2. Elucidating the daily foraging activity pattern of Oecophylla smaragdina to minimize bite nuisances in Asia large agro-system plantations.

- Abstract
Oecophylla smaragdina F. , the Asian weaver ant, is one of the oil palm plantation's ( Elaeis guineensis ) potential predators, for the invasive bagworm species Metisa plana Walker, but this ant is a nuisance species that irritates plantation workers with their sharp bites. Here we assess the foraging activities (FA) of O. smaragdina's major workers, identify its inactive times and the existence of supervision, a novelty for social insects. Between 2018 and 2022, the pattern of trunk foraging activity was used as a mitigation measure. The relationship between trunk FA and air temperature (AT), relative humidity (RH), air pressure (AP), and rainfall interception (RI) was also investigated. Our results showed that, O. smaragdina is a strictly diurnal ant species, has little to no crepuscular activity, and stopped foraging during darkness. Moreover, veteran bigger workers systematically acted as supervisors by monitoring trails, intercepting, and bringing back to nests smaller individuals during heat peaks. In relation to population size relative abundance, all colonies displayed greater intensity during the warmest daily periods with higher mean forager density among the bigger colony, regardless of the dry-rainy intervals corresponded to minimal activity from late scotophase to early photophase and showed a bimodal pattern. Thus, forager activity peaked between 1100-1530 h and 1745-1845 h, and an average two-fold daily sudden decrease in intensity between 1620 and 1650 h as a partial cut-off period (first report). Furthermore, foraging activity, AT, AP showed a significant positive correlation while RH was negative. Finally, we found that from the base palm trunks, defensive territorial layers extended to 5 m on average with different spatial configurations indicating greater foraging density within the first 2 m. 3. Impacts of Biosynthesized Manganese Dioxide Nanoparticles on Antioxidant Capacity, Hematological Parameters, and Antioxidant Protein Docking in Broilers.

- Abstract
Using green tomato extract, a green approach was used to synthesize manganese oxide nanoparticles (MnO
2 NPs). The synthesis of MnO2 NPs was (20.93-36.85 nm) confirmed by energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and UV-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis) analyses. One hundred fifty-day-old Arbor Acres broiler chicks were randomly divided into five groups. The control group received a diet containing 60 mg Mn/kg (100% NRC broiler recommendation). The other four groups received different levels of Mn from both bulk MnO2 and green synthesized MnO2 NPs, ranging from 66 to 72 mg/kg (110% and 120% of the standard level). Each group comprised 30 birds, in three replicates of 10 birds each. Generally, the study's results indicate that incorporating MnO2 NPs as a feed additive had no negative effects on broiler chick growth, antioxidant status, and overall physiological responses. The addition of MnO2 NPs, whether at 66 or 72 mg/kg, led to enhanced superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in both serum and liver tissues of the broiler chicks. Notably, the 72 mg MnO2 NPs group displayed significantly higher SOD activity compared to the other groups. The study was further justified through docking. High throughput targeted docking was performed for proteins GHS, GST, and SOD with MnO2 . SOD showed an effective binding affinity of -2.3 kcal/mol. This research sheds light on the potential of MnO2 NPs as a safe and effective feed additive for broiler chicks. 4. Novel Fluorescent Benzothiazolyl-Coumarin Hybrids as Anti-SARS-COVID-2 Agents Supported by Molecular Docking Studies: Design, Synthesis, X-ray Crystal Structures, DFT, and TD-DFT/PCM Calculations.

- Abstract
This study revealed the design and preparation of new 3-(benzo[ d ]thiazol-2-yl)-2 H -chromen-2-one derivatives 9a-h . The structures of the synthesized products were elucidated by their spectroscopic data and X-ray crystallography for compounds 9a and 9d . The prepared new compounds were measured for their fluorescence, and a good result indicated that the emission efficiency was decreased by increasing the electron-withdrawing groups from the unsubstituted compound 9a to the highly substituted derivative 9h (2 Br heavy atoms). On the other hand, the B3LYP/6-311G** theoretical level of theory was used to optimize the quantum mechanical calculations of the geometrical characteristics and energy of the novel compounds 9a-h under study. The electronic transition was investigated using the TD-DFT/PCM B3LYP approach, which uses time-dependent density functional calculations. Moreover, the compounds exhibited nonlinear optical properties (NLO) and a small HOMO-LUMO energy gap, which makes them easy to polarize. Furthermore, the acquired infrared spectra were compared with the expected harmonic vibrations of the substances 9a-h . On the other hand, binding energy analyses of compounds 9a-h with human corona virus nucleocapsid protein Nl63 (PDB ID: 5epw) were predicted using molecular docking and virtual screening tools. The results showed a promising binding and how these potent compounds were inhibiting the COVID-19 virus. Compound 9h was the most active anti-COVID-19 agent among all the synthesized benzothiazolyl-coumarin derivatives, as it forms five bonds. 6. Experimental and theoretical studies of linear and non-linear optical properties of novel fused-triazine derivatives for advanced technological applications.

