Abstract

Examines a group of preservice primary mathematics teachers' understanding of fractions using software called JavaBars. Suggests that while teachers had built up robust knowledge about fractions, they experienced difficulty in translating this knowledge in the JavaBars environment. (Contains 26 references.)
