wt % Pd loading. Promoting with copper resulted in decreased activity, methane selectivity and C5+ hydrocarbons productivity with a much higher CO selectivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Seeds, as the initial products in agricultural systems, play a pivotal role in ensuring quality, fundamental to national food security and sustainable agricultural development. This study introduces a concept integrating public governance and evolutionary game theory to construct a quadripartite evolutionary game model involving seed companies, certification agencies, farmers, and governmental departments. It considers the strategic choices of these stakeholders under varying economic motivations and market mechanisms, as well as the influence of external regulation and incentives on game strategies. The existence conditions for evolutionarily stable strategy combinations are determined using the Lyapunov first method, and MATLAB is employed for numerical simulation analysis to validate the game analysis under initial conditions. The simulation results reveal two potential equilibrium points corresponding to different strategic choices among stakeholders. The study finds that producing high-quality seeds and the refusal of certification agencies to engage in rent-seeking are crucial for ensuring seed quality. Additionally, the cost–benefit ratio of seed companies, the speculative cost of certification agencies, and the rights-protection cost of farmers are key determinants in the evolution of seed quality assurance strategies. Direct hydroxylation of benzene towards phenol with high conversion and selectivity remains a great challenge. We report herein an efficient La 2 CuO 4 perovskite catalyst for one-step oxidation of benzene using hydrogen peroxide under mild conditions. The catalyst was characterized using XRD, TEM, XPS, TG-DTA, and other advanced techniques. The one-pot hydroxylation reaction carried out at 60 °C under optimum reaction conditions in the presence of catalytic material shows benzene to phenol transformation with 51% conversion with >99% selectivity with 65 percent peroxide efficiency, respectively. Tongjiang Mixture (TJM) is a traditional Chinese formula for treating reflux esophagitis (RE). Nevertheless, its active ingredients and potential pharmacological mechanisms are not yet clearly elucidated. This study will identify the active ingredients of TJM using serum pharmacochemistry and to elucidate the mechanism on RE through network pharmacology. The blood-borne ingredients of TJM are identified by the Ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time of flight-mass spectrometer. Subsequently, a "compound-target-disease" network is established and obtained core targets associated with TJM and RE. Then, the potential signaling pathways are forecasted through the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis. Finally, the rat model of RE is established to verify the results predicted by network pharmacology through animal experiments. Fifteen blood-borne ingredients of TJM are identified, with eight active ingredients-namely Tangeretin, Tricin, Palmati, Berberine, Limonin, Evodiamine, Tetrahydropalmatine and Rutecarpine - making significant contributions to its efficacy. Moreover, TJM is predicted to act on 193 targets related to RE, involving AKT1, HSP90AA1, PIK3CA, and other targets, which enriches mainly in PI3K/AKT /NF-κB signaling. Additionally, TJM can alleviate inflammation of the esophageal mucosa, reduce pathological damage, and increase gastric pH. It can downregulate PI3K, AKT, and NF-κB mRNA transcription levels and reduce the protein expression of PI3K, AKT, and NF-κB. Furthermore, it can inhibit the overproduction of IL-6, TNF-α and IL-17. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is recognized globally as one of the most lethal tumors, presenting a significant menace to patients' lives owing to its exceptional aggressiveness and tendency to recur. Transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization (TACE) therapy, as a first-line treatment option for patients with advanced HCC, has been proven effective. However, it is disheartening that nearly 40 % of patients exhibit resistance to this therapy. Consequently, this review delves into the metabolic aspects of glucose metabolism to explore the underlying mechanisms behind TACE treatment resistance and to propose potentially fruitful therapeutic strategies. Thyroid hormones regulate metabolic rate, nutrient utilization, growth, and development. Swine are susceptible to thyroid suppression in response to disease or environmental conditions, but the physiological impact of such disruption has not been established. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of hypothyroidism induced with the antithyroid medication methimazole (MMI). 10 mg/kg MMI significantly decreased circulating triiodothyronine (T3) for the duration of treatment but had only a transient effect on circulating thyroxine (T4). Thyroid tissue weight was significantly increased by more than 3.5‐fold in response to MMI treatment. Histologically, the eosinophilic colloid was largely absent from the thyroid follicle which displayed a disorganized columnar epithelium consistent with goiter. MMI induced hypothyroidism has no effect on growth rate over 28 days. Hepatic expression of genes associated with thyroid metabolism (DIO1, DIO2, and DIO3), lipid utilization (CD36, FASN, and ACACA), apoptosis (TP53, PERP, SIVA1, and SFN) and proliferation (CDK1, CDK2, CDK4, and CDKN1A) were unaffected by treatment. Collectively these results demonstrate that MMI induces mild systemic hypothyroidism and pronounced goiter, indicating a strong homeostatic central regulation within the hypothalamic pituitary thyroid axis. Sepsis poses a significant challenge in clinical management. Effective strategies targeting iron restriction, toxin neutralization, and inflammation regulation are crucial in combating sepsis. However, a comprehensive approach simultaneously targeting these multiple processes has not been established. Here, an engineered apoptotic extracellular vesicles (apoEVs) derived from macrophages is developed and their potential as multifunctional agents for sepsis treatment is investigated. The extensive macrophage apoptosis in a Staphylococcus aureus‐induced sepsis model is discovered, unexpectedly revealing a protective role for the host. Mechanistically, the protective effects are mediated by apoptotic macrophage‐released apoEVs, which bound iron‐containing proteins and neutralized α‐toxin through interaction with membrane receptors (transferrin receptor and A disintegrin and metalloprotease 10). To further enhance therapeutic efficiency, apoEVs are engineered by incorporating mesoporous silica nanoparticles preloaded with anti‐inflammatory agents (microRNA‐146a). These engineered apoEVs can capture iron and neutralize α‐toxin with their natural membrane while also regulating inflammation by releasing microRNA‐146a in phagocytes. Moreover, to exploit the microcosmic movement and rotation capabilities, erythrocytes are utilized to drive the engineered apoEVs. The erythrocytes‐driven engineered apoEVs demonstrate a high capacity for toxin and iron capture, ultimately providing protection against sepsis associated with high iron‐loaded conditions. –Objective: In this paper, a series of piperazine pyrimidines and morpholine pyrimidines have been synthesized effectively, and their biological activities have been evaluated. Methods: We examined the cytotoxicity tests of the compounds against two human tumor cells (HCT-116, HeLa), as well as one human normal cells (L02), in order to determine their anticancer activity. Results: The compound (IV) outperformed the others, and flow cytometry was used to further examine how it works against cancer. Additionally, the (IV) molecule showed strong anticancer efficacy but was marginally less effective in apoptosis assays than the control 5-FU. Discussion: The compound (IV) chemical treated HCT-116 cells and HeLa cells in the cell cycle research had a larger percentage of cells in the G1 phase. The induction of apoptosis by interfering with the cell cycle may be the anticancer mechanism of this substance. Additionally, molecular docking investigated potential interactions between the substances and the Topo II active site.
