Saline-alkali land is an important component of terrestrial ecosystems and may serve as a carbon sink but its net contribution to the overall terrestrial carbon sink is unknown. Using methods recommended by the IPCC, this study evaluates the impacts of interconverting saline-alkali and non-saline-alkali land on terrestrial carbon stocks by measuring two major carbon pools (soil organic carbon and vegetation carbon) in the saline-alkali land of China's Songnen Plain. Distinct phases in the evolution of the region's terrestrial carbon stock were delineated, factors contributing to transitions between phases were identified, and the effects of changes in the saline-alkali land carbon stock on the overall terrestrial carbon sink were estimated. Between 2005 and 2020, the region's saline-alkali land carbon stock initially increased, then declined, and finally increased again. However, the overall terrestrial carbon stock decreased by 0.5 Tg (1 Tg = 1012 g), indicating that the increase in the saline-alkali land carbon stock was due primarily to expansion of the saline-alkali land area. The conversion of non-saline-alkali land to saline-alkali land was a carbon-emitting process; consequently, in areas undergoing saline-alkali land change, the lower carbon density bound was equal to the carbon density of unconverted saline-alkali land and the upper bound was equal to the carbon density of unconverted non-saline-alkali land. In general, changes in the carbon stock of saline-alkali land correlated negatively with changes in the overall terrestrial carbon stock. The conversion of saline-alkali land into grassland and cropland through biochar improvement and the planting of saline-tolerant crops (Leymus chinensis, salt-tolerant rice) has a positive effect on promoting the enhancement of terrestrial carbon stocks. Land-use change is an important factor affecting terrestrial carbon balance, and it is crucial to explore the response of terrestrial carbon stocks to land-use change, especially in the Songnen Plain, which faces a fierce conflict between the rapid growth of production activities and ecosystem degradation. In this study, we measured soil organic carbon and vegetation biocarbon stocks in the Songnen Plain based on IPCC-recommended methodologies, and explored the characteristics of carbon stock changes in land-use trajectories, land-use drivers, and specific land-use change scenarios (cropland cultivation, returning cropland to forests, the expansion of land for construction, deforestation, greening, and land degradation). The results showed that soil organic carbon stock in the Songnen Plain decreased by 1.63 × 105 t, and vegetation biocarbon stock increased by 2.10 × 107 t from 2005 to 2020. Human factors and natural factors jointly contributed to the land-use change, but the extent of the role of human factors was greater than that of natural factors. The increase in land-use trajectory led to the decrease in soil organic carbon stock and the increase in vegetation biocarbon stock. There was no difference in the effects of human-induced and natural-induced land-use changes on vegetation biocarbon stocks, but the effects on soil organic carbon stocks were diametrically opposite, increasing by 43.27 t/km2 and decreasing by 182.02 t/km2, respectively. The reclamation of arable land, returning cropland to forests, and greening led to a net increase in terrestrial carbon stocks (+813,291.84 t), whereas land degradation, deforestation, and land-use expansion led to a decrease in terrestrial carbon stocks (−460,710.2 t). Power system operation and control are based on power flow calculations. In order to solve the uncertainty of the increasing penetration of renewable energy, the voltage fluctuation at the load point increases in the distribution network, and the inaccuracy of the power flow calculation due to the insufficient power flow data collection capability of the traditional power system. In this paper, a data‐driven power flow analysis model is proposed, a back propagation neural network combined with genetic algorithm (GA) and adaptive moment estimation (ADAM) optimization algorithm model is constructed to analyze the power flow calculation method of distribution networks under stochasticity. Firstly, the power flow initial value information, topology characteristics, and power factor index are introduced to construct a training set, and the mapping relationship between bus voltage and power is fully explored by training the regression model. Second, the GA‐ADAM algorithm is used to optimize the initial values and weight parameters of the model. Finally, it is verified based on IEEE‐33 bus distribution model, and the model is used for power flow calculation, and compared with other methods through each relevant error evaluation indicators. Gene‐editing technology has become a transformative tool for the precise manipulation of biological genomes and holds great