1. Design of a Dual-Band Three-Way Power Divider with Unequally High Power Split Ratio

Abstract

In this paper, a dual-band three-way power divider with unequally high power split ratio is proposed. The dual-band operation is achieved by using a two-section impedance transformer, and to reach a high split ratio, transmission lines with impractical high characteristic impedances are replaced with dual–band T-shaped structures. The design is conducted with a thorough analysis and systematic design procedure for facilitating the rapid development of the prototypes. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed design method, an example of a power divider with a power split ratio of 7:5:1 is investigated, fabricated, and measured on a Rogers RO4003C substrate. Good agreements between the simulation and measurement results are obtained. Compared with several three-way unequal dual-band power dividers in previous works of the others, our proposed power divider delivered the highest power split ratio while still retaining good performance of insertion loss, return loss, and isolation between output ports.

3. Broadband microwave antenna for uniform manipulation of millimeter-scale volumes of diamond quantum sensors

Abstract

Quantum sensors based on nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond are expected to demonstrate a wide variety of applications. For high-sensitivity quantum sensors with NV center ensembles, uniform manipulation of the electron spins of the NV centers in large volumes is required. In addition, a broad microwave frequency bandwidth for manipulating the NV centers' electron spin is necessary for vector magnetometry and measurement under a finite static magnetic field. Here, we demonstrate a broadband microwave antenna for uniform manipulation of millimeter-scale volumes of diamond quantum sensors. The simulation shows that the current is distributed at both edges of the loop coil of a single copper plate due to the skin effect. The loop coil acts like a Helmholtz coil, which realizes uniformity in the z-direction of the microwave magnetic field ( B1). The plate structure has a higher mechanical stability, durability, and a larger heat capacity than the Helmholtz coil, due to its large volume. The antenna achieves a higher performance than previously reported antennae, with a maximal B1 of 4.5 G, a broad bandwidth of 287 ± 6 MHz, and a peak-to-peak variation of [Formula: see text] over a 3.1 mm3 cylinder volume. These performances show that the presented antenna is suitable for manipulating solid-state spin ensembles for high-sensitivity quantum sensors.

5. Electroluminescence of negatively charged single NV centers in diamond

Abstract

The realization of electroluminescence (EL) of negatively charged nitrogen vacancy (NV−) centers is important toward all-electrical control of diamond quantum devices. In this study, we demonstrated electrical excitation and detection of EL of single NV− centers by using lateral diamond p+–i(n−)–n+ diodes. It had been grown by homoepitaxy using the plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition technique. We introduced a lightly phosphorus doped i(n−) layer to stabilize the negative state of NV centers. It was estimated that the efficiency of the electrical excitation rate of the NV center was more than 30 times enhanced by introducing lateral diamond p+–i(n−)–n+ diodes structure compared with the previous vertical diode. Furthermore, the EL of a single NV− center embedded in the i(n−) layer region was characterized. The results show that the charge state of the single NV centers can be manipulated by the voltage applied to the p+–i(n−)–n+ diode, where the emission of EL is increasingly dominated by NV− in the range of 30 to 50 V.

Abstract

In 2008, we published the first set of guidelines for standardizing research in autophagy. Since then, this topic has received increasing attention, and many scientists have entered the field. Our knowledge base and relevant new technologies have also been expanding. Thus, it is important to formulate on a regular basis updated guidelines for monitoring autophagy in different organisms. Despite numerous reviews, there continues to be confusion regarding acceptable methods to evaluate autophagy, especially in multicellular eukaryotes. Here, we present a set of guidelines for investigators to select and interpret methods to examine autophagy and related processes, and for reviewers to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of reports that are focused on these processes. These guidelines are not meant to be a dogmatic set of rules, because the appropriateness of any assay largely depends on the question being asked and the system being used. Moreover, no individual assay is perfect for every situation, calling for the use of multiple techniques to properly monitor autophagy in each experimental setting. Finally, several core components of the autophagy machinery have been implicated in distinct autophagic processes (canonical and noncanonical autophagy), implying that genetic approaches to block autophagy should rely on targeting two or more autophagy-related genes that ideally participate in distinct steps of the pathway. Along similar lines, because multiple proteins involved in autophagy also regulate other cellular pathways including apoptosis, not all of them can be used as a specific marker for bona fide autophagic responses. Here, we critically discuss current methods of assessing autophagy and the information they can, or cannot, provide. Our ultimate goal is to encourage intellectual and technical innovation in the field.

