Abstract
- For 28 years after founding the Appalachian Journal in 1972, Jerry Williamson's sardonic sense of humor and troublemaker disposition challenged previous understandings of Appalachia and forced readers to view the region in a new light. Features, innovations, and people that Dr. Williamson employed to make this publication preeminent in the field of Appalachian studies are reviewed. (TD)