- Abstract
Controlling photophysical properties is critical for the continued development of electroluminescent devices and luminescent materials. The preparation and study of novel molecules suitable as luminescent for the development of optoelectrical devices have recently received a lot of attention. Even though the as-triazine unit is a good building block for organic active substances, it is rarely used in this context. We created here novel bis-triazine derivative dyes in the far UV-Vis range by alkylation of triazine-thione derivatives with appropriate dibromo compounds. At the B3LYP/6-311**G(d,p) basis set, their optimal molecular structures were obtained. DFT technique confirmed that the new triazine derivatives are in noncoplanar with one of the two phenyl rings and the triazine plane rotating out by 102.09. Also, depending on the energy gap difference between HOMO and LUMO, some important parameters including chemical potential (π), electronegativity (χ), and chemical hardness (η) were calculated. The compounds may be readily polarized and have significant NLO characteristics, as seen by the tiny HOMO-LUMO energy gap. The calculated values for the polarizability (α) of the two new triazine derivatives have the range 6.09-10.75 × 10
-24 (esu). The emission peaks seemed to move to the long-wavelength (redshift), with a rise in the fluorescence band, suggesting that the singlet excited state is more polar than the ground state. The influence of solvent polarity and the intermolecular charge transfer (ICT) processes are reflected in the photophysical properties of new fused triazine derivatives. These properties such as extinction coefficient, absorption and emission cross-sections, fluorescence quantum yield, fluorescence lifetime, oscillator strength, the dipole moment, radiative decay rate constant, the energy yield of fluorescence, and the attenuation length were assessed and discussed., (© 2022. - Abstract
This manuscript proposes a hybrid method for landing trajectory generation of unmanned lunar mission. The proposed hybrid control scheme is the joint execution of the human urbanization algorithm (HUA) and political optimizer (PO) with radial basis functional neural network (RBFNN); hence it is named as HUA-PORFNN method. The HUA is a metaheuristic method, and it is used to solve several optimization issues and several nature-inspired methods to enhance the convergence speed with quality. On the other hand, multiple-phased political processes inspire the PO. The work aims to guide the lander with minimal fuel consumption from the initial to the final stage, thus minimizing the lunar soft landing issues based on the given cost of operation. Here, the HUAPO method is implemented to overcome thrust discontinuities, checkpoint constraints are suggested for connecting multi-landing phases, angular attitude rate is modeled to obtain radical change rid, and safeguards are enforced to deflect collision along with obstacles. Moreover, first, the issues have been resolved according to the proposed HUAPO method. Here, energy trajectories with 3 terminal processes are deemed. - Abstract
During the past two decades, many remote sensing image fusion techniques have been designed to improve the spatial resolution of the low-spatial-resolution multispectral bands. The main objective is fuse the low-resolution multispectral (MS) image and the high-spatial-resolution panchromatic (PAN) image to obtain a fused image having high spatial and spectral information. Recently, many artificial intelligence-based deep learning models have been designed to fuse the remote sensing images. But these models do not consider the inherent image distribution difference between MS and PAN images. Therefore, the obtained fused images may suffer from gradient and color distortion problems. To overcome these problems, in this paper, an efficient artificial intelligence-based deep transfer learning model is proposed. Inception-ResNet-v2 model is improved by using a color-aware perceptual loss (CPL). The obtained fused images are further improved by using gradient channel prior as a postprocessing step. Gradient channel prior is used to preserve the color and gradient information. Extensive experiments are carried out by considering the benchmark datasets. Copper-67 (T
1/2 = 61.83 h, Eβ- mean =141 keV, Iβ- total =100%; Eγ = 184.577 keV, Iγ = 48.7%) is a promising radionuclide for theranostic applications especially in radio immunotherapy. However, one of the main drawbacks for its application is related to its limited availability. Various nuclear reaction routes investigated in the last years can result in67 Cu production, although the use of proton beams is the method of choice taken into account in this work. The goal of this work is a revision of the cross-sections aimed at67 Cu yield, which were evaluated for the68 Zn(p,2p)67 Cu reaction route up to 80 MeV proton energy. A well-defined statistical procedure, i.e., the Simultaneous Evaluation on KALMAN (SOK), combined with the least-squares concept, was used to obtain the evaluated data together with the covariance matrix. The obtained evaluated data were also compared to predictions provided by the nuclear reaction model codes TALYS and EMPIRE, and a partial agreement among them has been found. - Abstract
The world has been facing the COVID-19 pandemic since December 2019. Timely and efficient diagnosis of COVID-19 suspected patients plays a significant role in medical treatment. The deep transfer learning-based automated COVID-19 diagnosis on chest X-ray is required to counter the COVID-19 outbreak. This work proposes a real-time Internet of Things (IoT) framework for early diagnosis of suspected COVID-19 patients by using ensemble deep transfer learning. The proposed framework offers real-time communication and diagnosis of COVID-19 suspected cases. The proposed IoT framework ensembles four deep learning models such as InceptionResNetV2, ResNet152V2, VGG16, and DenseNet201. The medical sensors are utilized to obtain the chest X-ray modalities and diagnose the infection by using the deep ensemble model stored on the cloud server. The proposed deep ensemble model is compared with six well-known transfer learning models over the chest X-ray dataset. This study reports the mass fractions of Al, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Zn, As, Ni, Cu, Cd, Hg, and Pb in water and sediments of the Halda river, Bangladesh, and studies the distribution, contamination, and potential ecological risks of the metals and metalloid. The average mass fractions of As, Cd, and Pb are relatively higher in sediments compared to those in background values, whereas Al, Fe, Mn, and Pb concentration fractions in water are higher than the international guideline values. The results of the different contamination indices indicate that Halda river sediments are minorly contaminated by As and Pb and moderately to considerably contaminated by Cd. The ecological risk assessments indicate considerable to high ecological risk due to Cd. Multivariate statistical analysis reveals the origin of the contaminants in the river, and indicate that Cr, Zn, Pb, and Cd are from anthropogenic activities while the other metals originate from natural lithogenic actions., (Copyright © 2020 Elsevier Ltd. - Abstract
Objectives: To determine the knowledge of primary healthcare (PHC) physicians and factors influencing implementation of the catch-up vaccination program in PHC clinics in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 136 general and family physicians between October 2018 and August 2019 in PHC clinics. A self-administered questionnaire related to knowledge, practices, and factors affecting their practices regarding vaccination was given to participants. Their responses were assessed for level of knowledge, practices regarding the vaccination program, and factors affecting their practices, and then compared between family and general physicians. Results: The majority of physicians (60%) surveyed had good knowledge of the catch-up vaccination program and no significant difference was observed between family and general physicians. Most physicians (60%) demonstrated correct knowledge of vaccination schedules and gaps between vaccines; no significant differences were observed between family and general physicians, except for the next scheduled child visit after 3 months, for the 18-month vaccination. A statistically significant difference was observed between family and general physicians related to attending educational lectures and seeing children younger than 5 years. General physicians were more involved in the vaccination program. Conclusion: The overall knowledge and practices of the catch-up vaccination program was satisfactory among PHC physicians. However, a lack of family physicians' involvement in the vaccination program was observed that needs to be addressed in their training program.