significance in the field of animal disease‐resistant breeding. Mastitis, a prevalent disease in animal husbandry, imposes a substantial economic burden on the global dairy industry. In this study, a regulatory sequence gene editing breeding strategy for the successful creation of a gene‐edited dairy (GED) goats with enhanced mastitis resistance using the ISDra2‐TnpB system and dairy goats as the model animal is proposed. This included the targeted integration of an innate inflammatory regulatory sequence (IRS) into the promoter region of the lysozyme (LYZ) gene. Upon Escherichia Coli (E. coli) mammary gland infection, GED goats exhibited increased LYZ expression, showing robust anti‐mastitis capabilities, mitigating PANoptosis activation, and alleviating blood‐milk‐barrier (BMB) damage. Notably, LYZ is highly expressed only in E. coli infection. This study marks the advent of anti‐mastitis gene‐edited animals with exogenous‐free gene expression and demonstrates the feasibility of the gene‐editing strategy proposed in this study. In addition, it provides a novel gene‐editing blueprint for developing disease‐resistant strains, focusing on disease specificity and biosafety while providing a research basis for the widespread application of the ISDra2‐TnpB system. With the high degree of wind power penetration integrated into multi-area AC/DC interconnected power grids, the frequency regulation capacity of automatic generation control (AGC) units is not sufficient in the wind power-penetrated area, making it difficult to effectively suppress the frequency stability caused by the fluctuation of wind power. Therefore, a coordinated control strategy for AGC units across areas based on bi-level model predictive control is proposed in this paper to achieve resource sharing. The control scheme uses economic model predictive control to realize steady power optimal allocation of the AGC units across areas in the upper layer and distributed model predictive control to realize dynamic frequency optimization control of the multi-area AGC units in the lower layer. Taking a three-area AC/DC interconnected power grid with a wind farm as an example, the simulation results show that, compared with model predictive control using tie-line frequency bias control (TBC) mode, the proposed control strategy can not only effectively maintain tie-line safety and frequency stability, but can also reduce the regulation cost of multi-area AGC units. This work presents a study on the optical applications of chemical vapor deposition‐grown Sb2Se3 nanowires in polarized single nanowire photodetectors. High‐quality Sb2Se3 nanowires are obtained with diameters as small as ≈15 nm, which is the first report for ultrathin Sb2Se3 nanowires. The fabricated Sb2Se3 nanowire‐based photodetector presents a low shot noise of ≈ 9 × 10–16 A Hz–1/2, a large signal/noise ratio of 1436.55, a high responsivity of 3.61 A W–1, and a high specific detectivity of 2.36 × 1011 Jones, which can be attributed to the high‐quality crystalline nanowires obtained. More interestingly, the Sb2Se3 nanowire‐based photodetectors exhibit broadband polarized photoresponse to incident light with wavelengths ranging from visible to near‐infrared (532 – 830 nm). A linearly dichroic ratio of 1.71 is obtained for the 830 nm light illumination. The Sb2Se3 nanowire detectors also present appropriate polarimetric imaging quality, revealing the potential of Sb2Se3 nanowires for polarimetric imaging applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Clonal plants can reproduce both sexually and asexually. Selection of reproductive strategies is crucial for the evolution of clonal plants. Nevertheless, little is known about the reproductive strategy of clonal aquatic plants in diverse environments and at different harvest times. In this study, the reproduction of the clonal aquatic plant species Leersia oryzoides (L.) Swartz. was investigated under two different submergence conditions: mesic and flooding in two different years. We collected data concerning specific leaf area (SLA), a growth-related trait, during the growing season in both years. Seed output (total seed mass, seed number and seed mass) and rhizome mass, which reflect sexual reproduction and asexual reproduction, respectively, were measured in the reproductive period. The correlation between sexual reproduction (total seed mass) and asexual propagation (rhizome mass) was subsequently analyzed. The correlations between SLA and each reproductive output—total seed mass and rhizome mass—were explored. Seed output (the seed number and total seed mass) decreased in the second-year harvest (H2) compared to the first-year harvest (H1). Greater seed mass was observed at H2 than at H1 in the flooding treatment. The ratio of sexual to asexual reproductive output increased under flooding and decreased at H2. Generally, the SLA and rhizome mass were not significantly correlated, while a