A Descriptive Study of Faculty Tenure in Baccalaureate and Graduate Programs in Nursing.

A survey of methods for achieving tenure in nursing schools is discussed in the context of: nursing's beginnings in higher education, nursing's terminal degree, development of scholars in other fields, faculty handbooks, the meaning of tenure, tenure criteria, the need to reexamine practices, and doctoral dissertation preparation.
