Hepatic artery pseudoaneurysms (HAP) are uncommon, occurring mostly as a complication of trauma (accidental or iatrogenic). Liver abscess rarely causes HAP and multiple HAP associated with cholangitic abscesses have not been reported in the literature. We present a patient of acute necrotizing pancreatitis with stent block cholangitis and multiple cholangitic abscesses who developed hemorrhagic output through drainage catheter in the liver abscess. A multiphasic CT angiography demonstrated three HAP, which were treated with a combination of endovascular coil embolization and percutaneous thrombin injection. The fact that cholangitic abscesses may be associated with pseudoaneurysms should not be neglected, considering the potentially catastrophic complication and relatively easy radiological management. CT angiography permits accurate diagnosis and lays down the roadmap for endovascular procedures.

Background: Uric acid is thought to play a pathogenic role in hypertension mediated by several mechanisms such as inflammation, vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation in renal microcirculation, endothelial cell dysfunction etc. The study was carried to see the relationship between serum uric acid and hypertension and its correlation with components of metabolic syndrome as it is thought that hyperuricemia is more common in hypertensive patients probably because hyperuricemia may be also a component of metabolic syndrome. Methods: The present observational cross sectional study was conducted in the department of Medicine in a tertiary care hospital in Assam from June 2021 to May 2022. A total of 150 patients who were diagnosed as hypertensives following ACC/AHA guidelines, 2017. Newly detected hypertensives were enrolled for the study. Relevant clinical and laboratory data were recorded using proforma and statistical analysis were done accordingly. Results: 20% cases were found to be hyperuricemic in the study population out of which 67% of the cases who had metabolic syndrome had hyperuricaemia. Conclusion: There can be a direct relation between hypertension and hyperuricemia, hyperuricemia was found in 20% of hypertensive cases. Serum uric acid level correlates significantly with variables like BMI, Dyslipidemia, stage 2 hypertension, which are components of metabolic syndrome. Thus, hyperuricaemia can be an index of suspicion for the concomitant presence of metabolic syndrome. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim and Objectives: This study was done to investigate the relationship between essential hypertension and blood uric acid levels. Materials and Method: This cross-sectional observational study was done after getting the permission from Board of Studies Department of General Medicine, Rajshree Medical Research Institute, Bareilly, UP during the period 2020-2022. The study populations comprised of all patients attending OPD/IPD with diagnosis of Essential Hypertension. After the data had been entered into the spreadsheet with the help of Microsoft Excel, the statistical analysis was carried out with the assistance of the statistical programme SPSS version 21.0. The student t-test and the chi-square test were utilised in the process of analysing the differences in mean values and frequency, respectively, between the two groups. Results: The mean Systolic and Diastolic blood pressure was significantly more among cases compared to controls. The mean Serum Uric Acid was significantly more among cases compared to controls. The mean Serum Uric Acid was significantly more among subjects with Stage 2 Hypertension. The mean Serum Uric Acid was significantly more among subjects with Duration of Hypertension > 5 years. Conclusion: The author came to the realisation that those individuals who suffered from hypertension had much higher levels of uric acid in their blood than those individuals who suffered from normotension. People with stage II hypertension had an equal ratio of men and women with hyperuricemia, and it was found to be more common in those with hypertension that had been present for a longer period of time. Greengram is one of the most important pulse crop grown by the farmers of Udalguri district of Assam in rice fallows as well as in upland areas. However, most of the land remains unutilized as fallow after harvest of Kharif rice. So, greengram was demonstrated by KVK Udalguri, Lalpool using scientific cultivation practices. Fertilizer was applied as NPK@ 10-35-15 kg/ha; Compost @ 1 t/ha. Seed was treated with rhizobium culture @50 g/kg seed. The result revealed that the demonstration resulted in higher production of greengram with a grain yield of 7.8 q/ha with net income of Rs 15,400.00/ha as compared to production of grain yield of 6.0 q/ha with a net income of Rs 7,900.00/ha in farmers practice (control). The increase in yield was 30% over the farmers practice. The B:C ratio was also high in demonstration (1.65) over farmers practice (1.36). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
