The appearance of new media and its enormous diffusion in the last decades of the 20th century and up to the present has greatly increased and diversified the reception of Egyptian themes and motifs and Egyptian influence in various cultural spheres. So-called ‘popular'or ‘pop'culture (cinema, genre fiction, TV-series, comics, graffiti, computer and video games, rock and heavy music, radio serials, among others) often makes use of narratives and motifs drawn from the observation and study of ancient Egypt, updated and reinterpreted in various ways, and which is now the subject of study by scholars of Egyptology. The present monograph seeks to provide new evidence of this interdisciplinarity between Egyptology and popular culture. Das Engelmann-Skizzenbuch ermöglicht einen Einblick in die Entstehung von zwei der bekanntesten Werke Ludwig van Beethovens: Es dokumentiert Beethovens letzte Arbeiten an den Diabelli-Variationen und enthält frühe Skizzen zur Neunten Symphonie. Das Skizzenbuch wird hier erstmals vollständig in Transkription vorgelegt. Die enthaltenen Skizzen werden bestimmten Werken und Werkabschnitten zugeordnet und analysiert. Zudem konnten durch die Untersuchung der Schreibprozesse neue Erkenntnisse über Beethovens Arbeitsorganisation und seine Schreibstrategien gewonnen werden. Dies wird durch neue Forschungen zur Provenienz des Skizzenbuchs ergänzt: Wie zuvor nicht bekannt, beschäftigte sich bereits Johannes Brahms mit diesem Skizzenbuch.

Questi prodotti sono spesso sorprendenti, ma talvolta risultano impoveriti nel lessico espressivo del disegno e nella costruzione corretta del necessario Modello di riferimento che permetta di indagare, di analizzare e conoscere la realtà materiale e le intenzioni immateriali contenute nella forma visibile. Questo connubio fra ricerca e docenza deve essere riconosciuto come testimonianza di vivacità della disciplina che ha saputo gestire tradizione ed innovazione e ha messo a disposizione, ad un livello alto, le proprie conquiste scientifiche in ambito didattico e interdisciplinare. Dalle considerazioni effettuate emerge il carattere di un'area che, orientata su obiettivi interdisciplinari, muove sempre dalle competenze specifiche del Disegno. Va preso atto che si tratta di un'area assai ricca di contenuti e di tradizione scientifica e sperimentale che, ponendosi come campo di analisi la matrice formale e l'elaborazione di verifica, può diventare fonte di
