Global Awareness in the Classroom: Global Classroom Initiative

As countries around the world move toward global integration, knowledge of how Canada interrelates globally is becoming an increasingly useful asset. It is important that young Canadians learn what it means to become responsible global citizens. Awareness about global issues and appreciation of Canada's efforts in international development offer a practical beginning. This article discusses several initiatives developed by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to help educators explore topics of global interest in their classrooms and ensure that their students broaden their awareness about international issues.
