The age of sexual maturity of the Atlantic bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus; ABFT) is a reference point for stock assessment and management. The International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) recognizes a western and an eastern Atlantic ABFT stock, based on the assumptions of separate, exclusive spawning grounds, i.e., the northern Gulf of Mexico and the Mediterranean Sea, with different ages of sexual maturity, 8–12 years vs 3–5 years, respectively. Multiple line of evidences indicate that spawning is not restricted to the Gulf of Mexico and the Mediterranean Sea, and reconsideration of historical documents, as well as results from recent studies, indicate that sexual maturation schedules of the two proposed stocks are similar (3–5 years). The present review of classical and recent literature suggests that ABFT have more complex reproductive behavior than previously considered: on eastern spawning grounds 50% of ABFT females reproduce at 3 years of age and 100% are sexually mature at 5 years of age. In the western management area, younger adults (age ≥ 5 years) and some larger adults apparently spawn in the northwest Atlantic Ocean across the Slope and Caribbean Seas, whereas the Gulf of Mexico spawners are mostly large adults (age ≥ 8 years). This article describes the protection and favor that the media and the courts extended to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon from the moment that he announced the disengagement plan in December 2003 up to and after the withdrawal from Gaza and part of northern Samaria in August 2005. Senior journalist and commentator, Amnon Abramovich pioneered the idea of treating the prime minister like an "etrog" (the citron which is blessed during the Feast of Tabernacles [Sukkoth] and stored in cotton and gauze). This gentle handling enabled Sharon to carry out the evacuation of settlements and escape criminal investigations. The media thus shifted from reporting and commenting on events to becoming a supporter of the reversal of Sharons stated policy by delegitimizing opponents of the disengagement and preventing the public debate. Amnon Lord, currently a columnist of the weekly Makor Rishon and an editor of the Hebrew website, Mida, describes the 'group-think' mentality of many Israeli journalists and commentators and discusses the frequently deleterious role of the media in dictating the public agenda. Information about several papers presented at the panel on impact and influence of relational psychoanalysis, held at the 47th Congress of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA), Mexico City, Mexico, from 3 to 6 August, 2011, are presented. Panelists included Robert Stolorow, George Atwood and Shelley Doctors. Papers on various topics such as human relationships on psychological development, participatory inquiry and attachment theory.

Information about several papers presented at the panel discussion, at the 47th Congress of the International Psychoanalytic Association, Mexico City, Mexico, from 3 to 6 August, 2011, on Melanie Klein's theory and ideas are presented. The panel included David Taylor and David Bell both of the British Psychoanalytical Society and Albert Mason of the Psychoanalytic Center of California. Mason presented a paper related to systematic account of the cohorts of psychoanalysts.

A response by Joseph Aguayo to a letter to the editor about his comments on a research paper on projective identification by Giovanna Goretti published in the "International Journal of Psychoanalysis" is presented.
