Abstract
- The Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) was signed on August 1, 1975. This agreement, known as the Helsinki Accords, provided the capstone for a series of promising international developments in the early 1970’s and was the formal culmination of the effort to achieve détente between the Soviet Union and its bloc and the West.
