Abstract
- Finds relationships between the process of becoming a proficient science teacher and the process of becoming a competitive swimmer. Notes that the author's student teaching, in concert with theoretical and methodological coursework, and composing a theoretical framework paper on a research-based rational for teaching science, all contributed to a beneficial student teaching experience. Outlines three suggestions for teacher education programs. (SR)
