- Abstract
This study examines the development of the concept of the ecological niche among 10-11-year-old students and their ability to use this concept to give their opinions on the socially relevant and controversial possibility that wolf populations might be established in the mountains surrounding the school. A total of 21 elementary school students were engaged in an authentic school inquiry project about the wolf during which they undertook a series of diverse activities, such as searching for information about the wolf's biology, field work and modelling activities in order to perform a habitat suitability analysis. Starting with a Qualitative Content Analysis approach, a mixed method approach was applied to analyse students' drawn and written productions about (a) the wolf's survival requirements; and (b) the viability of its establishment in the region. Results show how the complexity and the sophistication of the ecological niche concept improve, and how the consideration of biotic, abiotic and anthropic factors change during instruction. Difficulties encountered by students in using such a concept in a new context are also highlighted. Implications for education are considered.

The main aim of this research is to present an evaluation tool for the Network of Schools for Sustainability in Catalonia, which comprises 18 networks with more than 1400 schools. The secondary aim is to reflect on the construction process conducted. The tool was constructed following the tenets of constructivist evaluation by Guba and Lincoln, which is characterized by the engagement of multiple voices from a range of stakeholders, using a consecutive hermeneutic dialectical process, understood as a negotiation among participants. To ensure these processes, in the construction of the tool the fourth authenticity evaluation criteria were followed. The main outcome of the project is an evaluation tool composed of 25 criteria which are divided into 5 dimensions: Structure of the Network, Training Offering, Collaboration with External Stakeholders, Guidance of the Networks and Communication. Some transversal areas could be seen in the tool, such as the role of evaluation and the involvement of stakeholders from the school, which represent areas of special relevance for the participants in the process. - Abstract
In this paper, we look closely at two events selected through event-oriented inquiry that were part of a classroom presentation on race. The first event was a provocative discussion about Mark Twain's ("Pudd'nhead Wilson", Harper, New York, 1899) and passing for being White. The other was a discussion on the use of the N-word. Grounded in authentic inquiry, we use ethnographic narrative, cogenerative dialogues, and video and oximeter data analyses as part of a multi-ontological approach for studying emotions. Statistical analysis of oximeter data shows statistically significant heart rate synchrony among two of the co-teachers during their presentations, providing evidence of emotional synchrony, resonance, and social and emotional contagion.

- Abstract
Being in the moment, showing compassion, being non-judgmental, acknowledging deep emotional challenges without getting stuck: these are mindfulness characteristics important to us as teachers, yet not often included in teacher preparation. These concerns become magnified when we focus on difficult knowledge and thorny issues, like topics related to gender and race. Using a sociocultural framework, we address how mindfulness, heuristics, and other contemplative practices can be adopted to create safe, supporting, and healing spaces for such complex, often emotionally painful discussions. Participant narratives are used extensively to provide a voice to those marginalized or hurt. Drawing from these narratives and their experience in discussing thorny issues, we put forth possible solutions and interventions that can create spaces that encourage and support critical discourse through mindful practices. The development of a heuristic for discussing thorny issues whose characteristics can be adopted by interested teachers and educators to help frame and mediate this type of difficult discussion is an outcome of this research.

- Abstract
This paper presents an elementary school experience with 8-10 year-old children to inquiry on how the human body regulates body temperature. The current pandemic situation, with the usual practice of taking children's temperature before going into the school is the context that triggers the study. From here, the students observe that corporal temperature remains stable, despite the environment temperature, but also how the body responds to these changes in environmental emperature. With the purpose of explaining one of these body responses, a human body model is constructed in order to explain how the sense of touch works, in particular how the information flows from the environment to the Central Nervous System to elaborate a response. Finally, based on what had been worked about the sense of touch, the students build new representations to explain one of these corporal responses to regulate temperature: the sweat production., Se presenta una experiencia llevada a cabo con alumnado de ciclo medio de primaria para investigar como el cuerpo humano regula la temperatura corporal.

