Telematics in France: Panorama and Prospects.

Review of the development of French telematics--a union of telecommunications and computer technology--from 1970 to the present discusses: (1) research, political decisions, and field testing; (2) extension of the electronic directory service to the entire country; and (3) services available through the telematic system.
