Abstract

Administered Reasons Individuals Give for Becoming Administrators, Counselors, or Teachers Questionnaire to 123 graduate students. Found that administrators, counselors, and teachers differed significantly on reasons they entered their respective professions. Administrators were more likely to mention money and prestige; counselors appeared more motivated by helping students; and teachers appeared motivated by security, good schedules, and good vacations.
