Comprehensive Summary: In vivo monitoring of bioelectrical and biochemical signals with implanted electrodes has received great interest over the past decades. However, this faces huge challenges because of the severe mechanical mismatch between conventional rigid electrodes and soft biological tissues. In recent years, the emergence of flexible and stretchable electrodes offers seamless and conformable biological‐electronic interfaces and has demonstrated significant advantages for in vivo electrochemical and electrophysiological monitoring. This review first summarizes the strategies for electrode fabrication from the point of substrate and conductive materials. Next, recent progress in electrode functionalization for improved performance is presented. Then, the advances of flexible and stretchable electrodes in exploring bioelectrical and biochemical signals are introduced. Finally, we present some challenges and perspectives ranging from electrode fabrication to application. Key Scientists: In 2001, a seminal work by Kipke et al. first showed flexible polyimide‐based intracortical electrode arrays.[1] This electrode was further expanded to 252‐channel using microelectromechanical systems technology by Stieglitz et al. in 2009 and achieved large‐scale cortical recordings.[2] Later, Lieber et al. created mesh electronics that allow for seamless and minimally invasive three‐dimensional interpenetration with nerve tissues, opening up unique applications for flexible electronics.[3] Subsequently, Rogers et al. described bioresorbable electronics for transient electrical activity recordings in 2016.[4] And Frank et al. proposed polymer electrode arrays capable of resolving single neurons in 2019.[5] It wasn't until 2020 that a significant breakthrough in biochemical signals monitoring by Peng et al. demonstrated functionalized carbon nanotube fibre bundles for multiple disease biomarkers monitoring.[6] Later on, Mooney et al. established the first fully viscoelastic electrode arrays for neural recordings from the brain and heart in 2021.[7] Recently, Bao et al. presented tissue‐mimicking, stretchable neurotransmitter interfaces for monitoring the brain and gut.[8] [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The indexing Sub-Vector Distance (iSYD) based feature matching algorithm has good search accuracy and efficiency in feature matching of high dimensional vector, but the computational complexity of this algorithm is still high and it is limited in practical applications. Aiming at this problem, we introduce a key dimension selection method to improve the iSYD based feature matching algorithm. This method first divides the feature vector into several sub vectors, and selects some sub vectors to replace the original ones; then we create the index value for the feature vector, and search the nearest neighbor point according to the index value. This method can effectively differentiate the vectors with smaller similarity, and it can further reduce the search scope of the nearest neighbor. Experimental results show that the improved iSVD based feature matching algorithm has good search accuracy, and meanwhile improves the matching accuracy and shortens the time of matching, thus having a good practicability. Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the most frequent malignant tumors, and the mechanisms underlying the anti-ferroptosis of esophageal cancer cells are still largely unclear. This study aims to explore the roles of amplified protein kinase C iota (PKCiota) in the ferroptosis of ESCC cells. Cell viability, colony formation, MDA assay, Western blotting, co-IP, PLA, and RNA-seq technologies are used to reveal the roles and mechanisms underlying the PKCiota-induced resistance of ESCC cells to ferroptosis. We showed here that PKCiota was amplified and overexpressed in ESCC and decreased during RSL3-induced ferroptosis of ESCC cells. PKCiota interacted with GPX4 and the deubiquitinase USP14 and improved the protein stability of GPX4 by suppressing the USP14-mediated autophagy–lysosomal degradation pathway. PKCiota was negatively regulated by miR-145-5p, which decreased in esophageal cancer, and also regulated by USP14 and GPX4 by a positive feedback loop. PKCiota silencing and miR-145-5p overexpression suppressed tumor growth of ESCC cells in vivo, respectively; even a combination of silencing PKCiota and RSL3 treatment showed more vital suppressive roles on tumor growth than silencing PKCiota alone. Both PKCiota silencing and miR-145-5p overexpression sensitized ESCC cells to RSL3-induced ferroptosis. These results unveiled that amplified and overexpressed PKCiota induced the resistance of ESCC cells to ferroptosis by suppressing the USP14-mediated autophagic degradation of GPX4. Patients with PKCiota/USP14/GPX4 pathway activation might be sensitive to GPX4-targeted ferroptosis-based therapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The oxidative interception of various σ-alkyl palladium(II) intermediates with additional reagents for the difunctionalization of alkenes is an important research area. A new palladium-catalyzed oxidative difunctionalization reaction of alkenes with α-carbonyl alkyl bromides is described, in which the σ-alkyl palladium(II) intermediate is generated through a Heck insertion and trapped using an aryl C(sp2)H bond. This method can be applied to various α-carbonyl alkyl bromides, including primary, secondary, and tertiary α-bromoalkyl esters, ketones, and amides. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