Abstract

Apart from applications in classical information-processing devices, the electrical control of atomic defects in solids at room temperature will have a tremendous impact on quantum devices that are based on such defects. In this study, we demonstrate the electrical manipulation of individual prominent representatives of such atomic solid-state defects, namely, the negative charge state of single nitrogen-vacancy defect centers (NV^{−}) in diamond. We experimentally demonstrate, deterministic, purely electrical charge-state initialization of individual NV centers. The NV centers are placed in the intrinsic region of a p-i-n diode structure that facilitates the delivery of charge carriers to the defect for charge-state switching. The charge-state dynamics of a single NV center were investigated by time-resolved measurements and a nondestructive single-shot readout of the charge state. Fast charge-state switching rates (from negative to neutrally charged defects), which are greater than 0.72 ± 0.10 μs^{−1}, were realized. Furthermore, in no-operation mode, the realized charge states were stable for presumably much more than 0.45 s. We believe that the results obtained are useful not only for ultrafast electrical control of qubits, long T_{2} quantum memory, and quantum sensors associated with single NV centers but also for classical memory devices based on single atomic storage bits working under ambient conditions.

Abstract

Tsubame is a university-built small satellite mission to measure polarization of hard X-ray photons (30–200 keV) from gamma-ray bursts (GRB) using azimuthal angle anisotropy of Compton-scattered photons. Polarimetry in the hard X-ray and soft gamma-ray band should play a crucial role in understanding of high energy emission mechanisms, the distribution of magnetic fields and radiation fields of gamma-ray bursts. Tsubame has two instruments: the Wide-field Bust Monitor (WBM) and the Hard X-ray Compton Polarimeter (HXCP). The WBM detects a burst and determines on board the direction of the burst occurrence with an accuracy of 10°. The spacecraft is then slewed to point the GRB within 15 s from the WBM trigger using the Control Moment Gyro (CMG), a high speed attitude control device. HXCP will measure the polarized X-ray photons from the GRB while the spacecraft spins slowly around the bore sight. In this paper, we present an overview of the Tsubame mission, the results of a test experiment for HXCP using a polarized hard X-ray beam, and its comparison with a Monte Carlo simulation.

Abstract

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is an important tool for aeronautical engineers. Instead of expensive super-computers or clusters, using custom pipelines built on FPGAs is expected to be a cost effective solution to accelerate CFD. The problem is that to keep the pipeline busy is difficult because of the memory bandwidth. To deal with this problem, an effective memory access method using block-RAMs is implemented based on a careful survey about memory access pattern. This work is targetting on two major subroutines in UPACS, a CFD software package. As a result, the amount of data transfer is reduced about 40%. This shows 46-170 fold speed-up is expected by several Virtex-4 FPGAs compared to Itanium2 processor.

Abstract

Fatigue failures occur in bridges because of their long term use and the severe traffic load conditions. Attempts that have been made to avoid have focussed on improvements to the design and fabrication processes, but improving the fatigue strength of the base plates has been regarded as impossible. On the other hand, new functional structural steel plates were developed in 2001 in Japan. This fatigue resistant steel has high fatigue strength at welded joints and also has high resistance against fatigue crack propagation in the base plates. It has already been used widely for ship fabrication in Japan. Therefore the applicability such the steel plates for bridges was examined in this study. Beam to column connections, joints between deck plate and U-rib and steel plate girders were selected as suitable applications. The results of this study on their applicability to each type of member are reported in this paper. In addition, an example of the application to a steel plate girder bridge in Japan is introduced.

