Abstract This study aims to investigate the prognostic value of the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII)and its impact on survival in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). A total of 706patients with mRCC treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs)between January 2007 and June 2020 (i.e., sunitinib, pazopanib) were included in this study. SII was calculated in 621 patients with the following formula:[neutrophil (cellsx109/L) x platelet (cellsx109/L)] / lymphocyte (cellsx109/L).All patients were classified into SII-high and SII-low groups based on the cut-off value of SII at 756, which was the median SII level of our study group. The minimal follow-up duration was 10 months in all cohorts. The median age of patients was 60 (interquartile range (IQR):53–67) years. Three out of four patients were male. The majority of patients (85.7%) had clear cell histology, and sarcomatoid differentiation was observed in 16.9% of all patients. There were 311 and 310 patients in the SII-low and SII-high groups, respectively. In general, baseline characteristics were similar in each group. Aim:Pure seminoma which is diagnosed in early stages is the most important tumor seen in young adults. Toxicity problems and patient preferences should be taken into consideration when making treatment decision. We aimed to present the data and survival rates of patients with pure seminoma who has been followed in our clinic.Materials and Methods:Documents of the pure seminoma patients who has been followed and treated in our clinic between the years of 2008 and 2018 were studied retrospectively. Patient features, tumour features, treatment regimens, prognosis and folow up after treatment were recorded.Results:86 of 125 patients(68,8%) who has been followed in our clinic with the diagnosis of seminoma were between the ages of 20 and 40. At the time of diagnosis,102 patients(81,6%) were at stage 1,14 patients(%11,2) were at stage 2 and 9 patients(7,2%) were at stage 3 disease. Metastases were detected in only 5 patients at the time of diagnosis. While 63 patients were treated with chemotherapy and 39 patients were treated with radiotherapy. Survival rate was 88,9% for 45 patients who filled in 10 years follow up time. 6 patients died because of disease recurrence and irresponsiveness to the therapy. The prominent features in deceased patients were late stage disease and lung parenchymal recurrence.Conclusion:Different treatment modalities for stage 1 disease were similar in aspect of overall survival. Pulmonary parenchyma recurrence and advanced stage disease were associated with mortality.

Introduction: Colovesical fistulas are one of the most frequent complications in fistulizing Crohn's disease. Fistulizing Crohn's disease and tumor coexistence may lead to tumor spread through the fistula. Case report: In this study, a 62-year-old male patient with colon cancer spreading to bladder mucosa through the colovesical fistula due to Crohn's disease is presented. He was treated and followed up for Crohn's disease and in the routine follow-up colonoscopy, a mass was observed in sigmoid colon. Computed tomography demonstrated the mass as a local disease. The patient underwent both left hemicolectomy and due to intraoperative colovesical fistula, subsequently, fistulectomy. Pathologic evaluation revealed stage 1 adenocarcinoma of the colon. Transurethral resection was performed for postoperative evaluation and a mass was detected and resected in the bladder. Pathologic findings of resected specimens were consistent with metastasis of adenocarcinoma of the colon. The clinical features, diagnosis and treatment data were analyzed retrospectively and it was thought that the existing tumor spreads to the bladder through the colovesical fistula due to no invasion into the muscularis propria layer of the bladder. Management and outcome: Since muscle invasion was not detected in the bladder after TUR-T, cystectomy was not planned. 8 cycles of systemic adjuvant chemotherapy (Oxaliplatin and Capecitabine) were planned for 6 months. Gastroenterology consultation was requested for Crohn's disease treatment. It was recommended to discontinue azathioprine and continue with adalimumab therapy. Discussion: Colovesical fistula may develop in Crohn's disease that is not in remission and the fistulae can lead the metastasis of tumors.