18. Error-Aware Data Clustering for In-Network Data Reduction in Wireless Sensor Networks.

A wireless sensor network (WSN) deploys hundreds or thousands of nodes that may introduce large-scale data over time. Dealing with such an amount of collected data is a real challenge for energy-constraint sensor nodes. Therefore, numerous research works have been carried out to design efficient data clustering techniques in WSNs to eliminate the amount of redundant data before transmitting them to the sink while preserving their fundamental properties. This paper develops a new error-aware data clustering (EDC) technique at the cluster-heads (CHs) for in-network data reduction. The proposed EDC consists of three adaptive modules that allow users to choose the module that suits their requirements and the quality of the data. The histogram-based data clustering (HDC) module groups temporal correlated data into clusters and eliminates correlated data from each cluster. Recursive outlier detection and smoothing (RODS) with HDC module provides error-aware data clustering, which detects random outliers using temporal correlation of data to maintain data reduction errors within a predefined threshold. Verification of RODS (V-RODS) with HDC module detects not only random outliers but also frequent outliers simultaneously based on both the temporal and spatial correlations of the data. The simulation results show that the proposed EDC is computationally cheap, able to reduce a significant amount of redundant data with minimum error, and provides efficient error-aware data clustering solutions for remote monitoring environmental applications.

19. The Potential Role of Citrus limon Powder as a Natural Feed Supplement to Boost the Productive Performance, Antioxidant Status, and Blood Biochemistry of Growing Rabbits.

- Abstract
The current study examined the influence of Citrus limon (dry lemon) on the hemato-biochemical profiles, and antioxidant indices of growing rabbits. Forty-eight growing New Zealand White rabbits (age, eight weeks; weight, 1543.33 ± 25 g) were allocated into three groups (16 animals each), the first group was (control) fed a basal diet, whereas the second and third groups were supplemented with dried lemon, 1% or 2% DLP, respectively. A GC-MS analysis of more than 27 active constituents was performed. Feed conversion efficiency was ( p < 0.05) better with diets containing 1% or 2% dry lemon, compared to the control group. Hematological indexes were increased significantly with the addition of DLP compared to those in the control group. Adding 1% or 2% dry lemon to rabbit diet increased ( p < 0.05) enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidant activities (TAC, SOD, GSH, GST, and CAT) in serum and liver tissues. Taken together, these data reveal the advantages and antioxidant effects of dry lemon supplementation for growing rabbits once supplemented at a maximum of 2% in their daily diet.

© Maxwell Scientific Organization, 2014. Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) is an emerging mobile cellular system envisaged to provide better quality of multimedia applications. Packet scheduling becomes paramount as the LTE-A delivers multimedia applications using packet switching technology. Given that LTE-A is a new technology, its ability to satisfy the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of multimedia applications demands further performance study. At present, a number of LTE-A simulators are available. However, these simulators in general are too specific in nature or their source codes are not publicly accessible for the research communities. As such, this study presents a novel simulation tool to assist the research communities to study the downlink LTE-A and further optimize packet scheduling performance. This simulation tool accurately models the downlink LTE-A taking user mobility, carrier aggregation, packet scheduling and other aspects that are relevant to the research communities into consideration. The efficacy of the simulation tool is validated through performance study of a number of well-known packet scheduling algorithms.

28. Left circumflex coronary artery to coronary sinus fistula diagnosed in infancy.

- Abstract
Coronary artery fistulas are rare anomalies, their incidence range from 0.1 to 0.2% of congenital heart defects. The left circumflex coronary artery (LCX) fistula draining into the coronary sinus (CS) is a less common form, and most cases described in the literature were adult cases. We are describing this type of fistula in an 8-month-old asymptomatic female presenting with a continuous murmur over the pericordium. Electrocardiogram was normal. Echocardiography revealed a dilated LCX and CS with turbulent flow in CS; 2-D speckle tracking echocardiography revealed normal left ventricular strain with no regional wall abnormalities. Multidetector computed tomography demonstrated the fistula. As the patient was asymptomatic, with no ventricular dilatation or dysfunction, we decided conservatively. < Learning objective: Coronary artery fistulas are rare anomalies that require complementary diagnostic modalities. 2D echocardiography, color flow Doppler, 2D speckle tracking, and multidetector computed tomography are needed to delineate the anomaly and to conclude the prognosis and long-term follow-up plans.>.