Abstract

With the progress and rapid increase in mobile terminals, the design of antennas for small mobile terminals is acquiring great importance. In view of this situation, the design concept of antenna systems for small mobile terminals and its future perspective are discussed, referring to the trends in modern mobile communications and the demands for the antenna system. The design concept of antenna systems has changed along with the progress of mobile systems. In the conventional design, the conducting material of the equipment case, existing near the antenna element, is included as a part of the radiator in the antenna system, without regard to whether or not it has been considered. In the latest mobile phones, the design concept has been advanced to aim at improving the antenna's performance, and the treatment of the case, etc., has become a part of this. Some particular considerations for the design are to relieve the degradation of the antenna's performance due to the human-body effect, to overcome the SAR problems, and yet to make the size small. Furthermore, it is now time to proceed to the more-advanced concept, in which implementation of adaptive control and software is considered, even in small mobile terminals. Typical trends in modern communications systems are discussed, and the demands of these trends-which are summarized as down-sizing, function, and intelligence-are taken up for future antenna structures. Small-antenna technology and the application of the integration technology to antenna systems are essential for realizing such future structures.

Abstract

The effectiveness of using balanced antenna systems for handsets to reduce degradation of antenna gain due to the body effect is discussed. Analyses, both theoretical and experimental, show much lower influence of the body effect on antenna performance so that degradation of gain at the talk position would be reduced by means of the balanced antenna structure as compared with an unbalanced antenna structure. An antenna model using a loop element placed on a rectangular ground plane and fed with balanced line is taken as an example. Current distributions on the ground plane as well as on the antenna element, and radiation patterns with and without human head and hand models, are studied for both balanced and unbalanced antenna structures. The effectiveness of the balanced structure is evidenced by the reduction of current flow on the ground plane and small variation in the radiation patterns in the balanced-antenna systems as compared with the unbalanced structure. 25. Exercise-Activated mPFC Tri-Synaptic Pathway Ameliorates Depression-Like Behaviors in Mouse.

Abstract

Exercise is considered as playing a pivotal role in the modulation of emotional responses. However, a precise circuit that mediates the effects of exercise on depression have yet to be elucidated. Here, a molecularly defined tri-synaptic pathway circuit is identified that correlates motor inputs with antidepressant effects. With this pathway, initial inputs from neurons within the dorsal root ganglia (DRG) project to excitatory neurons in the gracile nucleus (GR), which in turn connect with 5-HTergic neurons in the dorsal raphe nucleus (DRN), eventually coursing to excitatory pyramidal neurons within the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC). Exercise activates this pathway, with the result that depressive- and anxiety-like behaviors in mice are significantly reduced. In addition, it is found that exercise may exert antidepressant effects through regulating synaptic plasticity within this tri-synaptic pathway. These findings reveal a hindbrain-to-forebrain neuronal circuit that specifically modulates depression and provides a potential mechanism for the antidepressant effects of exercise., (© 2024 The Author(s). Abstract

The bellows-shape electrostatic microactuator was developed by using a novel fabrication technique which combines excimer laser ablation and polymer/metal film deposition. The actuator consists of ∼2.5 μm thick parylene (poly- para -xylelene) polymer bellows and gold electrodes. The actuator is 1.2 mm in diameter and the bellows part is a hollow screw thread the pitch of which is 23 μm. Parylene and gold electrode are evaporated on the screw-shape polyimide core mold made by excimer laser ablation. At the end of the fabrication, the core mold is removed by wet etching. The actuator is driven by DC voltage and the displacement is 30 μm (3.4% of the length of the actuator) and the actuation speed exceeded 20 μm/ms when applied 100 V.

Abstract

Large ZnSe single crystals with a diameter of 30 mm and a thickness of 25 mm were successfully obtained by the rotational chemical vapor transport (R-CVT) using iodine as a transport agent, which comprises the rotation of the horizontal growth ampoule with a constant frequency. Two-step annealing was developed to ensure the stable growth of the epitaxial layer by MBE on the obtained ZnSe substrates in addition to electrical conductivity. It was demonstrated that the optical properties of the CVT-grown ZnSe, photoluminescence and excitation of SA emission, was superior for the fabrication of white LEDs.