The paper presents a case on how people from different backgrounds work together in a school agroeocology project. This case study is part of a wider project within the European Comenius multilateral network CoDeS (Collaboration of schools and communities for a sustainable development), whose main objective is to foster school community collaboration for sustainability. In a little kindergarten and primary school from a small community, with only fifty students, we have been studying for four years the collaboration between the teachers, the students, the families and the neighbours around a school agroecology project. The key points of this collaboration have been the building of a physical space such as the vegetable garden, and the development of shared activities, where families, neighbors and students, learn together about gardening. The case study has been framed through the concept of boundaries, which the different actors have to cross for a successful collaboration. These boundaries are created because each community actor comes from different Discourse communities. Three parents and three teachers were interviewed, in order to identify what were the main visions about the project in the school. The results indicate that the vegetable school garden acts as a Boundary Object, an object that joins different actors of the community. We argue that successful collaboration between schools and communities for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) depend on the skills of the different stakeholders to create boundary objects. The challenge for science education is to develop shared activities which are meaningful for different stakeholders and that are based on boundary objects.

- Abstract
The main aim of the doctoral thesis Science education in community through a socio-cultural approach. The school food garden as a learning environment to engage families is to describe and to interpret the case of a small primary and kindergarten school, which developed a school food garden project in order to involve families and neighborhood. To achieve that goal, during four years the school organized monthly shared activities focusing on the food garden, from a school science based perspective. Families lead the learning processes of heterogeneous groups within these shared activities. From a socio-cultural approach, this research considers the school as a meeting point of different communities. The food garden shared project and shared activities are understood as learning environments which promote contexts for science learning. In order to analyze the phenomena, two theoretical constructs are used. On the one hand, the theoretical construct of tensions which is useful to analyze the changes related to participation, sharing knowledge and meaning making. On the other hand, the theoretical construct of position is useful to analyze the action of people, through the responsibilities that they take in the interaction. The research faces three different questions. The first question is related to the families and the teachers' initial visions about the food garden shared project. A content analysis of three teachers' and three families' interviews were carried out. The results show that all of them shared the same motivation about the shared project: to educate. A part from that, every community actor should position in a different way in the collaboration. The second question is associated with the tensions and positions that different community actors play in the shared project building. From an ethnographical approach, a participant observation and different interviews were conducted during these four years. The results suggest that the tensions distribution wa

Although price increases are common in business-to-consumer and business-to-business (B2B) markets, research examining the consequences of price increases on financial performance outcomes in B2B contexts is scarce. This study takes a relationship perspective on price increases and examines how a portfolio price increase affects the financial performance of the customer relationship and whether and how this effect varies between international business customers from different cultures. Based on objective data from 966 international B2B customers of a chemical goods company, this study examines a large-scale field intervention. Results show that higher portfolio price increases, although rooted in an increase of upstream costs, bring more severe harm to B2B customers' sales revenue than lower portfolio price increases. These consequences vary with customers' cultures as B2B customers with culture-specific communal norms are more susceptible to the magnitude of portfolio price increases than customers without such norms. International B2B companies, therefore, need to refrain from implementing uniform price increases and should consider their business customers' cultural origin when designing and implementing price increases. INSTITUTIONAL logic ,SALES personnel - Abstract
Drawing on the institutional logics perspective and evidence from 21 first wave and 11 second wave interviews with sales professionals, we offer a framework of salesperson responses to changes occurring in the sales field due to COVID-19. We find that salespeople acknowledge that the pandemic could lead to a new dominant logic (i.e., belief systems, principles, unwritten rules, and practices that guide behavior of sales professionals across the field) that differs from the previous logic. Consistent with the institutional logics perspective, we find support that salespeople choose to either (1) defy the new logic, (2) comply with the new logic, or (3) blend both new and old approaches. We find that the extent and nature to which salespeople change their behavior(s) to align with a new logic can be explained by whether they cast the disruption as a demand or an opportunity. However, factors including organizational support and salesperson perceptions of their own capabilities may serve as a buffer when disruptions are perceived as new job demands. We also find that early career salespeople are more likely to accept new logics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