- Abstract
Objectives: To investigate perceptions and expectations of patients regarding hospital outpatient services by using a service quality gap model and factors influencing such gaps., Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study conducted between October and November 2014 in the outpatient waiting areas of a hospital in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, a sample of 306 patients was selected by convenience sampling technique. The data was collected through an Arabic version of the service quality (SERVQUAL) questionnaire consisting of 2 parts: patients' demographic characteristics, and 22 items scales of patients' expectations and perceptions of SERVQUAL. The data was analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis, independent, and paired t samples tests and one way analysis of variance test, Results: The results showed that the proposed model for service quality dimensions had a good fit by satisfying the recommended values. The patients' expectations exceeded perceptions in all service quality dimensions indicating statistically significant service quality gaps (t=26.3, p less than 0.000). Findings revealed that the empathy dimension contributed most patients' expectations (4.7 ± 0.5) and perceptions (3.7 ± 0.8) scores, and responsiveness contributed least to expectations (4.5 ± 0.6) and perceptions (3.2 ± 0.8) scores. Prompt services showed highest service quality gap, while observation of privacy showed the smallest service quality gap in the statements. The study showed a significant association between gender, age, education, multiple visits, and service quality dimensions., Conclusion: The proposed model is valid and reliable and significant service quality gaps of all 5 dimensions need to be prioritized and addressed by focused improvement efforts of hospital management.

- Abstract
Aim: This study aims to explore the clinical, microbiological, and biochemical impact of azithromycin (AZM) buccal patch in chronic generalized patients as a monotherapy as well as an adjunct to nonsurgical therapy., Materials and Methods: A parallel design was used forty periodontitis patients were randomly allocated into five groups, namely Group 1 scaling root planing (SRP) alone, Group 2 (SRP + AZM patch group), Group 3 (SRP + AZM tablet group), Group 4 (AZM patch monotherapy), and Group 5 (AZM tablet as monotherapy). Plaque index, gingival bleeding index, modified gingival index, probing pocket depth (PPD), and clinical attachment level (CAL) were assessed at baseline and 21 and 90 days. Subgingival pooled plaque sample was collected to assess periodontopathogens like Porphyromonas gingivalis and Prevotella intermedia (Pi) by anaerobic culture method. Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) was also evaluated at baseline and 21 days. Periodontal maintenance was performed in Group 1 until 90(th) day, and clinical parameter was assessed at the end of 90(th) day., Results: SRP + AZM tablets showed greater reduction in clinical parameters (P < 0.05) AZM as monotherapy did not offer clinical benefits over SRP. Baseline data were compared at the end, i.e., 90(th) day a significant reduction in plaque scores, gingival bleeding, and PPD was observed however no significant gain in the clinical attachment was observed., Conclusion: The monotherapy resulted in no improvement of periodontal parameters, microbial parameters, and TNF-α level. It is safe to use AZM + SRP as a mode of nonsurgical treatment in periodontitis patients.

- Abstract
Perfluorotetradecanoic acid (PFTeDA) is a novel perfluoroalkyl substance that ubiquitously exists in the environment. However, whether PFTeDA affects adrenal cortex function remains unclear. Male Sprague-Dawley rats (age of 60 days) were daily administered with PFTeDA (0, 1, 5, and 10 mg/kg body weight) through gavage for 28 days. PFTeDA did not change body and adrenal gland weights. PFTeDA markedly elevated serum corticosterone level at 10 mg/kg but lowering serum aldosterone level at this dosage without influencing serum adrenocorticotropic hormone level. PFTeDA thickened zona fasciculata without affecting zona glomerulosa. PFTeDA remarkably upregulated the expression of corticosterone biosynthetic genes (Mc2r, Scarb1, Star, Cyp21, Cyp11b1, and Hsd11b1) and their proteins, whereas downregulating aldosterone biosynthetic enzyme Cyp11b2 and its protein, thereby distinctly altering their serum levels. PFTeDA markedly downregulated the expression of antioxidant genes (Sod1 and Sod2) and their proteins at 10 mg/kg. PFTeDA significantly decreased SIRT1/PGC1α and AMPK signaling while stimulating AKT1/mTOR signaling. Corticosterone significantly inhibited testosterone production by adult Leydig cells at >0.1 μM in vitro; however aldosterone significantly stimulated testosterone production at 0.1 nM. In conclusion, exposure to PFTeDA at male rat adulthood causes corticosterone excess and aldosterone deficiency via SIRT1/PGC1α, AMPK, and AKT1/mTOR signals, which in turn additively leads to testosterone deficiency., (© 2024 Wiley Periodicals LLC.)

- Abstract
Background: 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 1 (11β-HSD1) interconverts active 11β-hydroxyl glucocorticoids and inactive 11keto forms. However, its directionality is determined by availability of NADP+/NADPH. In liver cells, 11β-HSD1 behaves as a primary reductase, while in Leydig cells it acts as a primary oxidase. However, the exact mechanism is not clear. The direction of 11β-HSD1 has been proposed to be regulated by hexose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (H6PDH), which catalyzes glucose-6-phosphate (G6P) to generate NADPH that drives 11β-HSD1 towards reduction., Methodology: To examine the coupling between 11β-HSD1 and H6PDH, we added G6P to rat and human liver and testis or Leydig cell microsomes, and 11β-HSD1 activity was measured by radiometry., Results and Conclusions: G6P stimulated 11β-HSD1 reductase activity in rat (3 fold) or human liver (1.5 fold), but not at all in testis. S3483, a G6P transporter inhibitor, reversed the G6P-mediated increases of 11β-HSD1 reductase activity. We compared the extent to which 11β-HSD1 in rat Leydig and liver cells might be coupled to H6PDH. In order to clarify the location of H6PDH within the testis, we used the Leydig cell toxicant ethane dimethanesulfonate (EDS) to selectively deplete Leydig cells. The depletion of Leydig cells eliminated Hsd11b1 (encoding 11β-HSD1) expression but did not affect the expression of H6pd (encoding H6PDH) and Slc37a4 (encoding G6P transporter). H6pd mRNA level and H6PDH activity were barely detectable in purified rat Leydig cells. In conclusion, the availability of H6PDH determines the different direction of 11β-HSD1 in liver and Leydig cells.

