Abstract

Investigates why Vietnam-era veterans tend to have lower status occupations than contemporaries who did not serve in the military. Explores the possibilities that (1) veterans were victims of discrimination; (2) military service interrupted occupational advancement; or (3) veterans were less educated than their peers. Concludes that lower educational attainment resulted in lower occupational attainment. (SG)