COVID-19 pandemic ,FINANCIAL performance ,TECHNOLOGY management - Abstract
As organizations emerge from the disruptions induced by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is becoming evident that the sales function has shifted irrevocably toward increased reliance on technological resources to facilitate inherent processes and activities. Integrating research from the dynamic capabilities and sales capabilities literature, this study examines why some organizations are more adept than others at harnessing and leveraging emergent technological resources to enhance sales operations. Specifically, we develop and test a theoretical framework of the antecedents and consequences of technology-enabled sales capability, a firm-level operational capability that captures the embeddedness of technology in sales processes and activities. The framework proposes that three firm-level dynamic capabilities—technology-sensing capability, vigilant market learning capability, and adaptive sales capability—are positively related to technology-enabled sales capability, which in turn is positively related to financial performance and customer relationship performance. The framework also explores the moderating effects of top management technology advocacy and two environmental variables—technological and market turbulence—on the development and deployment of technology-enabled sales capability. Based on findings from data gathered from 224 business-to-business sales managers, we extend theoretical and managerial contributions and provide directions for future research. DIGITAL technology ,QUALITATIVE research ,EMPIRICAL research - Abstract
This study aims to offer novel means for rethinking contemporary business-to-business (B2B) sales operations and the assumptions that underlie them in the digital era. This rethinking relates especially to sales managers' efforts to facilitate cognitive unlearning in B2B sales management during the ongoing digital transformation taking place in enterprises. Unlearning—the process of purposely reflecting on and discarding old ways of knowing and doing—is crucial to prevent outdated organizational knowledge and routines from becoming a barrier to change. Before adopting new sales practices, sales organizations must first discard old ways of knowing and doing. Drawing insights from unlearning and B2B sales management literature and conducting empirical qualitative research on 31 executives and senior managers operating in various industries, the study outlines a four-phase process for unlearning as well as several key themes within each phase. The findings emphasize how top management facilitates cognitive unlearning regarding digital business transformation in the B2B sales context. The study contributes to sales management literature by introducing cognitive unlearning as a new theoretical angle on the issue of digital transformation. It also offers insights for sales managers on how to elevate and leverage the unlearning of salespeople. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Critical Issues and Bold Visions for Science Education contains 16 chapters written by 32 authors from 11 countries. The book is intended for a broad audience of teachers, teacher educators, researchers, and policymakers. Interesting perspectives, challenging problems, and fresh solutions grounded in cutting edge theory and research are presented, interrogated, elaborated and, while retaining complexity, offer transformative visions within a context of political tensions, historical legacies, and grand challenges associated with Anthropocene (e.g., sustainability, climate change, mass extinctions). Within overarching sociocultural frameworks, authors address diverse critical issues using rich theoretical frameworks and methodologies suited to research today and a necessity to make a difference while ensuring that all participants benefit from research and high standards of ethical conduct. The focus of education is broad, encompassing teaching, learning and curriculum in pre-k-12 schools, museums and other informal institutions, community gardens, and cheeseworld. Teaching and learning are considered for a wide range of ages, languages, and nationalities. An important stance that permeates the book is that research is an activity from which all participants learn, benefit, and transform personal and community practices. Transformation is an integral part of research in science education. Contributors are: Jennifer Adams, Arnau Amat, Lucy Avraamidou, Marcília Elis Barcellos, Alberto Bellocchi, Mitch Bleier, Lynn A. - Abstract

Supply & demand ,Time-based pricing - Abstract
Dynamic pricing, also called surge pricing, is the process of rapidly adjusting prices in response to changing market conditions. It became particularly popular when commerce began shifting to the Internet in the 1990s, allowing online retailers to rapidly change prices in order to maximize profits. Many retailers hired market analysts who helped set prices for particular times or regions; however, in the modern era, larger companies typically utilize digital analytics software. This software allows companies to rapidly adjust prices for a variety of factors, including supply, demand, and the prices of competitors.
