Abstract

Contrasted the effect of a group-mediated cognitive- behavioral intervention (GMCB) versus traditional cardiac rehabilitation (CRP) upon changes in objective and self-reported physical function of older adults after 3 months of exercise therapy. Both groups improved significantly. Adults with lower function at the outset of the intervention benefitted the most. The GMCB resulted in greater improvement in self-reported physical function for lower functioning participants than did CRP. (SM)