Introduction: We aimed to evaluate clinical features, prognostic factors, and treatment preferences in patients with non-clear cell renal cell carcinoma (nccRCC). Methods: Patients with metastatic nccRCC were selected from the Turkish Oncology Group Kidney Cancer Consortium (TKCC) database. Clinical features, prognostic factors, and overall survival (OS) outcomes were investigated. Results: A total of 118 patients diagnosed with nccRCC were included in this study. The median age at diagnosis was 62 years (interquartile range: 56–69). Papillary (57.6%) and chromophobe tumors (12.7%) are common histologic subtypes. Sarcomatoid differentiation was present in 19.5% of all patients. When the patients were categorized according to the International Metastatic RCC Database Consortium (IMDC) risk scores, 66.9% of the patients were found to be in the intermediate or poor risk group. Approximately half of the patients (55.9%) received interferon in the first line. At the median follow-up of 53.2 months (95% confidence interval [CI]: 34.7–71.8), the median OS was 19.3 months (95% CI: 14.1–24.5). In multivariate analysis, lung metastasis (hazard ratio [HR]:2.22, 95% CI: 1.23–3.99) and IMDC risk score (HR: 2.35, 95% CI: 1.01–5.44 for intermediate risk; HR: 8.86, 95% CI: 3.47–22.61 for poor risk) were found to be independent prognostic factors. Conclusion: In this study, survival outcomes are consistent with previous studies. The IMDC risk score and lung metastasis are the independent prognostic factors for OS. Objectives: We aimed to show whether the scoring system we developed using IDH, p53 and Ki-67 markers has a prognostic feature on survival in glioblastoma. Methods: Retrospective screening was conducted on 109 patients who were followed up in our clinic. IHC scoring was performed from pathology reports. Results: Fifty-five patients (50.5%) were IDH Wild, 44 (40.4%) of them were p53 mutant, and 51 (46.8%) of them were Ki-67 >30 status. Median PFS was 6.2 months (95% CI: 5.7-6.8 months), and median OS was 10.1 months (95% CI: 7.6-12.5 months). In multivariate analysis p53 status was independent prognostic factor for both PFS and OS [(HR: 2.03 (1.14-3.61), p=0.02) and (HR: 1.86 (1.03-3.36), p=0.04), respectively]. However, Ki-67 status was an independent prognostic factor for only OS [HR: 1.94 (1.02-3.69), p=0.04]. When the patients were examined by dividing them into four IHC score groups for the combined prognostic value of IDH, p53, and Ki-67 status; differences between group 0 and the others were statistically significant. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that p53 and Ki-67 are useful, independent prognostic markers for GBM patients. Background: Pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) is an easily accessible immune marker based on peripheral blood to estimate prognosis in patients with cancer. This study evaluates the prognostic value of PIV in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) treated with nivolumab. Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, patients with mRCC treated with nivolumab in the second line and beyond were selected from the Turkish Oncology Group Kidney Cancer Consortium (TKCC) database. PIV was calculated using the following formula: neutrophil (103/mm3) x monocyte (103/mm3) x platelet (103/mm3)/lymphocyte (103/mm3). Results: A total of 152 patients with mRCC were included in this study. According to cut-off value for PIV, 77 (50.7%) and 75 (49.3%) patients fell into PIV-low (≤ 372) and PIV-high (> 372) groups, respectively. In multivariate analysis, PIV-high (HR: 1.64, 95% CI 1.04–2.58, p = 0.033 for overall survival (OS); HR: 1.55, 95% CI 1.02–2.38, p = 0.042 for progression-free survival (PFS)) was independent risk factor for OS and PFS after adjusting for confounding variables, such as performance score, the International mRCC Database Consortium (IMDC) risk score, and liver metastasis. Conclusion: This study established that pre-treatment PIV might be a prognostic biomarker in patients with mRCC treated with nivolumab in the second line and beyond. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