Abstract

FLT3 is a member of receptor tyrosine kinases expressed in leukemia cells, as well as in hematopoietic stem cells. Recently, a somatic alteration of the FLT3 gene was found in acute myeloid leukemia, as an internal tandem duplication (FLT3/ITD) which caused elongation of the juxtamembrane (JM) domain of FLT3. Here we characterized the FLT3/ITD and investigated its clinical significance in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). Seventy-four newly diagnosed patients with APL, who were treated with the same protocol in a multi-institutional study, were studied for the FLT3/ITD. Genomic and message sequences of the FLT3 gene were amplified by means of polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and elongated PCR products were sequenced. Fifteen patients (20.3%) had FLT3/ITD, all of which were transcribed in frame. Location of the duplicated fragments (six to 30 amino acids) varied from patient to patient. However, they always contained either Y591 or Y599, but the tyrosine kinase domain was not significantly affected. This finding implied that signal transduction of FLT3 is amplified by the duplication. Clinically, the presence of FLT3/ITD was related to high peripheral white blood cell counts as well as peripheral leukemia cell counts (P < 0.0001), high LDH level (P = 0.04), and low fibrinogen concentration (P = 0.04). These data suggest that FLT3/ITD plays a significant role in progression of APL.

Abstract

The eigenvalue characteristics of a ferrimagnetic tridisk-coupled (TDC) resonator are described first. A TDC resonator is made of three AlYIG ferrite disks partially scraped and mutually attached on a center conductor. The EM field is treated with a consistent theory. The eigenvalue characteristics computed with stress on the mode of /spl nu/=1 are represented by the Z/sub 10/ versus Z/sub 0/ and Z/sub 1/ versus /spl kappa///spl mu/ relationships, where Z/sub 10/ is a degenerate eigenvalue, Z/sub 0/ is a wavenumber-eccentric radius product, and Z/sub 1/ is a continuously varying eigenvalue dependent on /spl kappa///spl mu/ with a given value of Z/sub 0/. Z/sub 10/ is distinguished by either a single- or double-value region as a function of Z/sub 0/. The computed Z/sub 1/ versus /spl kappa///spl mu/ graph belonging to the double-value region demonstrates a contradiction to the physical reality, which is resolved by introducing an equivalent circular resonant mode. The equivalent resonant mode is definitely identified by a degenerate eigenvalue and its modal curve with large modal separation. Experiments were carried out with various center conductors. The experimental results support the equivalent resonant mode. Finally, discussions are presented. >

Abstract

To develop a new technology for the purification of formaldehyde from formalin by a distillation method, the vapor-liquid equilibrium of formaldehyde—water binary systems was investigated. Based on the studies of Thompson et al. and Iliceto et al., the vaporliquid equilibrium of formaldehyde and water are calculated and these calculations are in good agreement with the reported data. It was found that the vapor pressure of formaldehyde is determined by the free formaldehyde concentration (mol/L), whereas the vapor pressure of water is determined by the molar ratio of free water. The vapor-liquid equilibrium of formaldehyde-water in the presence of a diluent was also investigated. It was shown by calculation that in some cases, when the concentration of the diluent is high, the volatility of formaldehyde is always higher than that of water and these calculations are in good agreement with experimental data. Based on this principle, the purification of formaldehyde by an extraction distillation method was established. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Abstract

From January 17, 1992 to January 16, 1993, laparoscopic adrenalectomy was performed in 7 patients (3 men, 4 women) with primary aldosteronism ranging in age from 35 to 65 years (mean 48.7 years). Five of the adrenal lesions were on the left side and two were on the right. Five to six trocar-sheath units were used, and adrenal tumors were successfully removed with adjacent normal adrenal glands in all patients. The operative time ranged from 165 to 572 min (mean 302 min), operative blood loss was between 50 and 450 ml (mean 217.2 ml), and there was no major complication. In conclusion, laparoscopic adrenalectomy is a safe alternative operative method for primary aldosteronism, although application of this technique to other types of adrenal lesions remains to be examined.

Abstract

We reviewed histological and clinical findings of six cases of borderline chondrosarcoma and examined the expression of collagen types I, II, III, V, and VI by immunohistochemical analysis of these tumors. Borderline chondrosarcoma is defined as a cartilaginous tumor of bone resembling enchondroma on the basis of histomorphology. Clinically the tumor causes intermittent vague pain unrelated to physical activities. On radiographs borderline chondrosarcoma is characterized by evidence of endosteal erosion. We observed local recurrences in two cases treated by intralesional excision and marginal excision, and one of those cases died of inoperable local tumor recurrence. In our histological analysis based on tissue patterns, there were enchondromatous patterns in five cases, and chondrosarcomatous patterns in four cases. In the second recurrent tumor in one case, a chondrosarcomatous pattern was newly observed, and the recurrent tumor was found to be a low-grade chondrosarcoma cytologically in the other case. In the tumor matrix immunoreactivity for collagen types II and VI was predominant, with collagen types I, III, and V showing heterogeneous expression in some cases. In all cases rimming of tumor lobules with collagen types I and V was absent. Immunoreactivity for collagen type II in the cytoplasm of tumor cells was found in four cases and all three recurrent tumors. Borderline chondrosarcoma, as defined by histology, clinical symptoms and radiological appearance, shows a collagen distribution pattern similar to that of low-grade chondrosarcoma. These findings are in accordance with the clinical outcome of borderline chondrosarcoma which parallels that of low-grade chondrosarcoma. Thus borderline chondrosarcoma may be best treated by wide en-bloc excision rather than curettage.