Green nanotechnology is an emerging field of research in recent decades with rapidly growing interest. This integrates green chemistry with green engineering to avoid using toxic chemicals in the synthesis of organic nanomaterials. Green nanotechnology would create a huge potential for the use of nanoparticles for more sustainable utilization in improving animal health. Nanoparticles can be synthesised by physical, chemical and biological processes. Traditional methods for physical and chemical synthesis of nanoparticles are toxic to humans, animals and environmental health, which limits their usefulness. Green synthesis of nanoparticles via biological processes and their application in animal health could maximize the benefits of nanotechnology in terms of enhancing food animal health and production as well as minimize the undesirable impacts on Planetary Health. Recent advances in nanotechnology have meant different nanomaterials, especially those from metal sources, are now available for use in nanomedicine. Metal nanoparticles are one of the most widely researched in green nanotechnology, and the number of articles on this subject in food animal production is growing. Therefore, research on metal nanoparticles using green technologies have utmost importance. In this review, we report the recent advancement of green synthesized metal nanoparticles in terms of their utilization in monogastric animal health, elucidate the research gap in this field and provide recommendations for future prospects. The Internet of Things (IoT) revolutionises modern technology, offering unprecedented opportunities for connectivity and automation. However, the increased adoption of IoT devices introduces substantial security vulnerabilities, necessitating effective anomaly detection frameworks. This Paper proposes a secure IoT anomaly detection framework by utilising four machine learning algorithms such as: Logistic Regression (LR), Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), Classification and Regression Trees (CART), and Gaussian Naive Bayes (GNB). By generating synthetic datasets with induced anomalies, the framework employs AWS IoT Core infrastructure and Python-based analysis to identify irregularities in device performance. The proposed framework achieved a high detection accuracy ranging from 91 to 98% across the tested algorithms, with CART showing the best performance. Key performance metrics, including precision, recall, and F1-score, confirmed the model's reliability in distinguishing between normal and anomalous IoT data. Experimental results demonstrate superior detection accuracy across all methods, validating the robustness of the proposed approach. This research offers a scalable solution for IoT security, paving the way for improved anomaly detection and mitigation strategies in connected environments. The integration of machine learning algorithms with IoT infrastructure allows for real-time monitoring and proactive anomaly detection in diverse IoT applications. The proposed framework enhances security measures and contributes to the overall reliability and efficiency of connected systems. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of in ovo injection and post-hatch supplementation of Citrus aurantiifolia seed on hatchability, growth performance, antioxidant capacity, immune organs weight, and intestinal morphology of Cobb 500 broilers chickens. On day 18 of incubation, 450 fertile eggs were randomly allocated into three sets: non-injected group, 0.5 µg/ml Citrus aurantiifolia seed extract (CASE) group and 0.75 µg/ml CASE group. After hatch, each set was allocated into two groups (5 replicates of 10 birds/replicate each) and was fed on a standard diet with or without Citrus aurantiifolia seed powder (CASP) supplementation (5 g/kg). The groups were divided as follows: IoCA0-C, IoCA0-CA, IoCA5-C, IoCA5-CA, IoCA75-C and IoCA75-CA where IoCA0-C was: non-injected group fed standard diet (negative control group), IoCA0-CA: non-injected and fed CASP supplemented diet (positive control group), IoCA5-C: 0.5 µg/ml of CASE-injected and fed standard diet, IoCA75-C: 0.75 µg/ml of CASE-injected and fed standard diet, IoCA5-CA: 0.5 µg/ml of CASE-injected and fed CASP supplemented diet and IoCA75-CA: 0.75 µg/ml of CASE-injected and fed CASP supplemented diet. The results revealed that the interaction between CASE in ovo injection at 0.5 µg/ml and dietary CASP supplementation at 5 g/kg in the diet increased body weight and weight gain (p < 0.001). The interaction between CASE in ovo injection and dietary CASP supplementation decreased the serum malondialdehyde concentration, the relative weight of the thymus and improved duodenum and ileum villus height (p < 0.05). In conclusion, in ovo injection and dietary supplementation of Citrus aurantiifolia seed powder can improve growth performance and the intestinal morphology of broiler chickens. HIGHLIGHTS: In ovo feeding of Citrus aurantiifolia seed extract improves chick weight at hatch. In ovo feeding and post-hatch supplementation of Citrus aurantiifolia seed improves feed utilisation. This study was conducted to assess the effect of Citrus aurantiifolia seed powder (CASP) on growth performance, ileal digestibility, blood profile, and antioxidant status of broiler chickens. A total of 600 (43.54 ± 0.85 g) day-old mixed-sex Cobb 500 broiler chicks were randomly allotted to 6 treatments with 5 replicates each and 20 birds per replicate using a completely randomized design for 42 days. The treatments comprised negative control, T – (standard diet), positive control, T + (standard diet + oxytetracycline 50%) and a standard diet supplemented with 0.25% (T0.25%), 0.5% (T0.5%), 0.75% (T0.75%) or 1% (T1%) of CASP respectively. The results showed that birds in the T0.5% treatment had a significantly lower feed conversion ratio (P < 0.01). The improvement in crude protein and phosphorus ileal digestibility were associated with increase in CASP. Beyond 0.5% of CASP, the serum glucose and protein decreased (P < 0.05). Cholesterol concentration decreased with CASP in the diet (P < 0.01). Supplementation of CASP improved (P < 0.01) total antioxidant capacity, and glutathione peroxidase activities levels with best values for the T0.5% and T0.75% group. It was concluded that CASP at 0.5% and 0.75% in the diets of broiler chickens can enhance feed utilization and overall performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The syndrome of 17α-hydroxylase deficiency is due to the inability to synthesize cortisol and is associated with enhanced secretion of both corticosterone and 11-deoxy-corticosterone (DOC). In humans, corticosterone and its 5α-Ring A-reduced metabolites are excreted via the bile into the intestine and transformed by anaerobic bacteria to 21-dehydroxylated products: 11β-OH-progesterone or 11β-OH-(allo)-5α-preganolones (potent inhibitors of 11β-HSD2 and 11β-HSD1 dehydrogenase). Neomycin blocks the formation of these steroid metabolites and can blunt the hypertension in rats induced by either ACTH or corticosterone. 3α,5α-Tetrahydro-corticosterone, 11β-hydroxy-progesterone, and 3α,5α-tetrahydro-11β-hydroxy-progesterone strongly inhibit 11β-HSD2 and 11β-HSD1 dehydrogenase activity; all these compounds are hypertensinogenic when infused in adrenally intact rats. Urine obtained from a patient with 17α-hydroxylase deficiency demonstrated markedly elevated levels of endogenous glycyrrhetinic acid-like factors (GALFs) that inhibit 11β-HSD2 and 11β-HSD1 dehydrogenase activity (>300 times greater, and >400 times greater, respectively, than those in normotensive controls). Thus, in addition to DOC, corticosterone and its 5α-pathway products as well as the 11-oxygenated progesterone derivatives may play a previously unrecognized role in the increased Na(+) retention and BP associated with patients with 17α-hydroxylase deficiency., (Copyright © 2013. - Abstract
Disulfiram (DSF), used for the treatment of alcohol use disorders (AUDs) for over six decades, most recently has shown promise for treating cocaine dependence. Although DSF's mechanism of action in alcohol abuse is due to the inhibition of liver mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH2), its mechanism of action in the treatment of cocaine dependence is unknown. DSF is a pro-drug, forming a number of metabolites each with discrete pharmacological actions. One metabolite formed during DSF bioactivation is S-(N, N-diethylcarbamoyl) glutathione (carbamathione) (carb). We previously showed that carb affects glutamate binding. In the present studies, we employed microdialysis techniques to investigate the effect of carb administration on dopamine (DA), GABA, and glutamate (Glu) in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) and medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC), two brain regions implicated in substance abuse dependence. The effect of DSF on DA, GABA, and Glu in the NAc also was determined. Both studies were carried out in male rats. Carb (20, 50, 200 mg/kg i v) in a dose-dependent manner increased DA, decreased GABA, and had a biphasic effect on Glu, first increasing and then decreasing Glu in both the NAc and mPFC. These changes all occurred concurrently. After carb administration, NAc and mPFC carb, as well as carb in plasma, were rapidly eliminated with a half-life for each approximately 4 min, while the changes in DA, GABA, and GLu in the NAc and mPFC persisted for approximately two hours. The maximal increase in carb (Cmax) in the NAc and mPFC after carb administration was dose-dependent, as was the area under the curve (AUC). DSF (200 mg/kg i p) also increased DA, decreased GABA, and had a biphasic effect on Glu in the NAc similar to that observed in the NAc after carb administration. When the cytochrome P450 inhibitor N-benzylimidazole (NBI) (20 mg/kg i p) was administered before DSF dosing, no carb could be detected in the NAc and plasma and also no changes in NAc DA, GABA, and GLu occurred. Changes in these neurotransmitters occurred only if carb was formed from DSF. When NBI was administered prior to dosing with carb, the increase in DA, decrease in GABA, and biphasic effect on GLu was similar to that seen after dosing with carb only. The i p or i v administration of carb showed similar changes in DA, GABA, and GLu, except the time to reach Cmax for DA as well as the changes in GABA, and GLu after i p administration occurred later. The elimination half-life of carb and the area under the curve (AUC) were similar after both routes of administration. It is concluded that carb must be formed from DSF before any changes in DA, GABA, and GLu in the NAc and mPFC are observed. DSF and carb, when administered to rats, co-release DA, GABA, and GLu. Carb, once formed can cross the blood brain barrier and enter the brain. Although inhibition of liver ALDH2 is the accepted mechanism for DSF's action in treating AUDs, the concurrent changes in DA, GABA, and GLu in the NAc and mPFC after DSF administration suggest that changes in these neurotransmitters as a potential mechanism of action not only for AUDs, but also for cocaine dependence cannot be excluded., (Copyright © 2013 Elsevier Ltd. 39. Non-destructive elemental analysis of large meteorite samples by prompt gamma-ray neutron activation analysis with the internal mono-standard method.

