Abstract
- This article examines recent Australian progress in the advancement of a national agenda for developing the quality of school leadership. The article falls into three main sections. First, the reasons for the unprecedented attention devoted to the quality of school leadership in this country are discussed. Secondly, the article describes the logistics of promoting a national approach to the quality of school leadership according to the complex sharing of responsibilities for education that exists between the Federal level of government and the States and Territories. Thirdly, the article reports some promising initiatives in shaping a national agenda for enhancing school leadership.
