Although ellipsis has been extensively researched in theoretical linguistics, the pragmatic applications of ellipsis in corporate interactions remain largely unexplored. While previous studies have empirically established that the omission of noun phrases (NPE) and verb phrases (VPE) serves to economise and facilitate communication and create a different interpretation for the recipient, little is known about the pragmatic functions of these elliptical constructions within a corporate context and how the pragmatics of NPE and VPE can help contribute to achieving the communicative goals. The current study seeks to identify the pragmatic value of NPE and VPE in corporate communication in order to see how they contribute to the efficiency of the discourse and its emotional intensity. The study captures both qualitative and quantitative data. Data were gathered from 312 transcripts obtained from corporate communications (negotiations, meetings, presentations). During the qualitative phase, discourse analysis was used to analyse the function of NPE and VPE in achieving communicative functions such as clarity, emphasis, and rhetorical effect. For the quantitative phase, measuring the frequency of occurrence and contextual usage of these constructions contributed to discerning patterns and functions in the use of NPE and VPE in corporate discourse. Across both the qualitative and quantitative phases, results indicated that NPE and VPE improved discourse efficiency by eliminating redundancies and narrowing focus on strategic elements for an audience. It was additionally shown that NPE improved the emphasis on important content by eliminating redundancies while the use of VPE conveyed urgency and immediacy across communicative contexts. The quantitative phase also illustrated NPE and VPE as easily replicable constructs and that their strategic use influences an audience’s emotional reaction. Additionally, the analysis showed NPE and VPE may contribute to recipient’s perception of confidence and authority regarding their communicative competency in a corporate setting. The study thus challenges the traditional view of ellipsis from linguistic theory to be understood as a tool of pragmatics, not only for its ability to reduce language, but to direct attention and interpretation. The final conclusion of the research is NPE and VPE have specific value in building improved strategies of corporate communication, creating clarity, and emphasising information of importance.

This research has the main objective to investigate how PT. XYZ utilizes social media as a means to improve its corporate image. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach with an in-depth focus on PT XYZ. We analyzed the various communication strategies they implemented, including the application of P.E.N.C.I.L.S and RPAE theories, as well as conducted a SWOT analysis to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by the company. In addition, we also conducted surveys and interviews with the corporate communication department. The results revealed that PT XYZ succeeded in building a positive image by implementing an effective corporate communication strategy. This strategy includes Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, quality service, social and environmental responsibility, and attention to safety. In addition, we found that PT XYZ is also active in customer acquisition (CA) strategies on social media platforms, such as Twitter, regardless of the company's reputation. Information strategies are used more often than response and engagement. However, some experts argue that engagement may be more effective in achieving CSR goals. In addition, CSR communication is more focused on the outcomes produced by CSR actions rather than the concrete ways such actions are taken, in line with consumer interests and expectations. In conclusion, this study provides important insights into PT XYZ's successful corporate communication strategies in building its positive image through social media. These discoveries can serve as a helpful roadmap for other companies seeking to enhance their corporate communication strategies in social media. Therefore, this study holds the promise of making a beneficial impact on advancing corporate communication practices in the ever-expanding digital era.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become a decisive reputation tool for companies and as such, a key concept in corporate communication as a phenomenon of intercultural and global significance. This has warranted a comprehensive examination of the language of CSR reports reflecting the principles of the corporate culture. Studies exploring the narratives of CSR reporting currently lack insights into the distribution of meaningful priorities evidenced in language use. This study sets out to explore the linguistic environment of the most frequently occurring language tokens to identify recurrent language patterns used to ensure efficient CSR reporting, and to further establish priority directions in CSR narrative composition evidenced in language use. A corpus-based approach and contextual analysis were adopted to examine CSR reports issued by Microsoft over the last seven years and recognised as an example of best practices in the corporate field. The corpus was compiled using the Prime Machine corpus concordancer tool and comprised 99,176 tokens. Following the study results, the study makes a number of inferences regarding the use of pronouns, “Microsoft + a verb denoting positive action”, “more + than,” “more + adjective”, “Corporate” as part of compound terminological units, as well as a set of key tokens encountered within a descriptive linguistic environment with positive connotation. This, in turn, proved helpful in identifying the hierarchy of priorities distribution revealed in the course of material analysis. The results contribute to a systemic appreciation of corporate language policies facilitating efficient stakeholder communication and can be used in further research investigating related matters of scientific interest.

The digital era has significantly transformed corporate communication, presenting both challenges and opportunities for organizations. PT Binajasa Abadikarya, a leading manpower and outsourcing services provider in Indonesia, is no exception to these changes. This research aims to explore the challenges PT Binajasa Abadikarya faces in maintaining effective corporate communication and to identify the opportunities available to enhance its communication strategies in the digital age. The study employs a descriptive qualitative research method, using primary data collected through interviews with key stakeholders within the company, and secondary data sourced from relevant articles, journals, and books. Data analysis was conducted using NVivo software to systematically organize and interpret the qualitative data. The findings reveal that PT Binajasa Abadikarya faces significant challenges, including maintaining consistency in messaging across digital platforms, managing crisis communication in real-time, and overcoming content saturation. However, the research also identifies substantial opportunities for the company, such as leveraging digital tools for broader stakeholder engagement, utilizing data analytics for personalized communication, and implementing an omnichannel communication strategy. These insights provide PT Binajasa Abadikarya with strategic directions to enhance its corporate communication and maintain its competitive edge in the digital era. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Through the reflections of professionals occupying a variety of corporate communication roles, our aim was to understand what the corporate communication profession looks like in the current marketplace and the career pathways professionals take. We find that roles and functions are "broad and blurred" and "evolving and escalating," while pathways and job titles are "varied and vacillating" and "tentative and time bound." Our article offers theoretical and practical implications for industry and academic professionals looking to bridge the gap between the classroom and the marketplace. We end with pedagogical and curricular implications for corporate communication educators.

The COVID-19 pandemic led hospitals to work differently regarding legal procedures and eHealth services and brought a changing and fluctuating healthcare environment that affected communication among clinicians, patients, and families. These organizations were forced to make their corporate communication initiatives more efficient and interact with stakeholders differently, especially with patients and media companies. This paper aims to understand better hospitals' main corporate communication initiatives during the Covid-19 pandemic. We show that the most important communication initiatives implemented by hospitals during the COVID-19 outbreak were related to the following main areas: a) professional management of corporate communication, b) transparency, c) human values, d) hospital's brand, and e) online corporate communication. During the pandemic, there was a lack of professional corporate communication in hospitals and the need to execute more than merely conservative communication strategies.