- Abstract
Prompt gamma-ray neutron activation analysis (PGNAA) using the internal mono-standard method was tested for its applicability to analyzing large solid samples including irregularly shaped meteorite samples. For evaluating the accuracy and precision of the method, large quantities of the Geological Survey of Japan standardized rock powders (JB-1a, JG-1a, and JP-1) were analyzed and 12 elements (B, Na, Mg, Al, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe, Sm, and Gd) were determined by using Si as an internal standard element. Analytical results were mostly in agreement with literature values within 10 %. The precision of the method was also shown to be within 10 % (1σ) for most of these elements. The analytical procedure was then applied to four stony meteorites (Allende, Kimble County, Leedey, Lake Labyrinth) and four iron meteorites (Canyon Diablo, Toluca (Mexico), Toluca (Xiquipilco), Squaw Creek) consisting of large chunks or single slabs. For stony meteorites, major elements (Mg, Al, Si, S, Ca, and Ni), minor elements (Na and Mn) and trace element (B, Cl, K, Ti, Co, and Sm) were determined with adequate accuracy. For iron meteorites, results for the Co and Ni mass fractions determined are all consistent with corresponding literature values. After the analysis, it was confirmed that the residual radioactivity remaining in the sample after PGNAA was very low and decreased down to the background level. This study shows that PGNAA with the internal mono-standard method is highly practical for determining the elemental composition of large, irregularly shaped solid samples including meteorites.

