In the article, the authors have presented a software-implemented and verified mathematical model of the process of desublimation of UF6 into vertical immersion tanks. Results of calculating the time of filling and the average performance of the tanks of volume 1.0, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, and 4.0 m3 with smooth interior walls upon the change in the diameter of the inlet valve and in the temperature of gaseous UF6 in the collector have been given. It has been shown that the decrease in the gaseous-UF6 temperature from 40 to 10°C makes it possible to increase the tank′s average performance by 7.0–7.4%. The increase in the inlet-valve diameter from 5·10–3 to 65·10–3 m leads to an increase of 76.0–88.0% in the average performance of the tanks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The predictables of non-stationary desublimation of UF6 in vertical submersible tanks with vertical ribbing were investigated by means of numerical modeling using a simplified three-dimensional mathematical model. The computational results for the average capacity of tanks with vertical ribbing with volume 1–4 m3 are given as a function of the width and length of the vertical. It is shown that the average capacity of tanks with vertical ribbing can be increased by changing the width and length of the ribs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study addresses the problems of reprocessed uranium re-enrichment. It is shown that, in the most general formulation, the problem of reprocessed uranium re-enrichment that meets all the requirements on the content of even isotopes and the conditions of spending a given amount of initial reprocessed uranium for production of unit mass of the product cannot be solved in a three-flow cascade of centrifuges or in the simplest versions of double cascades. The possibility of solving the formulated problem in a modified double cascade scheme with a low-enriched uranium (LEU) diluter is demonstrated. The results of numerical experiments showed that it is possible to obtain marketable LEU in the studied version of the double cascade after spending a given amount of reprocessed uranium and meeting different constraints on 232U concentration in the product, including even stricter constraints than those currently accepted at separation plants. Detailed Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy investigations on a novel naphthalene-substituted 1,2,3-triazole-based fluorescence sensor provided evidence for the "turn-on" detection of anions. The one-step, facile synthesis of the sensors was implemented using the "Click chemistry" approach in good yield. When investigated for selectivity and sensitivity against a series of anions (F-, Cl-,Br-, I-, H2PO4-, ClO4-, OAc-, and BF4-), the sensor displayed the strongest fluorometric response for the fluoride anion. NMR and fluorescence spectroscopic studies validate a 1:1 binding stoichiometry between the sensor and the fluoride anion.
