Abstract

Although Royal Dutch Shell had been identified as a "premiere learning organization," it had its worst results in 1998. Reasons included loss of commitment and community, leadership complacency, and inability to create a shared vision. Although management espoused learning organization principles, learning was not used for communal well-being. (Contains 54 references.) (JOW)