This cross sectional study was conducted to measure the PEFR values of normal school going children of Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Peak expiatory flow rate (PEFR) is a lung function test which is easily measurable and reproducible but the base line values of PEFR have not been studied in large scale among Bangladeshi children. In Mymensingh municipality out of 79 schools 4 schools were selected purposively. A total of 984 (499 boys and 485 girls, nearly equal in ratio) normal children (6-15 years), were selected randomly by using lottery technic in classroom. To obtain peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) mini Wright peak flow meter was used. The highest of three readings was taken as the correct value. Anthropometric parameters including body weight and height were recorded by bathroom scale and stadiometer respectively and body surface area was calculated. According to age interval (10 months) in boys and girls the mean difference of PEFR values showed that among age categories of 6, 7 & 8 years had no significant (p were <0.18, <0.73 and <0.70 accordingly) and all other age categories the mean difference of PEFR between boys and girls had significant (p<0.01). The correlation coefficient (r values) and the level of significance between different anthropometric parameters and PEFR in case of boys and girls were significant (p<0.001). Correlation of height (boys r=0.961 & girls r=0.954) with PEFR was the highest in comparison to other anthropometric parameters (age, sex and body weight). Boys had significantly higher values of PEFR than the girls at any height.

- Abstract
Penicillamine toxicity in Wilson's disease has been well reported but rarely seen now as newer agents are being used. We present a case who developed multiple rare complications of Penicillamine concurrently. Our patient is one of three siblings on Penicillamine, she was the only one who developed massive breast enlargement four months after commencing Penicillamine therapy, as well as dermatological adverse reactions and myasthenia gravis three more months later. All the adverse effects improved soon after substitution of the offending agent with Trientine.

A descriptive cross sectional study was done in the department of Pediatrics Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. The purpose of the study was to assess breast feeding pattern, complementary feeding pattern, types of complementary foods and also to assess the nutritional status and to detect any relationship with the nutritional status and the feeding practices. Mothers with their children aged less than 2 years were included and very sick children, mother less children, handicapped children were excluded. Four hundred (400) consecutive children were enrolled from eight upazillas of Mymensingh district who were selected randomly. Out of 400 children, 214 children (53.5%) were male and 186 children (47.5%) were female and M:F was 1.2:1. Exclusive breastfeeding rate was 41.5%. Pre-lacteal feeding rate were 30.7% and most common pre-lacteal foods were honey and sugar water. Colostrum was given in 69.3% children. Breast feeding continued at the time of interview was 58.1%. Complementary feeding started in time in 35.8%, early weaning in 44.5% children. Type of complementary food was mainly luta (rice powder mixed with boiled water and sugar only) in 38.8% and khichuri (rice, pulses, soybean oil) in 19.5%. Bottle feeding rate was 31.30%. Around 43% children were underweight and 10.25% children were severely underweight and common in between 12 to 23 months of age group. Around 29% children were stunted among 11.25% were severely stunted. About 13.5% children were wasted and among them 2.5% were severely wasted. Stunting prevalent over the age of 9 months and wasting started after 6 months of age. Malnutrition was common in partially breast fed and early weaning with carbohydrate rich food.

Bangladesh is a developing country. Many workers are involved in different industries which are polluted with dust e.g. saw mill, rice mill, jarda factory etc. The present study may give a preliminary idea about the lung function status of those workers. The study has been designed to analyze the lung function status of those workers by measuring TCO2 aiming to recommend necessary steps to improved the quality of life of workers of dust industry in our socioeconomic context. This study was to evaluate pulmonary functional status of those workers who are exposed to dust in industries like saw mill 26.00 mmol/l, rice mill 31.10 mmol/l and jarda factory 22.11 mmol/l. In all groups p values were >0.1 which was not significant except jarda factory worker in which p value was <0.001 and it was highly significant. This study was carried out to increase the awareness of the workers and to reduce the cost of employment.