However, the rate of patients treated with sunitinib (63.3% vs. 49.0%, p < 0.001) and those who underwent nephrectomy (83.6% vs. 64.2%, p < 0.001) was higher in the SII-low group than in the SII-high group. On the other hand, patients with the IMDC poorrisk (31.6% vs. 8.0%, p < 0.001), those with bone (51.8% vs. 32.2%, p < 0.001) or central nervous system (12.9% vs. 5.8%, p = 0.026) metastasis, and those with Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG) 2–4 performance score (28.1% vs.17.7%, p = 0.002) were more common in the SII-high group than in the SII-low group. The median overall survival (OS) was longer in the SII-low group than in the SII-high group (34.6 months vs. 14.5 months, p < 0.001). Similarly, the median progression-free survival (PFS) was longer in the SII-low group than in the SII-high group (18.0 months vs. 7.7 months, p < 0.001).In multivariableanalysis, SII was an independent prognostic factor for OS (hazard ratio (HR):1.39, 95% confidence interval (CI):1.05–1.85, p = 0.01) and PFS (HR:1.60, 95% CI:1.24–2.05, p < 0.001).Pre-treatment level of high SII might be considered a predictor of poor prognosisin patients with mRCC treated with TKIs. Purpose: We aimed to identify the prognostic and predictive values of post-treatment prognostic nutritional index (PNI) and PNI dynamics in nasopharyngeal cancer patients (NPC) in this study. Methods: One hundred seven non-metastatic NPC patients were included. PNI was calculated by using the following formula: [10 × serum albumin value (gr/dL)] + [0.005 × total lymphocyte count (per mm3)]. ROC analysis was used for determining prognostic PNI values and univariate and multivariate statistical analyses for prognostic characterization of PNI. Results: The statistically significant cut-off values for pre- and post-treatment PNI were 50.65 and 44.75, respectively. Of the pre-treatment PNI analysis, PNI ≤ 50.65 group had shorter loco-regional recurrence-free survival (LRRFS), distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS), and overall survival (OS). Furthermore, for post-treatment PNI analysis, PNI ≤ 44.75 group had shorter LRRFS and OS. In univariate analysis, only pre-treatment PNI was associated with LRRFS and DMFS, while pre- and post-treatment PNI were both associated with OS. In multivariate analysis, both PNI were independent prognostic markers for OS. In the combined analysis, pre- and post-treatment PNI, differences between the groups were statistically significant, and the PNI dynamics was an independent prognostic indicator for OS. Conclusion: PNI is a useful, independent prognostic marker for non-metastatic NPC patients. It is used for either pre- or post-treatment patients. Furthermore, changes in pre-treatment PNI value after curative treatment is a significant indicator for OS. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: Contrast nephropathy risk has been increasing in cancer patients. Nephrotoxic side effects of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor/receptor (anti-VEGF/R) drugs used in oncologic treatment are also prominent. The purpose of this study was to identify the possible association among anti-VEGF/R drugs use and development of the contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) in patients with cancers. Methods: A total of 92 patients were included in this prospective cross-sectional study. Patients whose glomerular filtration rate (GFR) of < 50 ml/min, hemoglobin of < 10 g/dl, and eastern cooperative oncology group (ECOG) score of ≥ 2 and had received nephrotoxic drugs were not included in the study. Blood samples were collected baseline at pre computed tomography (CT) and day 2, day 3 and day 7 later CT imaging. CIN was defined as either an increased serum creatinine value of 0.5 mg/dl or increased 25% to baseline. CIN frequency between groups receivingand not receiving anti-VEGF/R was compared using the chi-squared test. CIN frequency between bevacizumab and other anti-VEGF/R was also analyzed. Results: There were 39 patients in the anti-VEGF/R (+) group and 53 patients in the anti-VEGF/R (−) group. Eleven patients (28%) in the anti-VEGF/R (+) group and 3 patients (5.6%) in the anti-VEGF/R (−) group had CIN (p = 0.006). In the anti-VEGF/R (+) group, 23 patients received bevacizumab (combined with FOLFOX/FOLFIRI), while 16 patients received other anti-VEGF/R (sunitinib, axitinib, regorafenib, aflibercept) effective treatments. CIN ratio in patients who received bevacizumab or other anti-VEGFR therapy was similar (p = 0 = 50). Of the patients, one patient had acute kidney injury leading to death. Conclusion: CIN was significantly more frequent in cancer patients who receiving anti-VEGF/R drugs than those not receiving anti-VEGF/R drugs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