We have developed the Far‐Infrared Interferometric Telescope Experiment (FITE). It will be the first astronomical infrared interferometer working in space. FITE is a balloon‐borne telescope, and will operate in the stratosphere (at an altitude of 35 kilometers). FITE is a Michelson‐type stellar interferometer, and has a long baseline of 20 meters (at maximum). The purpose of the FITE project is to achieve a high spatial resolution of 1 arcsecond at a wavelength of 100 micrometers.For its first flight, FITE has an 8‐meter baseline, and the aim is to measure the interference fringes with a spatial resolution of 2.5 arcseconds. In order to achieve this aim, the two beams must be focused within 2.5 arcseconds accuracy in the imaging quality, within 10 arcseconds of accuracy in the beam alignment, and within 30 micrometers accuracy in the optical path length between the two beams. Abstract

We selected the target stars for the Subaru Strategic Exploration of Exoplanets and Disks (SEEDS) with the High‐contrast Coronagraphic Imager for Adaptive Optics (HiCIAO/AO188) observations from the members of open clusters and moving groups. For this selection, we defined the criteria for open clusters and moving groups. Using those selection criteria, we made a target list for open clusters and moving groups. The number of target stars selected is 50 from each category. As a result, the target stars for the open cluster category were selected only from the Pleiades, and those for the moving groups were from six different moving groups. We calculated the expected number of exoplanet detections by HiCIAO and AO188 (to be used on Subaru) by assuming the exoplanet formation probability. The expected number of the direct exoplanet detection is 28 in this category.

In this study, we analyzed the change on the mutual coupling with respect to the spacing between two LFMA elements and propose the effective method to decrease the mutual coupling, by using a bridge line linking two antennas. Abstract

The compact antennas with balanced effect have been introduced with the change of their configuration. These antennas are effective to mitigate the antenna performance degradation due to the human body effect and also have flexible adjustment of antenna impedance and capacity of wideband and multi-resonance characteristics. Second, a downsizing technique of antenna for handset by utilizing a magnetic material has been investigated. Suitable configuration and arrangement of magnetic materials were found by the experiment and simulation. In a result, it was found that approximately 40% miniaturization of PIFA is possible at 900MHz and 2GHz band.

A folded dipole antenna for handsets has already been introduced and analyzed as one of unbalanced feed antennas for handsets, which is very effective to mitigate the antenna performance degradation due to the body effect. To achieve lower profile of folded loop antenna, built-in folded dipole antenna, which has a structure folded loop elements sideway so that the antenna can be placed on the ground plane, has been proposed. In this paper, the parameters related to the feed structure are optimized in order to obtain a wider bandwidth for the built-in bent folded dipole antenna for handsets (BBFDA), and the fundamental performances are analyzed both theoretically and experimentally.

As functional ABCB1 haplotypes were recently reported in the promoter region of the gene, we resequenced the ABCB1 distal promoter region, along with other regions (the enhancer and proximal promoter regions, and all 28 exons), in a total of 533 Japanese subjects. Linkage disequilibrium (LD) analysis based on 92 genetic variations revealed 4 LD blocks with the same make up as previously described (Blocks -1, 1, 2 and 3), except that Block 1 was expanded to include the distal promoter region, and that a new linkage between polymorphisms -1,789GA in the distal promoter region and IVS5 + 123AG in intron 5 was identified. We re-assigned Block 1 haplotypes, and added novel haplotypes to the other 3 blocks. The reported promoter haplotypes were further classified into several types according to tagging variations within Block 1 coding or intronic regions. Our current data reconfirm the haplotype profiles of the other three blocks, add more detailed information on functionally-important haplotypes in Block 1 and 2 in the Japanese population, and identified differences in haplotype profiles between ethnic groups. Our updated analysis of ABCB1 haplotype blocks will assist pharmacogenetic and disease-association studies carried out using Asian subjects.