Here we describe further experiments to support our hypothesis that bidirectional 11β-HSD1-dehydrogenase in Leydig cells is a NADP(H) regenerating system. In the absence of androstenedione (AD), substrate for 17β-HSD3, incubation of Leydig cells with corticosterone (B) or several C(19)- and C(21)-11β-OH-steroids, in the presence of [(3)H]-11-dehydro-corticosterone (A), stimulated 11β-HSD1-reductase activity. However, in presence of 30 μM AD, testosterone (Teso) synthesis is stimulated from 4 to 197 picomole/25,000 cells/30 min and concomitantly inhibited 11β-HSD1-reductase activity, due to competition for the common cofactor NADPH needed for both reactions. Testo production was further significantly increased (p<0.05) to 224-267 picomole/25,000 cells/30 min when 10 μM 11β-OH-steroids (in addition to 30 μM AD) were also included. Similar results were obtained in experiments conducted with lower concentrations of AD (5 μM), and B or A (500 nM). Incubations of 0.3-6.0 μM of corticosterone (plus or minus 30 μM AD) were then performed to test the effectiveness of 17β-HSD3 as a possible NADP(+) regenerating system. In the absence of AD, increasing amounts (3-44 pmol/25,000 cells/30 min) of 11-dehydro-corticosterone were produced with increasing concentrations of corticosterone in the medium. When 30 μM AD was included, the rate of 11-dehydro-corticosterone formation dramatically increased 1.3-5-fold producing 4-210 pmol/25,000 cells/30 min of 11-dehydro-corticosterone. We conclude that 11β-HSD1 is enzymatically coupled to 17β-HSD3, utilizing NADPH and NADP in intermeshed regeneration systems., (Copyright © 2011 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.)

A record based descriptive type of study was carried out among the under-graduate students of Mymensingh Medical College from the session 1966-67 to 2006-07. The academic years were divided into four decades and admission was followed into three categories such as retained, cancellation and drop-out. Total number of the students was 5892. Among them 3848(65.30%) were male and 2044(34.69%) were female. Out of 5892 students drop-out was 282(4.78%) and admission cancel was 304(5.15%). It was also found that drop-out in male was 232(6.02%) and in female was 50(2.44%) and admission cancel in male was 266(5.87%) and in female was 78(3.81%). The difference was found statistically significant (p<0.001). It was observed that gradually the drop-out and admission cancel rate is decreasing from the very beginning to till now. It was also observed that all drop-out and admission cancellation were in first & second year students. There was no continuation of their class roll numbers in third year registration.

Arsenic concentrations were measured in water, soil and arum (vegetables) samples using the Neutron Activation Analysis method and a correlation between arsenic concentrations in the samples was investigated. The case study at Bagerhat, Bangladesh revealed that almost all the water samples were contaminated by a hazardous level of arsenic that exceeding the World Health Organization recommended value of 0.05 mg/L for Bangladesh. Arsenic concentration of all the water samples ranged from 0.09 to 0.87 mg/L. The concentrations in soil and aurum samples were found to be in the range of 2.22-35.21 and 0.07-0.73 mg/kg, respectively. A positive correlation between arsenic concentrations in soil and water samples was observed. Aurum sample was found to be contaminated by arsenic to a harmful level if the corresponding water sample was also highly contaminated.

Gestational anemia is a common public health problem in our country. Most anemia during pregnancy results from an increased need for iron as her body is making more blood. Often dietary supplementation does not provide enough iron to meet the extra needs. Also the growing baby takes all the iron it needs from mother, regardless of how much iron is stored in mother's blood. Gestational Anemia contributed significantly to maternal morbidity and mortality, IUGR, preterm delivery and perinatal morbidity and mortality. A high proportion of women in both industrialized and developing countries become anemic during pregnancy. The most important cause of gestational anemia due to iron deficiency, because high iron requirements during pregnancy are not easily fulfilled by dietary intake. Adequate iron stores can help a pregnant women replace lost red blood cells. So, iron supplementation is strongly recommended for all pregnant women in developing countries. Oral iron intake is the treatment of choice and almost all pregnant women can be treated effectively with oral iron preparation during their pregnancy period.

- Abstract
The present study was carried out in the Department of Physiology, Mymensingh Medical College, Mymensingh, Bangladesh during the period of July 2006 to June 2007 to evaluate the effect of pregnancy on serum LDL-cholesterol. The serum concentrations of LDL-cholesterol was measured in 100cases during their 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy and in a control group of 100 cases of non pregnant women which was matched on reproductive age. Data were analyzed by computer with SPSS program using unpaired student 't' test. The result showed that the pregnant women had significantly higher concentrations of serum LDL-cholesterol. Higher concentrations of serum LDL-cholesterol was more common in pregnant than control and reaching maximum at 3rd trimester of pregnancy. This may be a purely physiological response to pregnancy or it may be indicative of pathology in some women. These results warrant a follow up study to investigative whether the LDL hypercholesterolemia persists after parturition.

Introduction: Endpoints confirming block in the critical isthmus in sinus rhythm and with pace mapping have not been established., Methods and Results: A 44-year-old man with a history of Tetralogy of Fallot presented with recurrent ventricular tachycardia (VT). Entrainment mapping was consistent with a macroreentrant circuit rotating in a clockwise fashion under the pulmonic valve. After termination of the VT in a critical isthmus located on the conal free wall, a pace map proximal to the site of successful ablation was consistent with a change in QRS morphology. This change in QRS morphology suggested critical isthmus block and successful ablation, which was confirmed by noninducibility with programmed stimulation., Conclusion: Evidence of conduction block can be used as an additional endpoint for successful ablation of VT.

Retirement literally means withdrawing from the service. The retirement age varies from country to country, generally between 55 and 70 years. There are many effects of retirement upon retirees. The physical and mental health may be disrupted or decline or may remain unaffected. Early retirement have an increased mortality than those who retired lately. Mandatory retirement is applicable to certain occupation like military personnel and airline pilot. Life after retirement from service may have many options like retired community, charities, tourism, and care for grand children or devote to a hobby or sports. The responsibilities of the Government, family and society are the key for the betterment of retired persons. Staying healthy, maintaining social support, spiritual life, good finance and making daily routine prevent stress after retirement.