significant negative correlation was detected between SLA and total seed mass across all observations. A nonsignificant correlation between rhizome mass and total seed mass was also detected. A decrease in sexual reproduction can occur over time, although disturbances such as flooding can promote the allocation of reproduction resources to the sexual approach. Leaf functional traits such as SLA may negatively predict the output of sexual reproduction, and the trade-off between SLA and asexual propagation is likely nonexistent. Key message: Defoliation modality significantly affected leaf traits and carbon allocation especially in the early recovery period of two Leguminosae woody species. Robinia pseudoacaciaL. recovered more quickly following defoliation thanAmorpha fruticosaL. Context: Defoliation resulting from anthropogenic disturbance, insects, and grazing animals affects plant growth and vegetation dynamics. Robinia pseudoacacia L. and Amorpha fruticosa L. with different susceptibility to biotic attack are commonly used for vegetation restoration in North China. However, plant responses to defoliation were not fully understood in the two Leguminosae woody species. Aims: We selected R. pseudoacacia and A. fruticosa to determine the effects of defoliation on individual plant growth, leaf traits, and carbohydrate allocation and compared the two species in terms of recovery strategies following defoliation for vegetation restoration. Methods: In a greenhouse experiment, A. fruticosa and R. pseudoacacia seedlings were subjected to three defoliation treatments: defoliation of the top down (TD) or bottom up (BU) 50% of the crown, and a control without defoliation (CK). The physiological and growth traits of seedlings were determined at 1, 3, 14, 30, and 60 days following defoliation. Results: Plant growth in both species recovered after 2 months whatever defoliation modalities. Carbon allocation in both species was greatly affected by defoliation modalities during the early recovery period but had been fully recovered after 60 days of treatment. In the end of the experiment, defoliation modalities still had obvious impacts on leaf characteristics, especially in chlorophyll concentration and specific leaf area. R. pseudoacacia exhibited more evident compensatory mechanisms than A. fruticosa following defoliation. Conclusion: Defoliation modality treatments significantly affect most leaf traits and carbon allocation, especially in the early recovery period of both species. Considering the faster recovery ability of R. pseudoacacia than A. fruticosa after defoliation, R. pseudoacacia seedlings may be more suitable for vegetation restoration in North China. Here, molecular docking simulation was used to predict and compare interactions between a recombinant Trametes sp. C30 laccase from Saccharomyces cerevisiae and four aflatoxins (AFB1, AFB2, AFG1, and AFG2) as well as their degradation at a molecular level. The computational result of docking simulation indicates that each of the aflatoxins tested can interact with laccase with a binding ability of AFB1>AFG2>AFG1>AFB2. Simultaneously, it also demonstrated that aflatoxin B1， B2， G1， G2 may interact near the T1 copper center of the enzyme through H‐bonds and hydrophobic interactions with amino acid residues His481 and Asn288; His481； Asn288, and Asp230; His481 and Asn288. Biological degradation test was performed in vitro in the presence of a recombinant laccase. Degradation increased as incubation time increased from 12 to 60 hr and the maximum degradation obtained for AFB1, AFB2, AFG1, and AFG2 was 90.33%, 74.23%, 85.24%, and 87.58%, respectively. Maximum degradation of aflatoxins was determined with a total activity 3 U laccase at 30 °C in 0.1 M phosphate buffer, pH 5.7 after 48‐hr incubation. The experimental results are consistent with that of docking calculation on the biological degradation test of four aflatoxins by laccase. Practical Application: In this study, the degradation efficiencies of laccase for B and G series of aflatoxins were determined by computer simulation and verified by performing in vitro experiments. A new fault isolation and restoration technique employing local Ethernet network for the looped MV circuit is presented. It can isolate all short circuit faults in the loop within 300 ms and restore the supply of healthy sections in less than 1.2 s. A reliable fault location method of isolating the single phase-to-ground fault (SPGF) in the non-effectively earthed network, which makes use of the fault generated trnasient signals, is also proposed. And the method locates the SPGF by examining transient zero-mode current correlation, which is not influenced by the neutral grounding mode and need no additional device. Laboratory test and simulation results show the proposed techniques are feasible, and significantly improve the supply reliability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