Abstract

We have investigated the variation of threshold voltage (Vth) with regard to the resistivity (p) of the semi-insulating substrate, and have found that there is a good correlation between p and Vth. It has previously been reported that the uniformity of Vth (/spl sigma/Vth) has a relation to the uniformity of microscopic resistivity (/spl sigma/p/p) of the semi-insulating substrate. We have studied a correlation between /spl sigma/p/p and the Hall mobility of the semi-insulating substrate (/spl mu//sub H/). It has been found that a substrate with a higher /spl mu//sub H/ can produce better /spl sigma/Vth. These results suggest that the Vth can be controlled by substrate parameters such as resistivity and mobility.

Abstract

One of the trends observed in the cellular phone technologies is to dramatically reduce the size and the weight of the handset. Accordingly antennas used for such handsets must also follow downsizing of the handset unit. In particular, built-in antennas are required recently. In this paper, we investigate a downsizing technique of antennas for handset by utilizing a magnetic material. Firstly, basic characteristics of PIFA (planar inverted-F antenna) which is popular built-in antenna for handset, are obtained by the HFSS electromagnetic simulator, and calculated results are compared with measured results. Secondly, change of resonance frequency of PIFA is examined by arranging various types of magnetic materials. Suitable configuration and arrangement of magnetic materials are found. In a result the possibility of miniaturization of PIFA is confirmed by utilizing magnetic materials.

Abstract

Purpose of Review: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is characterized by persistent symptoms such as fatigue, loss of interest in activities, feelings of sadness and worthlessness. MDD often coexist with cardiovascular disease (CVD), yet the precise link between these conditions remains unclear. This review explores factors underlying the development of MDD and CVD, including genetic, epigenetic, platelet activation, inflammation, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activation, endothelial cell (EC) dysfunction, and blood-brain barrier (BBB) disruption., Recent Findings: Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the membrane-associated guanylate kinase WW and PDZ domain-containing protein 1 (MAGI-1) are associated with neuroticism and psychiatric disorders including MDD. SNPs in MAGI-1 are also linked to chronic inflammatory disorders such as spontaneous glomerulosclerosis, celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn's disease. Increased MAGI-1 expression has been observed in colonic epithelial samples from Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis patients. MAGI-1 also plays a role in regulating EC activation and atherogenesis in mice and is essential for Influenza A virus (IAV) infection, endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced EC apoptosis, and thrombin-induced EC permeability. Despite being understudied in human disease; evidence suggests that MAGI-1 may play a role in linking CVD and MDD. Therefore, further investigation of MAG-1 could be warranted to elucidate its potential involvement in these conditions., (© 2024. Abstract

The characteristics of a built-in folded dipole antenna (BFDA) for handsets are introduced and analyzed to make it lower profile. In the analysis, the electromagnetic simulator IE3D based on the method of moments (MoM) is used. Both theoretical and experimental analysis of the antenna performance such as input impedance, current distribution and radiation pattern, are shown for both unbalanced and balanced feeds.

Abstract

This paper proposes robotic kitchen counter, a novel kitchen counter with sensors to monitor a user's action and with the capability of changing its top plate height according to his preference. The robotic kitchen counter was realized by installing various kinds of sensors to the commercial kitchen counter and by putting a jack mechanism underneath. The sensor data acquisition and the top plate height setting can be done through network. Cooking experiments with this robotic kitchen counter showed that 1) there's an optimal kitchen counter height according to an individual person and to his action during cooking behavior, and that 2) the dynamic reappearance of the kitchen counter height he manually adjusted in the stages during the previous cooking behavior was recognized handful, which is the typical example of the simplest action-adapted and personally-fit assistance. The outstanding point of this robotic kitchen counter is that it can measure the cooking action without disturbing the cooking behavior itself while providing action-adapted and personally fit assistance based on the data obtained. The authors believe that the hardware and software techniques obtained through this development can be the starting point to develop other action-adapted and personally fit assistance system.
